Fria emerged from her den, stretching in the morning sunshine. She neatly hopped onto her fence and balanced there, looking around at her neighbors. Row after row of prefect white Twoleg homes lay for what seemed like forever, and in a way, it was a bit confining. But Fria didn't mind. The black and white she cat was content with the little patch of grass on back of her den, and didn't need much more. Though at the back of her mind, there was a piece of her that wished the rest of hey family would sometime - somehow - come visit...

Maplefur emerged from the tree line, finally spotting the linked fences of twolegplace she had been searching for. If I remember correctly, it should be near here... She scanned each nest, trying desperately to remember her mother's old twoleg house. As she searched each one over, she noticed a cat jump up onto a nearby fence. Looking over the black and white she-cat, Maplefur could have sworn she recognized her. "Fria? Is that you?" Maplefur called out uncertantly, taking a step towards the kittypet's fence.

Fria heard a cat's voice, and she jerked her head around. Narrowing her eyes, she saw a cat in the tree line, and if m when she looked harder, the black and white cat could've sworn she'd seen the brown fur before... "Maple? Maple, is that... you?" In the back of her mind Fria knew there was no way that cat was her long lost sibling, yet part of her held onto the hope. Oh, please let it be her!

Maplefur purred. "Starclan cats aren't alive. They're all dead cats that used to live in the clan. Leaders, warriors, queens, kits- they all go there. One day, I'll be up there with them, and then it will be my turn to send warnings and prophecies to the clans."

"Soooo... it's kinda like an after life?" Fria herself had never witnessed death, but she'd heard all about it; cats falling over and not getting up, feeling their chest and not finding a heartbeat, and even just the disappearance of Someone. It seemed to be a scary thing, and the she cat wished she would never have to experience it. "But... how do they send messages? Do the dead walk among you?!" Fria shivered. That's impossible! Once cats are dead, surely they can't come back alive!

"Yes, exactly like an after life! They don't walk among us- they stay up in Starclan hunting grounds for the most part. They send messages through our medicine cats- they can send signs in many ways. Its up to medicine cats to figure out what is a sign and what isn't. Sometimes it's easy to tell, like they will get a dream with a Starclan cat in it, and some are hard, like a special looking piece of prey." Maplefur recited what she had learned about Starclan from elders- she hadn't been in Thunderclan long enough for a medicine cat to receive a sign in front of her.

Maplefur nodded. "Yeah, they know how to heal cats when they're sick. Well, for the most part. They can't save every cat, but a lot more cats would be lost without them." She paused for a moment, trying to find a way to explain to Fria how Starclan cats are indeed real. "The cats they dream of aren't always cats they knew- sometimes just past leaders or really old cats that contributed to the clans greatly. Or sometimes its just a cat from the medicine cat's clan that died a while ago, and even the medicine cat won't know them. They aren't just dreams though, because whenever they give a warning or a prophecy, it always comes true."

Mentally the black and white she cat thought that could potentially scary; dead cats attacking other dead cats wasn't a very nice picture in mind!

"Well, yeah, there's the Dark Forest for any cats that do something really bad, like planned murder or something. But there's no way I'm going there." Maplefur shivered as she remembered tales she had heard of the Dark Forest. "I heard that the stars never shine there, and it's always dark. Shadows are everywhere, and it's filled with evil cats. And sometimes... sometimes living cats visit there to train."

Aria was so shocked she took a frightful step back. "You mean... cats go there to train?! Like, become friends with cats who tried to kill others?!" She'd guessed there was a separate place for bad cats, but she would've never considered other cats admiring them, and trying to follow in their footsteps! "Does that mean that if these Forest of Darkness cats or whatever can live in dreams, then StarClan cats can train others? For good, though." Dream walking was one thing, but training was a whole other matter! Of course, not that I fully know what the word training means...

