Introduction

It is the year 3039, and almost all life has been wiped out. Humans and Animals alike have to rely on each other to survive.
Animals have gained almost the same intelligence that humans have over the course of the last few centuries, making it easier for animals to communicate with humans. Some have learned various speech patterns that work with their vocal cords.
Ruins of magnificent cities dot the landscape. The world is slowly becoming it's beautiful, natural self without the presence of human pollution.

Backstory

World War IV brought the death and destruction of millions. It finally ended in 3021, after 50 long years of intense war-fare.

Johnathan, the oldest, was drafted into the war when he turned eighteen. He was positioned in the United States, since Great Britain and the US were allies, and the US was the major battleground. He sent letters home several times a week, before one day they stopped. It was about a week before Adriana's family got the news; He had gone MIA after a large bomb had detonated at his site.
The family, now frantic and mourning the loss of Johnathan, moved deeper into the country into Whitewood Valley, a small valley inside Mt. Ellis. (Making up names XD)
Adriana and her two older sisters began doing more chores; They now had a small farm, enough to take care of their family. They had fourteen cows, twelve horses, several chickens, a few pigs, etc. While Adriana took care of the horses and cattle, her older sisters Briana and Bridget would work in the large garden they had.
Their 7 younger siblings also helped around the farm, and their parents would try to keep everyone positive.
However, when Adriana's father went out to town for the first time since they moved there, nobody could be found. There were ruins for miles, and he said he could almost feel the pain from all the residents that were either dead, or gone.

At the edge of the woods ran a figure, black hair streaming in the wind. Beside her ran a large, dog-like creature, looking very much like a wolf. In the branches above were two cats-one blue, one silver-jumping from tree to tree, following them. This seemed like a race, and the girl was winning.

Sasuke was sleeping on a tree his wolf almost as big as a horse was sleeping under him. Sasuke had a mask and hoodie on hiding his face and hair as he just slept there he wakes up hearing a horse and wakes up to see Adriana riding her horse off in a distance

Morgan sat at the bottom of the tree. "Coming done any time soon?" She taughted. She hated sasuke but in a friendly way. She turned to the fields seeing some people and stretched her giant mouth in a huge yawn.

Blue had wandered from the race, heading towards a strange smell. There was a boy and a male wolf, but another scent that was cat-like, but not.... She sat crouched on a branch, watching Sasuke and the wolf under his tree. Blue's eyes widened as she saw the black panther approach, letting out a startled yowl and nearly falling off her branch.
Silver stopped when she heard the yowl, yowling herself as she sprinted through he trees towards her sister. Nora turned, leading Fiona to follow her on ground.

Sasuke smiles " hmmm I don't know should I get down or maybe I should stay?" He laughs in a dark way as he begins to hang upside down from the branch like a monkey " what do you think shadow should I get down?" Shadow makes a angry growl sound " don't care"

Moran jumped up startled and let out a giant growl. "Idiots." She hissed to the things that had startled her. She looked back up at sasuke. "Dumb-" she was cut off by another sound. She turned and saw... nothing.

Suddenly, Adriana's horse, Night, fell down. A large gash was in his legs, and Adriana was pinned underneath the horse partially. Her head slammed into a rock, and she passed out.

Morgan heard the crash and ran towards the sound nearly bumping into something. "Sorry." She called out behind her. She ran as fast as she could and got to the human in seconds. She pushed the horse off the human. It was very hard but she managed. "Are you ok." She said softly. She licked the humans face carefully.

"Mneh," Adriana muttered, her Scottish accent thickening with pain. "I've had worse. Night, are you all right?"

"I'm fine." Night replied. "Just don't know where the gash came from."

Adriana stood up, and began wandering over to Sasuke. "Hey cutie," She sank down under the tree, looking up at him.

There was a faint thrumming of helicopters in the distance. Adriana looked up, Copper and Jasper running to her side.
"They're here!" Copper panted, the golden colored wolf looking slightly panicked. "They found us!"
Jasper nodded in confirmation.
Adriana tightened her fists as the helicopters drew closer; You could make out the details now.

