Sage raised a hand gently, not sure if he should hug her back or smooth down her hair. He settled on a mixture of the two, wrapping one arm around her shoulders in comfort and using the other to smooth back her hair. He looked down at her, unsure what to say as she sobbed into his green sweater and unsure how to react. He looked over at Naruto with widened eyes, before looking down at her and kneeling down to look her in the eyes. "Aspen." He said softly, brushing her hair out of her eyes and looking into hers with his own deep, green ones. "Please don't cry." He begged her, taking her hands into his own and squeezing them slightly.
