Marbleface didn't hesitate to follow after the bengal tom. He made her small frame look even smaller, though she didn't mind. She was small but fierce, and she took pride in how she was sometimes able to surprise others with her sometimes fiery attitude. Though she wanted to keep it neatly tucked away tonight, seem civil for the time being. Maybe once she got more comfortable around him he would begin to see that side of her, but at the present only her family saw it. Especially her parents, she despised them with a burning passion. Silentpaw she was more indifferent to, just wanted nothing to do with her. She matched his pace, her legs having to move twice as fast as his. That was the one problem with being small. "At least it isn't too windy tonight." She commented to break the silence. Both of the felines had short pelts so she bet the wind tore through his fur as it did with hers. And the crisp leaf-fall winds had her squirming uncomfortably lately, yet excitedly lately. She was a strange specimen. "Though I am looking forward to the colder weather, I always found it comforting in a way." That probably made him think she was weird, she realized and made a cringing face looking away. What kind of cat actually enjoyed the numbing cold anyways?

Jaguarclaw didn't notice the she-cat working double time to match his strides. Heat flooded his ears at the sudden realization. What had gotten into him? Normally he was very careful about things like this, but today just seemed to be one of his off days. Cautiously, the large tom shortened his strides and slowed his pace down, just enough so it was barely noticeable. He didn't know Marbleface that well and he didn't want to make it seem like he noticed her efforts.

The Bengal's ears swirled towards her, listening although his yellow hues were darting around the trees. He took note of the open moors and the breeze that drifted through the grass causing them to sway. He couldn't help but think how miserable that must be, the moors were no place for a Shadowclan warrior. Jaguarclaw nodded his agreement towards her about the wind before her next few words took him by surprise. "You really enjoy the cold weather then? The harshest of seasons for all clan?" his deep voice rang. A chill ran up his spine just thinking about the harsh times just around the corner.

Marbleface had somewhat expected that answer, she wished that she hadn't let the opinion slip. She didn't really want to explain why either. It was bleak and lonely, she related to it and enjoyed it because of that. She was born just before the last leaf-bare and the cold numbness it had brought her had been comforting through her family's hectic life. Her emerald eyes were a deep troubled color as she let her eyes wander up the moors, trying to turn them away from Jaguarclaw so that he wouldn't notice. "With my white pelt it's easier to hunt." She explained instead. In a way it was true, but it just wasn't the real reason why she enjoyed the cold. The mottled cat tried to lighten her mood as she stared across the open space of the moors. She often wished she had been born into that clan, where she could use her agility to race through the big open fields. Though she also enjoyed the comfort and gloominess of her home in Shadowclan. She truly was a Shadowclan cat at heart, but she was a dreamer of sorts and definitely an adventurer. Being confined to a border sort of constricted her wandering spirit. Though she wanted to be the best, most loyal warrior in the clan more than she wanted to explore and experience the world beyond her territories.
The dreams brought a small smile to her face and she glanced back at Jaguarclaw, now that she felt confident enough to make eye contact again. "Which is your favorite season?" She asked it more out of politeness than curiosity, for it was always nice to ask someone's opinion just after you had announced yours. Plus knowing what living condition a cat like the most offered a lot about their personality, and she [I]was[I] curious as to what type of cat Jaguarclaw really was underneath his mannerism.

Jaguarclaw took into account that her white pelt would make her a much better hunter in leaf-bare. [I]Surely that couldn't be the only reason why was it? He didn't want to push her into answering the question. Instead the Bengal simply nodded in agreement, his soft hues moving towards the open moors once more. Thankfully there's been no sign of Windclan cats or any signs of them crossing the border, but deep down he sort of wished for that excitement. Clan life could be boring sometimes. Restrictions and borders all crashing down on his shoulders. The rules that he must always keep in mind. Jaguarclaw sometimes wished he could see what life would be like outside of the clans, but he knew voicing these thoughts could send him into a world of hurt. His reputation would falter and the respect many cats showed him would dissipate.

The tom-cat shook his head to clear it. This wasn't time for those thoughts to fester. Right now he was holding a conversation with a clan mate. As much as he enjoyed thinking about life outside the clans, he loved attention from she-cats. It could be frowned upon, but he didn't care. He made up for this act by acting gentleman-like. He made sure they were treated well and with the respect the need, but don't get him wrong, he'll defend his clan mates in this way as well. You could say he's just a bit biased. Jaguarclaw blinked, his hues shifting towards Marbleface again. His green hues, soft and filled with wonder. "Well I do enjoy new-leaf," he began, thinking about the season where everything came back to life. "It's gorgeous during that time. Everything is renewed and beginning to thrive. Hunting becomes less of a task and just the welcoming sense about it from about all cats is delightful," he finished, his hues dancing with delight now that he had shared his thoughts.

Marbledface wasn't thrilled by his answer, new-leaf and green-leaf were always the most popular of seasons. Though she supposed newness and a fresh start was attractive in a way to her. It was what she had been trying to do since she broke away from her family, though they still seemed to hang onto his pelt like a shadow. She sniffed at a tree, making sure the markers were strong. She did it not really only for checking the marker though, she also needed to stretch. The mottled molly had found that regular stretching helped her shoulder to stay loose and relaxed, making her longer patrols easier to disguise. She didn't look at Jaguarclaw while she did so, afraid her expression would give something away. Her eyes did scrunch shut and her forehead wrinkled a bit at the discomfort of the stretch, but within a breath she was back on her feet and trotting to catch up again. "I suppose that is another great season in its own ways." She said with a nod, glancing up at him. Then she tilted her nose to catch the breeze. The smell of Windclan warriors was distant and stale, this would just be another round of the border without anything of interest taking place. She suppressed a sigh at the thought of a boring border patrol she didn't want it to seem like she wasn't enjoying the tom's presence, because it was quite the contrary. The molly found herself stealing glances at his gleaming patterned coat quite often, admiring it. Though she made sure to glance quickly, hoping he wouldn't be able to notice if she took quick peaks.

Jaguarclaw had glanced away while she bothered with the tree. The only thing that showed he acknowledged her sudden absence from his side was his pace slowed dramatically, allowing her to catch up easily. The tom-cat didn't question what had really caused her stop. Most cats he patrolled with didn't stop unless the markings were weak, they normally scented them as they went by. He could sense the discomfort roll off her for a moment then disappear. Although, again, he didn't say anything. The tom-cat simply picked up the pace once she was back by his side.

His green hues were wandering about the pine forest while the air ran across his scent glands, taking in anything that may be suspicious or out of place. So far there was nothing new. Windclan scent was stale. There was a stale scent of fox, although he assumed it was nothing to worry about, it seemed to be several days old. The silence between them seemed to drag on as the strolled along. Unable to take it much longer, Jaguarclaw's hues shifted towards the she-cat catching her turn away quickly. His whiskers twitched ever so slightly, jumping to a conclusion, but not bringing it up. That seemed to be a common theme for the warrior. If he thinks the other will react badly towards a topic, he won't ask. Sure, that left many questions unanswered, but he believed there was a time and place for certain topics. "Marbledface," he began, acting casual as if he didn't see her glance. "I don't believe we'll be seeing anything exciting today," he spoke what he hoped to be both their thoughts.

Marbledface sighed at the truth of the tom's words, keeping her emerald gaze focused on the moors of windclan. They were beginning to become sparse, scattered with rugged pine trees signalling they were nearing the end of their patrol of the border and would have to travel through their own territory again. Maybe since it had been uneventful they would pick up some prey to return to the clan with. "Yes, there isn't a fresh scent to be found on the air." Her voice was that of another sigh, a disappointment. "Though I suppose once leaf-bare comes and things are more difficult we will want days like this again. I feel like there will be more trespassing once leaf-bare settles and prey become sparse." She said, there was an obvious not of excitement in her voice. She had never been in a scrap against another clan yet and she was quite looking forward to it. Maybe she ought to not be so set on fighting, and that aspect of being a warrior, but she couldn't help it. Being a warrior was dull when it was simply meeting the responsibility of constantly checking borders and feeding the clan.

Jaguarclaw gave her a small nod of agreement. Leaf-bare always seemed to be the season of tension. It wasn't surprising if wars broke out during that season. If a clan was weak and stealing, it makes them vulnerable and merely asking for a battle between clans. Pray that Shadowclan doesn't get caught stealing. That type of tension would be dreadful right before such a harsh season. "Agreed," he replied, his soft green hues sweeping across the she-cats pelt quickly before they darted away towards the slow shift in scenery. He couldn't help but admire the she-act mentally.

The tom-cat decided to reply a bit more. "As long as Windclan stay on their side," he spoke knowing that of all clans, Windclan seemed to have the hardest time in leaf-bare as most of their prey revolves around hares. Although he had to think of his own clan to think about. Prey for them would become more scarce and he knew well that any prey they caught now would be welcomed in camp. With this in mind, his gaze shifted back towards Marbledface. "Perhaps we could catch a piece of prey or two to bring back. That'll give us something somewhat exciting to do," he suggested.

Marbledface turned to look at him again as he agreed with her, relaxing a little again. She smiled at his response, and the thought of WindClan trespassing sent a shiver of excitement down the young molly's spine. She nodded her head to his statement about prey, the clan needed it and they should make use of their time, but her head was stuck in the idea of battle now. Her steps became a little bouncier as they continued along and she kept WindClan as their topic of conversation. "I'm excited though, I think it will be fun to finally defend the clan! I want to prove my position here." Her eyes were filled with hunger for a battle. Not really blood-thirst, but more so hunger for a chance to finally, really prove herself. She always felt like she needed to prove herself. Prove that she belonged here, prove that she was strong despite her injury, prove this, that and everything. She picked up her bouncing pace as she continued talking. "Have you ever been in a battle Jaguarclaw?" Her mottled pelt was raised with excitement, her tail twitching behind her with hopes that he had a good story.

