It had been a while since he arrived first, but it was time to break that habit. With the beginnings of a smile on his muzzle, the older brown tabby tom lead his clan into the empty clearing to settle in and wait for the others to join. For a little while, Grousestar was unsure whether he would climb out of his slump. If he'd ever become half the cat he was again. And now.. He felt it was at least possible. He was nearly ready to choose a deputy again, he could feel it. His time of grieving and wallowing in sadness was coming to an end. It was time to lead Skyclan again.
After making sure those he led here were settled, Grousestar would climb his way up the rocks to settle himself at the top where he had a wonderful view of those below. Taking a deep breath, he settled in, adopting a relaxed yet attentive demeanor that contrasted to his rigid, cold demeanor that he had adorned for the past several gatherings. It was a small change, but Grousestar felt that it was time to let things go. He still didn't fully trust the others, nor did he think highly of too many of them, but he was coming out of his slump. Hopefully things would go well this gathering.

Re: June Gathering [Leaders]

It felt like just yesterday that she was following Blazingstsr to the last gathering. Coming in with injured cats, nothing bad, but almost every member of the Clan had some sort of sound after the dark forest battle. Luckily by now most of the cats were back healthy and strong as before. To be honest Buttercupbreeze lived seeing her Clanmates spring back after a battle, especially when they won. Though the creamy molly wasn't a fan of the fighting it's self, or the injuries and death to be more persist. She didn't mind training and actually found it fun, even when her apprenticewas a pain, she disliked cats she cares for getting hurt. That wasn't a reasonable topic to thank and though. They were nearing Seastones.
Taking a deep breath the bushy tailed feline pushed away her scattered thoughts. Reasonably her mind was avoiding thinking to much on things that bothered her while she was out in the public eye. Things that stressed her out of saddened her, which were being forcefully pushed from her thoughts most of the time lately. Buttercup had been grieving and just dealing with things. Sometimes she just wanted to forget it all.
Now was the time to be professional and responsible. Last gathering was a bit awkward among the deputies, with Flintspirit being kind to her, the new ShafowClan deputy Forestshade not really talking to anyone and that RiverClan deputy was just a bit, hostile maybe? He returned her greeting with a glare and she was just hoping it wasn't because Fallenstar and Blazingstar didn't get along. She wasn't going to keep s pointless grudge because Blazingstar didn't get along with RiverClan. Even though she wasn't much of a fan of most of them.
Noticing SkyClan already here Buttercupbreeze felt accomplished that WindClan was second. Waving her tail for the cats to mingle with the SkyClsan cats if they wanted A the molly made her way to the rocks. Groundwater was the only one there showing he hadn't yet picked a deputy. Sitting down in her typical place under Blazingstar, Buttercup rapped her tail around her paws and looked out for the other three Clans to arrive.

With the sun gleaming on his fur, Passionstar clambered rather clumsily to his spot, his steps were heavy, but he tried to keep himself composed. Another gathering, another meeting under the skies. He saw that Grousestar was here, his whiskers twitched with amusement as that was the first time that the reddish tom saw the tabby first to come to the gathering. Nonetheless, he gave him a respect dip of his head before settling down and giving the few stuck up chest hairs a reason to stay slicked down. His tail covered his paws neatly as he awaited the arrival of the others, eyes gazing forth at all the cats that were already mingling together.

Blazingstar eventually made his way to the Seastones, working his way up slowly. His shoulder was still sore and healing from the battle and he was glad Buttercupbreeze made sure the clan arrived at a decent time. He refused to miss a gathering, his pride overruling Beepaw's request to rest. The ginger tabby took his spot on the rocks, giving a small head dip to the other two leaders who were already present.

Fallenstar was the next to arrive, giving each leader their respective nod, this time even including Blazing, and taking his place next to the Skyclan leader. Not shoulder to shoulder of course, but within a closer proximity than usual. Seems as though they were just waiting on Shadowclan. Normally he was either the second or the last one to arrive, usually the ladder, it felt weird waiting for one more clan to arrive. Was this how the other's felt whenever he was running behind?

Behind Fallenstar was Lionstorm, his head raised as he joined the other deputies below the leaders. Once again, he was where he belonged-- above the crowd in the spotlight. His muzzle was twisted in a smirk, eyes gleaming as he looked up at his leader.

Tonight, RiverClan would be making history. They were wronged once more, and he wasn't going to let ShadowClan get away with their crimes. Borders were laid out for a reason, and moving the markers was a despicable act. If Windystar wanted war, Lionstorm would raze his Clan and leave nothing salvageable behind.

It was his choice.

He was tired. Oh, so tired.

