Swamppaw nodded solemnly, having expected Applepaw's shocked reaction, he almost didn't know what to say next. "Cloudwatcher and her were apparently a thing, I hadn't belonged to Lunarstripe at all..." The apprentice looked a bit lost, his eyes cloudy. "And now my whole family is dead, every bit of my kin, my father, my mother, my siblings. It's like StarClan is punishing me for something that I couldn't have prevented if I had wanted to." He finally tugged his gaze from her, looking at his paws instead. "I've kept the secret for a long time, afraid to tell anybody because it'd make my life so complicated... but, maybe that's why I'm being punished. If I had only told back then, do you think StarClan would have let them live?" He knew it was a stupid question to ask; why would Applepaw even know the answers? But, it was what he felt at the moment, something that had been on his shoulders since they all began to die.

Applepaw didn't want this, really, but the molly felt her fur bunch up in disgust as she heard this- Starclan killed his parents? They're cruel to do this- how do we ever let them boss us around when they kill our families, make our parents hate each other! "...Starclan is cruel. They split our families apart, and don't even do anything good for us- why would they even do this?" Letting out a low hiss, her tail dragged back and forth across the den floor with rage. "Why would they ever do something like that to you? Swamppaw, you're not to blame- you're the kindest cat I've ever known, for goodness' sakes- Y'know, you're more like my family than any biological connection I've ever had." Trying to comfort him, Applepaw really did feel a connection with this tom, whom she'd known for all her life. She wanted to help him, to make sure that he was happy. Swamppaw was the only cat who made her feel happy when she was down, and she had to do the same.

Swamppaw looked up just in time to catch her look of disgust, and instantly felt as if it was directed toward him. But, he reasoned to himself quickly; Applepaw would never hate me for being a medicine cat's kit. She isn't like that. His thoughts were confirmed when she spoke next, and he felt a cold shiver run down his spine at her words. Speaking of StarClan that way... was that good or bad? As she continued, he listened, his face passive to the words she spoke. However, his heart felt full at the end of her tiny speech, as if her words had just filled him right up with joy. She's right, I didn't deserve this. StarClan is cruel. "Thanks," He finally spoke, leaning forward to nuzzle her cheek affectionately. "You're my family too." The tom sat back after that moment, realizing he had lingered by her face when he had spoken. "You always seem to be able to cheer me up," He mewed, a small smile wiping away any last remnants of sadness.

"...Y'know, you mean a lot to me- and I'm not being sappy here, but I'm just telling the truth like it is." Applepaw blurted out to Swamppaw, her eyes filled with emotion. She usually never got close to other cats, and she even pushed aside all of her family- of course, it was Starclan's fault for breaking up her family, but still- Swamppaw, though, was her only exception. It was like he completely understood her and her actions, and that he always got what she was trying to say without an explanation needed. Nobody else gave her that kind of treatment, that kind of praise and help with her problems. He was an exception, he was so special to her that it tugged her heartstrings to leave a conversation with him in it. It's almost like you're the only one who understands me, Swamp- it's such a nice feeling to be understood, isn't it? Heh, even my ancestors probably don't understand a single thing I say, but it's all true- and damn, it's the best things any cat has ever said, even if it challenges the stars. The stars have done terrible things to me, and so I can retaliate. "Swamppaw, I love you."

If Swamppaw's heart had been full of joy before, it was now ready to burst. At first, he just blinked dumbly at Applepaw, his mind racing. Wait, did I hear that correctly? Am I dreaming again? He dug his claws into the dirt, just to check. Nope, the ground feels too real... Okay, okay, deep breaths, calm face, calm, caallllmmmm... She can't mean that in the way you want her to mean it, it's got to be family type of love... right? RIGHT? Oh, StarClan, I'm screwed. By now, it had sunk completely in, and his heart began to match the pace of his thoughts. Smooth, Swamppaw, keep it smooth. Don't assume. The apprentice opened his mouth, planning to say something vague but pleasant. Instead, when he opened his mouth all that came out was: "I love you too!" Which was blurted, a lot louder than he had meant to say it, but with complete confidence. The tom would have laughed if he could; he was supposed to be calm in any situation as long as he wasn't alone, but apparently that wasn't the case with Applepaw. It was weird how such a small cat could make him feel so much at one time, and with only three words. Three words, 8 letters, 6 vowels; simple and yet they meant so much. At this point, he almost didn't care if she had meant the simple phrase in only a family-love way, he was realizing that as long as he could be near her, it would make him the happiest tom alive

Her life had been a mess. All of it.

Applepaw wasn't a cat who had a lot of friends, not from the time she was younger- her only friends were Swampkit, Seakit, Swallowkit, Willowkit, and Rainkit- Swallow would disappear during kithood, Rainkit to become an apprentice and then running away- and Willowkit, she was apprenticed to her own father, and then she drowned during her first lesson, carried away by the currents.

Seakit, now Seapaw- was her sister. And the moment that they became apprentices, they drifted away from each other, and it became clear that they had different ideologies, that they weren't meant to get along anymore. Even though they were related, blood wasn't thicker than water- she didn't really care much about Seapaw anymore, and she didn't think her sister did the same for her, either.

That all left Swamppaw, the only cat who'd ever been there for her in a time of crisis, a time where she felt like she was all alone. She'd gotten stronger now, but it was evident that they could be best friends, that they were best friends- and maybe even more. How much she wished she could just become his mate right now, that they'd rule the world together, that they'd be perfect. It was a kit's dream, but she wanted to be happy- and with other cats, she was never happy. Applepaw was a loner, and the only ones she trusted were her aunt and Swamppaw- and when he said he loved her too, her heart seemed to explode.

"..." Setting her head on his shoulder, the molly's eyes glimmered with happiness as she looked up at the other apprentice's gaze- he was amazing, and he was hers. This was the one thing she had that could not be stolen by her sister, the one cat who could never disappear from her life. "...You're my whole world, y'know that?"

"You're better than every single one of those stars up in the sky, combined. Because you're you, and I'm me- and you're perfect, Swamppaw."

(Imma make some stuff up, so don't mind meh XD)

Swamppaw could remember the day he had met Applepaw as clearly as if it had been yesterday. Of course, it had been her sister that had introduced the two of them. But Seakit had bounced off to hang out with some other cat named Hickorykit or something almost immediately after introducing herself. Applekit had been sickly and extremely shy, and he had been the complete opposite. He wasn't shy, he just didn't like getting to know people, and honestly he was a bit scary. However, something mirculous happened when he met the other kitten. He had liked her almost immediately, he had opened up, he became her friend, her family.

Of course, Applepaw had gone through a complete change throughout the time he had known her. She became stronger, courageous, the complete opposite of who she had been before. And Swamppaw changed too, he learned things about himself, he lost his family, he grew up. Applepaw could have left him behind when she changed as well, but she didn't, and Swamppaw didn't leave her behind either. They supported eachother, and continued to do that today, and will probably always continue to do that. They were best friends, and now they were something beyond that, at a place somewhere between friends and partners for life.

Swamppaw's eyes shined with emotion, so full of love for the cat beside him that it seemed to bring tears to his eyes. A purr rumbled in his chest as she laid her head on his shoulder, and he pressed his side to hers in response. "Of course, and you're my whole world as well. My whole universe. My whole... everything. I can't imagine my life without you in it."

His chest shook with a small chuckle after she had told him he was perfect, his ears perking. "I learned from the master," The apprentice mused as a response, leaning his head against hers.

They were best friends, huh? Bonding over their lack of family, maybe- Swamppaw's more literally, and Applepaw's lack more... stuck in her head, a feeling of abandonment. Sure, almost all of her younger siblings weren't here with her, but her parents, Seapaw, and Spicekit were all alive and kicking- though they weren't on the best of terms with each other, really. Seapaw was too... nice, really- she didn't seem to care much about the feelings of others, just some sort of warped innocence, really. "Oh, you're such a goof." She laughed, feeling one of the happiest emotions she'd felt in a long while- it was absolute joy.

"...I used to be really quiet, y'know? And look at me- look at us now! We're amazing, and we're grown." Purring gently, the she-cat looked up towards the den roof as she stayed close to Swamppaw, wondering how long they'd been in there for. It was like she'd spent her entire life in the apprentices' den, just waiting for some sort of change- and here it was. "Hey, we might even be due to become warriors soon! Maybe we'll even become them together, so we can get our full names at the same time- it'd be amazing. I don't know how my life would be without you in it, surely- but I do know that you make my life so much better."

The new apprentice walked into the den, shaking, she had a rough life as a rouge, and was happy that the clan had let her in. She had a scar over her left shoulder, many cat in the clan used it as an excuse not to talk to her.
She went and went to the empty nest in a corner at the back of the den.

She purred with pride, there was something undeniably exciting to her about having a new apprentice.

The young apprentice walked forward, waving her tail. "What are we gonna learn today?" She asked. Her blue orbs looked around. A few apprentices were sleeping. They were happy, not alone, she shook the thoughts from her mind.
She doesn't love you, only Foxpelt could do that
I just got her as a mentor
And? She'll never be Foxpelt good old dead Foxpelt

"Well, I'm not sure yet. I figured we'd just kind of wing it, you okay with that?" Gooseheart shrugged and gave a lopsided grin to Moonpaw. She wasn't used to this whole 'mentoring' thing quite yet, she also wasn't used to the 'planning' thing either. That was an entirely different battle and she decided she didn't want to tackle that one just yet. "Was there anything you liked to do best with Foxpelt?" She inquired, padded towards the exit of camp.

The silver she looked up at her new mentor managing to flash a quick smile before looking at the path ahead of them. "We worked on river battling, it might be to cold now, I think the last thing we worked on was catching land prey incase the river froze over, should we do that?" Moonpaw asked. She refused to use her mentors name. Moonpaw sighed quietly, walking beside her mentor quickly, trying to keep up with the mentors fast pace.

Moonpaw scrambled into the apprentices den. The surprise gathering had warn her out. Her first one as a apprentice and the first one since Bucknight had left. Moonpaw flopped in her nest, messing up the miss around it. Her heart still ached since Foxpelt did see it with her. Moonpaw then thought about all the things she would have to do, "Why Foxpelt.." She mumbled. The she cat sighed, licking her paw and swiping it over her grey and black ears. Her silver fur shined in the light, Moonpaw flicked her tail and let out a depressed sigh. Foxpelt had left her.. That was the only thing she could think about.

But she was not a kit anymore. She was an apprentice now, and she might as well get to know the others.

(Well, when it comes to the main roleplay, you can just jump in. I am not entirely sure about how people feel about a random cat walking into their conversation, though.)