Pumpkin bounded into the eerie looking Twoleg den. It was frightening how tall and scary-looking it was. She started to shiver, but shook herself, afraid she would give the other cats a bad impression of who she was. She didn't want them thinking she was just a scardy little Twoleg pet. Pumpkin starightened up and began her journey through the house. She looked around at all the pelts thrown across soft rocks. Twolegs were always wasting pelts, killing animals for sport. Twolegs disgusted her. Then she thought of her own Twolegs. Her Twolegs would never waste pelts like this.

"Yeah," Maplefur responded with a grim smile. "Not all of them know the full extent of what they're doing- I've heard the Dark Forest cats use their weaknesses against them, and tell them that they're going to end up helping their clan by making them stronger. But some cats know what they're doing, and are fully happy to learn how to kill other cats. They go along with the Dark Forest cats' plans, and they're just as evil as the cats that actually live there." Maplefur paused, wonder if Starclan would ever train cats. "I haven't hear of Starclan training cats, but that doesn't mean that they don't. I mean, I'm sure they'd do something for us if the Dark Forest ever tried to attack."

How in the world can evil dead cats come our of death and attack the Clans?" The clack and white cat's fur was spiked up in confusion and fear. Sure, she hadn't seen a lot, but never in her lifetime did she think she'd see the living being attacked by the non-living!

They swear it has though." Looking up at the sky, she noticed with a twinge how fast the time was passing. I'll have to go soon... She quickly hid her wistful expression, not wanting to ruin Fria's mood, before turning with a new sense of urgency to her sister. "So have you made any new friends? Any competition for attention I should be worrying about?" She flashed Fria a teasing glance.

"I can't, everyone would be worried sick," A particular cat flashed in her mind. He'd freak, even if we're not that close yet. He's the type to panic over something like this... And I shouldn't even be considering this. I can't stay. "And I'd be breaking the code. It's... It's bad enough that I left without staying overnight." Repeating the phrase to herself multiple times as she walked into the woods, she broke out in a sprint. The she-cat filled her mind with thoughts of her clan, and what she would do when she got back. It was only then that she remembered she had forgotten to ask Fria what had been on her mind for the past 9 moons. Our sister... Did she ever come back?

She gently set the kit down on the thick fence, and started licking it for warmth. "Hey there, little one. Its gonna be all right now."

Besides, her fur was beautiful, despite her licking it the wrong way. "I'm sure your mother will come looking for you, or your father. You said he was a leader?"
"She lives in a big red house, the only one near where she lives!" Rose told Fria, a wide smile on her face, "Yea, my father is a leader, his group may not be that big but I still can't wait to meet them!"

Fria nodded and kept walking. "He sounds very important. I'm sure he'll be glad to meet you, too!" Soon they were right in from of her home, and Fria easily jumped the fence. "My Twolegs aren't home right now, but I can still get you some food if you want some!" She waited for the kit to hop over. Her yard wasn't very big, but it had a good amount of space for running around, and there were two small trees growing in the corners. I hope she likes it here!

Blade padded out of a small, rather shabby looking den, his long, dark brown, black striped tabby fur blowing slightly to one side, as a strong breeze made him stumble. He crouched down, his fur bristling. It's just the wind! he told himself, feeling slightly embarrassed. He sighed, shaking out his fur and stood up. Blade padded down beside the curb, his amber eyes weary of any monsters. He tripped over his huge paws once or twice, but his mind was on something else. Apurva.... I shouldn't of chased her off. he hoped she was okay, wherever she may be. He couldn't stand it if something had happened to his sister and he was responsible. Blade sighed. He spotted two cats, a black and white she-cat and a kit. He didn't move closer, but he waved his tail in greeting, though hesitantly and nervously.

Rose waved her tail at Blade with a small smile before she noticed a large siamese strolling down the street, his icy blue eyes scanning the twoleg dens in disgust. She wasn't sure where Rose had come from, but hoped one of those options would suit the kit. While showing Rose, Fria caught a faint wiff of a familiar scent on the breeze, and saw him through the fence. She felt her heart speed up a tad bit. That's Blade... what's he doing here? Oh, why am I asking that; he can be here any time he wants! But she did not dare say anything, for the fear the wrong things would come out was too great.

