(Before I start, I'd like to mention that I may have seen the name on a plot finder and liked it enough to use it. Sorry, if you were the original 'creator' of the name, you can have credit for it.)
Far in the future, the neighboring underground cities of A1943A and A1943B are two of the millions of tiny, cubicle-like towns ruled by the Council, three immortal men and women. They claim to have been living since the beginning of time, that they have finally found a way to create a perfect society. Their solution was to ban all emotions and instincts, because they lead to war and the destruction of the world, as had happened previously, or so citizens are told. Medication to keep all humans (other than the Council members) from feeling anything, or from questioning orders is put into all food and drink before it's delivered to the towns. Basically, all citizens are brain-dead zombies.
Of course, this system has flaws. For some teens, the medication has no effect, due to hormonal levels and such counteracting it, but this is very, very rare. Others, such as the poor, don't eat, and therefore don't get the medications. Usually it's not a problem, as those who can't or don't eat die before they can cause any damage. This year, however, the number of unaffected kids is so high in A1943A and A1943B that the Council has scheduled a special execution for them. Unfortunately, the schedule for the execution was mixed up with a group sent for patrols above ground, and the Council isn't likely to realize their mistake. This could either lead to a disastrous end for the teens, or a revolution. It's your choice.