Galepaw padded into the den and looked aorund, her daisy crown on her right ear like always, and her orange eyes glowing softly in the sunrise. She loved the warmth the morning had and so decided to hang with her siblings for a bit. She padded to Petalpaw and smiled. "Heya, sis." she purred. "Where's Geyserpaw and Adderpaw?"

The ginger-splotched she-cat looked up. "I don't know; they left before I got up. I'm lucky though, it looks freezing outside." Petalpaw started licking her bed-fur back down. "They'll be back soon though. Last night the river was frozen. Why do you want to see them? You hunt with and patrol with them tons." She mewed. Petalpaw did lover her siblings though; its just that she had a sleepless night last night; and was tired.

"I just got back from a patrol." she chuckled. "Wonderful, those two are always leaving you behind." she purred and licked her sister's ear. "Rough night? You were stirring alot." she said, and sat down, her normal, faint scent of daisies still on her from her trip to the daisy patch in the far meadow.

"Good for you. You got your fur soaked. I don't mind warm water, but in the middle of winter? No way." The she-cat shifted as her sister talked about last night. Petalpaw had been somewhere that she didn't want her sibling to be. Never. Petalpaw chuckled as she smelt her daisy tinted scent. "Here I thought you were pushing yourself through a blizzard; but you were just in the daisy feilds weren't you?"

"Like always." she purred. "It wasn't that bad last night. It's actually quite warm outside right now. It ain't my fault you were born with the thin fur." she joked, pawing her sister kindly and playfully. "The daisies are finally coming up again. The meadow will be covered with white like winter by mid-greenleaf." she purred, smiling at her sister.

"Petalspirit. StarClan will honor your kindness and loyalty." Galepaw replied sounding like a leader. She chuckled softly at her voice trying to match Russetstar's. Petalpaw snickered as she heard her sisters words. "When your old enough, I bet you'll be leader. Maybe Adder could be your deputy." The she-cat thought for a moment, "I'll be the medicine cat, calm and struck, yet kind. What about Geyser? What would he do? We can't leave him out."

"Hm, Geyser would be my second deputy. He's strong and tough and loyal, but fun. We'd all be the best people of our clan!" she purred, and smiled at her sister again. She'd say a million times over she had the best siblings. They'd always be there for each other, and she knew it. Smiling, she pawed her sister playfully. Thunderpaw padded into the Apprentices' Den, his mind clearly on one thing. It was impossible for him to notice anything else in his surroundings as he headed towards his nest, although his hues swept around looking for one cat in particular; the familiar features of his best friend. He hadn't seen her in moons...they would both be warriors soon, wouldn't they? He hoped so. He was eager to spend time with his friend when they didn't have training to do...true, they would still have duties to do as warriors, but they would be able to do them together. The tom curled his tail around himself as a method of warming up and sighed, his blue hues gazing around for his friend once more. Thunderpaw could feel himself warming up already, comforted by the thought that he might see Tawnypaw sometime soon.

The ginger and tawny colored she-cat apprentice yawned as she woke from her nap, make herself open her still tired eyes. She stretched out her legs individually, before she pushed herself up into a sitting position. Looking around to see who else was in the den, Tawnypaw's eyes widened as she caught sight of a very familiar cat; her best friend. "Thunderpaw!" She exclaimed, thankful that there were no sleeping apprentices in the den yet. Quieting her voice, she smiled, "It's been awhile! I'm sorry I haven't been around much," she padded over to the tom, sitting next to him, "I've just been really busy with training. But hey!" Her grin widened, "We'll be warriors soon, and that means no more training! How have you been?"

He mewed in a joking tone, making his voice as dramatic as possible before he seemed to calm some and his hues became more serious. "I missed you." He added in a lower voice, shifting his weight a little as though he were embarrassed to say those words. It had been a long, long time since the two of them last interacted and Thunderpaw was feeling a little more confused then usual with...well...himself. He glanced over at her, smiling as he listened to her talking. "That's right. No more training, but we will have things to do...it's not like we're completely off the hook." He purred, nudging his friend lightly with a smile on his maw. It was impossible for him to stay worried- she always made everything so much better for him. "I've been doing great. It's just, y'know, with...everything going on, I haven't really gotten a chance to do much else but train lately. And I've missed hanging out with you a lot, I mean you in general too, but just...y'know, messing around and stuff. What about you, how have you been?" Thunderpaw asked, glancing worriedly at his friend. Had she been hurt during Bucknight's reign? Or the fight? He hoped not, he would have hated to see his best friend get in trouble under the crippling rule of that tyrant. Thunderpaw was glad that RiverClan was going to be a better place to live in from now on- at least, he hoped so. He didn't want their new leader, Russetstar, to end up like Bucknight had. He wouldn't. He couldn't, right? As far as Thunderpaw was concerned, that wasn't even a possibility. There was no doubt in his mind that things were going to be just fine from now on.

Tawnypaw laughed at the drama that Thunderpaw had intentionally weighed his words with, before she replied to his next statement. "I missed you too," she mewed back, looking at the tom fondly, "like, a lot." As her best friend shifted his weight, she gave a little laugh at the end of her reply. She rolled her eyes playfully at what he said next. "Oh, I know. But it'll be easier than constant training." She nudged Thunderpaw back, before she looked down at her usual spot in the den as she gave her answer, her pelt heating up at his words. "I've definitely missed hanging out with you too," she responded, before looking up at him again. "I've been okay," she replied, "besides, of course, when those times were happening. I'm sure no one was okay when that was going on." She looked down at her pelt, the side that was facing away from the other apprentice, which had a scar in the shape of four claw marks running down it a small ways. It wasn't a large scar, luckily not too noticeable, but certainly the most noticeable injury she'd gotten in the time of Bucknight's reign. The rest were easily healed, simply little scratches mostly. Though she'd been nearing the end of her training when the terrible time happened, she knew from the beginning she most likely wouldn't make it out unscathed. Her light green gaze drifted back to Thunderpaw, snapping out of her short trance. Looking at her own scar made her hope the tom hadn't gotten badly injured during the harsh times. She knew there was a chance he had a scar or two, but she could hope he didn't until proven otherwise. She gave her tail a nonchalant flick, noticing that the tom looked like he was thinking. She silently wondered what it was he was thinking about.

Thunderpaw glanced at his friend and grinned- a friendly, genuine one. "No kidding. I think my mentor's trying to kill me before I become a warrior...guess he just doesn't want me taking his spot. Too bad, though...I would make an excellent warrior." Thunderpaw mewed, unsheathing his claws and stretching them on the nursery floor. He rolled over onto his side in a kit-like fashion, his tail sweeping across the ground as a laugh escaped his maw. This was fun. It had been times like these that he had missed with Tawnypaw...and he was so, so glad she was back now. "Oh, I don't know. I saw quite a few cats who looked as happy as they could be during those times. Even during the battle, they were happy! Happy to be-" He cut himself off, not wanting to speak any further about the darker times. A shudder went down the tom's spine as he tried to shut the memory out of his head, though he knew it probably wouldn't work. No- those memories were going to remain with him for good, whether he wanted them to or not- and he definitely didn't. Thunderpaw yawned, feeling somewhat tired from the day. He cocked his head to the side, seeing her look down at her other side. Was something wrong? Had she gotten hurt, either now or not too long ago? A look of concern passed over his features, but he didn't question her. Whatever it was, she would tell him if she wanted to. "Are you tired at all? Cold?" Thunderpaw asked, looking down at his own somewhat shorter grey pelt and feeling strange for asking. She was the one with the thicker pelt, so obviously she wouldn't be as cold- right? Or did that really keep out the cold? He glanced at Tawnypaw, awaiting her answer with a half worried, half questioning expression as he did so.

The tawny-ginger patched apprentice laughed yet again, "My mentor acts all rough and strict, but she loves me. I know she does." She watched the tom stretch his claws, nodding. "Yes, yes you would, Thunderpaw," she responded. Then, as the other apprentice began responding to another earlier statement she made, she shuddered, her smile disappearing. When he cut himself off, Tawnypaw made no effort to ask hin to finish his sentence. She silently agreed with what she thought the tom was thinking: enough talk about dark pasts. She saw Thunderpaw's concered look when she removed her green gaze from her pelt, though made no effort to deliberately show him. She appreciated his lack of questioning, and didn't plan to make an effort to hide the scar either; she figured the tom would see it when he saw it, which she figured would be soon. Cocking her head the the side at his question, she followed his gaze to his thinner pelt, before she looked at her own thicker tawny and ginger patched fur. Her grin returned as she looked at the tom fondly, appreciating his concern. "A little tired, I suppose, but I'm not sure if that's because I'm still a little groggy from earlier or if I didn't sleep well. As for asking if I'm cold," she chuckled, "I think I should be asking you that."

Thunderpaw grinned again at Tawnypaw's remark, and then curled his tail around himself as though in an effort to keep out the cold. The Apprentices' Den was pretty warm, if he were being honest...it felt nice. He liked it. He had spent some good times in here, but then again, there had been some bad ones as well. More good then bad though, right? He thought. Thunderpaw always had been one to look on the brighter side, and he wasn't going to stop now, especially since his friend was here. "You'd made a pretty great warrior yourself, y'know. I actually think you'd make a better one- and end up protecting us all," Thunderpaw mewed with a hint of laughter in his voice. He was being partly serious...he had thought for a while that Tawnypaw would be a better warrior then him, although he had chosen not to show his concern that she might leave him and end up with stronger warriors like herself since he knew that wouldn't be quite fair. Didn't every apprentice want to be a good warrior? And besides, it hadn't even happened yet, so there wasn't much sense in wondering what could happen.
Right? "Hm. It's been a long day, I'm super tired...and a little cold, but nothing too bad." Thunderpaw mewed, curling his tail around himself a little tighter and then loosening it, the tip of his tail twitching a little in anxiety as he did so. "Remember how we used to...to share a nest, when we were younger? We fit a lot better then, but I bet...I bet we could do it again." Thunderpaw mewed in a somewhat shy tone, lowering his head in embarrassment as he did so. That sounded a lot better in my head. Oh StarClan, what does she think of me now? Thunderpaw wondered, lowering his hues to look at his paws. Ever since Tigerpaw had just...left him, he had always wondered what might have happened had she stayed. Would he and Tawnypaw still be as close of friends? Would she be jealous of Tigerpaw? Would Tigerpaw hang out with Otterpaw and end up with him? Thunderpaw didn't know the answer, but he knew one thing for sure:

He was glad that Tigerpaw had left, and he had Tawnypaw now.

