Smogcloud tasted the bitter herb, the juice seeping into their throat. As careful as they were, they couldn’t stop the trickle of foul juice. They kept themselves from retching, but stayed still. They stiffened as the forest seemed to get darker. The shadows seemed darker, more menacing somehow. They stepped back, overwhelmed with emotion. Then, they shook out their fluffy pelt. No, they were there to help. Not run. They kept their stormy blue eyes open for danger as they followed the patrol.
