Morningpaw had done nothing else, so Finchwhisker was able to turn his full attention back to Wolffang. Feelings of reparation ebbed through the deputy as his claws caught onto and tore open the warrior's side. There. Now they were mostly even. As he got up from his roll, he took note that some of the rabbit-chasers were fleeing as their leader arrived on the scene. But this one was a little more persistent. While the other tom crept toward him once more, he kept his gaze fixated on his every movement. "What's the matter? Aren't you going to get up and flee with the other rabbits?" he sneered, taking one small step forward.

And then the strike happened. He'd expected Wolffang to be aiming for his left shoulder, but the sudden change of direction caught him off guard. A claw poked into the area around his right shoulder, drawing a small amount of blood. At the same time came Dawnstar's call for ShadowClan to leave. Wrenching himself free of the other tom, the dark tabby scowled indignantly. "This isn't over. We'll finish this next time," he growled. While he spoke, he briskly turned and bunched all his weight upon his front paws, before extending forcefully backwards, aiming to back-kick Wolffang in the face as a final attack. He didn't wait around long enough to see the result, instead taking off after his leader and the rest of ShadowClan.