A few minutes later, they landed.

A blonde woman got out, her features cold and stern. She pointed at the various animals and people, and said something into her mic. Troops began filing out, five to each animal/person.

Adriana backed up against Sasuke as twenty advanced onto them; Five for Jasper, Five for Copper, five for Adriana, and five for Sasuke.

Sasuke smiles " ohhh dang it we're in for it now " he laughs softly " good thing I'm a psychopathic serial killer who's one hell of a flirt " he says as shadow growls loudly

"You got that right, Flirty." Adriana muttered, digging her bronze knuckled out of her pockets. Her boots flashed as she took her fighting stance. "I ain't goin' down without a fight you dingbats, so come get me!" Her eyes gleamed, a smile twitching at the corners of her mouth.
She slammed her fists into ones face, causing them to stumble back. Her foot collided with another's stomach, the steel-toed boots sinking into their guts and pushing them back.

Copper and Jasper tackled a couple down, growling.

More troops filed out of the helicopters, heading in Adriana and Sasuke's direction.

Sasuke smiles as he pulls out some claws like knives " let's play " he says as he stabs one though the guy and begins to slash one though the neck as he pulls out the knives of the one he just stabbed

Adriana knelt down, feeling the massive handcuffs clasp around her wrists. Someone grabbed her, and slammed her head on the ground, attacking something to her neck. She fell asleep.

"Really now," Adriana snipped slightly, but she was smiling. However, her eyes fell on Copper and Jasper, and her eyes filled with rage. The two wolves were chained down, bloody and beaten.

Shadow was beaten as well as she lay next to Sasuke though she looked peaceful as she slept. Sasuke smiles " yes I never lie my dear I have no reason to lie after all I am just a flirty devil you love "

"..." Adriana was straining at the locks. Finally, she sighed, tipped her head over, and grabbed a hair pin, the messy curls falling over her face. SHE began picking the lock, and finally the soft click could be heard. Soon after, she picked the second one and dropped to the floor. She unlocked Sasuke, before unlocking Copper Jasper, and shadow.

Adriana curled up in his embrace, weeping slightly at the sight of her wolves. "Those b***ards hurt Copper and Jasper..." She whispersd. "They took us from our home, without even letting us say goodbye."

"Hello, and welcome to Government Base 13. You have been selected to participate in a series of tests, some of which may be brutal. You have already completed the first test. Your next test should be quite obvious; escaping the room. Your dogs will be alright. In the next room, there is a first-aid kit, for your wolves." The voice was robotic; monotone.
"When escaping this room, you shall be awarded with a series of tools that you may use to aide you in your tests. When completing the tests, you shall be awarded with the prize of freedom. Please begin test number 2."
Adriana looked at Sasuke, puzzled.

Jasmine was walking her horse,Stalli, around the forest. She just came from a rocky path on a mountain and gave her horse a break from her weight. Haa shooked her wings as she stood on Jasmine's head.

Adriana nodded, having analyzed all the weak spots in the wall. She grabbed one of the cuffs, and began yanking it out, a long spike coming out with it. She raised it, and turned to Sasuke. "Stand there," She instructed, pointing to a certain spot. She brough Jasper and Copper to one spot, and left Shadow alone. She raised the cuff, the massive metal stake on the end shining as she jammed it hard into a specific area of the wall. Cracks began forming, until the wall fell down, revealing another room.

Jasmine stopped on a path as Haa flew to a tree branch. The owl kept watched as she feed Stalli and sat at a tree herself.

Adriana shrugged. "The end of the world gives you time to figure things out." She stepped through the rubble, and picked up the first aid kit.
"Congratulations on making through Test 2." The voice sounded. "You are probably wondering why you are in this predicament."
"Sure am," Adrianna muttered under her breath.
"As the human race has failed, we are now looking for other humans to experiment on. By the end of these tests, you two will be the perfect combination of human and beast, able to survive things that animals nor humans can alone." The voice paused. "This is theoretical, of course, so you may end up with some... differences than what we had assured you of previously." The voice clicked off.
Adriana began bandaging up Copper and Jasper.