Blade saw that it was Fria and he padded over, though his heart sped up. He reached the fence, nearly turning around and running off, but for once he kept his nerves and jumped on to the fence. He looked down to see that she was with a small kit. "Who's this?" He asked, his dark amber gaze flickering between the kit and Fria uncertainly, but with a hint of curiosity. He shifted uncomfortably from his place on the fence, then, with a surprised grunt, he fell backwards off the fence. He wasn't hurt physically, though his pride was wounded. Why do I have to be so clumsy? he wondered, sighing. The big tabby leaped back on to the fence, making sure to dig his claws in this time.

She didn't mind Blade's clumsiness, for she knew she could be just as bad. He's so kind, and funny... oh, thank goodness Maplefur isn't here now! She looked at Blade and she felt slightly dizzy. “No.” Blade meowed, lifting his head. He yawned and lay on his side, letting the sunlight soak his dark brown tabby pelt. “This feels good....” he purred, closing his eyes and enjoying the warmth. Then he looked up at Fria. “She wouldn't. She had no reason to hurt me.” he added, sitting up and twitching his whiskers nervously.

No reason to? What is going on?! "Blade..." Fria jumped down and padded over to him, stopping a mouse-length before their pelts touched. "Do-Do you want to tell me something? About you and Hail?" Her tone slowly hardened. "Y-You seemed to know her. How? Why? Why did you never say anything to me?"

That's all....” he muttered. “And I didn't tell you because I thought you might... you might get mad and leave me like everyone else did....” fear edged his mew, fear that she might leave him, just as everyone else had. He wished he could press close to her for comfort, but wasn't sure how she'd react. His eyes were round with regret.

"Oh, Blade... I'd never leave you! I just wanted to know the whole story." She pressed closer to him until their pelts touched. "You actually saved us today, by merely knowing Hail! “Thank you Fria....” he purred, leaning into her slightly, taking comfort in her warm presence, wondering if she shared his feelings. I... I'll ask her.... One day.... Blade tried to gather up his courage as he pressed into black and white molly. He looked at her, knowing there was no cat he'd rather be with. There never would be. He took great comfort in what she said, but didn't really know what else to say other than what he'd already said.

There wasn't a place she'd rather be, but she knew she had to say something, and soon. "Blade... what do you think... about... about... kits?" Blade looked at her. “I-I like kits....” he stuttered, trailing off. Does she mean us have kits, or am I mistaken? “But-but what do you mean by that?” he hoped she meant what he thought she meant, but he couldn't stand the humiliation if he was wrong. It seemed an odd question. He touched his nose hesitantly to the tip of her ear, drinking in her warm scent, wishing this moment could last forever, but he knew it couldn't. It would have to end sooner or later. Blade personally hoped for later.

Fria blushed, suddenly self-conscience at his touch. "I-I guess I mean... if... if w-we were t-to have..." She was nervous, all of a sudden. What if he doesn't want to be mates? I mean, I know it'll be hard, but we could make it work... I could make it work... She didn't expect Blade's ear touch, but didn't cringe away. It felt... nice, actually. Her heart began to speed up. Fria said nothing, not wanting to ruin the perfect moment. All is as it should be. Now that I have Blade, everything is going to be all right. She leaned into him, her purr never ceasing. Blade purred, but said nothing. This was just how life should be. No troubles or worries, just the peacefulness that seemed to be lasting forever. He watched the sky turn scarlet as the sun began to sink below the horizon. Soon, the moon and the stars will come out, and my housefolk will call me home. that last thought wasn't very pleasant, and he decided to just ignore them when they called. The scarletts and pinks were a dazzling performance of light, with blues and purples appearing behind them. Nothing would ever be like this moment again, and Fria never wanted it to end. But it has to. Your housefolk will come home any minute now, and Blade will have to leave. But she shoved that aside. For now, all that mattered was Blade. Her and Blade. Oh, please let her be up! She had left to see her sister as soon as she heard the possibility of battle. I should be back home training, or hunting... or doing something to help. She thought with a guilty twinge, before flicking her tail in dismissal. This is my sister, she should know if something might happen. Maplefur wondered how much she should tell Fria, before deciding to be completely honest. There was no point in making the situation seem less dangerous when in fact Maplefur might not come back out of it alive. "Fria? Fria, are you up?" She called out softly to the den in front of her. This is her den, right? I'm not at the wrong one? Beginning to panic slightly, she focused her eyes on the door, before calling out louder. "It's Maplefur, please hurry!"