Jaguarclaw couldn't help but give out a small chuckle of amusement. His whiskers twitched once more as his gaze rested on the other warrior again. They had a slight gleam to them seeing that talking of battle brought out a happier side to her. Although her question stumped him. He personally hadn't used his claws for anything other than hunting for the reason that he hadn't needed to. The Bengal was well-aware that she'd be a bit disappointed, but honesty was the only thing he ever spoke. The sudden pace picking up caused his strides to lengthen to keep up with her bouncier step. "Well I haven't personally. I settle things with talk before I use my claws, but I'll prove I'm not weak any day of the weak if someone challenges me," he spoke, determination flared in his green hues. Jaguarclaw took note of how the idea of battle excited her. Why was this? Perhaps it was just what a warrior was supposed to be excited for? He took this guess and let it sink in. Jaguarclaw wasn't one for physical fights, if they could be avoided through talk, then he'd try. This feline may not always be like this though. He was quite protective and won't hesitate to claw the ears off someone who threatened a cat he truly cared about. His protectiveness made him unpredictable. Anything could trigger it, although he hadn't grown close to anyone in the clan for such a thing to occur. "What about you?" he asked in return, curious if she had been apart of a battle or a scuffle before. It wouldn't surprise him, although he couldn't help but be a bit concerned for Marbledface's excitement for battle.

October 13th, 2016, 03:59 PM
Marbledface saw that he didn't mirror her excitement for battle and slowed her pace back down. She felt a little childish and embarrassed that she had acted so excited about it now. Her pelt twitched uncomfortably and she quickly shook her head. Though she knew it was a lie, but she's rather not advertise that she and her father had had a scrap. She'd won, but it was nothing to be proud about. He was a loner who'd abandoned her mother and ruined her life, she wasn't going to comply to him and he'd been the first to threat so she'd acted. She tried not a make a big deal about fighting now that Jaguarclaw hadn't been so enthused though, looking away like it wasn't a big deal. Quickly she picked up the other topic that had been previously mentioned. "We should head into the territory now, catch something to take back to the clan." She said, she tried to sound enthusiastic about it but she really wasn't. She just felt that everything she had said this whole trip had been the wrong thing to say. Maybe her and Jaguardclaw were just really different...Her tail twitched uncomfortably as she turned to look back at him for an answer.

The Savannah's pale gaze followed that of Gorsefeather's the the wind rippled trees. He did not share the same intellectual insight that Gorsefeather had, but still. "'The Change' will need some planning." He started. "Sorrelskip and I talked earlier and we decided that we should visit the other leaders, the ones who seem to have started this Change." He paused taking a side glance at the tom. "Don't get me wrong, I will not be relying on Bucknight fully. This will be our Clan to rule. Bucknight is only needed for some starting support. Once we talk to him we need to gather as many followers as possible. Right now all we have is you, Sorrelskip and I." He finished going back over the few plans that Sorrelskip ad he had discussed.

Gorsefeather noded slightly as he listened to the tom's plan. He went through to a couple times to make sure he hade 'hollowed' it. He looked back up to Singeflicker. Gorsefeather shifted his paws slightly. He began to ponder the plan. The tom straightened up and gazed at him. "May I accompany you on your meet with the leaders?" He started. "I suggest we do this at night, so we have better luck with escaping camp." He said slyly. He thought about how the meeting would go. Hopefully Bucknight would be resonable. He thought about the RiverClan leader. Some say he is insane, but that's just what we need right now. Bucknight'ss condition means 'out-of-the-box' thinking, and that is just what they need. He began to think about Blazingnight. Gorsefeather didn't know much about the she-cat...but maybe she was a bit like Bucknight?

Singeflicker gave a nod. "That's mainly why I asked you to meet me here." He mewed with a slightly hushed tone of voice. Now that they had gotten some planning done, Singeflicker was slightly on edge in thinking that someone would overhear them and put an end to it before the Change ever started. "So yes, you will be accompanying us, as I see it unwise to do the meeting alone in case something were to go askew." He said. "And at night would be the best time, your right. The hardest part will be getting past the night watch at the camp. Other than that it should be clear sailing until we reach the border and meet."

Gorsefeather nodded slightly. He tried to go back over what he had heard today, concerning the night guard. "Hopefully the night guard will support 'The Change'." He meowed, the slight discomforted. He didn't like the idea of having to get past the guard, but he would do it for Singeflicker's sake. He shifted his paws, not knowing what to say next. He gazed around, looking for something to inspire his words. Gorsefeather was not much for a long conversation, but he felt he needed to revive the conversation. "I could try and find out who the night guard is? After that, I could try and convince them to support us." He suggested. Gorsefeather curled his tail around his paws and slightly relaxed.

"Yes, good idea. That's another thing that would be very helpful for you do do." He nodded. Singeflicker had the nervous feeling in his stomach again that had overcome him earlier. Then it hadn't been as noticeable, but he knew it was from thinking about what was in the near future.
(Sorry it's so short! Also we're not going to have time to do the meeting. I believe the fire for the TC and WC takeover are happening tomorrow)

Gorsefeather looked Singeflicker over. The Savannah cat seemed bothered by something. Gorsefeather decided it was time end their meeting, he didn't want their future leader distressed before the meeting. Besides, he had to gather more cats to support them. Gorsefeather dipped his head dismissively and stood up. "I really must be on my way, Singeflicker. I have to gather more cats to support us. You on the other half, have planning to do." He meowed dismissively. Gorsefeather yawned and stretched. His pale eyes widened and narrowed again. He reached back and began to groom his calico fur.

The fire was looming in the distance, burning down everything it touched and tearing it apart. The roar of it was but a faint whisper to the cat who raced across the moors, pelt bristled. There were so many emotions slashing through her as her claws dug into the dirt, sending it flying as she raced forward. Terror, worry, anger, sadness. Those four were what overcame her most, but only the fear and worry was visible now. She reached the top of a hill near the border shared with ShadowClan and slowed, turning to stare at the orange, yellow, and red glow that had claimed so many trees and was starting to lap at the grasses of the hearth. Sucking in a breath, she fought the urge to return home. Her mother had already called for an evacuation, everyone would be safe and alright. But Liontuft, she didn't know if he was okay. The fire hadn't even neared the marshes, but worry for the tom lured her more than anything else. Taking a deep breath she turned and began to race down the sloop, picking up speed with the momentum and then slowing as the border was only a few fox-lengths away. Standing there, her eyes scanned the invisible line, searching for a specific tom. Liontuft. They hadn't seen much of each other. The newness of being a young warrior rubbing off, they had sunk into a line of duty that didn't give much free time. But the care she felt for him was stronger than waht she felt for some of her own family. Perhaps all of her own family.
"Liontuft?" She called out softly, not wanting to be detected by other ShadowClan warriors, but needing to see him. Make sure he was alright, show him she was safe. Keep him informed. "Liontuft!" She suddenly called out louder than intended, and she backed a few paces away, racing down the scent line, farther from her own camp, away from the fire. Her eyes never left the foliage of ShadowClan territory. All she could do was search for his pelt. There would be no rest until he was found. "Liontuft!" She called out again, her voice cracking and she suddenly came to a stop, staring ahead into the unknowns of the marshes. She took in a shaky breath, fell into a sitting position, and a choked sob left her. Hatred for herself burned through her veins for abandoning her clan for someone in ShadowClan. There could be kits burning alive, elders falling and dying because of the smoke. And here she was, crying at the ShadowClan border, waiting for a tom who probably wouldn't come.
When was the last time she saw him? Suddenly it felt like an eternity.

Liontuft closed the distance, and leaped forward to tackle her, determined to feel her fur and realize it was truly her and not Dapplestar in disguise. "StarClan I feared that fire had claimed you!"

StarClan, that's right. She fell silent for a moment as she thought on their ancestors, looking up to the sky, which had become quite cloudy, and sent a silent pray of thanks. Then the rain started to fall, and a wave of relief overcame her. Turning her head towards Liontuft, she brushed her muzzle against his. "Yes, we have StarClan." Driftstream had never been a devoted cat towards those who have passed, considering her mother had stopped believing in them entirely for a time, and still didn't talk much about them, but she always had faith in them, even if it wasn't obvious. Suddenly she felt guilt for neglecting her ancestors, and she vowed then that her faith in them would become stronger, she wouldn't let her mother's thoughts influence hers on the dead, she would have faith in those that watch over and protect the four clans. Faith in StarClan is all she needed, besides Liontuft.

As the rain began to fall, making the tom's golden fur stick and cling to his muscular form, he nuzzled her softly. "See," he meowed, amazed some at the convenience of the rain when it had been a perfectly clear day earlier on. Perhaps there was some truth to the stories of StarClan? He licked her brow, and watched as the fires were slowly put out. "You have the ancestors on your side."

Driftstream's eyes focused on the dying flames in the distance and she was relieved to know most of the moors lay untouched, though she knew the camp would have to be relocated for the time being, again. They moved camps more often than a clan should. Turning her head to Liontuft, she smiled softly, "Yeah, seems like I do." Despite her growing faith that StarClan would be there, she had her doubts about what could happen to her clan. She didn't even know her mother had lost power, that an evil ruler has taken over once more. That would be a later discovery, one she won't want to hear. CLuelessness is a virtue she must carry for now.

The molly wasn't sure why she was there. She was just drawn. Like something would happen. Something special. Something important. Something new. She stopped, though, a strangely familiar moorland scent wafted across her nostrils. It wasn't Hazelpaw was it? She wondered, following the scent curiously. No, the moor scent wasn't strong enough. It had a twang of pine, oak and fresh water. A loner? How did she recognize the scent then? She hadn't run in with a loner in moons. Smokeblossom pushed through the last of the ferns, separating her from the scent, now mingled with a slight infectious smell. Worriedly her yellow, soft gaze pierced through the bushes before her paws did. "F-Frogspirit?" She asked in astonishment, recognizing the ex-Windclan tom cat that had helped Halestorm's coalition as they returned to the Clans. "Oh m-my gosh, F-frogspirit, w-what happened t-to you?" She asked rushing to the toms side. She did not know him all too well, but well enough to know that they were decent friends, or at least she thought so.