Tawnypaw noticed when he spike about it that the tom did look like he felt a bit chilly; she, on the other paw, didn't really feel cold at all. Not warm, but not cold either. Choosing to respond to the toms remark about her being a warrior first, she laughed. "No, I doing I'll be a better warrior than you," she mewed, "But I'm pretty sure that I'll become experienced over time." As the tom talked about being tired and asked if she remembered, she smiled and nodded. Her eyes widened a bit when he asked if she'd like to do it again, but she quickly recovered from her slight surprise at the question and nodded eagerly. "Yeah, we could try and do that," she replied, "I mean, I'm pretty tired too. I know I was sleeping earlier but I didn't sleep well, and it wasn't for long."
(sorry for the short post, i'm tired and sickly)

Thunderpaw yawned, revealing his light pink tongue and ivory fangs before he turned his head away. He was tired...it had been a while since he had gotten a good night's rest. First he had been on edge because of Bucknight and Thornfrost's rule, and now he was exhausted from training. He grinned at his friend's words, the tip of his tail twitching back and forth as he did so. He was grateful for her confidence though he doubted that what she said was true. He guessed that she would end up being the better warrior. "If you say so. I'm glad we'll be warriors together," He mewed with another smile in her direction, trying to get the warm feeling that he had had before back. It had been scary, yes...and strange, too...but it had given him the warmth that he desired along with a sense of reassurance that he hadn't felt in a while. Not since he had seen her last. A memory flashed back in his head...them, in the territory...and he had given her that red flower. And told her she looked pretty. It hadn't been a joke, though he had treated it as one, and he remembered the same warm feelings. "Yeah, same here...I know we're not as small as we used to be, but we could probably fit." He mewed, moving over a little to make room for Tawnypaw. He was a little embarassed, though he was careful not to show it. They were friends. There was no shame in trying to share a nest, as they had when they were younger...though Thunderpaw now knew that the sweet innocence they had had as younger apprentices was gone. They were older now. And with age came new, and unusual feelings... feelings such as these.

Tawnypaw nodded, "I'm glad we will too," she said happily. As the tom made sone room in the nest, she walked the few steps toward it, feelings nerves pick at her with each of the three steps she took. She stepped into the nest, before laying down and curling up into a comfortable ball to make herself smaller. It was a tight fit, yes, but they still fit inside the nest. Tawnypaw's pelt was pressed against Thunderpaw's; she felt her pelt heating up, as well as her ears, and not just because she was pressed against another warm body. This was very comfortable, despite being squished together in an apprentice nest made for one cat. In a way, that made it better. Being this close to Thunderpaw made the tiny, unnoticed odd feelings grow intensely, though it wasn't odd in a bad way. She enjoyed being this close to Thunderpaw. She felt shy, which was odd for her, because she was never shy. With said shyness accompanying her actions, she moved around a little, trying to get a little more comfortable. She ended up slipping into a very comfortable spot, but after a moment in the spot she realized sonething; if she was any closer to Thunderpaw, he wouldn't even be in the nest anymore. "A-Are you comfortable?" She asked quickly, "I've been making myself so but I don't even know if you are, I'm sorry."

Thunderpaw could feel Tawnypaw's softer, thicker pelt pressed against his own shorter grey one and felt a smile come onto his maw. The contact brought back good, warm memories made him feel almost as though it were the middle of green-leaf instead of being cold and snowy outside. New-leaf should be coming soon, and green-leaf not far after that. The warmer moons were coming, and then he would feel more content with his shorter pelt again. It was tight in the nest, yes...but Thunderpaw didn't mind, not really. He was happy to be beside Tawnypaw although, had it been anyone else, he might not have been as willing to share with them. The tom sighed, curling up a little tighter as Tawnypaw moved around against him. This was something that he hadn't been able to do in a very long time- not only was he spending time with his best friend, he was sharing a nest with her just like they had when they were younger. True, it wasn't quite like that...now he didn't feel exactly the same, and he could feel nerves tingling all the way up his spine, his heart beating against his chest almost like a trapped bird. "W-what?" He stammered slightly, lifting his head so he could hear her better. It occured to him what she had said a moment later, and he shook his head a little as though trying to clear it- before realizing that probably looked like he had said no. "No. I mean, yes! Yes, I'm comfortable...and no, it's fine, don't worry about it." Thunderpaw mewed, quickly correcting his mistake. That could have gone downhill quickly had he not had the sense to make it better as soon as he could. He shook his head slightly again, almost as though he were laughing at himself and then sighed. He was so, so happy to get to be with Tawnypaw right now. After everything that had happened, all the change, both good and bad...sometimes it was nice to just settle down with a friend and rest. He could feel himself drifting off to sleep, his pelt still pressed against Tawnypaw's...and he began to purr. This was the best he had felt in a long, long time, and he never wanted it to end.

Tawnypaw shook with silent laughter as the tom scrambled to correct himself multiple times. "Alright," she mewed, "Just wanted to make sure you were comfortable." Her sentence ended with a yawn, her mouth opening widely as she inhaled deeply, the yawn ending in a sigh.
"This is nice," she murmured, smiling drowsily at Thunderpaw, "I'm really glad that we can do this again." Dispite being accompanied by odd, new feelings this time, this was like old times, old times that were the best tines of Tawnypaw's life so far. She never really hung out with anyone before except Thunderpaw, and before Thunderpaw, she had no one. She used to be mean to everyone, but Thunderpaw showed her a better way to act; not bitter towards every cat she came across. The tom truly changed her attitude towards everything for the best, and she coule never be more grateful to her best friend for that. She felt herself drifting off, the happy thoughts of her only friend wafting around in her mind. And she fell asleep with those thoughts of the grey tom, a smile on her face as she closed her heavy eyelids and allowed herself to fall into the abyss of sleep.

The grey tom glanced over at her, his blue hues narrowing in mock anger for a moment before he relaxed and began to laugh out loud. "Yeah. Always looking out for me, aren't you?" He asked, stopping with a slight purr. He yawned after her, blue hues closing completely for a moment before he curled up more tightly. Ever since he was a kit, Thunderpaw used to curl up in a small ball...it made him feel more safe, more secure.
And even now, at the age of 11 moons, he curled up in a ball. He could still feel Tawnypaw's soft, thick pelt against his own shorter one. "Yeah. Feels just like when we were younger. Good times," He mewed sleepily, yawning once more before curling his tail around himself. The tip of it lay on his muzzle- which made him feel like he was going to sneeze, and yet he never did. He felt Tawnypaw fall asleep beside him, but before he could follow her into the unconcious realm of sleep, his thoughts turned to her, each side of his brain battling.
She's pretty, isn't she? Nope. Really. Then why are you still looking at her? Cause I can.
She's your best friend. She'll understand if you tell her. Tell her what?
That you-
Before his thoughts could finish, Thunderpaw quickly closed his hues tighter and let sleep take over his own tired body as well. He was exhausted. And this was no time for him to be thinking of things like that. I'll figure it out later, was his last thought before sleep overtook him completely.

Tawnypaw slowly awakened, beginning to stretch. Her stretch was cut off as she suddenly felt another presence very, very close to her. She started, yelping as she tumbled out of the nest, befire shooting to her paws. It was when she laid eyes on the source of the hest she felt waking up, she immediately remembered the night before.
"Sorry Thunderpaw!" She instinctively blurted, figuring she woke him up when she fell out, "You startled me. I forgot we were sleeping in the same nest."

The grey tom gave a mew of surprise, followed by a nervous half-yelp as he felt something pressing against him and then promptly falling out of the other side of the nest. Unlike his more fiery friend, he lay there for a moment, too stunned to move. Memories flashed back in his head until they came to one of the previous night, where Thunderpaw breathed a sigh of relief. It was just Tawnypaw. No one scary-- though that might be a matter of opinion. "Oh, uh, um... right, yeah!" He mewed, feeling slightly embarrassed that he had become so nervous over that one little thing. Little being the key word that was making him embarrassed, as his tail twitched back and forth in slight anxiety. He was a little nervous for the moment being, which was making him antsy...though he wasn't quite sure why this was making him quite so nervous.
(no worries! XD mine was short too haha)

Tawnypaw laughed, smiling at the grey apprentice. "Well," she said, "Good morning!" She looked around the den to see if she could see a sleeping cat or two in one of the nests around, but was astounded to see that the two seemed to have slept past the other apprentices. "Wow, we slept in a little late, it looks like," she mewed, "And we went to sleep befire everyone else too. We should be well rested today!" She laughed again, realizing that she did, in fact, feel better rested than usual; more full of energy. "Well, want to go get breakfast?" She asked, "I'm starving!" She wanted to hang out with the tom more, and didn't want to seperate just yet. They'd only reunited after quite awhile just yesterday, after all. She felt different around Thunderpaw than other toms, and she felt like it may not be just because he was practically her only friend. These feelings were unfamiliar to her, and she couldn't quite put her paw on what they were, but she hoped she figured it out soon.

The grey tom lowered his head, looking slightly embarrassed as he did so. He was pretty embarrassed, if he were being honest; after all, he had just made a fool of himself in front of the pretty she cat. And she was his best friend. Which made it about, oh...ten times worse. He had never embarrassed himself like that in front of Tigerpaw, which made him feel a little better, but the memory of the Toyger also brought back a painful sting of regret. The slightest bit of anger pricked at his pelt, but he instantly felt bad. He shouldn't be angry. He shouldn't be frustrated with a cat just for doing good, and if there was any cat that he really hated, it was Otterpaw. That cat had deliberately stolen the spotlight from him, and they both knew it. "Sorry. Guess I'm a little on edge," He laughed with an uneasy expression. He was on edge, though it wasn't any fault of Tawnypaw's. He was just angry with himself, and Tigerpaw...and Otterpaw... before his thoughts turned back to his best friend. She had changed so much from the moody apprentice he had met so long ago, and he was glad of it. He wasn't sure that he would be able her temper for too long, though because she had changed, he was a better cat because of that. "Yep. That'll give me plenty of energy when my mentor starts torturing me through training. Good luck with yours," Thunderpaw mewed, an amused expression on his features as he spoke. He could feel a slight trembling beneath his pelt, like an electrical shock but much more pleasant. It was a comfortable feeling, and something that Thunderpaw truly loved and hated at the same time. "Yeah, sure! I could go for something to eat right now," He purred with a smile at his friend.

He wasn't really that hungry-- he just didn't want to let Tawnypaw out of his sight quite yet.

Tawnypaw's smile stayed on her face, and even widened a bit.
"Hey, it's okay! We're all on edge sometimes," she replied, playfully flicking the tom with her tail, before nodding. "Yeah, I'll definitely need the energy for training. Anyways, let's go!" She started taking slow, leisurely steps towards the Apprentice Den's exit, before stopping and looking at Thunderpaw again.
"Oh yeah!" She exclaimed, "Want to share breakfast? Maybe we can find something big enough to fill us both up!"
She awaited an answer as she looked at the other apprentice, and unintentionally found herself staring and studying the tom.
He's actually really handsome.... Her own eyes widened at the small voice that emerged in her head.
I mean, yeah, he is, but why does that matter? She asked the voice, but got no answer. She mentally shook her head. Now I'm talking to myself... Wow, Tawnypaw.
She almost sighed and rolled her eyes at herself before realizing she might look crazy or rude, and tried to convince herself that she was only still looking at the tom because she was waiting for an answer to a question. Granted, only a few moments had passed, but after a mental conversation with herself it felt longer than that.