"I can, Fria. It's very possible. I know I said living in the wild wasn't too bad, but I may have down graded it a bit. We'd left the house about three sunrises before then, and we were just starting to feel the hunger. We didn't know how to hunt, I don't know what I was thinking dragging her out there with me. We were joking around, pretending to hunt each other, and then suddenly it was on us. I heard Daisy yell out and when I turned to her, the fox was standing over her. I told her to run, before running up to it and slashing it across the nose, and then I followed her. At least, I thought I did. We got separated, and next thing I knew I turned around and she was gone. I looked for her for a moon, but I couldn't find any signs of her. No blood, no fur, but she was gone. Finally I found Thunderclan, and I've just kind of pushed it to the back of my mind, but not really. I don't mention it but everything I see reminds me of her. When... Whenever I smell fox, I go into a sort of panic and can't see or hear anything." Maplefur kept her eyes on the sky, she couldn't bear to look at her sister. The distance in her eyes faded to sadness, and she felt it crash over her in waves. She pressed herself a little closer, if possible, to Fria, pressing her head down on her shoulder. The calico she-cat closed her eyes, letting out a deep sigh and suppressing a sad wail.

Fria felt Maplefur and pressed into her. Sadness overwhelmed her, beating her down worse then hail, but age couldn't imagine what it must be like for her. I'm deeply said, but Maplefur was with her when it happened. She saw it all. And I don't know how to comfort get eithout sounding like I don't care... So she did nothing. She let her sister lean into her, and continued looking up at the sky. Daisy, if you're up there, watch over our sister. She needs family more than anything right now.

Blade shifted his paws, feeling uncomfortable. He hadn't heard Hail. He stood, looking over his shoulder, then began walking down the sidewalk. He felt like walking. He didn't care where, but he needed to do something. His eyes were down. He didn't realize it, but his paws were taking him to Apurva's old home. He stopped outside it, closing his eyes. He looked at the abandoned and broken Twoleg nest that his sister had once lived in, then he turned and raced back to where Fria and that other cat were at.

Blade took a step away nervously, his ears flicking. “I'm Blade.” he looked at Fria, his eyes giving away how confused he was. He looked back and forth between the two of them. “Um....” he started, then he stopped himself and flattened his ears. His tail drooped slightly and he lowered his head. His jaws parted in a yawn and lifted a paw uncertainly, as if about to take another step away from the strange and seemingly hostile molly.

"Blade doesn't sound like a clan name," Maplefur took a small step forward and sniffed the air. "And you don't smell like a clan cat." She relaxed for a moment. They haven't followed me. I'm safe, and so is Fria. Then she realized he could be a rogue. "Are you a rogue?" She looked the tom over, nervousness flitting across her gaze, before noticing his soft fur and clean appearance. "No, you're a kittypet." This time she relaxed completely, before looking down at her paws sheepishly. "Er, sorry." “I've been here for awhile, but I thought it rude to listen to what you were talking about, so I didn't hear what you were talking about....” he stopped, realizing that this wasn't a kittypet. Hope flickered in his amber gaze. “If you see a molly called Apurva, could you please tell me?” he asked, sitting down, his fear forgotten almost, though the fact that she didn't look like a kittypet bothered him ever so slightly. He could just imagine balls of energy running around them, being noisy and wonderful, just as kits often were. He pulled away a bit and tilted his head thoughtfully.

