Butch is quite a strange rogue cat, especially as a kittypet in the past. His energy knows no bounds, and neither does his fake confidence. He acts like the toughest cat on the block, yet has no idea how to truly fight as a stray cat would, and definitely doesn’t know how to fight as a warrior would. This puts him in an imaginary state of superiority, which he isn’t afraid to press onto other cats. Despite this, Butch can show a lot of respect for those above him. At most times, he hides it, though any real role model will know of his feelings due to his endless yammering about them. Aside from this, he does feel the need to protect and defend others, and does care for those he has become close to. Butch has an open enjoyment for making friends despite his “superiority”, though can’t take criticism well.

Being on his own for moons has taken its toll on Butch, the young tom learning many harsh lessons in life. There are parts of him that never passed, though it's undeniable that his experiences have shaped him. Having to rely on himself, Butch has become a resourceful tom, making the most out of what he has or can find. As such, he has learned how to free time up for himself and others. Butch can adapt to his surroundings quickly, unless they supply him no resources to work with. Though he used to be unable to fight, a run-in with some less than friendly rogues and a tougher than he imagined kittypet (Spice) has made him eager to succeed. Though not a skilful fighter as a whole, he's learned how to scrap and escape if need be.

If there's one thing that will never change, it's Butch's outspoken nature. He was never the kind to sit back and the let the world pass him by, and it still is an intrinsic value of his. No matter the danger of stating his opinion, it will be stated, whether anybody agrees with him or not. With a new lay on life, however, Butch has more hidden insecurities in himself that have led him to become more skeptical than presumptuous as he once was. Understanding that sometimes he can't achieve what he wants or trust whoever he wants, Butch has come to the hard truth that a perfect life is simply impossible to achieve.

Still eager to hang onto any scrap of self-confidence he has left, Butch still hasn't changed his cockiness or his belief of being better than everyone else. Nowadays, he struggles to believe everything that he says, but uses it as a defence mechanism, of sorts. As such, he has a tendency to shut others' ideas down, just to keep himself safe. His negativity is mostly a factor of his newfound scepticism, though after being separated from his family for moons on end, Butch's loneliness tends to interfere with his emotions.