Summerpaw was exhausted. How long had it been-- two moons? Three moons? When had Russetstar become leader, again? Whenever that was, that was the night that she got a good night's sleep. But she still had her little nagging voice constantly with her, constantly pushing and prodding at her, telling her that she was...in some words...worthless. And she felt like it, too. Fighting had been exhausting, and she had already made up her mind that she wouldn't go through something like that again. First sign of trouble, she was leaving the Clan-- she would be gone-- she would be free. Free in the sense that she wouldn't have to answer to anyone. Would she? No-- loners had no one to answer to. But no one to protect them. No one to talk to at night. No one to talk to during the day. Who do they flirt with? Summerpaw thought, her mind beginning to race in such a way that was almost impossible to deal with. She curled her tail around her and got ready to sleep... because she was exhausted. Completely and absolutely exhausted. She could feel her body beginning to sink into the familiar pattern of sleep...

(Howdy, friend!! I think I'm just gonna reply to thissss)

Approaching the apprentice den was two cats. One was slightly older...way older, while the other one was young. He was like spring, while the older one was rain. Heavy rain. Somewhat of a thunderstorm, but not completely. The youngest one, an orange tabby happily trotted with his eyes closed. The older one, a more dark brown watched with amusement in his eyes as the younger one minded himself.

Until he almost slip, and his eyes instantly opened fully. Tornadopaw looked behind him, flattening his ears, and Armyfang couldn't suppress a laugh at the clumsy apprentice.

''Hey! Shut up, it's not even that funny.'' Tornadopaw snapped, dismayed.

''You're right, I'm sorry,'' Armyfang apologized, before a quick smirk was placed on his face. ''It was a hilarious. You tickle me most times.''

''Well, I'm glad you find me entertaining.'' Tornadopaw replied sarcastically. He got up and shook the debris from his fur before giving Armyfang a dirty look. ''Don't you have some patrols to run?''

''I'm off duty. Besides, you should be happy that I helped you brush up on your battle moves.''

''Yeah...'' Tornadopaw trailed off, thinking of his mentor, Lilyshade. She had collapsed, and he worried for her. He didn't want to think of this, and shook his head from the depressing thoughts. He already lost most of everyone he loved...and now this? Armyfang could sense his younger friend's discomfort, and gently brushed his tail tip alongside him to let him know that everything would be okay. But, would it? Honestly?

Tornadopaw brushed the other tom's tail away and he padded into the apprentice's den, leaving a solemn Armyfang behind. He didn't want to affect the mood, but it seemed as if he already had. When he entered into the den, he could vividly make out a body of an apprentice--his age? older?--yet that did not bother him. The way her body slowly went up and down interested him, and he went up closer to get a better look. He slowly sat down on his haunches, staring at her with his brown eyes as she was sleeping. She looked peaceful. She looked like she reached that level of serenity that no one else could reach. She was serenity, to him. Her pelt was gorgeous. He felt like he was in love just first looking at her. This made the young orange tabby gulped. And, he knew it was creepy that he watched her sleep, but he couldn't look away. It was as if Starclan led him here for this special moment.

Across from her, he gently laid down on his stomach, his paws outstretched in front of him, and his head tilted. His eyes steady on her. Never looking away. All memories and worries--washed away, as if they never happened in the first place.

Get out of the way! Now! Go! Summerpaw awoke with a start, flinching as she did so. The memory haunted her forever-- the battle. The memory from the battle. What had happened to that cat, anyways? She had been pinned down...Summerpaw shuddered, wondering if the cat had been killed. She hoped not. That same cat had saved her life, and she wouldn't want to seem ungrateful by never getting to thank them. Thank you. She thought, wondering if StarClan could hear her thoughts-- if the cat were in StarClan. Summerpaw stretched out, beginning to get up-- and saw a cat staring at her. For a moment she was startled-- had this cat been watching her sleep?-- and then slowly, the expression faded.

"Hello..." She mewed uncertainly for a moment, cocking her head to the side as she examined him. Why had he been watching her? She knew, of course, because her Mother-- not to mention mentor-- had told her to stay away from hostile cats, but the type that would just watch her? She doubted that he was hostile. He looked pretty harmless, anyways. "What's a handsome tom like you doing in here watching a she cat like me?" She asked. Now Summerpaw was aware that she was attractive. In her younger apprentice moons, she hadn't been, until she had been approached multiple times. And she knew how to use this attractiveness to her advantage. Although she wasn't RiverClan born, sometimes she thought she was more RiverClan then the rest of these cats put together.

And she knew her best friend, Brackenpaw, wasn't RiverClan born either. She missed Brackenpaw... it had been ages since she had seen him last. The only tom not to fall for her. And then there was Sealpaw, and Rainpaw-- what had happened to them? She hadn't seen Sealpaw in a long time either, or Rainpaw. She knew, of course, that she liked Rainpaw...she might even love him, she was still figuring it out. But she was hoping that nothing bad would happen to him because after all, if it did... things could quickly go from bad to worse. Her light green hues were almost eerie as they stared at him, almost looking right through him...it wasn't her goal, but it was enough to make her look stranger then a normal apprentice. Her warrior ceremony was coming up soon, she hoped...and she was excited for it. Brackenpaw would be a warrior too, and then maybe-- just maybe-- they would be able to spend more time together. She would just have to shake her admirers, and she would be able to hang with Rainpaw more too....and help Sealpaw...there was so much that Summerpaw wanted to do, and yet she had no idea where any of these cats were. She glanced back at the tom, a look flashing through her eyes.

"Can I...help you?"

The orange tabby was taken aback that she woke up. And, he started pushing himself back, until he bumped into the wall of the den. It was a rough push, that made him muttered, ‘’Ow.’’ under his breath. He was alerted, and he feared that the she-cat thought weirdly of him for staring at her sleeping.

At her next words, his body tensed and he sensed a warm feeling around his ears. He dipped his head to not look into her eyes as he padded up to her. His eyes looked every which way except for at her. He could stare at her without her looking at him--noticing he was there. Other than that, he was terrified. Not of she-cats entirely, but the prettier ones. The ones who think they can get whoever they want because they had beautiful fur;beautiful eyes; beautiful voice; everything of the sort. They were the kind that set him into a boiling heap, but yet he found himself liking them often.

He didn’t know what to classify her as if yet.

‘’I-I-I wasn’t being creepy!’’ He quickly said, his eyes darting to every corner of the den except for her. ‘’You were j-j-just s-sleeping, and I d-didn’t want to awake you!’’ He added later. He cleared his throat, knowing that he sounded stupid, but he couldn’t help but felt that way. Most she-cats he was shy around. He talked to them, thinking of them as a friend, but whenever he liked one. He kept his distance, knowing he would embarrass himself.

Tornadowpaw shook his head, twitching his ears at the sweet sound of her voice. ''I don't need any help, but you, um,'' He paused for a few seconds, choosing his words carefully.‘’Although, it does seem like you had a bad dream.’’ He muttered softly. ‘’Are you alright?’’

The female's eyes widened at his muttered remark of pain, and she sat up straight in her nest before moving over towards him. "I didn't mean to startle you-- I'm sorry-- are you alright?" She asked. Now, although Summerpaw might be a flirt, safety should always be first in her mind-- she would love to have made several smooth remarks at this moment, but she knew that if the tom wasn't okay she needed to get him some help. However-- from the way he was staring at her-- she guessed that he was alright. Summerpaw was used to toms looking at her in that manner, since she had grown up as a beautiful young apprentice...but every time, it gave her the slightest feeling of discomfort. Why did a tom feel like they needed to stare at a she cat as though they were the most beautiful things on the planet? Couldn't they ever see that what they were doing actually unnerved a she cat instead of building their confidence, the way that it should? Summerpaw's hues narrowed as she moved around the tom, her tail swishing back and forth the way it always did, and she absentmindedly brushed it against him. Normally she timed every movement carefully, but right now she was just sort of... moving around. Summerpaw was the opposite of a clumsy cat, something else that she was much too aware of, and she loved being like that. She loved the looks that she would get, both jealous and admiring.

Though jealousy was an ugly thing, Summerpaw didn't mind it at all, oh no. She lived for the admiration of the toms, the annoying screeches of the jealous she cats, and the murmurs of the older cats who were out of her league. She didn't like every cat that ventured out of her league; it made her uncomfortable to think that there were such cats. "Shh, don't worry about it. I don't care; it's the apprentices' den, of course there are going to be cats coming in and out." She mewed briskly, her hues snapping for a moment in amusement. Part of her felt bad when the younger toms seemed to instantly fall for her... it made her feel like she was nothing more then a trophy to them, a cat that they could show off to their younger companions. Older cats were much more mature, but they didn't take her seriously. Now the ones in her age range... 9-13 moons... those were the perfect ages, in Summerpaw's opinion. They weren't too immature, and they weren't too old for her.

"Now then, what's your name, handsome? I'm Summerpaw." The pretty female smiled, although her smile died on her maw at his next words. For a moment, she looked as though she weren't going to respond. She really didn't have to-- to this apprentice? No, he had no business asking her that. But it would be rude, and quite likely drive away a devoted admirer...something that Summerpaw desperately didn't want to do. She wanted to keep this tom with her, be friends with him, so that when the time came she could ditch him. And go to Rainpaw. Rainpaw would understand. Brackenpaw-- she remembered doing the same thing with Brackenpaw, and having to stop because he didn't understand. Though from this cat's flustered expression, she guessed that he had understood. Too well, and now she was going to have to go into it a little quicker then she normally did. This would be a very quick round of her lifelong flirtatious game, and then she would dart back to Rainpaw like she always did. He hadn't seemed well recently; was he doing okay? She hoped so, she couldn't stand it if she lost him. She wanted to be with the tom, though she knew she would have to be careful...things could get awkward quickly if she tried to move too fast. "Oh yes, I'm fine. Reliving some old memories, that's all." She answered after another moment of thought. That was neither too informative nor too little information. In her opinion, it had been just right.

Tornadopaw didn’t say anything for a while. He didn’t know what to say. Yet he didn’t want to seem rude. He was already uncomfortable with her presence lingering around him. He wasn’t used to discussing things with she-cats. He normally only got along with Lilyshade, his mentor. However, he was always constantly staring at the different she-cats, and sighing to himself because he didn’t know how to approach them without being weird.