Brokenpaw narrowed his eyes at the spottted apprentice, not really buying the change of subject, but he eat it slide, he didn't want to push them into saying something they didn't need want to. "I'm quite alright, I should be getting my Warrior ceremony soon now that my paw I see feeling much better. How are you?" he asked, his voice gave nothing away, not emotion, no excitement, happiness, nothing. But he was feeling hurt, betrayed, and he didn't understand why, his heart felt like it was stabbed, clawed, ripped. Ebonypaw and Rosestorm were aloneness out here, and neither of them were telling them what they were doing, he felt betrayed. The black and white tom flattned his ears "Nevermind, you guys seem busy, I'll just leave you two." he said, trying to sound serious instead of a whining kit that isn't able to go outside. He turned and began to pad away, the further away he got the more his heart broke, he didn't understand it, he didn't really want to either, afraid of what the answer may be, although he may already know it.

Rosestorm blinked. She recognized the other tom as... Brokenpaw, was it? Never mind, though the black and white's tom flashes with... pain? Surely not, the molly didn't know the Shadowclan tom that well, and Ebonypaw was from another clan. The tabby turned to Ebonypaw, confusion plain in her eyes, though somewhat admiration, which was slightly hidden. Then again, she didn't know the Windclan tom that well, and they were fighting... why did she look at him like that? Rosestorm shook her head, still confused as he slowly padded away.

Smokeblossom had been on a rather small patrol, just wandering the forest in search of prey. The patrol had remained quiet, leaving the young Angora to her thoughts. Her being alone in her own mind was both a good and bad thing. Sometimes she managed to wander as she thought, going over different scenarios, and getting lost. It had happened once or twice during her time in the outskirts of the Clan during her exile. She sighed, clearing her mind choosing to focus on the task at hand. As she traveled further from them, she felt free-er, almost. She always felt trapped in her mind when no one talked. She couldn't speak to herself for company, nor was she good at starting a conversation. It was always awkward when she did. "Ugh I can't help but wonder if life was simpler when I was in a Clan. The duties and responsibilities I have, they're stressful. But where would I be if I didn't have Shadowclan in the first place? Dead most likely. Rustic would have probably killed me by now." She stopped at the verbal thought. Would he have? A vivid image of her brother flashed through her mind, giving her a chill that spiked along her spine.Rusticash hated her because of what happened to their parents. Sure it wasn't her fault, but it was how he had dealt with his anger and rage. She knew that and could never bring herself to hate him for that very reason. "I owe Shadowclan my life, that's why I stay here. This is all I can remember, all my friends and family live here. Shadowclan is my home." She told her self affirmatively. She stopped, though, a strangely familiar moorland scent wafted across her nostrils. It wasn't Hazelpaw was it? She wondered, following the scent curiously. No, the moor scent wasn't strong enough. The black and white tom shifted once he heard pawsteps. Pricking his ears, he straightened weakly into a sitting position, wincing slightly, Frogspirit let his yellow gaze rest on the ferns swishing nearby. His pelt rippled with unease. The wind was blowing the wrong direction for him to scent anything so he didn't know what was coming towards him. Although a feline figure pushed her way through and he relaxed just slightly. As she spoke his name, he seemed confused for a moment. He didn't know where this cat was from. That was until her scent drifted around his tongue and his eyes widened. "Smokeblossom? What are you doing out here?" he asked, but flinched when she rushed towards him. Looking over his unkept pelt and the infections around his leg and hip, he suddenly felt hot with embarrassment. Why'd she have see him like this? Frogspirit opened his mouth to reply, but stopped himself thinking of the simplest way of putting it. Two words popped into his head. "Shadowclan liberation," he spoke simply, his voice was raspy and hoarse. His yellow hues clouded over with pain once more as he shifted on his paws nervously.

"W-what did I do?" She protested, stepping back once he stepped forwards. Ebonypaw was a better fighter than herself, which scared Rosestorm. "How's it my fault?" She replied, quickly darting her gaze to the disappearing black and white tom. Surely he would stand up for his own clanmate? Smokeblossom continued sniffing his unkept pelt. She felt a rush of sympathy and compassion for the tom cat. She had heard clips of his history during the brief time she spent with him during the period of exile. She knew he had left Windclan, but she couldn't pinpoint the exact reason why. She knew he had a family he had left behind too, and she knew it must have been hard. But after departing ways and splitting off, she had thought that the warrior would have returned to Windclan, helped liberate it and move back in with his clan and family. Apparently though, she had assumed wrong. Now here he was, tattered hand torn, infection reeking through his fur. She had spent only brief times around infectious cats, but she knew the smell when she came across it, it was a scent that most warriors should know by heart, just like the scent of prey. She noticed the toms stiffness and could sense his uneasiness. Politely she backed away, a little ashamed of herself for approaching him rather closely without asking. She had just done it, but she had only been trying to assist him. He waited for the warrior to finish talking before he let out a small sigh and shook his head. "No clan cat should help me, I don't need the help anyhow," he replied stiffly, raising his left leg and drawing his tongue over the exposed wound. He had grown to the taste, though it was still revolting, he didn't gag doing it. Although up close you see it's inflamed redness and liquid oozing from it. He was going to be a little stubborn about this. He knew it was infected, but he was so set that he could heal it himself, he didn't even think about going to the medicine cat. Blinking his thoughts away, Frogspirit's gaze rested back on the she-cat. She had backed away from him, but he could read the sympathy lining her hues.

"This infection won't kill me," he huffed, but ironically gave a single cough afterwards. His small cough started about three days beforehand, it wasn't terrible, but it was getting a little worse. He'd been drinking from melted snow puddles or whenever the streams were a bit more thawed to soothe his drying throat, however at this moment he couldn't do that. Knowing he'd begin to cough more, he looked towards the snow around him. If I have to, I'll just eat the snow, he decided mentally before looking back up at Smokeblossom. "I may not know medicine, but I know how to take care of myself," he spoke, his voice got a little raspy towards the end of the sentence, but cleared up before he finished. The black and white tom blinked, beginning to understand her offer. Frogspirit didn't know how to reply to the last statement and instead looked away from her. Suddenly he realized if she pressed on about returning his help, he wouldn't have a choice but to accept.

{*wheezes* finally caught up}
Brokenpaw heard snarls and soft whimerping, the sounds made his skin crawl, made him question his previous actions, had he acted too hastily? The black and white tom turned and began to pad back, stopping himself when he was close enough to see them, he didn't know if it wasn't the right thing to do, they seemed busy and he didn't want to bother them, but the thought of the two being together made his blood boil, made him want to claw the molly apart, no, no, not Rosestorm, no, Ebonypaw. He wanted to claw him for ripping his heart out of his chest and slashing it, for hacking it to pieces, for hurting him more than anyone else ever has. His blue hues began to water, and it angered him even more, that he was acting like a love struck molly, not that he wasn't that is, he vigorously shook his head and flattned his ears, strolling out to the two once more, though he didn't believe he'd get this far, but he wasn't thinking at the time, all he felt was hatred and depression, all he saw was a traitor and red "So I'm nothing but entertainment? Something to make yourself feel better? I thought out feelings were mutual, seems as though I was wrong, so horribly, horribly wrong." he spat, his fur fluffed up, he didn't take notice to the warrior, though at this point he didn't care, nothing else existed at this moment except for him and Ebonypaw. Anger, sadness, and dissapointment danced in his blue obs, he was oozing depression and longing, he knew how whinny he sounded, how desperate, but I felt it didn't work atleast he would still have Dewpaw by his side "Dewpaw was right, you don't care." he said, his voice wavering, though he tried to say it with confidence and anger, it only came out as sad and hopeful, he hated having these emotions but he knew he couldn't do anything about it. He continued to look at Ebonypaw, wondering what was running through the spotted apprentices mind at the moment.

The molly felt a sudden urge of curiosity and... sadness? No. Just no. They just met; and from different clans, surely that would stop herself. But no. Of course not. Spotting the tree, the young warrior gripped her claws onto its bark, beginning to pull herself up, repeating the process until a branch was in reach. Brokenpaw lifted his head, heartbreak evident in his blue hues, he didn't know that it wasn't just him, he thought Ebonypaw felt the same, but in the end it truely was a one sided love. He let his fur flatten and hung his head, he thought too deeply about it, he wasn't thinking correctly and now his friend felt horrible, though yes he was still mad at the spotted tom for not noticing his suttle hints, he didn't blame him, this was his first time feeling like this after all. The black and white tom looked at his paws for a few moments before painting a big grin on his face "Got you! You were always saying that hunting was boring so I thought I did mix it up a bit!" he said, he forced it to sound happy, forced it to sound believable, though it probably didn't it was better than telling the other the Truth "I'm such an awful friend, I actually made you feel bad! I'll make up for it, I'll do whatever you want." he said, letting out an airy laugh, though he couldn't hold back his feelings, his anguish, his depression, confusion, and most of all his love, it came spilling out, teardrops splashed against the snow covered ground. His blue hues widened and he shook his head, trying to mask his pain with a smile "I snagged my fur on a sharp branch, it still really stings." he lied, laughing a bit at the last words. He turned and looked at Rosestorm, nothing but a smile plastered on his face "No it's quite alright, you don't have to leave, I was just being stupid." he stated, tilting his head to the side, none of his emotions were evident, nothing being given away as he spoke to the molly, he didn't want to be alone with the one he loved, he didn't want to be alone with the one ho didn't oplove him back, it would rip his heart even more if he did. When he turned to look at the Shadowclan warrior she was already gone, the apprentice froze, fear gripped his abused heart, he was alone, with Ebonypaw, how could this possibly get any worse?

