Mind Games

[Leaf]

Welcome to the Mind Games. What are the Mind Games? Trails, essentially. For whom? Not the smart, extraordinary people who have a mindset far beyond the average person's. Not them at all. Quite the opposite actually... The insane. The insane are put through trials of pure insanity, to see how much they can take, even past the breaking point. People watch the Mind Games for entertainment. Security cameras transfer to video to people's tv screens. How much can you, an already insane person take? Will you form allies to survive? Or will you reject and refuse? Put into mazes... Set into traps... Showed things that can shatter one's mind... How much? Before you break completely?

But yeh so basically, you're an insane person sent into the Mind Games. A bunch of challenges and trials and overall terrifying tests. All for entertainment. But be warned because some have went past the breaking point. You can form allies with other players to survive the Mind Games for as long as you can. As an insane person, you might difficultly with this, but it never hurts to try. Anways, down below is the form and past that my own character.

Personality: Nico went insane at a young age but was held off from the games for a bit. He doesn't mind forming allies and tries to be nice. He's extremely sensitive though and when put into the Mind Games it really gets to him.

Appearance: Average height and build, short blonde hair and a bad case of acne.
Personality: Very bubbly, outspoken and trusting to the point of gullibility.
Other: She is very prone to hysteria and maniacal laughter. She's psychotic.

Age: 18
Gender: Male
Appearance: Short but fairly athletic, looks like your everyday teen with black hair and dark blue eyes.
Personality: He has the mental health of a serial killer, namely a cold outlook on life and chilling indifference to life and attachments in general. Very gloomy sort of person who doesn't say much.
Other: Not sure how much you all might know about psychopaths like Martin is, but just a couple things. If he seems really cold and lifeless that's on purpose: psychopaths have a condition where they pretty much have no conscience. They don't feel remorse and believe that all of their actions are right. They are also rather practical - they don't feel emotion that well, so one of the motives behind a psychopathic murderer could be wanting to rid the world of impure blood by taking any means necessary to accomplish that. I read a really interesting warriors fan fiction about a psychopath like this and if you'd like the link to it I will share it. Anyway, all this is to say that Martin's not necessarily trying to be a jerk or cruel; he's just super practical, maybe a little too practical...

Accepted! We can start now) Nico was shoved through a door. He turned around to see the guards who had escorted him here close it. He turned back around, looking at his surroundings. There was his reflection, a few shiny objects in one direction, and... Nico went back to the reflection. He stretched out his arm. His hand pressed against glass. Oh great. He shot a glare towards the guards who were peeking through a tiny window on the door before walking slowly, arms outstretched, looking for another direction. The glass stopped at one point. He turned that way and continued walking. Nico was aware of the camera in the corner of the room and he stared dead at it for a moment before looking away amen continuing.

[Ivyshade]

(I assume the contestants will be going through the same trials at the same time, right?)

Lexi gave what sounded like a happy squeal as the guards shoved her through a door and slammed it behind her. She landed on her hands and knees and stayed there for a moment, laughing silently. After a few moments she sprang to her feet and looked around wildly. She approached one of the mirrors and waved to her reflection eagerly. "They threw you in here too?! Yay, so now I'm not alone. I hate being alone...hate hate hate it!" She skipped along, occasionally bumping into walls but never missing a beat.

Martin glared at the door that had been slammed in his face, hissing irately through his teeth. The last thing he remembered was collapsing on his bed last night...what the heck was he doing here? He turned around and began to observe his surroundings. Mirrors and glass...everywhere. What...? He began to walk forward, momentarily pausing to look over his reflection. After a brief moment of wonder he continued on, muttering sulkily to himself. Either he was dreaming or going crazy. And I'm pretty sure I'm not going crazy... he thought.

[Leaf]

(Yes) Nico was running now, bumping into glass and mirrors frequently. The camera in the corner of the room swivelled to watch him. He looked around for something to throw at it. There was nothing to throw at it. He sighed and turned left. He was back at door he had come in through. Nico leaned against one wall, thinking. Clearly (pun intended) he wasn't going to find his way out. He'd have to think of another way. He could try breaking it, but that would take a long while. He pushed his hair out of his face and focused his eyes on the camera. Feeling suddenly uncomfortable, he nervously looked away.

Lexi began to skip down the long glass corridors, crashing into walls then turning at a 90 degree angle and continuing on.

Martin gritted his teeth in irritation as he fumbled into yet another wall. Gosh, these things were deceptive. He tentatively took another step forward, hardly believing his eyes when around an invisible corner the distinctive wood of the appeared seemingly out of nowhere. He came all the way around, freezing as he suddenly noticed another person leaning against one of the walls. He stayed where he was, eyeing the door and the person in turn. "Who are you?" he asked warily, prepared to make a run for it if he had to.