Yet, this one seemed to talk to him--and thought he was handsome! If he were alone, his breathing would hitch and he would be wheezing, but he didn’t want to look like a fool. When she brushed past him, her fur soft. His felt tense, and more uncomfortable. Armyfang, his much older friend, always warned him about those types of females.

‘’Better stay away from those troublemaking females, Tornadopaw.’’ Armyfang had said when they went out on patrol a late night. ‘’All they do is cause havoc, and you’ll end up with a broken heart.’’

Tornadopaw had stared down at his paws, shifting uncomfortably, ‘’I don’t think I’ll ever find a she-cat that’ll like me. I mean...I’m mean if that’s bad enough-’’

‘’That’s mouse-brained!’’ Armyfang laughed. ‘’You’re a good-looking tom, and any female will appreciate that. It’s okay to have a crush on one from a distance, but don’t go on talking to them now. Your training comes first.’’

Tornadopaw knew this vividly. His training always came first. He was doing well, at least that’s what Lilyshade had said.

Tornadopaw took a quick glance at the she-cat in front of him. She was pretty, he’ll admit that, but Armyfang’s words pierced through his soul, and he knew that he had to stop acting as if he were a small kit. He would be a warrior in a couple moons. He couldn’t act as if he were scared all the time.

‘’O-o-hh. I’m Tornadopaw.’’ He mewed, quietly. Again, he stared at his paws, and he perked his ears at what...what was her name? Panic started to rise within him as he already forgotten her name! Then again, he never truly remembered anything. He was slight aloof to his whereabouts and surrounds. Yet, this was the first she-cat that talked to him! And, he forgot her name! He wanted to run with joy and tell Armyfang that he found his future mate.

But that seemed a bit dramatic. Instead, he didn’t reply. If he didn’t remember her name, he wouldn’t be rude. ‘’Reliving old memories sounds harsh,’’ he gave a light chuckle, hoping to change the direction of the conversation. He quickly flickered his brown eyes to stare into hers. He wondered whatever she could be hiding, and he was quite the nosy camper.

‘’I was just making sure you were alright though.’’ Tornadopaw gulped, inside he called himself stupid. He never truly made any friends. He always went on exploring by himself, or he was busy hanging around Armyfang. It was kinda nice to be in the company of another his age. Although she made him uncomfortable. He would suffice. ‘’...I’m sorry,’’ he gave a nervous laugh. ‘’I forgot your name.’’ He smiled sheepishly. ‘’And, I know! It’s extremely impolite, and I’m sorry...I just have a terrible memory.’’ He says as he looks into the distance. ‘’I fell off a large rock when I was a kit...probably messed up a few brain cells in there.’’ It was a lightweighted joke, and he only hoped that the female wasn’t mad at him. He needed a new friend, indeed.

"Well it's lovely to meet you, Tornadopaw. How long have you been an apprentice?" She asked, cocking her head to the side. Unless his apprenticeship had been late, she would be able to figure out how old he was by that alone. Most of her friends were quite a bit older-- they would all be warriors soon, and she was nearly 12 moons old. Now that Bucknight was no longer leader-- she had begged her mentor to not say anything about it, not wanting to become a warrior by Bucknight's word-- but now that everything was getting back to normal, perhaps things would slowly return better as well.

The patterned female moved away from him, sitting down a few tail-lengths away. She didn't want to make him uncomfortable, as she was sure she had been doing by the expression on his features. Summerpaw cocked her head to the side, light green hues narrowing slightly as though trying to figure out what he wanted. Did he want to talk to her? Or was he, like so many others, admiring her patterned pelt, light green hues, and confident, graceful stance? She wouldn't blame him. No, as a matter of fact, she had chosen to embrace that as who she was long ago.

And this was one of the perfect things. But then there had been Rainpaw...and Brackenpaw...Rainpaw she was sure about, Brackenpaw she was not. Rainpaw was the one cat that she liked, who seemed to like her for her. And then Brackenpaw was her best friend...her very best friend. So then who was she supposed to choose? She wouldn't. Rainpaw was there for her. Rainpaw was who she would choose. The tip of the feline's tail twitched back and forth, an amused expression on her features and gleaming in her hues. She glanced at the tom as though wondering what he was thinking.

"You get used to it. It's not that bad," She shrugged, and then a more mischievous expression came over her features. "But you can't change the subject that easily." She laughed, flicking him lightly with her fluffy, willowy tail. It was more like getting brushed by another cat's pelt then a real flick, though Summerpaw didn't really think much of it. She just didn't care too much. She listened to the tom half-babbling, and nodded slowly, cocking her head to the side as he continued. Her hues were still fixed on him. Watching him. Keeping an eye on him. "It's fine, don't worry about it. Some cats do. It's nothing to be ashamed of-- you've got your looks going for you. My name was Summerpaw." She smiled, pearl white fangs flashing in a perfect smile. Summerpaw seemed to have her life together-- and perfect everything.

Raine

Near the back of the den, in a nest that the tom could only really find by following his own scent. He sat in this nest now, paw held up and tongue being gently run along the top and side of the dark brown leg.
His eyes were focused on his paw as he settled himself to cleaning the short furs that protruded from his skin, and in this position — sat rather stiffly with his long, thin tail wrapped securely around the foreleg that he was not attentively washing — Fourpaw had remained for several minutes beforehand.

How lazy and like a kittypet was he who sat and washed his foreleg, arranging the furs to be well kept, and how rogue-like he who attends to his fur not at all. The dark tom had been hoping that he had not gone too far in maintaining his cleanliness.

Moonpaw shifted, groaning in her nest as she flipped over. Her dreams guarded by a red light. Ever night it was like this. She walked, and a red light, the color of fresh blood clouded her vision. But it was different to night. She walked through the forest, jumping around. But soon her paws became wet, looking down,

The small river moved gently, lapping at the stones and sticks in it's path. It was somewhat calming. The way the water seemed to struggle, and then succeeded in doing what it wanted. Snowpaw blinked awake. Once again, he had no recognition of last night's dreams, and no memory of the events that went on within them. He could have perished fifteen times over within his thoughts, however, nothing but a blank screen would be withheld as he attempted to think about them. Snowpaw have a few owlish winks, trying to wake himself up past the blurry overlay. Currently, everything stood as buzzing, colorful shapes. After a few moments, the lines hardened, and intensified. Glancing around, he couldn't quite make out many of the chatting figures. While he could acknowledge a few, there was nobody he'd really feel comfortable going up to. He felt vaguely lonely, as he churned the harsh ground with his duller-alabaster claws. Even if he had just talked to another the day before, and he'd just waken up from his slumber.

"Alright then" Almondpaw shrugged, the reason made sense to him. Exiting the den and heading into the Clearing, he bounded out into the territory and waited for Stormpaw at the entrance of camp.

A gray and white molly opened her emerald green eyes as light traveled through the apprentice den. Silentpaw had been in the den for a while now, only coming out at times to train or to get food. She gave a hollow and broken sigh, flicking her ears at the quiet hum the camp usually possessed. There were peaceful chatters of cats socializing right outside the den. But Silentpaw was in no desire to socialize at the moment, but she would not mind someone to listen to. The young Nebelung cat was mute, meaning that she could not speak, it was why she had limited friends, because she could not talk. Oh, she longed to be able to speak! Silentpaw was born prematurely, so her vocal areas were not developed properly, so she could not speak. And when she tried, it would hurt.
The gray apprentice rested her head on her front paws, flexing her phalanges slightly and twisting her ears towards the exit of the quiet den. //Open//

Aspenkit opened her eyes from her state of aloneness. Her paws clenched at the grass as she heard a sigh coming from inside the den beside her, which happened to be where the apprentices slept, where she would be in three moons. Aspenkit rose on her four paws and inched to to entrance of the den, even though she was not old enough to sleep in the den, she could still look inside; right? She was not an exploring type of kit, she preferred more quiet environments, and it seemed almost quiet in the den. She couldn't help but feel the need to peer inside, just to see the interior of the den. One look wouldn't hurt.

Nimbly as she could, Aspenkit first poked her nose through the entrance, then her whole face to absorb the look of the dimmish den. Her eyes scanned the walls and the floor, taking in the bits and details of the queit resting place. She shuffled through; trying not to make a sound as she stepped though the walls. No one would mind if she took a stroll around the inside. Aspenkit placed one paw infront of the other until her full brown, white and tan body was in the cool den. She couldn't help but think: this place was much better than the nursery .

Silentpaw sat up on her haunches, tilting her head at the she-kit. She stretched her neck to the side, looking outside of the apprentice den, it did not seem like any cat was looking for the young kit.
'Is she lost?' the mute apprentice thought to herself.
The gray pelted molly looked at the tan-furred kit with a questioning gaze, flicking her ear silently.

Aspenkit studied the plants on the outside of the wall when she saw something shifting behind her. A Gray and white cat had sat up, the cats green eyes looking at her. Aspenkit's tail prickled, her fur standing with a rising heartbeat. Aspenkit didn't see the cat before, so she was startled to find the apprentice suddenly there. She swallowed, forcing the mottled brown and white fur on her tail to go down. Her gaze was focused on the floor, before she looked right into the eyes of the apprentice, Aspenkit tilted her head, mirroring the older cat.

"H-hello." She mewed, her voice sounding more timid then usual. Would this cat be mad at her for walking through the den unwelcomed? A pang surged through her chest, like the times before when an older cat would stare at her like she was in trouble. Except, she didn't want to get in trouble. The young kit took a deep breath before shifting her gaze away momentarily "I'm Aspenkit."

The apprentice gave the kit an understanding nod and pointed to the exit of the apprentice den.
Silentpaw was not one to tell on a kitten for entering a den. She was, after all, just a kit.
'You should probably leave before someone catches you,' the apprentice thought silently, nodding her head towards the exit.

Aspenkit furrowed her brow in confusion, her jolt of surprise long gone. Why was the apprentice nodding at the exit? Was that her way of telling her to leave her alone? Aspenkit tilted her head to the other side, observing her older clanmate. Wouldn't it be easier just to tell her to get out? Well, not nessasarily easier, but just a lot more clear. She lowered her head, "d-do you want me to Leave the den?." Aspenkit tried to keep her voice level and clear, although she couldn't hide the note of hurt in her words. She blinked and focused her viridian eyes on the other cat, keeping her expression understanding.

'I hate being mute,' she thought to herself again.
The gray apprentice shrugged, unknowing of how to tell the kit.
'I guess its up to you if you want to leave, I don't care,' she thought again silently, keeping her shrug.

Whatever the matter, Aspenkit turned towards the exit and began to slowly start walking to leave. But it still confused her, didn't the apprentice want to speak? Aspenkit glanced at the she-cat, or could she simply not?