He wasn't sure whom he wanted to see more, Brokenpaw or Rosestorm, but he didn't care, he just wanted to talk with one of them. The tom found himself leaning more toward Brokenpaw but pushed the thought away, returning to his search for one of the two cats. Maybe I should be getting back to camp? No, I need to at least bring some prey back for the clan. She sat down and carefully began to groom herself.

Honestly, Galespring had been in one of the best moods she'd ever experienced lately- ever since she'd found herself a pair of friends she could trust, slowly beginning to move past all the singular things she'd blamed herself for- things that had lead to the death of somebody she'd been close to. Letting out a sigh, the lean she-cat began to try and scent for prey- despite how much she tried not to admit it, she'd always had an affinity for hunting by the pine forests of Shadowclan. She'd never trusted Halestar or any cats who had lived there, but something about the territory came to her naturally, as if it reminded her of something. Keeping her head to the ground as she scanned the ground for prey, Galespring seemed to be focused on getting something for the clan- she'd been goofing off much more lately, and felt that she had to provide for her own clan in order to make up for it. She wasn't a kit, elder, nor a queen, and so hunting was one of her duties by default. However, as she lifted her head up for another quick look around, she did recognize another Windclanner near her- one she didn't seem to be close to. She never outright insulted Sagewhisker, but sometimes it felt as it she made the other molly uncomfortable, in a way. Anyways, if I want to start making up for my past actions, I should try and talk to her- see if we've got bad blood between us. "...Oh- hey, Sagewhisker!" She huffed as she raced towards the tortoiseshell she-cat, her eyes sparkling in the afternoon sun. "How's, er... How's your day going?"

Brokenpaw pushed his way through the bushes, his fur snagging onto the branches, making his fur ruffle and tangle a little more than it was. The black and white siberian looked around, his blue hues trying to spot a certian windclan warrior. The two promised to meet up at around this time, he just hoped that the other molly wasn't there to ruin their time together again. After the tom thought that he felt the heat rise to his fur, emberassed about the fact that he held such feelings twards the other tom, strong, uncontrollable feelings. He shook his head, trying to get rid of his thoughts, he had to focus on the task at hand, not the past, today was the day that the two were going to try and figure out a way to help Brokenpaw into Windclan, he didn't truely love his clan, it held too many bad memories, too many awful expariances, he wanted to leave it behind, start a new life, in a new clan. After collecting his thoughts the siberian tom sat himself down and neatly wrapped his tail around his paws, listening and looking around, hoping that Ebonypaw would show up soon.

The spotted warrior picked his way through the territory, a rabbit in his jaws. A familiar scent filled his nostrils and he dropped the rabbit, sprinting forward with a small smile plastered on his face. The tom had to stop hard to keep himself from running the black and white apprentice over, "Brokenpaw!" His voice was filled with happiness as he purred, "I'm glad you're here, but what if a patrol spots us?" His amber gaze glided across the territory before resting again on the handsome Shadowclan tom in front of him, "How are you?" The new warrior was relieved to see the tom again, though his feelings for the cat were still confusing him. He felt his face get hot and pushed the thoughts away, trying to stay calm. Ebonyflicker didn't know why he was reacting this way but he just guessed he was nervous around him.

[This will have to work x.x Blazing's duplicate is in the territory already]
Blazingstar had already took lead of the patrol, walking along the edge of their territory, glancing around and scenting the air. Shadowclan made him fairly uneasy and despite the new leadership, at the last gathering, Halestar didn't seem to fond of anyone but Skyclan. They weren't merely doing a border patrol, it was a mix of a border patrol and a hunting party. Alas, no hares had decided to venture from their burrows today, not as far as they could tell at least. "So, Nightwatcher," he spoke calmly, blinking towards her. "What made you decide to ask me and not another warrior?" he inquired, tilting his head a little, although clearly more amused by the entire thing, not necessarily upset about it.

Nightwatcher padded close behind him, staring off into the distant territory, her gaze unwavering. As they walked, his question drew her out of thought and she turned to him noticing h was already looking at her. "Well, I thought it would be better for me to go with the leader." she replied with a shrug, even though the shrug was to hide her shyness that lingered on her.She hadn't really taked to Blazing and thought she could get to know him. Mostly so she could protect him, which would protect her clan. All though she did like him and he seemed like a good leader indeed.

Blazingstar raised a brow and shrugged. "Better for you how?" he pushed on, wondering just how far into depth he could get this she-cat. Surely there was a reason better than the one she gave him. He wasn't focused on the patrol anymore, he was more curious about the warrior he was walking with. He'd never spoken to her before so this was quite a new experience for the leader. As it always came to show, Blazingstar was rather talkative and wasn't afraid to push others buttons. He means no harm, however it still got him into trouble because he acted like a kit time to time. Although that shouldn't be surprising as the majority of the clan should've already known that. Well at least he hoped. All the ginger cat knew was that Nightwatcher had set herself up for an interrogation about who she was and why she did what she did.... but in a playful manner.

I wanna make sure you and the clan are safe..." she said, and she breathed in, catching the scent of a mouse off to their left. She thought about taking it but then shrugged it off, for since she hadn't eaten in a while she didn't want her instinct to take over and she eat the mouse. She then padded along the border and tried to keep her gaze focused.

Blazingstar blinked, looking a little unsatisfied with the answer. "I don't need protecting, you guys do. I have nine lives to offer you whilst you have the one. Don't waste that if I cannot be saved," he replied, suddenly serious. It was true though. Blazingstar didn't want his clan mates to die for his cause if he couldn't be saved in the first place. However, he turned the topic back on him. "But, how does that better you," he inquired, a serious tone in his voice still. Nightwatcher didn't know how to reply to his question, how to explain, and so she remained silent, her gaze suddenly softened into sadness. Finally she drew in a breath and spoke up. "Because All my 'one life' I've been trying to protect everyone. My friends and family, and it seems like they lose their lives rather then me losing mine. If I die, hat's no problem, but you could lose those nine lives in moons or in seconds. then this clan would suffer yet again." she said, not her voice hardened and serious. "I am nothing compared to you. And I have had a goal to protect someone, and that person always ended up dying. I can't let that happen to you." she said, and decided to change the subject and go after the mouse. She passed infront of him and padded past and stalked towards the mouse, staying silent. Just keep your explanations simple... she thought.

Blazingstar listened, however before he could reply, the she-cat had pushed passed him and seemed to be focused on hunting. A bitter taste filled his mouth, he wished he could've said something, but now the topic would drop because their conversation wouldn't mean anything in about 2 minutes. The ginger tom crouched down, lowering himself so his belly fur brushed the snow. He merely did this so he didn't scare the prey she was after. He was so focused on their conversation, he let the mouse scent drift right by him, but he didn't think like that, Nightwatcher had it now. Silently Blazingstar awaited, wondering what they would talk about on the rest of the patrol since this simply wasn't the topic to be discussing in the first place.

Nightwatcher kept low, her orange eyes focused. Her empty stomach growled and she tried to surpress it, but too late, and the mouse made a run for it. She then lunged and caught the mouse in her claws, and bit it's neck, and squeezed, and the mouse slowly fell limp in her jaws. The taste of it's blood made her mouse water but she then dropped the mouse and licked her lips. This isn't for me, this is for my clan... she thought and inhaled, then grabbed the mouse again and suppressed her stomach growl as she padded by the leader, hoping he couldn't hear her.

Once Nightwatcher was in sight again, the young leader stood back up and gave her a head tilt. Despite her catch, she didn't look pleased at all, more of a suffering look if anything. "Good catch," he commented as his pelt was given a good shake to rid any frost or snow that happened to cling onto his long pelt. Blazingstar let out a small sigh, although silent, he studied Nightwatcher's movements. Something was off about her hunting. "Are you alright?" he asked. Perhaps she was hungry? He wasn't close enough to hear that her stomach was growling, however it was an assumption.

Nightwatcher nodded slowly. "Fine..." she replied through the mouse's fur. The molly sighed and looked around the edge of the border, keeping her gaze away from his eyes. Her eyes were what broke her stoicness. One good look and someone could tell is she was truly okay or not. She hated her eyes sometimes for this fact. She padded around and tried to sense past the mouse but her hunger was too strong. Hopefully the leader could sense anything.

The fur along the ginger tom's spine prickled with suspicion. Something wasn't right with Nightwatcher, and he wasn't going to let her answer slide. Stubbornly, the leader sat down and allowed his tail to run across the surface of the ground as it lashed. "What's wrong?" he asked, he could sense the unease coming from Nightwatcher and he simply wasn't going to continue on without an answer. Blazingstar was acting like a kit throwing a fit. He had mentally decided not to move from his spot, even if she decided to continue on. Even his golden hues challenged her not to answer his question or try to avoid it.

Now this was getting on her nerves. Nightwatcher, however, forgot her eye avoiding as she turned to the leader. "What's wrong...?" she scoffed. "Oh, I don't know, maybe that my entire family was killed and I'm being expected to move on like they are nothing. The fact that my friends left me, that I got no one left. But I don't complain, I don't push. I was taught that a true leader never does that, so Blazingstar. What does that make you?" she asked, and after a moment she realized her words and her eyes soften but her angered face expression did not. She felt much guilt at her words tough, and she hoped that at least later on, if he was angry now, he'd forgive her at some point. But she was aggravated form lack of sleep and lack of food.