[Leaf]

Nico turned his grey gaze towards the other guy, surprised. "I'm Nico. I was put in here because I murdered 7 people and attempted more and I'm insane. How about you?" He asked, used to telling government officials or guards or the police that. He didn't mind telling them; he'd admit to his crime, he had just, lost it one day. And stayed that way. He tried to be friendly to the other guy and gave a small smile. He knew the Mind Games were for the insane as he'd watched them before being put in them. Nico glanced at the camera. "Also, do you have anything that can be thrown?" He asked, looking back at him.

Ashton was shoved into the doors by a group of guards. "About time. You all walk like my grandma." He said one of the guards closed the doors. "Finally. I'm alone." He looked around seeing a mirror he thought for a moment, then realized what it was. "Really have to watch my every move?" He asked to the glass.

Appearance: Sky has dark blue hair and striking grey eyes, her skin is almost a sickly grey color and covered in scars while her teeth are close to resembling fangs but not quite. She's only 4'7" and 82 pounds while she seems to be weak, but could probably choke you out if she got ahold of you. You'll always see her with a dark purple hoodie as she refuses to take it off. Ever.
Personality: Sky developed signs of schizoaffectve disorder at a young age, but it was never fully developed until she was around 17. She's very paranoid and anxious and tends to shake every single second of her living hours. She'll sometimes burst into uncontrollable fits of crying or laughter too as she has the pseudobulbar affect due to brain damage from her mother, a touchy subject. She's pretty depressed to add onto all of this, so yeah. She's insane. Otherwise, tbrp'ed.

"Also, do you have anything that can be thrown?" He asked, looking back at him.
Martin blinked, running his mind over this somewhat unexpected change of events. So this kid's a murderer, and he's insane. A cold feeling like fear suddenly made him freeze. Do they know what I did, then? But they can't...I made sure that no one will ever know... Relaxing visibly but not internally, he lied, "I don't know why I'm here. They probably thought I was connected to some crime or something though, if what you say is true." He gestured toward the door. "That wouldn't happen to be the way out of here, would it? And maybe...what are you trying to hit?" He wasn't sure if he should be glad he didn't have anything of any considerable weight with him or not...

Lexi spun around and collapsed on the ground in a hysterical fit, oblivious to the cameras trained on her behind the glass. "Ha! It's so much FUN here! Much more fun than that other place...they tried to put me in a cage when all I wanted to do was PLAY!!!"

(Lexi is turning out to be very fun to role-play lol)

Sky gave a dark growling noise as guards pushed her into the mirrored and glass-walled maze-like room. Her body was visibly shaking and her hands convulsed against her will. She reached her trembling arms forward as she began to walk, her eyes wide and looking around wildly as she tried not to hit a wall. She led her way through the mirrors, hissing as she hit one. 'You're an idiot. Sh-hut up!' she spoke with one of the voices in her mind, not knowing if it even understood her. She continued to walk, not finding any end to this. She was beginning to get frustrated as hell and due to this loud and shaking sobs escaped her mouth while tears left her eyes, even while she was still walking and seemed to be ignoring the crying she couldn't control.

[Leaf]

Nico raised an eyebrow. "You're... Innocent? That's quite interesting. And I want to knock down that camera. It's quite..." He trailed off, searching for the right words. "Intrusive." ( Leaf ) He was running around screaming. "I didn't know you were real!" He never ran into a mirror, he was too scared to go near them. They all looked the same. (He can't recognize faces.) "Leave me alone!" They were chasing him, moving together as a group. After awhile he ran into Nico and fell over, almost crying. He stood up and punched a mirror so hard that it shattered, revealing the steel behind it.

Nico raised an eyebrow. "You're... Innocent? That's quite interesting. And I want to knock down that camera. It's quite..." He trailed off, searching for the right words. "Intrusive." Martin glared at the other coldly. "Why so? Would you rather I was a criminal?" He shifted his attention to the hidden cameras. "What's the point of all this anyway? Hidden cameras? Do they think we're lunatics that need to be watched?" He jumped backwards as another person crashed into Nico, sobbing uncontrollably. Martin watched the other coldly, itching to silence his pathetic cries once and for all. Well, one of is, anyway...

Lexi looked up from where she lay on the ground and saw another girl. Immediately she leapt to her feet and dance over. "Hey-a!" She sang. "No crying in Lexi-Land!"