The usually peppy, upbeat leader was falling behind schedule, his paws dragging in the dirt. His eyes, usually a vibrant amber, seemed dull and upset. But he had to set an example. So, the sand-colored feline had set off with an empty smile toward the Gathering. He tried his best, he really did, to keep his head up. But the father he walked, the more his tail dragged and paws scuffed the dirt. Even though it was ages ago, he had very nearly given up on Milkweed returning to him. The leader was in a rough state.

As soon as he heard the chatter of other Clans, he peeked his head up and lifted his tail. With yet another false smile, he signaled for ShadowClan to go. Windystar himself headed up the rock as gracefully as he could, very nearly tripling in the process. He was out of breath, but spoke. "I’m sorry we were running late," he huffed, dipping his head. "I hope you all are well. Let’s begin." He gestured for someone to go. After all, he had just come.

Forestshade padded behind Windystar slowly per usual. He hadn't gotten sleep in days. He almost forgot about the gathering tonight. Forestshade felt bad for Windystar as the sadness wafted off of him. It'll be alright. He's our leader. Hopefully he'll get through it. It's it my fault?. His mind was racing when suddenly Shadowclan had arrived. He spurred good head to the leaders and deputies. He sat down and stained hours ears at the cats below.

Re: June Gathering [Leaders]

Having closely followed Passionstar, Flintspirit was the first deputy to arrive at the sea stones, the lack of a Skyclan deputy still present to him. He sat down, tiredness stretching through husband system, but none that he let show through. He looked a little ruffled, as he hadn’t gotten the decent chance to groom himself throughly recently. But he kept his head up and eyes wide, not allowing himself to show a sign of weakness. He could come off relaxed, he didn’t mind doing that, in fact that is what he often did. But showing any weakness was not okay for him.
Today the Thunderclan deputy clearly looked on edge, with his stiff posture and bright green eyes that wandered over the clearing as cats were filing in. He didn’t take much notice of the other deputies as they came to sit beside him, only keeping a small amount of his attention towards them in case any of them tried to speak with him. But all in all, Flintspirit kept most of his attention towards Passionstar, hoping to find some comfort in the way his leaders would present himself. He could always find comfort in the collected calm of the large ginger leader when it came to gatherings.

Passionstar shook his fur, not sure which leader would decide to step up first to announce anything. Everyone was present, even if Windystar came a bit disoriented, Passionstar still offered a peaceful grin. He was always respectful and willing to go last if anyone else wanted to step up, but he supposed that an order wasn't set in stone. The tom overlooked the crowd of cats below them and flicked his tail, heaving his heavy self up to step forward so he could gain the attention of all at the gathering. Passionstar always tried to present himself with a regalness, a kind of elegance that a leader just needed to emit, as if they were glowing. They were like a north star to their throng of cats that admired them, followed their words, and obeyed their orders. Passionstar may had suffer some losses, but the glint of passion in his eyes remained there. Always. ''I'll go first.'' He informed the others before giving his attention to the audience of cats. ''So far this moon, thunderclan is faring...well. A little skirmeshes here and there, but nothing too extreme that we cannot handle. We do celebrate our newest apprentices and warriors. The queens that had given birth. The older warriors that done a magnificent job in their many moons as a warrior. We celebrate and congratulate all of you. That is all from Thunderclan's side.'' Passionstar whisked up his tail, stepping back in his place. A peace had settled upon him that he couldn't exactly explain, but he felt that every clan needed to know that every rank in a clan is appreciated to have. He knew he was very appreciative of the entire being of Thunderclan.

Fallenstar looked up from where he was playing with moss when he heard Windystar clamber up the Seastones, boredom getting the better of him while he awaited the arrival of the last clan. They were here now, no need to try and entertain himself anymore. With his arrival, they could finally start the Gathering. He had an announcement to make. He let Passionstar go first, he needed to think of how to word what he was going to say.

"Riverclan is fairing well." he began after Passionstar finished, speaking as he walked up to the edge so he could be seen. Before he continued he looked down at Lionstorm, maintaned eye contact for a few moments before clearing his throat. "We have many new apprentices and warriors, and our Nursery's full with many lively kits." he hummed, nodding his head. "However, a patrol found out that our borders were being pushed back. Shadowclanners have been marking their borders further back into Riverclan territory. We will be taking our territory back on our way back to Camp." he said, giving Windystar a side glance. "You should learn how to control your warriors better. Didn't you teach them where your border goes?" he uttered, giving the leader an annoyed look.

Re: June Gathering [Leaders]

Windystar had wanted to go last. The usually talkative, smiling tom needed to collect his spiraling thoughts and think about what he needed to say. But embarrassment washed through him. ShadowClan was the last here because of him. He had wanted to maintain a formal yet informal atmosphere with the other leaders, and here he came; late, looking like a monster ran over him, and his thoughts rushing so fast he barely heard the word "ShadowClanners" come from an annoyed Fallenstar’s mouth.