Cocky as he was, the leader merely blinked. "What does that make me? he repeated, looking almost thoughtful before giving a small smirk of amusement. "Still your leader, my friend," he replied, pausing for a moment as his tail wrapped around his paws now. His normally light toned voice took a turn for an emotionless one. "I was the cause of my mentors death," he bluntly threw it out there, "I was the cause of his brother leaving the clan. I was the cause of a broken hearted family. I had no one the moment I became a warrior and I acted just like you for the longest time. I didn't think I could ever move on, but you know, life keeps going. It didn't slow down for me, it's certainly not going to slow down for you. No one's asking for you to simply forget about them and move one," there was suddenly a hint of anger in his voice, "Do you think I just moved on after my fatherly figured died and his family basically hated me? After I had witnessed that death and known I was the cause of it? No." he paused, taking a deep breath inwards. "In fact, it gave me a reason to be the best I can be, it never stopped me from becoming everything I thought I needed to be to make up for his death," he straightened himself up, seemingly not caring how Nightwatcher would take what he was saying. Now I didn't ask for your sob story because every one of us has one, but that's just the sacrifice of living in the clans. I asked what was wrong right now with you. You're acting like something is paining you. Seeing you around camp, I know you're better than this. You've barely hunted for the clan, don't think I haven't noticed. With that said, it probably means you haven't eaten. Is that what is wrong? Are you hungry?" he inquired, lifting a brow. His story didn't seem to phase him much, however, mentally the story broke him every time he told it. Although it needed to be said in this case so Nightwatcher would understand that it's not just about her in this world.

Nightwatcher felt pity in the back of her mind for the leader, how ever her story was too recent for her. His was derived over time. "Your sister still loves you..." she put in, her eyes narrowing very slightly. Then they shot open. Leaders know too much... she thought. "I'm fine Blazingstar. Besides, you got your own issues to deal with besides a little lone molly, right?" she purred mischievously. A sudden cunning look flashed in her eyes, a look only her closest friends saw. "Come on, we have to get this patrol done and whether you like it or not you'll learn that as a Leader there will be times when you won't get what you want. It's life." she meowed. By now she's half forgotten her hunger and her issue. "Plus, last time I checked, StarClan doesn't give nine lives to kits." she grumbled, trying not to snarl or growl at the leader, however he was getting on her nerves. Now it was her turn to be stubborn. "Listen, if you wanna sit out here and be stubborn, fine, but I have a border patrol I gotta finish. So go ahead and stay, but I am going to make sure my clan is safe." she said, hold in a growl, then she stood up and began to pad away but she looked back to see if he was following. If he wasn't I might just attack him... she thought though this thought wasn't true and would never really happen. She was loyal and strong and she knew how to deal with these situations. But Blazingstar's stubbornness reminds her of her own stubborn ways. A leader with similarities, huh? Wonderful... she thought, and waited for the tom to follow. Her stomach growled again and she realized her hunger once more, but she knew she had to at least wait until they got to camp. "Now let's go." she called, her voice sounding like an impatient mother.

"You can continue on, all you want, but you might be the reason why the clan's leader doesn't return to camp tonight. Like I said, until you answer my question, I won't be moving from his spot," the ginger tom didn't even seem phased by her remarks nor did he even seem to mind sitting right where he was all night. Unlike most Windclan cats, his pelt was long and thick so he could bare the cold, the worst he got was a little chilly. As a cold breeze came through, it caused his fur to ruffle and without even checking if Nightwatcher was going to return to him, he began grooming the fur on his shoulders to insure he as least seemed dignified. The thing was, Blazingstar didn't care there were foxes out, while during leaf-bare they were more vicious, he could outrun them. He'd never try to fight one on his own since there was no way a Windclan cat could single-handly defeat one, but he could outrun them and lead them away from camp.

I'm weak, I'm nearly defensive, is that what you wanted to hear?" she explained, her orange eyes staring at him, she huffed and her eyes filled with sadness although her angered look stayed.
Blazingstar was chuckling the entire time the she-cat was trying to shove him to his feet. With her final efforts done, she began talking and Blazingstar heard exactly what he wanted to hear. "So you are hungry," he replied finally, giving a small huff as he rose to his paws. Silently he padded over to where she dropped the mouse and stood in front of it, eyeing her. "I need you to eat this mouse before we can finish this patrol," he stated firmly, waiting on her once more.

Nightwatcher felt a snarl of defiance grow in her chest as the leader said she had to eat. She didn't move for a few moments before she rolled her eyes and bent down and took a bite. The taste filled her mouth and she found herself not being able to not eat the entire mouse. After she got done she licked her lips and looked at the leader. He reminded her of her brother. "There, now can we get this done?" she asked.

With a happy flick of his tail, Blazingstar merely gave Nightwatcher a small nod. He was glad the warrior finally had enough sense to swallow her pride.... and the mouse.... to continue on with what they were doing. Turning on his paws, the ginger tom-cat started trotting along the border for a few paces before coming to a sudden stop and remarking a scent marker he noticed was fairly weak. This made the tom-cat a little suspicious, however he assumed it was because the border patrols had been weak along the Shadowclan border for a while now. He'd need the inform the warriors about this border in particular later.

Galespring was tired out. She'd just went on a patrol with her best friend, and her paws ached with every step she took- yet something inside told her to keep going. Dragging herself towards the border her own clan shared with Shadowclan, she didn't understand why this specific place kept making her uncomfortable- Oh, wait- it's Shadowclan. Of course I'm going to be uncomfortable when we share a border with them. There had always been nursery tales passed around which framed Shadowclan cats as those who stalked the night, killing ruthlessly and harming the weak for nothing more than enjoyment. Her father, though being the inattentive cat he was, had always tried to emphasize these types of tales- it could be for scaring her, but she doubted it- he didn't even have the time of day to think about frightening her. Remembering these stories was able to turn her attention away from the pain in her paws, but they didn't stop the curiosity in her head from growing. They're scary, I know that, but... Why do I feel like I know this scent a little too well? She didn't have any idea that she had spent the first few moments or so of her life in the Shadowclan nursery- born to a mother of the pines. She had been taken from her home clan, Windclan, and so gave her first and so far, only child to be raised in her birthplace- which made it so she'd never known who her mother was, passed around by queens who didn't seem to bear a resemblance to her at all.

Finally. A moment to get away from Crowcall. The border, was a slight escape for the old senior warrior of Shadowclan. The wind whipped in her face, making her relax, it was a soothing thing for her, the pines was threatening, and were something of beauty, but Shallowfall still disliked the territory of Shadowclan greatly. The moorland always made her relaxed, calm, and she didn't have to worry about her mother, Crowcall, whom is probably the oldest cat in the clan, but still had the strength to keep her in this darn place. She didn't like Shadowclan, not one bit, and it always showed, ever since she was made to come here by her mother, all her littermates stayed in Windclan, but not. Her. If only I could go back.. She was the special one apparently. Shallowfall didn't feel special, not at all. Inhaling the scents of the grassland and moor, she took a look over the border, to see a cat approaching it. A look of astonishment, but also a troubled expression on her face. Galespring... She thought, going into a sitting position close to the border, tail curling around herself. Her daughter was here, at the border. Shallowfall dared not to say anything yet, nor tell her until she was ready. She had given up her only kit, just so she could let her live the life she wanted to live: as a Windclan cat, not a darn Shadowclan cat.

Slugging herself along the border quietly, Galespring's eyes looked rather tired as she huffed, shaking her head as the molly tried to focus on taking one more step after the other. Her paws had almost gone numb now, with how much she'd been walking since the day's start. Gazing to the side for a second, she could see a cat who looked to be much older than her simply sitting by the border- they were both black cats, though their amber eyes were slightly darker than her own yellow. "..." Of course, she was confused as to why anyone would sit on the border like that. To her, being so close to a clan wasn't very calming at all, and so why somebody would be settling down in a position like that sounded awful. Besides, she was lingering too long- this cat was staring at her, and she didn't exactly know what they wanted with her. "...Why are you just sitting there? Don't you have patrols to go on or something?" She huffed, seeming frustrated as they looked on so calmly. She was so worried about how Blazingstar was doing, it seemed that she'd gotten too heated herself.

Shallowfall gave a small sigh, her daughter, didn't seem happy for her to be sitting near the border. This was something she did every single day, and many cats never seemed to notice, even the ones she stared at. But, it seemed today was something very different. "To think, for only a bit.." She replied, a thoughtful expression on her face, thinking about her troubles, mainly. "No, I don't have any patrols currently, and honestly if I did, I wouldn't be out here, would I? I'm just getting away from...my troubles for a little bit." That wasn't far from the truth, she did want to get away from the troubles of living in a clan, where you feel you never, ever belong, and feel enclosed in spaces you don't want to be in.
The only thing keeping her in Shadowclan was well, her mother. Crowcall forced her to stay in Shadowclan, and as long as she's alive, it's for sure she won't be able to go where she wanted to, to be with her daughter, and reunite her family, once and for all. Shallowfall hated everything about her clan, and her mother. The evil era 2 brought out Crowcall's personality a bit more, and made her a bit more wicked than usual.

"Oh, please. You're probably in a forbidden relationship or something- though it's not like I care. They're only about the scourge of the entire forest." Galespring narrowed her eyes, her tail lashing as she hissed. The molly was under a lot of pressure lately, and unfortunately, she was taking it out on some stranger she'd just met at the border. "If that's true, you're probably gonna give up your kits to your mate across the border, right? Let them think you abandoned them- though it looks like you might be too old to love anymore." Galespring ranted, her tone having turned nasty as she continued to talk. [sorry for the short reply!]

"I was in love once, and that was....once enough." Shallowfall flinched a little, it reminded her of her mistakes, what she had done to this poor she cat in the beginning of her life. Shallowfall felt a slight sadness fill her heart. The nasty tone in her daughters voice made her optics glisten with...something. Perhaps anger. Perhaps it was something that, wanted her to give this cat some proper manners. But perhaps it was something that could scare the living daylights out of some cat, but it wasn't such a case right now. Shallowfall was not in the mood for insults, not this time, nor did the nasty tone influence her. Her mother had done enough to show her to ignore it. The black she cat reminded coolly, and coldly calm,
"I've had kits before, and they are all fine and well. Only one thing could force me to give up my kits in the past, and that had force did not do such a thing at THAT time.." Shallowfall gave a mutter, all her kits lived in Shadowclan with her, except one, which, was Galespring, but she didn't want to tell her yet, she looked too stressed for that. She only did it so Gale wouldn't have to spend her life in the pine trees. Shadowclan had disgusting tastes, in her opinion. Shallowfall stood up, not showing that she was effected by her words, nor did her emotions show that.