How are you." He then shook an invisible hand and turned around. "Hi James. I'm Nick." He then punched another mirror and fell over. "It's my favorite time of the year."

EliteHotDog Ivyshade ) Nico stumbled backwards. He righted himself and watched the other kid punch mirrors and shake invisible people's hands. He noticed all the glass shards now on floor and picked a large one up, trying to cut himself. He turned around and chucked it as hard as he could at the camera. It hit the side of the stupid thing, angling it down a little. Nico cursed under his breath but was glad that people were now looking at the ground and not at them. He turned to Martin with a very confused expression plastered on his face. He glanced at the kid. "Are you ok?" He asked him, wondering what his deal was.

@Leaf ) "Yes yed, I am very much ok. I know how we can get out. We just have to punch mirrors." He turned around and started punching mirrors. "This is enjoyable." "Be quiet, I wasn't talking to you."

[Leaf]

EliteHotDog ) "That's actually not a bad idea. Only problem is that we'll start splitting our knuckles open which I'd rather not do. What about kicking them?" He suggested, kicking one hard, shattering it. Nico studied the steel underneath the mirrors for a clue of some sort. He found nothing and looked back at Zach and Martin.

Ivyshade XD My phone auto corrected my post to "trying to cut himself." I meant "trying not to cut himself." Oops.) Nico nodded. "The Mind Gamed. Where the insane become entertainment," he said dramatically, waving his hand in the air for effect.

(Ok haha...for a sec there I was thinking "wow he really is insane...")
Martin closed his eyes for a second, feeling rage threaten to take over. He had to keep it together...not lose it...wasn't that what these games were about, anyway? Not losing it...How did they find him anyway? I can't think about that! I need to formulate a plan...
He opened his eyes and let out a deep breath. "Okay...the way I remember it, the contestants have to get through various obstacles, and the last one with an ounce of sanity wins. So, obviously this is a maze of some sort. I'm guessing we have to get through it?"
(Let me know if Martin knows too much! I can change my post if need be...)

[Leaf]

Ivyshade Nah he's fine) Nico nodded, bending down for a moment to pluck a small shard of glass out of his shoe. He looked back at Martin. "Thing is, at some point, all of us are probably going to die. Unless one of us makes it out alive. As long as I don't see my memories before my eyes, I should be fine. I hope," he added, knowing that he was sensitive to memories that corroded and chipped away his sanity quickly.

[EliteHotDog]

@Leaf Ivyshade (His real name is Jacob, but he doesn't know that, and he will be going by different names.) He spun around punching more mirrors. "I'm going to destroy you all!" He didn't understand mirrors, he thought that they were monsters.

[Ivyshade]

Martin suddenly turned and kicked the exposed camera as hard as he could, smiling a little in satisfaction when it's outer shell became warped and a small crack could be heard as the lens cracked. Then he turned to the others. "We're not going to die. If we get through all the stages and keep our cool then they'll have to let us out eventually. Now come on...let's get started before something else comes through those doors." He turned and began to walk out into the glass corridors then stopped, an idea coming to him. "Do you have pockets, or a bag of some sort? We can gather up that broken glass and use it as a trail so we aren't driven mad wandering through here." Then he cast a sidelong glance at the teen who was now busting in all the mirrors. "I say we leave him here; although his strength could come in useful..."

(I added a bit more detail to Martin's condition on the first page by the way in case anyone is confused about his persistent indifference)

EliteHotDog Ok Ivyshade ) "Pockets," Nico told Martin, starting to reach down and pick up some glass shards. One poked him hard and gave him a small cut. Nico cursed quietly and wiped the blood coming out off on his jeans, wincing. He scooped a handful of glass and piled it into the pockets. He stood up again, looking at his bleeding finger. He pressed another finger against it to start slowing the bleeding. He glanced at Zach. "Ready to go?" He asked him, wondering if he would continue to punch mirrors.

[EliteHotDog]

@Leaf Ivyshade ) "I'm ready." He replied. "Zach is ready too. Let's go." He then skiped off in a random direction. Keeping his hand on the right wall.

[Ivyshade]

Leaf EliteHotDog ) Martin gathered up some of the glass shards and dumped them into the two pockets on his hoodie. He made a mental note not to rest his hands in them, having seen what had happened to Nico. He then picked up a very large splinter of glass and tucked that up his sleeve, in-between his long-sleeved shirt and the hoodie. Who knows what we'll run into...blast whoever made these stupid games! They must have wiped my memory, because I can barely remember anything... "Yeah," he murmured in response to Nico's query. He watched "Zach" take off then shrugged. "We may as well follow him," he said. "I mean, anything's better than staying here, right?"