She stopped and fully turned to the cat, she was at first scared to Mention it, but she was just wondering, after all "are you not able to talk?" She asked aloud, her voice extremely quiet. Maybe this cat was nodding to tell her something else, and if the cat was telling her to get out but didn't want to use words, well, that seemed ridiculous: if it were her, she would've just spoken. So it made complete sense if this cat couldn't talk, after all.

The gray pelted apprentice looked around the den, looking for something that would hint at the apprentice's name. When she could not find anything that would suit the word 'silent,' the feline sat down on her haunches and raised her paw to her ear, then lowered it down, trying to indicate that there was no sound going on at the moment, meaning that it was silent.

She wondered aloud, her voice fading when she realized it would be something without sound "Quietpaw?" She asked. She felt bad, guessing all these names could possibly make The apprentice feel bad, it had happened before with the other kits she had played with. The smoky gray apprentice gave another hollow chuckle and started thinking about different warrior names for herself, her green eyes becoming slowly lost in thought.
'Silentcloud sounds nice, or Silenttide, or..' she trailed off into her mind, thinking of random and curious thoughts that she usually would in this state. She purred," Hopefully...he already got clawed on the face by a Shadowclan apprentice mad at him for shoving their friend in the water."

Snowpaw blinked awake. Once again, he had no recognition of last night's dreams, and no memory of the events that went on within them. He could have perished fifteen times over within his thoughts, however, nothing but a blank screen would be withheld as he attempted to think about them. Snowpaw gave a few owlish winks, attempting to wake himself up past the blurry overlay.

Frostpaw slowly opened her eyes, yawning before standing and stretching, shaking out her tabby fur and sitting down in her nest, going about slowly grooming herself as her ears swiveled to and fro, listening to the chattering apprentices around her.

As she drew her tongue across a white paw and ran it down her face, her green eyes narrowed, though they didn't fully close, as though the ShadowClan apprentice didn't quite trust her denmates well enough to do so. Indeed, her tail was slightly fluffed and her neck fur vaguely bristled in spite of her otherwise calm appearance; she may sleep among these fish-eaters, but it was apparent she didn't trust them more than a whisker if even that much, and it would take little to cause her claws to unsheathe.

Honeypaw glanced at her brother sighing,” I miss Applepaw. She was kind and polite, she delt with insults, it must have been hard for her to be surrounded by former clanmates and new clanmates, you know what I mean? I hope she’s alright as most cats didn’t know that she was born here until now, I hope Goldenstar doesn’t exile her purely for the Riverclan heritage.” She gave a flick of her golden-brown tail

Lobsterpaw flicked his rose colored tail and snorted,” She chose to leave, if she wanted to return she would have. Besides, all the Shadowclanners were scared we’d murder them. She coulda stayed in the flood instead though. Why in the name of Starclan would Goldenstar exile her for being born in Riverclan? A few of our disloyal clanmates left to join Shadowclan and Goldenstar accepted them!”

Honeypaw paused,” Well...I mean, she knew almost everyone and they knew her. I don’t know, maybe seeing her being too friendly with Riveclanners? And that was there choice, not disloyalty.”

Lobsterpaw shrugged,” Whatever. You still think I’m basically a gossip girl, I’m a tom sheesh.” He stood up and left.

Hanging out in the apprentices' den was not a normal occurance for Lunarpaw. He was found in the territory, by the borders... but areas where he was more likely to be seen, he was rarely found. The tom had recently been having a worse time of things since he hadn't seen Briarpaw in a while. Reluctantly, he had to admit that he really liked the little furball of energy. She was different then most cats he met. Lunarpaw liked the sarcastic, logical type of cat most of the time - but Briarpaw had grown on him very quickly. He'd struck up a semi-friendship with Juniperpaw, but it wasn't the same thing. The medicine cat was busy, after all... Lunarpaw wasn't anywhere as busy as she was. Please tell me no one's coming in here. He thought, hearing voices from outside the clearing and turning the darker part of his face to the shadows, where it would blend in. Just one blue eye and light colored fur stood out as he sat to the side, making sure that the horrible part of his face would not be brought to the light. He didn't need to make any more enemies. Lunarpaw had enough of those already, thank you! With his personality and appearance, it was surprising he had any friends. And as for his family... well... he had no idea where or who they were. The tom's tail twitched back and forth, making soft swishing noises against the ground as he thought. He was thinking about Briarpaw, about his training (which would be ending soon) and about his family. That'd been a thought that popped into his head a lot these days. Lunarpaw could remember very little, if anything about his family... and sometimes, he wondered if they remembered him. If they missed him. He remembered different faces, one that looked like his, and others that looked like one side or another of his face, and voices... but what they sounded like, he wasn't sure. He couldn't make out tones, just... noises coming from what he assumed were those cats.

His mind was swirling with fear, trapped in his own dream as his limbs flailed helplessly, scattering bits of reed and moss around his nest - it was like he couldn't escape his own dream. Claws unsheathed as the apprentice struggled harder. Faster. Mewls turned into loud whimpers escaped his mouth as a burst of energy overtook Frostpaws limbs, quickly followed by a sudden silence. The scrap of fur looked dead as he lay motionless in the nest, a stark contrast to just a few seconds ago. Wake up... Wake up... A loud gasp brought Frostpaw to life as he jolted awake and up in his nest, his body trembling like a leaf in the wind. Heaving his chest, he let out a shaky breath, bringing a trembling paw to lay over his muzzle. Closing his eyes once more as he panted wildly to catch his breath, the silver tabby rocked back and forth on his paws in his crouched posture. Another nightmare. The monster got closer this time. Slowly, Frost opened his eyes staring idly at the entrance of the den as light streamed in. Is it sun-high already? Long nights filled with restless dreams showed on his everywhere. His usually bright blue eyes dead with no emotion and a tiredness lingering in each paw-step he took. With a soft sigh, he seemed to finally compose himself as he got up on his paws, the warm tang of blood filling his nostrils. What? Turning his head to inspect his body, a long thin scratch had formed itself on the edge of his tail. Frostpaw silently got to work, his vision blurring as he sat down quickly and pulled it towards him, licking the wound viciously until the bleeding slowed and coagulated. With an extreme amount of effort, he pulled himself back to his paws and made his way into the clearing. Blinking against the harsh light of day, the weary apprentice gave his pelt a good shake and gingerly made his way towards the center of camp.

Silverkit knew she'd be in trouble if she got caught.
Then I'll just make sure not to get caught! she declared to herself.
As the moon rose up high in the clouds and lit her way to the apprentices den, she picked up the large ball of moss and sneaked in to the apprentices den.
As she crumbled the moss, she looked around expecting to see Rainpaws familiar pelt- but she couldn't find him. That's too bad, I wanted to put moss in his pelt when he was asleep... she sighed to herself.
She tried to leave as silently again, as silently as possible.
The dirt-place was empty, and he wasn't in the clearing. she recalled.
So, then where can he be?

Silverpaw noticed a saddened tom cat her Siberian tabby cross breaded fur stood on end being short haired, her light grayish white ear stood up her tail turned to her left side the tip flicked her brightened blue eyes looked in the toms eyes. Shadepaw didn't want to seem nosey so she forced herself to playfully and limberly jump and pound nose diving into a pile of autumn leaves she let out a mew and soft giggle. Her body was white her tail muzzle and legs had a darkish brown blended stripes her muzzle and tail being darker in brown. The end of her body had very very light grey brown spots like a leopards.

The young tom managed to blend well with the darkness, his cinder colored fur a suitable camouflage as Cypresspaw picked his way easily towards the exit, dimly lit by the moonlight sneaking into the den, having no regard for the apprentices sleeping inside. Cypresspaw lacked regard for them as well, however it was best he didn't step on any tails in his effort to leave quietly. If someone did wake, he had a sound excuse, however that would mean his plans were foiled, so nonetheless he would be upset with himself and whoever the culprit should turn out to be.

Cypresspaw stopped just short of leaving, hanging his head for a moment to sigh to himself, prior to him turning partly to face the she-cat, tilting his head and attempting to appear apologetic. "Sorry if I woke you, but are you sure you want to follow me when all I'm doing is making dirt?" Of course, the excuse was a little distasteful, but nonetheless usually effective.

Moonlight filtered in through the cracks and openings in the roof of the den. Little particles floating in the spotlights that the moon has graciously provided, allowing the miniature fluff balls to perform their ballet to the watchfull eye. In this case, forest green hues watched, fixated by the silent show. The pair of optics belonged to Mushroompaw, who had gently nestled herself into her nest long before the sun had given the sky up to the moon for the night. She was unable to sleep, confusion muddled her thoughts and caused her oh so sweet dreams to dissapearance as quickly as the fabricated. She had many questions, and some puzzle pieces she couldn’t quite fit into the bigger picture, something she’d speak to Palestream about in the morning, silently hoping she’d receive answers rather than more questions.

Grovepaw sighed as he entered the den ,his eyes felt dry and he felt drained and heavy ,From the fright that his sister gave him about telling his brother what he did. Even she herself had no mentor ! They did get into a teensy little fight about why he didn't want her to tell ghostpaw. And she did technically start it and then ran off ,but thankfully he managed to catch up to her before she left camp. Everything was fine afterwards but he did give her what seemed to him to be a small fright ,by pretending that he was gonna let the whole clan know that she was gonna leave the camp when she had no mentor either. It at least gave him a good laugh.

The tom grunted as he found his mossbed and plopped down on it now resting his chin on his paws. His eyes almost closed when his stomach growled making him growl in return out of frustration , apparently the half fish wasn't enough, but he made sure he wasn't gonna eat anything else until he catches something for the clan. Was it extreme ? Probably but for some reason he went for it. He wrapped his tail around himself with the tip of it resting on his nose ,he did keep his eyes open for a while just looking into the semi darkness of the den. everything will be alright ...well it should be.

Ghostpaw walked into the apprentice den, looking proud of himself. He had managed to catch more fish than usual because his dad had given him some tips on catching them, and it had helped tremendously. He wasn't a very good hunter and that had been obvious the first time his mentor had taken him to fish.Maybe he could surprise her next time they went huntingAnother reason he was so happy was because he had learned new fighting moves from his mentor and mastered them pretty quickly.

Sycamorepaw smiled, "Yeah. It's almost new leaf and then the prey will really be out to hunt for." He replied. The apprentice gave his pelt a quick wash. "When are you going to be a warrior?", he asked.
(whep Oakpaw became a warrior a few days ago lol)

Oakflame smiled. "I became a warrior a little while ago actually." He said, a purr rumbled in his chest.

Shivering as he woke to a cold draft, Fawnpaw tried to ignore the seeping of leaf-bare into his nest, filtering through his fur and bringing him to tremble for warmth. The winter had devastated the Clans and their territories, effectively making life harder, but this was a small side effect of the larger scale problems: his sleeping area was freezing, making it harder to get a restful night's sleep.