"That's just great." Galespring mumbled, her gaze looking crestfallen as she talked. She wasn't very happy with herself right now, and had ended up taking out her anger and distrust onto somebody who she didn't even know. She probably should've apologized to the elder molly, but the thought didn't even cross her mind as she continued to dump out information, almost as if she had mistaken the stranger as somebody she was close to. Shuffling her paws as she stood, it wasn't apparent to her as she thought that her legs were still aching- she had things she needed to say right then and there. "Not everyone's got everything going just the way they want it to- sometimes life can get so stressful, and everything is just piling down on me all at once. I just wish that everything could go back to the way it was during the dark era, but apparently StarClan's got it out for me!" The warrior ranted, her tail lashing and eyes narrowed as she talked on end.

[ I forgot btw. ]
She honestly didn't mind, her mother already stressed her, and her sister, so she understood what she was going through. If she knew she thought of her elderly, she would...well, not be very happy, to say the least. Shallowfall gave a nod, listening with a strangely calm expression, listening to her rant, not saying a word. Sometimes let out all your troubles helped, and perhaps that saying was true, exactly. "Perhaps you could need a break, and somewhere to calm down." She answered thoughtfully, amber optics calm, and a wise expression on her face. Stress could make a cat angry, and lash out easily. "Sometimes we need to not worry about our problems, and worry about other things, but you have a choice on whether or not you do."[Its short BC i have writers block right now.]

A black tom stalked the borders of shadowclan and windclan, hidden into a tree. His tail swished behind him slightly, enjoying the wisp of the cool breeze. Camouflage looked down below, his head tilting to one side. He did not understand the concept of living in clans, or why the other cats thought it was natural to do so. He was born a rogue, he would forever be a rogue. Granted, he had been a former kittypet until he killed the two-legged’s other pet animal. A bird. A natural prey that called his name. Since then, he’s been on his own.

On his own! Forever free! Camouflage did not understand why he was at the border, only that he needed a shaded place to relax, and perhaps sleep, but he couldn’t. Below, he found all the other cats interesting with their animated conversations. It took him all his might not to jump down there, and get to know him.

He was lonely, after all. He was lonely indeed. The only downfall of living on your own; surviving on your own. Is being alone. Most times he missed having others to talk to, like his next door friend, Blueberry before he was kicked to the curb by his former two-legs. Since he’s been a stray for a long while, he was tired of living in the constant fear of being hit by monsters or having to worry about the notorious two-leg that captured animals and euthanized them if they weren’t adopted in time.

As he laid in the tree, his claws out and scraping the bark, he made little humming noises to cease his boredom. Soon, he’ll be on the path again. To where, exactly? His paws lead him here for some odd reason. He knew he had no desire to be apart of a clan. None at all. In fact, he was ready to leave. Their scent was heavily in his nose, and it wasn’t a pleasant one at that.

He’ll stay a bit longer...just to be nosy...and wishing that some type of excitement will pop up in his life.

Frogspirit had just left the Shadowclan camp. His wounds were well enough for him to wander again and honestly, he was depending joining clan life again. After all these moons alone, he felt loyalty to Windclan. This occurred to him when he was sitting in the Shadowclan medicine cat den for ages, he felt hostile and suspicious of them even though Kestrelberry practically saved his life. The scars from his wounds would be on his pelt forever and the fur along his hip where the worst wound was wouldn't grow back and he knew that. Infections had festered for so long that it was miracle he could even walk... if you would call his limp a walk. Frogspirit was growing tired of the loner life. He'd lived it, he'd been beaten up over and over, and for what cost? A period to heal from grief? This was no life for a born clan cat, perhaps it was time to return to Windclan. The black and white senior cat stood on the border and looked out over the moors, his yellow hues were foggy with reminiscence. How was his kits and Heatherbird doing nowadays? He hadn't seen them since.... since the fire really. That was so long ago now. As he thought to himself, his guard was let down. He was no strange to the clans and being in clan territory made him feel safe. That was a feeling he hadn't had in a while.

Shadestorm was sprinting through the undergrowth in attempt to catch that frog that was leaping away, every hop seeming to grow larger, creating a barrier between the black she-cat and the prey. She knocked into a mysterious cat and fell to her paws, the mud soaking her pelt. She peered around him, and saw the frog leaping away in relief. "MOUSE-BRAIN!" She shouted at the tom who had miraculously gotten in her way. "YOU SPOILED MY CATCH!"

Blazingstar was approaching the Shadowclan border, following closely after his apprentice. He had let her lead the way on the patrol, giving her the freedom to choose when and where she felt like going. In his mind, it helped new apprentices learn the territory better. As they approached, he felt an eerie feeling coming from the territory. Blazingstar had never been a fan of Shadowclan cats and he was secretly hoping they wouldn't run into any while Ferretpaw was around. Now, he wouldn't make enemies with the clan, he just didn't trust their sneaky behavior. The breeze was blowing their way, thankfully, so Ferretpaw would get a good whiff of the repulsive scent markers. "And here we are, the Shadowclan border," he spoke, guiding her along the border before she was able to cross it. Unlike Riverclan, it wasn't hard to guess where the scent markers were placed, their scent was so strong here that it was almost overwhelming.

Ferretpaw padded along the borders, looking into the territories as they passed them. RiverClan.. They could run a bit on their territory, but their river sort of stopped them from it.. How could they live with that?
As they passed by ShadowClan, Ferretpaw almost felt like dropping down and covering her nose. That was an... Odd, smell, to say the least. Peering into their territory, she almost fell over in laughter. High, tall spiky trees everywhere! How could they run in such a land? The small apprentice was happy she were in WindClan. She wouldn't have been able to live without being able to run straight ahead without crashing into some tree.
Peering up at Blazingstar, she settled down a few meters from the territory, and tilted her head. "So.. The different clans has different attributes, right?" She asked. It was clear that the other clans could not train to be as fast as WindClanners to Ferretpaw. Not with that little space to run. That was just weird. "So what are these attributes?" She asked curiously. Not having liked being in the nursery, she knew very little of the clans that surrounded them. Very little indeed. She had seen other kits play pretend, but it had not really shown much about how the different clans were.

Camouflage jumped out the tree after some time of lounging around. He knew that he needed to get a move on soon, so after swiftly making the jump, he had stretched his limbs to the fullest, hearing a few pleasant cracks. He allowed a soft smile to grace his muzzle as he was about to begin to walk. But, then he felt a sudden force of impact, knocking him down, and another cat went tumbling into the mud. He stood there for a moment, noticing stars until his vision cleared. He turned his head towards the source, almost asking if they were okay, until he heard the she-cat yell at him. Camouflage never took heed to being yelled at. He curled his mouth to show his fangs, spiked and gleaming. ''What did you just call me?'' The black tom never liked to be insulted. He allowed his claws to come in and out involuntarily as he heard her next words. Her shouts made his ears yell out in agony. ''The reason your catch was spoiled was because you didn't pay attention where you were going, fox-brain.'' He sneered, keeping his claws outstretched in case he needed to attack. One wrong move, and he new the she-cat would be gone. He had a short temper anyway, and he never truly took to obstacles being in his way.

Suspiciousmindz
Blazingstar was startled by her sudden stop as she settled down. Although that made sense when she asked her question. Thinking for a moment, he sat down beside her, looking across the border into Shadowclan's territory. It was definitely not the territory he could live in if he had to pick. Their marshy grounds must be awful and constantly cold. Cold-hearts from that territory I bet, he thought. He had nothing against the Shadowclan cats, other than they were always bitter towards his patrols. They were always the meanest of the clans from the stories he's heard the first hand experiences. With that moment of thought gone, he let out a small breath.

"Each clan has their own attributes," he began, confirming her first question about if they had different ones. "Obviously Windclan's is to run faster than the other clans and we're more agile by default," he spoke. The pride in his voice was there, but that died down as he started talking about the other clans. "Riverclan cats can swim and fish. Shadowclan is known for their stealth and long jumps, they need it because the pines don't offer too much coverage. Thunderclan can move swiftly through the forest with all it's dense undergrowth, he stated. Once again, he didn't bring up Skyclan. He knew almost nothing about the clan and since they were so new to the clans, he just didn't think they were worth bringing up. That was certainly a story he could bring up later, but only if Ferretpaw was curious enough about it. That was mostly a story for back at camp during free-time.

"Of course you would think that, because you were the one that got in my way! You just want to seem INNOCENT!" Shadestorm shouted her last words, as she lunged at him, claws unsheathed. She was never the fighter so of course she wasn't good, but she had to defend what could've been hers. To her, she seemed cool and awesome, but all she was doing was batting her arms like a mewling kit in a play-fight.

You got to be kidding me, the tom thought scoffing, and shaking his head at the failure in front of him. When she lunged at him, he grunted in response, falling over, but quickly regained his strength and pinned her to the ground. He lashed at her, ''What is the matter with you, fool!'' He barred his teeth and leaned down closer to her. His paws laid firmly on her pelt, specifically her near her neck, his claws unsheathed. He was ready to dig them into her, narrowing his eyes as he watched her fumble. It was a pretty funny sight. Sad too. Not that he cared. ''Any last words, you unwanted piece of space?'' He leaned down once more, and with one move her neck would be slit and blood would be oozing out. He thought it was pretty pathetic that no one taught her how to properly fight. Then again, it wasn't his problem.

Camouflage growled, and since she was being a nuisance, he decided that he would let her go. She was surely not useful to her clan. With her weak forces and stupid techniques. He wondered about this she-cat, but he knew he didn't need to waste his time, so with one swift movement, he drew back his paw, and made sure to slit open her throat to his utmost satisfaction. Some of her blood lingered onto his claws, and he got off her body. It was truly a gruesome sight to look at, but it wasn't his problem. Maybe, if she would had been a little nicer, things could had been different. But no, she was playing difficult. As the tom hopped off her body, he trotted on. He left her there, hoping someone would find her. By that time he would had been moved on.