@Leaf Ivyshade ) "Yes follow me. Zach says he's scouting ahead."

[Leaf]

EliteHotDog Ivyshade ) Nico nodded, walking after Zach. The three of them reminded him of The Wizard of Oz movie for some reason, having recalled watching it at some point before going insane. "I've got a weird vibe of The Wizard of Oz." He said randomly, glancing at his finger. The bleeding seemed to have almost ceased. Almost. There was still a small trickle of blood seeping through where he was applying pressure.

@Leaf Ivyshade (Zach is his invisible non existing friend who in Jacob's head is scouting ahead.) "Lions and tigers and bears." He said, while still punching mirrors. He body slammed one that reflected all three of them.

[Leaf]

EliteHotDog ) Nico snorted, removing his finger from the bleeding one. He examined it, before gently wiping the blood off on his pants again.

[EliteHotDog]

@Leaf ) "Zach says that there's a u turn to the right, so we should go left." (Zach is basically Jacob's deductive reasoning, which is slightly above average.)

[Ivyshade]

Leaf EliteHotDog ) (good to know...Martin thinks of him as Zack because that's what he introduced himself as)

Martin rolled his eyes but followed the others, carefully avoiding broken glass. He sped up until he was beside Nico and pulled a smooth, silky cloth out of his jeans pocket. "Need this?" He offered roughly, holding the cloth out and gesturing to the blood dripping from the other's hand. He wouldn't last long if he was bleeding out all over the place. Moments later he dodged out of the way as "Zack" shattered another mirror, sending large shards of glass hurtling towards him. "Watch it!" He snapped. "You're gonna put my eyes out."

[Leaf]

EliteHotDog Ivyshade ) "Thanks," Nico told him, taking the cloth. He pressed it against his finger, the bleeding stopping after a moment. He started wiping it clean, the cut only stinging now. He skirted around a pile of glass, glancing up to make sure he didn't hit a wall every now and then.

[EliteHotDog]

@Ivyshade Leaf ) "Would you rather lose an eye or be slaughtered by them?" Jacob asked, while doing a super anime super punch thing that shattered three mirrors.

[Leaf]

EliteHotDog ) "Lose an eye." Nico replied, thinking. If he lost an eye, he'd still have another one and might be able to make it out. If he died to them, well then he wouldn't be able to do anything. He'd be dead. He hoped one day to make it out of here alive and get revenge on the people who made the game.

Huh? "Good choice." (Can a guard come?)

[Leaf]

EliteHotDog Yeh) Nico nodded, eyes drifting up and around. "I really hate mazes. But how they used mirrors is both irritating and strategic," he commented, scraping his shoe against the side of a mirror to mark it so he'd know if they ended up at the same place.

[Ivyshade]

Leaf EliteHotDog (How about something is let loose in the maze that is trying to find/kill them? I'll let Leaf handle that...This role-play seems like it would be the result if someone combined Hunger Games and Maze Runner into one XD )

Martin grumbled to himself, kicking glass shards to one side as they continued along. Well, at least they would know which way they had come, hopefully. He turned out his pockets, watching the glass shards he had collected earlier trickle onto the floor and break into even smaller particles. With the way "Zack" was acting, they wouldn't need them now...

The guard pointed a gun at him, but Jacob pulled a knife seemingly out of nowhere and stabed the guy. He kept walking as if nothing happened.

Martin watched indifferently as a figure jumped out from around the corner and lunged toward them, and as Zack stabbed the person effortlessly and kept on walking as if nothing had happened. "Nice reflexes," was all he said, in a voice that would have sent chills running down the spine of any sane person. Moments later he stopped, listening hard. He heard something, treading on the broken glass they had left in their wake. Something large...and getting closer. "Run," he whispered, adrenaline making his heart race. Then louder and more forcefully he repeated, "Run!" before shoving the other kids forward frantically.

EliteHotDog Ivyshade ) Nico started running. He heard what must have scared Martin and felt a sudden rush of adrenaline. His finger went numb for the moment, as he followed Zach, wondering if somehow he knew where to go.

EliteHotDog Leaf (Lol does anyone have any suggestions for what is following them? If not then I'm gonna pick a random animal and make it have rabies and be giant or something haha. Or just make it be some monstrosity no one can identify.)

Martin heard the glass breaking faster and swallowed hard as he realized that the creature, whatever it was, was in pursuit. His breath grew ragged as he sped along the glass corridors, hoping beyond hope that Jacob aka "Zack" knew where he was going.

EliteHotDog Ivyshade Let's go with some unidentifiable monstrosity) Nico followed Zach into the dead end. He cursed loudly, turning around quickly to face whatever was after them. He reached his good hand into the pocket of glass and drew some out.