Fawnpaw stirred in his nest and realized he was colder than he initially thought when he shuffled away to survey the den wall, immediately met with less rigid air despite the temperatures dipping near zero. Near his nest, he could see the side of the den was mangled and worn by snow, the side caving in and leaving its inhabitants exposed to the elements. There wasn't a chance he could continue to sleep there peacefully, so he supposed it was going to be a long day of repairing the den wall with additional reinforcements.

Not long after, he'd collected a few reeds from the surrounding edge of the iced-over river, clumsily hauling them in to begin the fixes. However, he stared at the den wall in thought- it wasn't going to be an easy task for one apprentice to manage, never mind two if the other was short as he was. Trying to prop a reed into place, he struggled to lift it high enough to attach, staggering and straining in the process. It was hard to maneuver properly, heavy and difficult to control and weave into place, but he made a small leap of faith to hopefully secure it.

Unfortunately, his attempt was far from successful. The reed came crashing down on him, but it wasn't just the reed- a part of the den wall and roof caved in on top of him, piling the little apprentice in a drift of fresh snow.

Lionstorm hadn't been able to sleep, and he found himself pacing the clearing when a crack alerted him something was wrong. It didn't take much time to find the culprit: a quick scan of his surroundings discovered part of the apprentice den had collapsed, and he was on the move.

Ducking to enter the den, he wasted no time in approaching the cave in. At first glance, he could see where the snow broke through over a nest, and beneath the pile-- movement?

He stopped near the mound, beginning to dig at the snow to reveal Fawnpaw, and he moved to pull him out of the snowdrift. "Are you alright?"

Fawnpaw wasn't sure how he was going to drag himself out of this mess. The snow would melt in time with sun high approaching, but that would be a cold time to wait until another apprentice either managed to get him freed, or someone else was alerted to his plight. Luckily, that time came rather soon. And... and of course it was Lionstorm. Fate wouldn't have it any other way because his life was an ironic mess of coincidences and awful timing to produce the most embarrassment.

Thankful for the rescue since it saved him hours of discomfort and potential freezing, as well as numb limbs, Fawnpaw blinked gratefully at him. His lithe frame continued to shudder and quake, trying to generate heat now that he was drenched. "Yeah," he breathed, trying to remove the remaining snow from his pelt, "I'm alright."

The words brought him back to the day of his apprentice ceremony, with Fallenstar being pounced off of the streamstone essentially. He inwardly winced at the memory because what came after had been the most awful part of it all, a pun on behalf of Fallenstar's plight delivered by Lionstorm. Hi Fallen, I'm dad. Ugh. He could hear it in his head.

Before Lionstorm could respond, he decided he would beat him to it. "And if you reply with that stupid pun, I swear to the stars that I'll never speak to you again," he asserted through a squeak of a huff, but it probably didn't come off as threatening as he would've liked when he stood several inches below Lionstorm and had a pelt dotted with snow. Maybe the defiant expression would make up for his shortcomings.

Lionstorm chuckled, nosing through the apprentice's fur to check for further damage before he stepped back, looking at the damaged wall. "What were you doing, practicing battle training in your sleep?" he questioned. "I know you haven't been formally trained, but you're not supposed to attack the den."

He smirked as he glanced at Fawnpaw, entertained that Fallenstar wasn't the only cat who remembered his earlier joke. "Oh, how threatening. My legs are shaking." The defiant way he looked at him only tempted Lionstorm to make the bad pun.

Fawnpaw stood stiffly as Lionstorm nosed at him, and he felt the warmth of his breath over chilled fur, a fitting considering there was a chilled apprentice underneath. "I'm not supposed to attack you either, but you're sure making it tempting," he meowed, still every ounce as intimidating as before. Which was to say, not very.

"Are you sure it's not from the exertion of pulling me out of the snow?" he asked dryly, self-deprecatingly, and it would have been good-natured if the subject didn't sting so badly. "A hefty task, since y'know, I'm fat and all." During his time as an apprentice, he'd been working to lose that extra pudge that clung on him as a kit, but now he was thinning out from a combination of age and lack of eating.

Trying to dodge an argument, he shoved the previous topic away with a sigh. "Do you think you could help me with the den wall? My nest is... was-- somewhere in there. The snow's been causing it to cave further every sunrise, so I thought I would try to fix it."

Lionstorm couldn't take him seriously. An intimidating Fawnpaw merely looked like a brown ball of puff. "Yeah, you're pretty bad at attacking me," his tone was teasing. "I bet those paws of yours would flail helplessly."

The amusement died at Fawnpaw's comment, and he stepped away from him abruptly. "I told you that you weren't," he muttered, glancing away at the mouth of the den with his ears flattened back. There went that. It was like his mood crashed down underneath the weight of the remark.

"I guess," Lionstorm responded quietly. "If you even want me to. I'm not feeling the love from you, Fawnpaw."

His paws weren't the only defense he had, and he considered the plausibility of headbutting Lionstorm or tackling him or ...biting him. No, attacking his clanmate wasn't how to solve this situation and would probably land them both in a heap of trouble - more than he would be in as it was with the den collapse.

"I know," he conceded, almost flippantly. "It's just... hard. I hear it whenever I'm hungry, or thinking about how I should take something from the fresh-kill pile. Look, that's not important." Fawnpaw didn't want to linger on this subject, easily sensing Lionstorm's dismay at it, though he didn't know why.

Lionstorm was pretty much his sole hope of getting the den back together efficiently. Rounding up another warrior would be difficult when: one, he didn't know any aside from his parents; two, warriors had bigger concerns with the Clan falling ill.

Raising his brown eyes to Lionstorm's dichromatic ones, he insisted, "I do. What, do I need to show you... 'love' or something?" It was a skeptical question with a puff of dubious laughter, but then he realized Lionstorm seemed to be serious. "Alright, well... uh," his eyes scanned him, "you're-- really. Y'know, big and strong? That's why I want your help. I mean, I need your help. Yeah, you're such a muscular, handsome warrior. Super tough and intimidating too." Was that enough of an ego stroke?

The praise resulted in Lionstorm puffing up, looking proud as his ego was fueled. He hadn't expected Fawnpaw to indulge him, but this was nice-- he liked it, and he wanted to hear more. "Anything else?" he prompted as he began to push snow away from Fawnpaw's nest, back through the hole it'd come from.

"I know I'm handsome and strong," he told him confidently as he collected the reeds Fawnpaw had strewn about and began to weave them as a patch over the hole. "Want to lend a paw? This might be useful for you to learn in case it happens again."

After he shook his head to indicate that was the end of the indulgences, he stepped away from his collected reeds to let Lionstorm through. "Very," he agreed with a soft snort, rolling his eyes as Lionstorm stepped away from him but with no particular malice behind the motion. Watching the golden tom, Fawnpaw took a seat where he'd previously stood and watched as he rebuilt the side of the broken den wall.

"I don't know," he meowed idly, a small smile on his muzzle, "I'm kind of enjoying this. Admiring you, that is. You and all your... raw strength." Although fairly sure he'd called him strong already, another time couldn't hurt anything.

However, he brought himself to his paws again to approach Lionstorm, trying to stretch his legs out to look taller, more useful in this task. "Where do you want me to help? What should I be doing?"

It was disappointing when Fawnpaw indicated he was no longer humoring Lionstorm, but the golden warrior pushed that aside as he continued to work on patching up the side of the den. He was aware of Fawnpaw's compliment, his admiration-- and he liked it, but he wished the apprentice didn't stop there. Some of it felt meaningless when it wasn't constant, or being held over his head as if Fawnpaw didn't genuinely believe it.

With Fawnpaw beside him, he pushed a reed close to the apprentice. "Take this. Now, you'll want to slide the reed between where it's already woven." As he spoke, he collected another reed and showed Fawnpaw as he went, sliding one part of the reed through an area that was already secured. "It helps it keep it in place. You picked out reeds long enough where we can do it on both ends."

Doing this wasn't hard, but it was tedious work to ensure the wall was fortified. Lionstorm wasn't looking forward to the prospect of doing this again. Maybe he needed to talk to Fallenstar about having others check the den walls to ensure they wouldn't collapse in a similar manner.

Fawnpaw was finding it hard to strain his legs to be able to reach the spots, huffing and puffing as he tried to do as Lionstorm instructed by sliding the reed into place. "I know this sounds kind of weird," he prefaced, "but I kind of wish it was my mentor telling me how to do this stuff. Leopardshine busy doing... I don't know, his 'important work.'" That had been something of a joke recently, a bitter point of humor because his oh-so-important work didn't include warrior duties or training his apprentice.

"Not that I don't appreciate you helping me out and explaining how this works," he added as he finished securing the reed, then backed off to admire the fixed den wall. Most of it had been Lionstorm's doing, being taller and stronger and more experienced, but he liked to believe he assisted a little. "I just wish it was him, y'know?" Fawnpaw shrugged his shoulders. "I guess it's kind of dumb. Anyway, Leopardshine did mention he was going to take me out soon, he finally has a task for me to do." He'd been vague about it, and he was trying to avoid getting his hopes up, but he couldn't help it.

Fawnpaw cast Lionstorm a lopsided smile, wavering with uncertainty. How could it not? Their past interactions were a wreck, but he had been... minimally decent this time. "Thanks again. I should probably get started on digging my nest out." There was still a lump of snow, now partially melted, covering where his nest used to be.

Leopardshine was a poor mentor, and Lionstorm was amazed the apprentice wasn't sick of waiting on him yet. "It should be your mentor," he told him, forcing his fur to lie flat as he restrained showing his frustrating. Why wasn't he a mentor yet? He deserved an apprentice. His brother didn't. "I wish he wasn't yours."

Turning away from the completed wall, Lionstorm glanced at the snow pile that replaced Fawnpaw's nest. Leopardshine was going to take him out? That was laughable. He couldn't help but wonder what Leopardshine was going to do to him now. Get him killed, maybe.

"Do you want help digging it out?" he asked. "It's a lot of work for such a tiny cat."

"Because he doesn't do anything to justify it?" Fawnpaw asked but didn't really expected an answer, already having built his own arsenal of reasons why Leopardshine was an unfit mentor. Perhaps he would get it together eventually, but for now, his training was as good as nonexistent. "But to be honest, I wish he wasn't mine either. I've been thinking about going to Fallenstar to be reassigned, maybe... maybe I will if this big outing doesn't go well."

As he was digging his nest free from snow and trying to ensure the snow stayed outside the confines of the den, Fawnpaw glanced over his shoulder and felt a spark of thankfulness for the offer. "No, it's okay," he said with a shrug and a good-humored laugh, "I'll probably have to build another and besides, I think you probably have something better to do, don't you? You made a point of telling me how you're an extremely dutiful warrior, not long ago." Running in circles in an attempt to gain strength was still cringey, and it hadn't even been a moon ago.