Blood oozed out of her. Holes punctured her, therefore letting life pour out. Her body had been mangled, and broken. She lay there, motionless. No Agony, no pain. Her spirit looked over her. "Who could've done this." Someone tapped her on the shoulder with a paw. She turned around and trotted away with a glance back towards her body. "Goodbye to my wonderful father, mother, and siblings."

Jaguarclaw had led the patrol of two towards the Windclan border. As of right now, Windclan was far from being worried about so this was a good start around the territory. The border didn't last forever here, although looking over it, you'd think their territory did. It was so vast, Jaguarclaw didn't understand how those cats could deal with the open. He always preferred the marshy grounds and dense pine trees. It sheltered them and kept them hidden from their prey, it was good here. "As you see, nothing has changed here, the borders are all the same," he spoke to his black and white friend before leading her towards a moss patch he knew of just inside their border. Here he sat down and waited for her. "I discovered this moss patch before leaf-bare hit, no one seems to have touched it, but it's already semi-dry because the winds from Windclan blow perfectly on it," he spoke happily. Less wet moss meant easier transport and less work.

As the two walked along in silence Marbledface just drank in the familiar surroundings. She'd missed it here, much more than she had imagined. It was the little things that caught her off guard now. The molly had always lived her life fast-paced and never took time to appreciate what she has like she did now. The train of thought reminded her that the very first time they had really gotten to know each other was on this border.
A smile crept over her face as her eyes scanned the vast and unfamiliar moors of Windclan. The brisk wind that swept over them made her fur ruffle.
It was still chilled by the melting snow on the forest's edge. Though in another quarter moon hopefully it would all be gone. It was also a rather dreary day, but at least the grey sky wasn't yet raining. New leaf was filled with rain in this part of the world, not that Marbledface minded. She'd never had a problem with getting a little wet and dirty; never one to worry too much about her appearance over her reputation as a warrior.

His sudden stop caught her attention and she trotted over to the pile of moss he had pointed out. The black and white cat was relieved to take a little break, not that she would ever admit that out loud. Her emerald eyes reflected that light of adventure and strength out on the border still,
rather than the haunted disappointment they sported when she had been den-ridden moons ago. She was getting more and more of a disappointed look in her eyes than a bright and adventurous one, slowly accepting her fate and physical limits. After a quick scrape to test the dampness and firmness of the moss she nodded her head and glanced over at Jaguarclaw. "This will do for sure." She said, her tone chipper and light. The fresh air felt good against her fur and being with Jaguarclaw brought her comfort and familiarity that she had longed for. Though she still needed to rest so the mottled molly sat down beside the tom, eyes on the rolling fields rather than beginning to tear at the moss. "I wonder how they live like that..." Her voice was a little distant as she pictured herself running through the open plains. "There are so many more predators in the open, how can they always keep an eye out for birds..."

To Obsidiansky, it seemed like Rainpaw was annoyed about something. Why were apprentices so much more complex then kits? Was it something in their mental structure that changed once they became six moons old... the knowledge that they now had responsibilities to keep up within the Clan, the knowledge that they would be taking care of themselves? No more of queens feeding them, protecting them, and warm siblings to curl up to at night. Though some of the more overprotective mothers would still be around their now apprenticed kits, making sure they weren't hurt in any way or anything like that. Annoying, in Shadepaw's opinion. Kits didn't want their mothers hanging around them! As they approached the next border, Obsidiansky gingerly glanced around. "So, this is the border between us and ShadowClan. What can you tell me about ShadowClan warriors?" He asked. Truth be told, the tom had no idea what Rainpaw knew about the cats. But, that was his job; whatever Rainpaw didn't know, he would teach him. As long as the younger tom was willing to learn. Otherwise? Well, then they would both be pretty much out of luck.

His ears perked up with interest as they neared the border. He had heard of one story about Shadowclan eating kits but that couldn't possibly be true, still the rival clan interested him. "What are Shadowclan like then?" Rainpaw asked, hoping that the more questions he asked the more it would seem like he was like the other excitable, bouncy apprentices which is what he had guessed Obsidiansky wanted in the first place. Communication could also get his mentors hopes up at an actually good relationship. Not that I care about that! He tried to keep his thoughts purely logical so that he could become a strong warrior but he was worried that his emotions would stop him from that goal.

A shudder went down the tom's spine. Even the mere mention of ShadowClan seemed to strike fear into the heart of the tom. Odd, since he was an older warrior, it might be assumed that he wasn't afraid of anything. This was definitely a false assumption. Obsidiansky was extremely scared of ShadowClan. They were fierce and from what he had heard, the most terrifying cats. He'd heard stories when he was a kit about them having glowing red hues, but he knew that wasn't true. Right? Though he'd seen ShadowClan cats before, and none of them had had glowing eyes. So he supposed it must be a myth. "They're sneaky. They fight dirty-- granted, some cats in the other Clans do too, but they're the worst. Not all of them are like that, it's just a stereotype, but..." His voice trailed off, leaving Rainpaw to finish the sentence for him. It was up to the younger cat whether he thought his mentor believed that they were or not. "Anyways, you have to be careful when fighting one. They use their tricks-- ShadowClan cats are very smart. Most of them. It's pretty even between us and them. Our speed and agility against their intelligence." Speed and agility against intelligence. That seemed like it would be an obvious win for the WindClanner, but Obsidiansky had seen.... strange things happen. And he was no longer sure whether he believed that the more quick, flighty Clan would be able to beat the sneakier one in battle for much longer. Their tricks were going to win out eventually. "What else do you want to know?" He asked, his voice sounding a little short, but that was just because he wanted to get away from here. The ShadowClan border always gave him an eerie feeling. Ugh, he hated it. He would be glad once he wouldn't have to come back here anymore... until the day when he would have a new apprentice, that was.

Jaguarclaw gave her a friendly shrug as he wasn't too sure himself. It was simply not a question he could answer without asking a Windclan warrior them self. Even then, the Shadowclan cats would never understand their perspective of the moors. This was one of those questions that was better left unanswered. "Only Starclan knows," he mumbled half to himself, half to Marbledface before allowing his olives hues to shift back towards the moss before them. With quick movements, his claws sliced through layer and layer of moss until they had a nice little pile besides them. This would make Marbledface a nice nest for sure. Little work, but worth it if it meant beating the rain back to the camp. Despite the marshy terrain they lived in, Jaguarclaw still couldn't get over the uncomfortable feeling of being rained on. He didn't complain about it, he just preferred to be away in his nest when it did rain. "Okay, now that we have enough moss, do we go back to camp or do we come back for this pile?" he asked her, his brow raised, clearly curious of her answer. There wasn't much else to see on the border, so really this was up to her. This was her day to decide what she did and did not want to do... or in this moment, what was worth their energy.
Slowly, his gaze shifted between the direction of camp and the direction of the territory. Maybe she wanted to test her hunting skills here again? How ridiculous did that sound. A trained warrior never forgot how to hunt... did they? Who knew. "Or in other words, do we beat the rain back to camp or stick around for the storm?" he gave a small chuckle after the words were spoken.

Marbledface's black and white tail tapped against the ground in thought. She could think of a thousand more fun things to do in the territory, although she was relatively sure none of them would do the clan any good. Probably not the best way to welcome herself back... After eyeballing the pile of moss though she decided that she probably wouldn't have room to bring it back in one go. So rather she had to debate if she had enough energy to make it to the clan and back out twice. Her eyes looked over Jaguarclaw, she didn't want to seem like a completely different cat though. He knew her to be adventurous, not hold back. The mottled molly pushed herself to her feet, her shoulder was rested enough for now anyways, sure she could make all the trips. "Why don't we go for a hunt, make use of our time out here." She said, her lips quirked up in a smile. It was a true smile too, she was too happy to be back and in action to let her shoulder worries dampen the hunt. She took a couple of bouncing steps past the tom, maw to the light breeze, tasting for the first bit of prey. "Bet I can catch one first." She teased, her tail tip curling and eyes a daring dark green.

"Only in your dreams!" he huffed, puffing out his chest at her challenge. Then in no time, the tom was on his feet, padding after her a few paces. Sure enough, the memory of their first hunt was on his mind even after all this time. He couldn't help it. The thought of getting stuck in mud again made him nervous, but it had only just became new-leaf so there was no way the ground had softened enough for that to happen... yet at least. Regaining his confidence and playful spirit, the Bengal bounded away a few paces and instantly starting scenting the air for prey. There had to be some around here. They had been out and about ever since the world started warming back up. Just as he thought there was no hope, his gaze rested on a small frog a few tree lengths away. How could he break the distance between them without scaring it? Frogs were always so easy to scare and they moved quickly despite their looks. Especially in water. Jaguarclaw couldn't count the amount of times he lost a frog because it started swimming in the marshy waters. No matter how long he'd look, he'd never be able to find it at the end of the day. It was like they disappeared the moment they started swimming. He lowered his body to the ground and slowly started to inch his way forward, his ears were pricked forwards, but he couldn't help but turn his head to see where Marbledface ended up going. Curiosity might've been his downfall in his hunt...

Instantly Rainpaw's attention snapped back to the warrior, "Why can't we just use their own trick against them- oh well of course they'd probably know how to avoid a tactic they made... Oh! Why don't we make up some of our own tricks?" He asked eagerly, pelt bushed out as if he were ready to leap into war, even though he had no knowledge of attacking.

Speed against wits pretty much summed up how a fight between the two went. Though ShadowClan was a scary Clan, he did believe that they had some good in them. The old leader had scared him even more then Singenight, and that was quite a bit; considering, after all, the Savannah had been a frightening and indimidating figure. Some had respected and accepted him for who he was. Some had respected but not accepted. Obsidiansky had kept his head down and maw shut. A cowardly move, but one that had kept him alive. Bravery was worth nothing if you weren't alive to keep others safe with it. And besides! What would have happened to all the cats who cared about him-- who he cared about? They could easily have been killed as well. "I... don't know. It would depend on the cat, some are stronger and rely on their strength. The stereotypes the Clans have been given don't necessarily mean that every cat in the Clan is that way. So hey, maybe you'll be the first to make up your own tricks!" Obsidiansky was glad that Rainpaw seemed to be warming up to him. It was going pretty well. Perhaps this would work out just fine after all.