Martin skidded after the other two around the corner, stopping just in time before he could collide into the unexpected dead-end. He stared at it, panting for a moment then turned on the others. "Why did you lead us in here?" He demanded, facing Jacob furiously. He searched for something that could be used as a weapon of some kind but the floors and walls were as empty and monotonous as ever. He whipped around to face Jacob once more. "Break the glass, but don't shatter everything. If the pieces are big enough we can use them to some extent, but we'll have to be careful." He glanced at Nico, who was drawing the remnants of the glass they had collected earlier from his pockets. "Anything that we can't use we can throw at...whatever's following us. If we're lucky it might have soft skin, or we can blind it." He drew the long sliver of glass out of his sleeve, cursing softly when it cut through his shirt sleeve, leaving a long, thin scratch behind. Ignoring the pain as best he could, he then looked up wildly, wondering if they could perhaps climb over the walls. But the glass seemed to extend upward forever, and the sheer impossibility of the situation made Martin look down, dizzy and stressed.

EliteHotDog Ivyshade ) An arm or foot looking part of the creature crept out from the side of the wall. He chucked a smaller piece of glass at it, the glass scraping whatever that body part was. Nico heard a screech of pain from it, filling him with satisfaction.

@Leaf Ivyshade (Can they break a mirror that has no steal behind it and go through that?) Jacobwanted to punch Martin. "It was Zach. I was just following him." He saw the reflection of the monster and punched it. (Next reply can decid if it's an exit or not.)

Leaf EliteHotDog (Ack, sorry to keep you all waiting! And yes, that sounds fine to me. It could be how they complete the first stage perhaps?)

Martin smiled for the first time since he had been here. The creature could feel pain, and from such an easy method too. They could beat this. He bent down and gathered handfuls of glass and began to hurl them at the partially hidden creature, at first trying to grab the particles through his shirt sleeves but trashing that method within a matter of seconds. He paused for a second when Nico began to hurl the shards as well to catch his breath and heard Jacob punching another wall. He was about to reprimand him for not helping them ward off the monster but stopped himself, listening to the hollow sound as the glass shattered. As if... "Za--Jacob, that wall...is there anything behind it?"

[Leaf]

EliteHotDog Ivyshade It's fine!) Nico threw another piece of glass before turning around partially. "Huh?" He muttered, wondering if they'd escape the monster creature by going through the possibly empty wall.

Leaf Ivyshade ) "Yeah." Jacob replied casually. He grabbed them both and pulled them through. The monster shoved some limb through but the space where the glass had been was closed off by a sliding metal door. "Thanks Zach." (What if they had powers?)

[Leaf]

EliteHotDog I think that'd take away from the survival aspect of the rp if they had powers to help them out Ivyshade ) Nico let out a sigh of relief at the door closing behind them. They'd made by past the first stage. "What was that thing?" He asked to no one in particular.

Skybird™ You can hop on in into the room they're in now. The room is a circle with many doors that most will lead into into another door or back to the center of the room. Only one of the hundreds of doors will lead you to the exit.)

Martin gasped involuntarily as he was jerked backwards and fell over backwards, then watched in silent relief as a metal door slid between them and the monster, whatever it was. He leaned back farther until his head was resting on the floor, his exhaustion finally catching up with him. "Who cares," he retorted in response to Nico's query. "As long as it is on the other side of this wall I honestly don't care." He put applied pressure to the wound caused by the glass shards and sat up, peering into the dark hallway before them. "Yes, I think this is the way to the second stage. That or we're in the second stage...only one way to find out I guess..." He stumbled to his feet and looked at the others. "Shall we go on or rest here? If we stay here too much longer then we run the risk of something else happening to us."

@Skybird™ Leaf Ivyshade () Jacob looked around. "Why are there so many doors?" He asked. His voice got deeper and he repl. "It's a puzzle you idiot." His voice went back to normal and he replied to himself again. "This isn't a puzzle, it's just luck." He started to say somehing in the deep voice but he cut himself off. "Be quite I'm thinking."

Skybird™ EliteHotDog Ivyshade ) Nico frowned. He looked at Martin's wounds. He hadn't realized he was still holding the cloth. "Here," he said, handing it to him. His eyes flitted upwards for a second then retrned back to Martin.

Sky was quiet as she stood off away from everyone else. Her body was visibly jerking and shaking as she dug her toes into the floor, her mostly short blue hair in her face as she stared down. She wasn't very sure what to do or if any ideas she'd come up with would be good. So, she stayed quiet.
