Frostkit sat next to her brother in the nest, determined on watching him.
"Yous lucky I didn't tells mom about yous leavings camp!" She hissed at him.
"You're still a tattle-tale! Now I'm in trouble." He scowled.
"Cross-eyed." The white kit made fun, poking a teasing paw at the other.
"Snake tongue." Pinekit retorted
"Mouse-brains!"
"Fluff ball!"
A few more insults flied back and forth until Pinekit had enough and pounced on his sister, rolling around in the nest with her in a non-friendly manner.

Ripplekit got up and walked towards the kits and sat down. "You should be nicer to your brother. He didn't quite know. How would you feel if you got teased by your littermates? Pinekit, you can come and stay with me." Ripplekit offered. Then she got up and sat in the far corner of the nursery in her nest. @Socks

Re: RiverClan Nursery

A small smile spread across the queen's maw as she gazed upon her two kits. Snowyfur, being the usual, over-protective mother, didn't want her children to leave her for their apprenticeships so quickly. "You will both be amazing apprentices," the she-cat remarked cooly, her bright blue eyes solemn and sweet. Bowing her head slightly towards her young, Snowyfur gently started bathing them, with quick, brisk laps. Her bristled young smoothing out small clumps of fur, and captivating any piece of dirt that clung to the small ones' pelts. "Who do you want as your mentors?" Snowyfur queried her sons, her earspricked forward, eagerness permeating from the fluffy she-cat. The queen always wanted her sons' opinion on things, even if it didn't matter too much. Shuffling her paws quietly, Snowyfur, no matter how much she loved her kits, was desiring for her own nest again, one where she didn't have to bother about how comfortable her kits were. The queen exhaled slowly, sleepiness tainting her mind; all she could think of was her ardor to rest comfortably and peacefully through the dark, without having to get up to tend to her young.

Looking doubtfully up at his mother, Arctickit wasn't too sure he would be an 'amazing apprentice'. Being one of the smallest in the nursery, despite being one of the eldest, Arctickit knew that he wouldn't do well in his moons of apprenticeship, and that he would never amount to the cat that Snowyfur thought that he would one day become. At the question of a mentor, Arctickit merely shrugged, his kit-mind making him doubtful of ever becoming an apprentice. Though ambiguity tainted the young one's mind and senses, Arctickit couldn't help but day dream of becoming the best warrior in RiverClan.

While his brother was deep in thought, Rainkit piped up answering his mother's question. "I want Cloudyfoot! He's super cool and awesome and nice and strong and well, just perfect!" Rainkit ran around in circles, eager to become a paw. "Why not me?" Fogfur inquired, sliding into the Nursery with a mawful of minnows, Snowyfur's favorite food. He deposited the freshly caught fish at the gorgeous she cat's paws, looking up at her before raising his head to look at his sons. "Rainkit seems energetic today," he commented before looking at his other son. "Arctickit, are you okay? I think you're drifting off again." The tom used his nose to nudge his kit back to his senses.

Shaken from his deep thoughts, Arctickit almost leaped out of his stance. "Wh-what?" The kit stammered in a squeak. Arctickit raised his head quickly, blinking hard at his father. "Oh-ohh, sorry... Just... Just daydreaming is all all," a small sigh escaped the kit's mouth, just short of groan. The kit knew that his dream-like state only made his company very irritated at his presence. When his accompaniment would let the tom know of the anger he caused, Arctickit hated himself, and when Fogfur had aroused him, it only reminded him of how many cats disliked him.

The troubled kit glanced over to his brother, his bright blue eyes flashing slightly. "Bucknight would never let you be mentored by your uncle," he grumbled slowly. The tom's irritation was from the fact that he was dreading his upcoming his apprenticeship. The normally excitable kit's personality was gloomy and dull, his baby blue eyes absent of their cheeriness.

Snowyfur, knowing her son well, glanced over with concern at him. "Are you alright, sweetheart?" The queen asked cooly, her voice even and quick. "You've been acting... Different.." The she-cat's voice trailed off, not wanting to give away any of her concern for her kit.

At her mate's offering of minnows, Snowyfur smiled, and nodded her thanks to him. Though she was grateful for the minnows, she looked into Fogfur's eyes, then retained them on Arctickit, as though to say, Have you noticed?

Fogfur gave a small nodd of his head to indicate that he had noticed his son's sudden drop in happiness over the last moon, gazing at Artickit worriedly. Rainkit nudged his brother. "Maybe you need some fresh air, Artie." He suggested. "Why dint we go out in the clearing and relax for a little while? It'll ease our minds and we can maybe even have a bite to eat, sound good?" Rainkit asked hopefully. The last thing that Rainkit wanted to see was his littermate depressed before their apprentice ceremony. He and Artickit used to be so excited at the prospect at becoming one pawstep closer to acheiving warrior hood. The small bouncy tom didnt want to remember his apprentice ceremony as the day where Artcikit was mopy and drifting off into space! He gazed desperately at his mother, Snowyfur "We wont go out and we can come straight back to you." He pleaded, showing her his kit eyes in which he hsd inherited from his father.