Marbledface watched with a smile as he bounded off in one direction and she headed out on another. The air stank of rotten mud and defrosting forest ground, but above it was the light smell of a vole. Perhaps one had a nest nearby, so she followed the scent at a stalk, soft on her paws and ears perked for sound. It didn't take long before she could hear the scurrying and munching teeth of rodents. A few careful paces later and she could see the nest, but didn't know if there were any escape holes within their nest. A careful approach was made until she could strike with her paw,
and when she did it was a swift scoop with a clawed paw inside the vole den. She was met with the stinging bite from one while the other simply seemed to disappear. Despite the stinging burn a vole's bite left, Marbledface quickly scooped the fighting prey to her maw to end its life. Once she had she sighed in relief and took a moment to catch her breath. She hadn't noticed Jaguarclaw's hunt, not his curious gaze. Though as she rested she could make out his coat and quickly gathered her kill and began to trot in his direction to see if he had found something of his own.

Being focused on Marbledface's hunt caused his own to go wrong. Before he knew it, Jaguarclaw was purring with delight at his friend's catch causing his own prey to disappear. The Bengal only realized this when he turned his head around to continue his hunt, only to realize he was standing on the spot the prey was originally located. Startled by this realization, the warrior knew there was no hope in trying to track it and instead turned to meet the black and white warrior. "Well I guess you win!" he gave a small chuckle, however his ears burned with embarrassment once again. Being around Marbledface seemed to cause that a lot in him. "Nice catch!" he commented, trying to avoid the conversation of how he missed his prey. Jaguarclaw wasn't sure he wanted to admit to watching her hunt as he forgot about his own. It wasn't like him to be so distracted, but having her around again just threw him off. It was like he didn't know what to do with himself anymore. He wanted to put time into their friendship, to really get to know her again, but he lost track of his warrior duties too. Eventually he'd figure out his balance, but in that moment, he was like a lost puppy. His olive hues averted from her and towards their pile of moss a small distance away. "Perhaps it was better I didn't catch anything... Someone's got to bring home the moss we collected," he eyed it a little more. "Well at least carry some of it back. There's no way we're going to be able to carry all of it at once... unless you want to look like moss is growing off you!" he let a purr escape his throat, imagining Marbledface covered in moss trying to carry it back.

Marbledface beamed at Jaguarclaw's praise for her catch and win, though she wouldn't admit how competitive she got in situations like this. Though she was a little concerned with the rest of his reactions, like herself Jaguarclaw seemed quite changed. Before something like this wouldn't have bothered him much, but he seemed off. She couldn't place a paw on it and that made her want to ask if everything was alright, but she stayed quiet while he suggested they begin heading back. "I suppose we will have to do two trips." She said, keeping her voice light. Though there was a genuine grin on her face from his joke. The tease also put her more at ease, as that seemed more the Jaguarclaw that she had known. Though she couldn't have expected him not to change, she had very much changed herself. The black and white molly wondered if that bothered him like it did her. They definitely had a lot of catching up to do later this evening, first both of them had to catch up on duties. Marbledface also had an important return greeting to her sister, though she also wanted to avoid that. She had worked hard to isolate herself from her family, so it was rather awkward trying to get to know her sister. Though she still refused to come to any sort of understanding with her father, he would forever remain a stranger to her. A blink of her eyes and she brought herself back to reality, finding her way to the moss pile that the tom had scraped up for her. "Thanks for your help by the way." She said sheepishly, she hated needing assistance, always had and likely always will. Though the mottled feline was beginning to accept that she wouldn't be able to be independent forever, and so she'd come to some sort of inner peace to Jaguarclaw's help.

Jaguarclaw gave her a happy grin before leaning down and picking up a large wad of moss. He looked a little silly with the moss in his mouth, it was almost too large for him to grab. He wouldn't back down from the challenge though and instead began to lead them back towards the camp.

[a time skip for the second trip so it's not dragged on xD]

Jaguarclaw's jaws were a little cramped from the first trip so on this second round, he decided that he'd take a much smaller load to avoid the pain. He didn't care what Marbledface said. "One last trip then we can go back to camp and relax the rest of the day away. I'd like that," he mumbled half to himself towards end. It was true. Jaguarclaw felt exhausted even after just simple tasks like this. He just hadn't slept very well lately. He was sure with Marbledface around, he would again. It was only a matter of time before he was strong and healthy again. Personally, he couldn't wait for that day. When he could do things like this without tiring. Enough pondering on that, Jaguarclaw lowered his head again as he took a small amount of moss from the depleting pile. He was sure Marbledface would be able to handle the rest. It wasn't that much after all.

As expected the journey had taken it's toll on Marbledface.
The mottled warrior's shoulder ached with some strength now and her limp was a little more obvious. Though now returned she had also rekindled her passion for the clan and fierce loyalty. She wanted to push through it and go for another hunt before they returned, but she also knew that would be impossible. It made her chest sink a little to be held back, though if Jaguarclaw was looking forward to a break then she supposed that she could as well, it would be nice to have the company. "I want to get out again before sunset though, catch something else and feel like I've covered some ground to reestablishing my role in the clan." She said though a sigh as she used her bad leg to loosely scrape together the remaining moss. That way if gave it somewhat of a break. The black and white feline didn't want to take a break though until she returned to the clan, there was this anxiousness under her skin lately that told her she was always running out of time. Though she wasn't sure what for. "I will need that rest though." She said with a happy purr and a roll of her shoulder.

Before Jaguarclaw could pick up the wad of moss at his paws, he was wanting to respond to Marbledface's statements. "Well we can go hunting again tomorrow if you want! I mean, we'll have all day now that we have the moss you need for your nest, plus some," he spoke, trying to get the black and white warrior to change her mind. He still remembered her leg and he was certain it must be bothering her now. To keep it short, Jaguarclaw simply didn't want his companion to over work her leg. The last thing they needed was a trip to the medicine cat to get it fixed all over again. He remembered the last time she did that to herself, he was there helping her walk again. "How about we go back and rest and call it a day. Enjoy the day before the rains return. Don't feel like getting caught in the storm out here. I suppose tonight will be the night it begins," He spoke allowing himself to scent the air. Sure enough, there was a strong scent of rain in the air and they could even feel it. The air was sticky and humid, though still cool due to the recent season change. Once again, Jaguarclaw was leaning down to scoop up his pile of moss, clamping it securely in his jaws before turning in the direction of camp. With a quick looked Marbledface to insure she was ready, he began to lead them back.

Disappointment set in as she could sense the truth in his words through facts in the environment. One thing that she hated was the rain, she despised the way it ruffled her fur, stuck it out in ugly places. A shudder went through her spine and she nodded in agreement. "I suppose you're right... We will take it easy this evening then." She agreed and pulled her own moss pile into her maw. Then she took off at a slower pace back to the clan with Jaguarclaw. Though she wasn't really chipper on the travel, most of the time she spent staring at the ground trying to calculate everything she needed to do. It made her mind swirl.

Loping out onto the field, he took in a deep inhale of breath. Ah yes, he could see the entire sky! Living in a pine forest was great, he loved the fresh woodland scent and the prickly pine needles between his toes, but whenever he got the chance to experience the full sky, he couldn't resist. ShadowClan territory was dark and barely got any sunlight because of the closely woven trees.
The sun felt hot on his pelt, and he curled into a patch of lilies, gently pulling a lily out of the ground, the blossom resting in between his paws as he gazed at it. Kestrelberry's small, pleasant smile soon faded into a neutral expression, before his claws quickly and delicately tore into its petals, scattering bits of the velvety pieces onto the ground and into his fur as he promptly shoved the blossom away from him.
A sigh as he pressed his face into his paws, ears lowering to press against his skull slightly.
He really needed to get over it, didn't he?
Staring at the lilies, his tail swayed as he sighed, pressing his muzzle into a paw. He didn't want to be a warrior. It wasn't his calling.

Frogspirit -- now mostly referred to as Frog -- had left Shadowclan about a moon earlier. He had a pretty noticeable limp from the injuries that used to line his pelt. Soon after leaving the clan, he had headed back to the Windclan border to enjoy the light and the open territory. Shadowclan was dark and he believe that was why everyone there seemed so bitter. That was stereotyping though. The medicine cat that helped him seemed pretty happy, laid back, just not his patients. As the black and white tom made his way along the Shadowclan border, the scent of lilies reached his nose. Not just this, but the scent of a Shadowclan cat among them. It worried Frog, but he could easily explain himself and he wasn't trespassing on the territory itself, just the border. Frog still kept rather cautious of his surroundings though as he made his way along. Despite his allowance to be there, Shadowclan warriors weren't exactly the most forgiving and he assumed they would be hostile any way.

Paws tucked softly under his chest, he let out a breath, eyes still focused on the lilies around him. The moggy shifted as the warm sun felt even hotter on his brown pelt, and he slowly pushed himself onto his haunches. He was still bothered, but felt slightly better as he breathed in the blooms. The strong scent of the blossoms was enough to mask the faint scent of WindClan and rogue from reaching his tongue, taking a deep inhale and exhaling as he closed his eyes.
After what seemed like hours- days maybe, he reopened his eyes, before lazily standing up and creeping out of the patch of flowers, shaking out his pelt and taking a deep inhale in an effort to wake himself. Just relaxing in the blossoms had made him tired. The warrior wanted to go back home to shove his face into his nest and sleep all day, but the beautiful summer sky kept him under the clouds. Kestrelberry froze, the scent of rogue fresh on his tastebuds. He looking around, ears flat before shyly calling out.
"Um... Hi.?"
