"Well I'm a soul reaper. I am here to protect people souls like him from those monsters and to take him to the Soul Society."

"And just where is that?" she asked, still standing defensively in front of the boy.

"It's a place where souls like him go when they pass on." He explained. "To live a peaceful life there in the afterlife."

She took a step back. "So souls are food for hollows. Like that one up there?" she pointed up at a parking complex, where she could see a hulking shape with a white face watching them.

He looked up. "What is it with this town and hollows these days?" He sighed. "I'll take care of it in a moment, let me see the boy."

the boy whimpered and hid behind her. "What are you going to do to him?"

"I'm going to send him to the Soul Society."

Her lips lifted in almost a snarl and she prepared herself to defend the boy's soul. Then her eyes widened and she turned, protecting the boy's soul with her body as the hollow leaped towards the group with a scream.

The hollow was dead before it came close to them. Renji had not moved but his sword had reached there and killed it.

She looked up at the guy and said the first thing that came to her mind. "Dude you are seriously OP."

"OP, short for overpowered. Those things don't even have a chance." She helped the boy to stand, who now took a step forward.
"Is my Momma in the Soul Society?" he asked, his voice wavering a little.

"Yes. She probably is waiting for you there."

"Yes. She probably is waiting for you there." He turned to Yuli and bowed. "Thank you for protecting me. I wanna go see my Momma." He set his shoulders and marched up to the man in black. "Is it gonna hurt?" he asked, trying to look tough.

He got on a knee to match the kid's height. "No. It won't hurt at all." He lifted his sword to the kid and lightly tapped his forehead with the pommel. When he stood there was writing on the kids forehead and he started to disappear.

Yuli let out an undignified squawk of alarm(think me falling out of my chair) as she was suddenly introduced to the ground, which turned into a screech of alarm when she noticed the Hollow, which flinched at the high pitched sound.

Yuli noticed. "Pineapple cover your ears!" she yelled.

"Do you want to go deaf? Just do it!" she yelled as the hollow roared again. She then let out a piercing screech that made the hollow scream in agony.

He covered his ears before she did and it still kind of got to him. As the hollow was clearly in pain, he killed it.

"Plus one for unarmed girl!" she said, watching the monster disappear. "What happens to them when they dissolve like that?"