Smiling, Fria closed her eyes, thinking. "They should be meaningful names... like Daisy, maybe? Or Robert?" Honestly, she had no idea what to name the kits; there were so many choices, so many good names...! Elena? Cloudy? Rowan? Jake? Sapphire? Ruby? Louis? I don't know! "What do you think?" She asked, looking up at Blade. "I have too many ideas!"

“Well, I'm not to sure.... Perhaps..... Spark, Emerald, Or Coot....?” he asked, trailing away as he tried to think of more, but he wasn't sure yet. He closed his eyes, trying to think. Oh I just don't know.... Why is this so difficult? He scuffled his paws, opening his eyes and looking up, up towards the sky, looking for inspiration.

Fria followed his gaze, staring up into the bright blue yonder. It needs to be a good name; no random nonsense. I name is what describes a cat, makes them who they are... "Sky?" She said aloud, still looking up. "Sun? Or perhaps Flame?" She now thought even more deeply on the matter, throwing out odd names and meaningless ones. "Mist?"

“Hmm.... Mist is a maybe... But how about Misti?” He liked the different feel to it, and it was definitely unique. We need really good ones, not silly meaningless ones. But not too long, just right.... He sighed, hoping that they'd find something good. They needed a few, just in case they had lots of kits. He hoped so, but wasn't quite sure if they'd fine the right names. Blaze closed his eyes, letting the warmth of the sun heat his pelt.

"I like Misti. It's like... a common name, but with our twist to it." She leaned into Blade, thoughts spiraling. We need good tom and she cat names. We don't know which we'll have! She racked her brain, trying to think. "I quite like Jake as well. Maybe it's not the most creative name, but I've grown fond of it." She risked a glance into Blade's eyes, golden amber meeting emerald green, and hoped he understood. "How many kits would you want?" Fria asked softly. "I know I can't control it, but if I could...?"

“Jake is good.” Blade purred, not blinking or looking away from her emerald green gaze. Oh, I don't know! That's a difficult question.... I wouldn't want too many, but I wouldn't want too few. "Well, leaf-bare kits are always the strongest," Fria said quietly. "They'll be survivors, just like our sisters..." She'd only heard a little about Blade's sister, only that she'd run away, hoping to become a wild cat. She didn't know how much was true, of course, but she didn't dare ask. I don't want to ruin the moment with a sad story. Instead she looked down at her steadily growing belly, imagining the kits beforehand. "There should be a golden one, like you," Fria sighed. “They would send me outside every time I did it. Sometimes I'd scratch something just so they would let me out.” he replied, trying to calm himself. Cold wind sliced through his thick pelt, causing him to shiver, but other than that, the moment was perfect. Blade looked around, then he saw something that made his mouth water. I mean, the kits defiantly can't, but I don't want to turning into a popsicle!" She'd seen Twolegs walk around with colored things on sticks in green-leaf, and they dripped a lot. Some cats called them popsicles, and she'd picked up on it. "I cant lose you..." I'll die without you!
“I should be alright.” he purred, nudging her shoulder gently with his nose. “It's not that far, and as long as I run here, I should avoid turning into an kittysicle.” he replied, laughing at the last part. He breathed in her scent, finding it very comforting to know that she was there and she was his. “I can't lose you either. I love you....” he stopped, then continued grooming her soft black and white fur, teasing out any tangles and dirt that might be there.

Fria sighed happily. "I love you, too." She let Blade clean her fur, actually glad he'd done that. I'd been needing to wash... but my Twolegs never give me the chance! And I do not want to go into the bath again! "Hey, Blade?" She finally asked, turning around just a bit. "Have you ever been in a bath before? Ya know, the large things filled with water where they hold you down and almost drown you?"

Blade shuddered. “Yes. I don't really understand why they do that to us. I mean, we're very capable of cleaning ourselves.” he answered, looking up. He stopping grooming her fur, which was now quite clean, and moved on to his own fur, which was rather unkempt looking. I hate bathes! Unless of course I'm bathing myself, no water involved. He thought, twitching his whiskers, remembering the times he'd been given a bath by his housefolk. The big brown tabby tom looked up again and fluffed out his fur, which made him look like he was much bigger everywhere except his head, giving him the appearance as if his head were too small.

