Cobalt's silver and grey tabby fur shone pale in the blinding sunlight. His soft paws fell on the smooth, warm, sun-blazed slab of stone he was walking across. The tom had been exploring an abandoned twoleg nest just inside a patch of lonely woods surrounded by bare rock. He had made a non-perminant nest a few sunrises ago not far from here and quite liked the area.
The tom silently explored, sniffing into every nook and cranny he could find; exploring this place was a personal heaven.

The tom silently explored, sniffing into every nook and cranny he could find; exploring this place was a personal heaven.

Sprocket lifted his small muzzle into the air, the tom had an unimpressive look about him. His fur was matted and unclean, he was a smaller tom with lean body shape and scars along his side and face. He had been looking for a place to rest for a while, his friend Ice had just helped him escape from his abusive Twolegs two moons ago. They had a falling out and Sprocket was on his own, he flatten his ears in annoyance and shook away the thoughts. He smelt a faint Twoleg smell and also a fresh cat scent, he could tell the cat was tom. He hoped the cat was friendly, it hadn't really put any territory scents down so Sprocket hoped it was okay to be here. He could smell plenty of mice around, his stomach growled loudly. The mottled brown and cream tom crouched carefully, his dull pelt seemed to look even duller in the sunlight and as he crouched his bones poked out a bit. He followed the scent carefully and found a family of mice, he forced himself to be patient so he could get as many mice as possible. He bunched up his muscles and pounced onto the mice, he was able to pin down two with his paws and grabbed one by its tail. He swiftly broke all three necks and waited as they went limp, he licked his muzzle before stuffing his face with the mice, he closed his eyes as he chewed up the warm meat. A weak purr esacped from his throat as he ate, all concerns about the other tom left his mind.

Cobalt's relaxed wandering and exploring was interrupted by the faint squeal of furious mice. He jerked his grey-furred head up and listened acutely for where the distressed sound was coming from. It wasn't far off, and, curious, he took off at a quick run.
By the time the tom reached the place the mice had been, he saw the creature who had caused them harm. It was a fellow tom, who looked like the typical rogue cat; skin and bones. Calling out a friendly greeting, Cobalt stepped from the bushes he had been lingering behind to dip his head in a gesture to show he was no threat.
Not that I have to worry, he likes like he could be finished with a few swipes. Despite his wry thoughts, Cobalt found himself thinking that maybe he shouldn't judge to quickly. All to many times he had some rather unpleasant meetings with rogues who looked the same as the He infront of him. They all had given him a scar or a memory to remember.

Sprocket jumped and his fur bristled as he heard an unfamiliar voice from another tom. His ears moved to where the voice came from, he dug his thin claws into the ground before standing protectively over the dead mice. "Don't even try to steal this fresh kill." He said in a hostile tone. He still stayed pretty relaxed, since the tom seems friendly. He felt really weak and tired, he didn't want to fight. His ears flicked nervously, he began to feel dizzy and sat down quickly. His moved the mice closer to him and his tail lashed in the dirt, if this tom took his mice then he wouldn't survive the night.

Cobalt shrugged at the hostile tom. He met the tom's gaze evenly.
"My hunger is satisfied. I see no need to steal." The grey cat's tone was even but the shadows crossing his fur and the deep, intense look in his eyes seemed to give him a sketchy, unwelcoming presence.
"From where do you hail?" He asked, his typical greeting.