This quieted his mind as he listened, dull amber eyes focused only on the dark leader and what he was saying. Did that mean one - or more? - of his warriors had gone behind his back? Usually, Windystar would respond with a polite apology and a dip of the head. But tonight, he wasn’t thinking. Only acting. "Fallenstar, I’m afraid that I wasn’t aware that my warriors were going behind my back," he said in a low voice, both directed at the RiverClan leader and his own Clan. "I can promise you that this shouldn’t happen again." He said his words slowly and darkly, more so aimed at his Clan. When he would do his announcements, Windystar would be sure to address this just in case some chattering warrior of his or rambunctious apprentice knew he was serious. "In fact," he went on, more sure of himself. "I will personally check the border tomorrow morning. That way I know how far back the border was pushed and re-mark it if necessary."

"What a leader," Lionstorm spoke out loudly, baring his teeth at the ShadowClan tom. "You're supposed to be in control of your Clan, Windystar, and you can't even do that. What kind of leader and deputy wouldn't be aware of their warriors actions?" This was a jab at Forestshade too, and he shot the other deputy a dark look.

"As Fallenstar stated, though I'm not surprised you didn't listen, we'll be taking back our land tonight." His lips curled upward, gaze leveled to meet Windystar's. "But if one of your cats touches the marker again, I'll be personally making sure they never set their paws over the border again."

Forestshade was intent on listening to the leaders as they each spoke of their clans. He was a bit surprised as Fallenstar spoke. As he listened, he nodded. The cats that were marking the border back would be talked to by him. If they didn't listen he would go to Windystar for further instructions. Then, Lionstorm spoke. What a leader you would be Lionstorm. he thought in a mocking tone. When the comment about both of them happened. Forestshade shot Lionstorm a glare and meowed, " I will supervise all border patrols from now until trust is built. Even after you move all of your borders back. Now let's please focus back on the leaders." It was spoken in a semi-annoyed tone. After the last remark from the tom, Forestshade let out a small growl only loud enough for Liomstorm to hear before refocusing on the leaders.

Re: June Gathering [Leaders]

Flintspirit listened attentively to the leaders as they spoke, his flicking wars showing signs that he was listening. His gaze was elsewhere though, carefully scanning the cats in the clearing. He wasn’t looking for anyone specifically, but he used it as an excuse to keep his gaze from wandering to the other deputies. He didn’t have much energy to converse with anybody tonight, he really just wanted to go home. He was sore, and if he was being honest with himself, a little stressed. But he didn’t let any signs of that show through.
Lionstorm’s comment caught him off guard. His eyes instantly went to the golden tom, the green optics narrowing at what he said. His words clearly held a jab towards Shadowclan. Flintspirit allowed an annoyed look to come to his features. Are you trying to start tension? The Thunderclan deputy’s tail flicked with annoyance, and he bit his tongue as Forestshade pole, knowing he shouldn’t interfere. But he could give salty looks all he wanted. Flintspirit was annoyed, and he was going to show it. He allowed his teeth to come up in a slight snarl as he narrowed his eyes, both in warning and annoyance. Better watch your tongue goldfish. He turned to look at Forestshade, giving the tom a very subtle encouraging nod. He knew he had to let the Shadowclan deputy stand up for himself. It was best to stay quiet, however hard it was for Flintspirit.

Forestshade rolled his eyes and looked about. "I know I'm a deputy. It doesn't mean that you have to rule my life. I know my job and I will do it in a way I'm comfortable with. Just because you have a job doesn't mean that you have to go by the book 800% of the time. I know that you are deputy and I respect that. Just respect me. Windystar and I will discipline the warriors in a way we see fit." He noticed the nod from FlintSpirit and blinked his eyes in thanks. "This is supposed to be a night of peace, not arguing." He perked his ears back up at the leaders after that.

(cats shouldn't know the word book)

Lionstorm snorted loudly. "Are you that daft, Forestshade? I wasn't talking about disciplining your Clan, I was referring to your lack of involvement with your patrols. If you're too lazy or incapable to keep track of them, you're grossly out of line. It's not 'following procedures exactly', it's doing your basic duty as a high rank of your Clan." He ignored Flintspirit pointedly-- if the ThunderClan deputy had an issue, Lionstorm would tell him where to shove it.

"Have the clouds covered the sky?" he challenged Forestshade's attempt of being dismissive. "The sky is clear, and it's about time you owned up to your mistakes. Both of your lack of leaderships allowed your warriors to go under your noses, and I need to know if this will be an issue again. If it is, then your Clan will have a lot more problems then just a confrontation at the Gathering."