Fria murrowed. "Here, let me help you." She moved closed to Blade and began to lick his fur, starting with his shoulders. "But - do they really think water can get us clean? Watching this way is much better; isn't that how everyone does it?" Water in her fur was terrifying as it was, and when Twolegs decided to bathe her... it only got worse. If Twolegs always wash in water... they're even crazier than we think! She leaned forward more, getting at a knot on his shoulder.

“Thanks.” Blade purred, appreciating the help. “Hmm. I suppose they're very crazy. If they'd just listen when we try to teach them how to properly bathe themselves, they'd be far cleaner.” he added, licking a paw and drawing it over one ear several times. Then he moved on, trying to catch a flea at the base of his tail. He caught in his teeth and crushed it, then passed his tongue over his lips to rid himself of the taste. “Yuck!” he muttered.

She continued to lap Blade's fur, now checking for fleas and ticks. She giggled a bit as Blade complained, but said nothing. One of our kits must have a personality like him! "You have such soft fur..." She murmured, pressing her face into it. "Dont ever become a wild cat and ruin this beautiful creation!" (Ok yes, I'm sorry, that was random XD)

Fria nodded, and stood up and stretched. "Sure! Anywhere - and anything - is fine! What should we do?" She looked around for something interesting to do. "My yard isn't fit for interesting things..." She scanned the area outside with her emerald eyes, even looking into the forest for inspiration. "Have you... you ever climbed a tree?" She asked, glancing at Blade.

“No. Apurva tried to teach me, but I didn't want to. I'd been rather preoccupied that day.” Blade replied, tilting his head to one side curiously. “Have you?” He followed her gaze to the forest. The trees swayed gently in the breeze, and Blade was surprised something so tall could stay upright with just toppling over at the slightest gust of wind. He supposed that their roots must spread very deep down and very wide beneath the surface of grass and dirt.

"Well..." She glanced back at the trees. "I've tried; does that count?" When Fria was younger, she and her sisters had tried to climb the trees outside their den. They'd only made it to the first branch before Maple had fallen off, and since them they'd never tried again. And now she probably climbs trees every day! "I tried once, but my sister fell," She said. "I haven't tried since. But, I mean, she's a wild cat now; she probably climbs trees all day, chasing squirrels and such. How hard can it be?" She walked over to the back fence and jumped onto it. "You wanna try?"

Blade looked up at the tall trees looming high overhead. “If you promise not to laugh.” he teased. He was only joking. She was welcome to laugh all she wanted. He would've asked her to climb too, but with her expecting their kits, he didn't want to risk her life, or the lives of any of his unborn kits' lives. He leaped on to the fence beside her, following her green gaze. Then he looked up higher and blinked in surprise. On one of the branches was a squirrel. It let out a long chattering alarm cry and leaped gracefully along the branch, moving with such an ease that Blade knew could only be achieved by squirrels. He wobbled on the fence, nearly falling, but he stayed upright on the fence.

Fria glanced at Blade, and giggled slightly as he started to lose his balance. "With balance like that you'll never stay on a tree branch!" She said, smiling. She jumped down, landing on the soft grass Twolegs tried - and failed - to recreate. She raced to the base of a thick oak tree, looking up at the branches. "They look pretty sturdy..." She meowed. Blade watched how Fria moved for a moment. He hoped all their kits had her easy grace that he quite clearly lacked. He was clumsy and had pretty awful balance. He knew that that was just the way he was, and he liked the challenge. After a lot of practice, he was improving. Still, he was pretty bad, but nothing compared to how he had been. He shook his head vigorously then leaped down and ran after her, crouching at the base of a thick oak, his head back as a peered upwards.

