I wrote out this whole thing, but it just turned into a really, really long rant.

Basically, I think Mapleshade is quite happy where she is. I don't think she deserved to go to StarClan nor do I believe she would have liked it there. I think she probably would have crossed into the Dark Forest anyways. I think she's the most evil character in the series. If she gets to go to StarClan, what does that mean for cats that the majority of the fandom agree belongs in the Dark Forest? If Mapleshade belongs in StarClan, that means Thistleclaw, Tigerstar, Hawkfrost, Brokenstar, etc., belongs in StarClan too.

Also, nothing really excuses cold-blooded murder.

What about Hollyleaf, she killed Ashfur on purpose.

Tbh, I also think that Mapleshade should've gone to the limbo-like place, like Needletail. Both of them were good at the beginning, near bad at the end, and somewhat redeemed by death. It would've made a lot of sense, plot-wise.

I've actually always hated Hollyleaf. I don't think she's the kind of cat you'd find in the Dark Forest, but I don't think she belongs in StarClan either. Perhaps there's some special gray area for her.

yeah I agree with you, I don't know why she was so well liked. Mapleshade would have strayed into the dark forest because she is someone who cannot forget her revenge. if she was let into starclan she would have killed all the cats that she thought was responsible for her kits demise.

How was she redeemed by death? She spent her entire afterlife hooked on getting revenge, actively going against StarClan and manipulating cats simply because they were related to a cat she felt wronged her.
