The clearing was warm on this particular day, the branches of the trees surrounding it reaching up into the sky to allow it's leaves to soak in the sunlight. The quiet burble of a stream broke the silence, and the chirping and tweeting of the many birds seemed to fill the clearing with a peaceful harmony. However, the birds fell silent as a black cat with long, tall ears and a shaggy coat that hid his taut muscles dragged another being into the camp. It was tattered, barely recognizable as a cat. It's once white pelt was thick with mud and blood, tufts of it's fur falling out revealing torn skin and fresh wounds. The black cat sat there for awhile, watching it intently for any signs of movement.
Satisfied that it was completely dead, the black cat grabbed the cat and began dragging it towards a deep cave. Inside, the stench was muted by mint and pine needles providing a forestry scent to mask the smell of death and decay. Picking through several bodies, some cats, others squirrels and birds, the cat placed the once white cat upon a rock. It then turned, looking at the collection of bones and decaying flesh. The black cat plucked out a few bones, glancing at them before bringing them outside.
The black cat then covered the entrance of the cave, and relaxed in the sunshine, leaving the bones in the sun to bleach them white. Blackstorm, the black cat's major crush, had no idea of the secrets that Neverwing kept, and he preferred to keep it that way.
