But he pushed the disloyal thoughts away, angry at himself for thinking that an arrogant ThunderClanner could be right about things. 'I'm not scared either!' he growled in response. He tensed, crouching lower to the ground as his tail lashed aggressively.

Defending ShadowClan with his life was always Basil's job, and nothing could change that fact.