The leaves moved in a graceful pattern in the wind, obviously not afraid of the height they lived in. I wish I was as fearless as them... "C'mon! We can do it!" Right? She unsheathed her claws and reared up on her back legs. Of course, she forgot about the slight extra weight in her stomach, and fell backwards on her back. "I'm fine," Fria quickly got up again, and tried once more, this time throwing her weight against the tree for support. She dug her claws into the soft bark send looked back at Blade. "See? It was a bit different than he'd been expecting, and after a moment he hauled himself up, digging in with his back claws. He was now clinging to the side of the tree. “I feel like a squirrel.” he muttered, looking down. He nearly slipped, but instead, Blade repeated the process until he was a fox length higher than before. “This is different than I'd expected.” he said, looking down. Big mistake. He slipped and fell, sliding down the trunk until his paws touched the ground. The shock of it wasn't expected, and Blade stumbled backwards. He wasn't hurt or anything, just a bit surprised.

Fria laughed. "You did better than me, at least!" She tried to copy Blade's strategy, digging in with her back claws too, and pushed herself upwards. "I-I'm doing it!" She yowled down, careful not to actually look. It was a slow and tedious process, but eventually she made it to the first branch. Having the extra weight was not fun to lift up, and it took a lot longer than it should've for Fria to finally cling onto the branch safely. "Blade! Its so cool up here!" It really wasn't that high, but to the inexperienced she-cat, it was the top of the world. She was equivalent to the tops of the Twoleg dens, and could look down into her own yard. Blade nodded, his eyes growing solemn. “Look there.” he pointed with one paw in the direction of a beat up and battered looking den with broken windows, a broken fence and several other details. It'd obviously been abandoned for several moons. He knew who had lived there, but no longer did his younger half-sister live there. “That was Apurva's house.” he rubbed against his mate for warmth, very happy that they couldn't be disturbed from way up here. How could a cat stand to live there? "Did she live with Twolegs?" She questioned. "Because from what I know, they hate dirty stuff, and that's the definition of dirty." Fria had plenty of questions tumbling around her head, but didn't dare ask any of them. Is she you sister? Your friend? Why did she live there? What about Twolegs? Or other wild cats? “It didn't always look like that. From what she told me, it burned down and her housefolk abandoned it and her. I asked her to live with me, but she refused.” Blade said, though the thought made his fur itch. Blade nodded, though doubt shown clearly in his eyes. The dark tabby stood hesitantly, keeping low and close to the branch. He slid backwards off it, then tried to go back up, but he couldn't. A moment of panic seized him and for a moment, all he could sense was mounting fear, then his hind paws connected with the bark, and he felt as if that tree was anchoring him to his thoughts, keeping him from blacking out. He dug in his claws and started getting a bit confident in what he was doing. But when he tried to gets his front claws on, his back legs slipped and he fell, landing with a thud on the ground. Luckily, he'd not been too high, and he'd landed on moss. He let out a groan, but stood up shakily. “I-I'm alright.” he meowed, which was true. She was a risk taker alright.” he laughed, shaking out his fur.

Fria gasped as Blade fell. "Blade!" She ran over to him, helping him up. "Are you sure you're ok? That was quite a fall!" The black and white cat looked her mate over for injuries, making sure he wasn't lying. The last thing I need is for him to be getting hurt! Her pelt was still spiked up in fear, but she tried to force it flat. He-He's fine. He has to be. Fria saw no blood, installing limbs, but wasn't certain. "If you're in pain, you have to tell me, ok?"

Blade nodded. “I'll probably just end up with a small bruise though.” he rubbed his cheek against hers. “I'm just glad that it wasn't bad.” it hadn't helped with his doubtfulness or uncertainty, but it had taught him that just because he was afraid didn't mean he had reason to be afraid. It was okay to take the occasional risk if it was for Fria. He knew that he would gladly die for her, though it's always better if there's an option that doesn't involve someone dying.

Blade yawned and sat down. “I'm so tired I could sleep for moons.” he was just joking. He wasn't anywhere near that tired, but he was tired. He stood up again. “You should rest.” Blade dipped his head and stepped forwards so he was at her shoulder. And so should I. He thought, flicking his tail playfully over one of her ear tips.