Re: June Gathering [Leaders]

This tension again. Every single gathering lately had been nothing but trouble. Last moon there was the dark forest attack, that all five Clans fought, this gathering RiverClan was taking a stab at ShadowClan. What is wrong with you Windystar, your not yourself. You showed such promise as a good leader. Don't just forget that and stop caring for yourself and your Clan. The creamy feline mused listening to the toms talk. Her tail hit the rocks below her paws in a timely manner. Each flick of her tail spaced with the same amount of time inbetween. It was as if she was counting her heartbeats or breaths. For once she didn't want to be here the fighting was annoying. Buttercupbreeze glanced over at Lionstorm as he spoke her whiskers twitching. She did not like the ginger tom. He was worse then Fallenstar and practically looked for fights. At his statement she wanted to bare her teeth at him. It was a threat and towards ShadowClan not her own which meant it wasn't her place but he had been hostile to everyone since he was appointed deputy and she wouldn't doubt before that. He's a prideful tom that's for sure She thought looking back into the crowd of cats.
Everything that has been happening was getting to everyone, every one of the cats here was stressed or emotionally damaged. She could feel it, in the way they talked, acted and looked. It was like a wave taking out cats targeting their spirit. Flintspirit, normally so talkative and eager to greet, was full and quiet. Windystar, normally cheerful, confident yet humble in a respectable way was messy and unorganized. Fallenstar, normally full and aggressive, well he was about the same, maybe better actually. The point was all the cats here were acting out of ruteen. Add Firestshade started adding his own thoughts in and the ThunderClan deputy broke it up Buttercup just watched. For once she understand how Flintspirut felt. Annoyed. She was annoyed by their behavior. Their like kits Buttercup thought looking away. Oh StarClan when will this end? Glancing up at Blazingstar the creamy feline wondered. She was aware Blazingstar couldn't fix everything but She kidnapped he could go so they'd get done faster.
Giving an annoyed look, done tolerating the twos bickering Buttercupbreeze glanced over. She rarely did this but she wasn't in the mood. Her own personal life was screwed up and Luonstorm had caused nothing but a headach for her. The thought of him being leader made her stomach clinch. "Stop you're bickering." She told them her brown eyes slightly narrowed. With a huff she turned back to the crowd, hoping one of the Leaders would just speak up already.

Re: June Gathering [Leaders]

Uh oh.

The deputies were squabbling below him, and no one was speaking up. No one was stopping this. He could only listen in shocked silence and think. He was in his own head all of the time now, thinking. He felt stuck. What could he do? He was broken, upset, his emotions controlled him... but he had to do something. Suddenly, he smelled a sweet and familiar scent, clearing his mind and giving him words. Milkweed. His lost friend, though he had been so much more than that. That gave him the extra boost he needed to speak up.

"Forestshade," he warned his deputy gently, hoping that the tom knew that Windystar wasn’t scolding him, simply quieting him. He was making things worse overall; his goal was to have good relations with the Clans. This was simply the first of many obstacles he’d have to face. "Fallenstar," he started, turning back to the ebony leader. "I suppose Forestshade and I will have to monitor our cats. I believe you with the border dispute, though you haven’t shown me proof." he knew that that statement would probably upset Fallenstar, so he quickly went on. "I’m trusting you on this. You and Lionstorm, and I can guarantee it won’t happen again." He directed those last words to his own Clan, sitting and chatting. Hopefully unaware of what was going on with the high ranks. "I hope to not make ShadowClan an enemy to anyone tonight. This was a small dispute, and now it’s over, I hope. Let’s enjoy this night."

This was amusing. It was the first time in a while Blazingstar hadn't been the one to stir things up. His eyes rested on Lionstorm for a moment. The new deputy seemed to be really devoted to his role, perhaps Fallenstar had chosen a decent feline for the job? That's a first.

Golden gaze shooting towards Buttercupbreeze, the leader gave her a small nod of approval. The deputies could squabble in private, but he had no patience tonight to be listening to them.

"Are you guys done now? May we continue with the Gathering?" he shot a glance at Fallenstar and Windystar, tail tip twitching.

Annoyance spiked Lionstorm's pelt further when the WindClan deputy spoke, and his sharp gaze turned to her. "If you have nothing important to add, Buttercupbreeze, keep your maw closed. This is a Gathering, we have every right to confront ShadowClan during this time."

And finally, Windystar spoke up. But Lionstorm wasn't satisfied, pelt fluffing as he glared at the ShadowClan tom. "Proof?" he spat. "The proof is at the border, which both of you have neglected. If you actually kept an eye out you would have noticed it, frog-sucker." Small dispute his tail, not when ShadowClan was trying to avoid the major problem at hand: neither Forestshade or Windystar had properly done their jobs to ensure the borders weren't tampered with.

As for the WindClan leader, he made a point in ignoring him-- his challenging eyes remained on the ShadowClan cats, daring them to continue.