"I hope the kits don't mind," She said quietly, again looking down at her swollen belly. "Maybe they'll get an adventurous spirit because of all this excitement!" She felt as if her paws wouldn't support her any more, but she forced herself upright.

Blade purred, looking down at his kits, pride swelling in his chest as he looked down with loving eyes at his mate. “You did it!” he purred, nuzzling her cheek, then licking each of his three kits. “I'm a father!” he gasped, sitting back on his haunches and examing each kit carefully. They were parents! He lay on his side, purring, joy, pure joy, more joy than he'd ever felt before clouding out all his other emotions as he lay with his mate and kits. His family.

Small and fragile, Spark squealed and squeaked, his body squirming in the cool, leaf-bare air. The small kit sidled up to his mother, and began suckling quietly, while needing her stomach. Though he felt the presence of more cats than his mother, who he could barely identify in his small kit mind. There were three more forms, ones that scents mingled with the sweetness of his mothers milk. Spark wiggled and squirmed, part of his 'sparky' personality showing through, though he was only minutes old.

Blade purred, looking down at their kits, love alight in his amber gaze as he stared at the very wriggly one. It was very wiggly, and already, it couldn't seem to hold still. Blade laughed. “How about.... Spark!” he exclaimed, thinking that the name seemed to fit the bouncy tom very well indeed. He looked at Fria. “Now you name one.” he meowed encouragingly, not adding that after they had named the kits, she could sleep. He would sit beside her and watch the kits while she was asleep. He could easily tell that she needed sleep anyways.

Fria though for a moment, trying to think of names. "Well..." She looked over at their only daughter, who hadn't moved as much yet. "What about, for our daughter, Misti?" It matches her fur, and I think it'll match her personality, too. She glanced back up at Blade, hoping for approval. And Jake is a beautiful name, as well!

“Yes!” Blade purred his approval to his mate. He just could not wait until his kits were old enough to play. He hoped that once they were, he would have the chance to see them and play, but an aching sadness burned in his heart whenever he thought of them getting older. Once they were weaned, he would have to say goodbye to them forever.... He tried to push that thought to the back of his mind, yet it didn't go away completely, though he kept his thoughts on something else; the present. Not the future. He'd worry when it came to it, not before. He looked at the last kit, touching his nose to Fria's. “We both agreed to call one Jake. He's the last one. He can be Jake.” the large dark tabby purred.

Fria purred, her voice being slightly high-pitched. "He looks like a good Jake." She licked little Jake lovingly, moving his fur the wrong way for warmth. He's going to be a survivor, I just know it! Once she'd done that, she did the same for Misti, pushing the she-kit closer to her belly in hopes she'd begin to suckle. And you... you'll be super smart, and playful... She thought about how she'd be able to watch them play when they were older, and along with that came the thought of them being given away. It made her shudder inside, the fact that Twolegs were as cruel as to split families. Evil creatures, in that way... Pushing the thought away, Fria pulled Jake closer to her, and looked up at Blade. "I can't wait to play with them..." She held back a yawn, meeting his gaze happily.

The gave each kit a gentle lick on the head, then lay down beside Fria so that he could see her and their family better. I'm so proud of them! They're going to be strong and brave cats. One day. He looked down, upon the three kits that he would get to watch grow up. He had by now forgotten about how he wouldn't watch them grow up completely.

Spark snuggled closer to his mother, small, almost strangled cries echoed in the air. Spark had almost no warmth, though his pelt was pressed against Fria and his siblings. He started to squirm away from his mother's body, though he was seeking a deep warmth, he still strayed from the enticing thought of milk. Spark came across the large paws that had belonged to Blade. Fria smiled down at her family, watching her sons attempt to get her milk. She could sense all of their happiness without even speaking, and wished none of that would ever change. But it will, someday. Blade won't always be able to visit, not if that snowstorm keeps up, and someday, I'll be separated from all of them... The thought broke her heart in two, so she pushed the reality away from her mind. That's a problem for later. For now... There wasn't anything that could truly separate them - not even the strongest storm or the most stubborn Twolegs.