"But like I said before, thanks. For..." he tilted his head toward the den wall, "that, and everything else. Especially pulling me out of the snow drift."

Needless to say, Lionstorm was disappointed when Fawnpaw rejected his offer, and he began to head toward the mouth of the den. "Don't mention it," he called back. "I guess I'll see you around? If you need help, let me know." To exit, he had to duck down as he slipped through the entrance.

He was hardly two fox-lengths away from Fawnpaw and he already missed his company. Great.

When he heard Lionstorm shuffling away, and the sad mutter that followed, Fawnpaw's posture deflated seemingly along with his mood. That... didn't sound okay-- well, he didn't sound okay. But since when did he care about that? Fawnpaw knew he was rather empathetic but toward that guy, of all warriors? The big, fluffy golden jerk? He internally scoffed at his own foolishness.

However, it was for naught when he realized guilt clung to him like loose moss from a nest. The feeling of Lionstorm walking away upset had stirred an uneasiness in the pit of his gut as it would with any other, and he debated what to do, uncertain and fretting.

Hardly thinking about it, he surged forward and ungracefully flopped into the side of the den, tripping over the reeds and undoing part of their progress. Once he'd reoriented himself, he called, "Lionstorm! It... it broke again." But that was followed by sheepishness as he kicked at the den flooring, a shy smile on his muzzle. "Maybe you could help me fix it or something, I don't know."

Lionstorm glanced back, puzzled, when he caught sight of light beaming through a hole and the disheveled form of Fawnpaw. Was that... bits of reeds in his fur? Suspicious immediately, he turned around, ducking again as he re-entered the den.

"What'd you do that for?" he softly questioned as he looked at the wall Fawnpaw damaged. He was glad, in a way. It was inconvenient but he enjoyed spending time with the apprentice. "Guess you'd better fix it. Do you remember what I taught you?"

After a whole moon stuck in that sick cat den, known as the Quarantine Zone, Littlepaw was glad to be back in camp; he sure hoped he wouldn't be going back to that horrid place any time soon. He kept his gaze to the ground, avoiding eye contact with any cat, but that didn't help in the long run because his tiny paws stumbled over the chausie whom had spoken to him back at Quarantine. As he tripped, Littlepaw let out a small wail of surprise, falling over the other cat before falling on the ground flat on his face. The small apprentice shakily got to his paws, dipping his head as he slowly began to retreat, his pelt burning with embarrassment. "S... Littlepaw shuddered in horror at the thought that another cat may despise him. Stupid! Stupid!, the small white tom thought to himself. How could I be so clumsy and stupid? ((Uh, oh. my little boi isn't going to take this well))

Littlepaw sensed Wolfpaw's thoughts, and his head snapped up, fire in his blue eyes. "I can't help the fact that I am weak," he said, his voice a deadly calm. I have multiple sclerosis. That makes me naturally weak; I can't become any stronger because of it. How do you expect me to get strong?" his eyes softened, however, at the chausie's words, getting the subtle hint. "And, I'm sorry if I seem to be self-centered, but I know I'm not the only one facing these problems. But does that mean I don't have the right to long for companionship and comfort? I... I haven't experienced those things in so long, that I don't even know what they're like. I only know rejection, coldness, and cruelty. I haven't been loved for as long as I can remember... And then you... You were so kind to me in Quarantine..." the small apprentice trailed off, his eyes clouding. As Wolfpaw came close to him, however, Littlepaw suddenly flinched noticeably, afraid the chausie would snap at him again or hit him or something. then , at his words, Littlepaw felt his pelt burn and he scooted away. "I- I- I- I don't mean to be... J... Just don't get too close, please..." he gazed down at his paws before glancing back up, and his eyes widened at the affection in the black chausie's gaze. Littlepaw gave him the tiniest of smiles.
wolfpaw flicked his ears as he listened and sat down his eyes showing that he is actually paying attention . Although his eyes slowly widened at the fact that littlepaw had multiple sclerosis , that he didn't know before ,but in his mind littlepaw can still prove that it he's strong in many ways. Regret hit him like a monster on the thunderpath.....making him slightly flinch at the words before tilting his head "I'm sorry ...I didn't know....but you can still claw life in the face. You can show that your stronger in many ways . Not just by fighting . Which is what a prefer but...you know..." he meowed before clearing his throat " well , one it's their fault not yours. You can still make a difference in that you just have to find the right ones. And two be proud that your not in a relationship ...you show that you can rely on yourself . I used to feel that way littlepaw trust me. But now I don't care . It's their loss , their the messed up ones ." he meowed as he tried his best . Although he felt as if his heart could melt at littlepaws reaction making him smile in that googoo eyed way that queens get when they watch their kits , so darn adorable ! Why does he have to be so dang cute!? he just purred again "what ever you say ,you know has anyone told you that your cute when you do that?" he meowed before clearing his throat " and besides , I was bored and figured it wouldn't hurt to chat with somebody ." he added now looking at his paws out of the embarrassment that was slowly rising .

((I have so many ideas in store for my lil boi and Wolf cx ))

As Wolfpaw apologized, Littlepaw gazed back down at his paws. "It's fine...," he mumbled. As the chausie continued to speak, the small apprentice glanced up, wide eyed "You mean like revenge?," he squeaked, horrified. Then when Wolfpaw said it wasn't Little's fault that nobody seemed to care about him, the small apprentice felt a weight in his belly. But... It is my fault... My mom and dad always say that it's my fault they don't love me, he thought. they say that I'm useless and pathetic because of my illness. That if I hadn't been born with this stupid disease, cats would love me. he felt the weight swell to his chest, and his shaking got a little worse as memories of his kithood went through his mind: his mother slapping him hard with her tail; his father turning his back on him when he begged to play; his mother digging her nails into his back and hissing insults and threats into his ear. Littlepaw was suddenly snapped out of it when Wolfpaw claimed he used to feel the way he did, and the small apprentice's ears twitched. "W-well... I guess I need to get over it, huh? ...eheh..." his eyes suddenly widened at the chausie's next words, and Littlepaw's eyes narrowed, fire flaring in his blue orbs, and he tried to keep his fur from bristling. "I am not cute," he meowed with resentment evident in his tone, though it wasn't aimed at the chausie; rather, it was aimed at himself. "Nobody thinks I'm cute; I'll never be cute; I am NOT CUTE!" he had jumped to his paws, and he slumped down to the ground, the fight gone out of him. He then glanced up at Wolfpaw shyly. "s... sorry.... do... do you really think I'm cute? Nobody has ever said that about me." he felt his fur fluff up with embarrassment, his pelt burning. At the chausie's next words, however, the small apprentice felt a bit of pity for the other tom and gazed up at him, then stretched up his head to run his jaw along the other tom's muzzle briefly in a comforting manner before quickly pulling away and settling down, tucking his shaky paws underneath him. He tried his best to look normal, but his constant shaking didn't help much. He gazed up at Wolfpaw. "W... Well... I guess we could chat awhile... Just no funny stuff, okay...? he gave the chausie a tiny smile, a small sparkle in his blue orbs.

( I love these two ^-^ )

His ears twitched again this time he smiled but was wide eyed at what the other tom said making him shake his head "no! Not like that ....well...I mean it depends on the cat but....you know...the choice is yours and all that foxdung." he meowed somewhat quickly before sighing why is this so difficult ?....And they ask why I do things alone. he already felt the want to hide away, to mope and glare at everyone like usual , as littlepaw kept rambling which it's what it seemed like in his opinion he decided to sink down into a laying position but he layed on his left side almost like a panther would. Soon after he yawned as he felt exhaustion return and was trying to take back its control , he gave littlepaw a lazy smile before his head perked up out of shock at the small outburst but he just smirked "like I said it's their loss. And they must be blind . Because all I see is a cute wittle lamb . Say it all you want but you'll never change my mind ~" he purred back before tilting his head and nodding " do pigs fly? Of course I think so! How many times do I have to say it?" he meowed with his tail swishing calmly . Wolfpaw however flinched out of surprise at littlepaws next move , he knew it was for comfort but he felt greatly embarrassed which caused his cheeks to burn like fire, he wasn't used to all this contact ... Not even with his parents ... Not even his mentor honeychirp , he didn't have any hatred towards the Molly though . Blackberrypelt gave him glares and an occasional swat with her tail if he did something she really didn't like , and mainly harsh scoldings and arguments , all because he was him.....no wonder why she wished he would have died instead of sweetpaw. His sister was the better out of both. Part of him cherished the madness he caused BlackBerry but the other part of him...was scared...scared of her abandoning him one day.....just because she had enough. The chausie smiled again before grinning "no funny stuff? So I guess jokes and tricks are out ......bummer..." he meowed with a small shrug.

Littlepaw blinked slowly, his gaze thoughtful. "I don't think I'd claw life in the face with revenge... Uh, how else can I?" at the chausie's next words, however , the apprentice felt his fur fluff up with embarrassment. He gazed down at his paws. "Heh... I can never keep my fur clean, I'm fat, and I have stocky legs, yet you think I'm cute." his ears pinned back on his head a bit. He then saw the chausie was deep in thought, and the small apprentice glanced around. He let out a tiny yawn and glanced at Wolfpaw as the chausie spoke again. Littlepaw let out a little mrrow of laughter, an amused sparkle in his blue orbs. He shook his head, purrs rumbling through his chest. "Y... Ya know, you're not too bad to hang out with," the small apprentice mewed, before letting out another little yawn.

((Oof, sorry it's so short xc
And yeah, me too x3 ))

( it's ok :3 )
The tom tilted his head and mentally face palmed at the question as his expression showed the mental reaction " you can help watch over the kits, you can do border patrols, you can take care of the elders even though it's a boring job.....I'm sure they'll appreciate it .... l-look I'm trying here ok? " He meowed but quickly ran out of ideas ,he was trying to give littlepaw hope but as he did try he found that it was tricky. He looked at his paws as he waited for the others response but his right ear flicked making him look up at the tom and give him a serious expression before softening "so? Your cute to me. Isn't that better then nothing ? And it's not often I find cats cute. " he meowed . His whiskers twitched as he smiled "your not so bad yourself littlepaw." although a thought popped up, he swore he saw a tabby with littlepaw once . ...what was his name "hey weren't you with a brown tabby once? .....I think his name was Grovepaw right?.....Or was it just me? I'm just curious because I haven't seen that tom in moons since that battle..." he meowed .

Littlepaw purred with amusement, and shook his head, a smile on his maw. His small ball of a tail twitched. "It's okay... You don't have to think of anything right now," he mewed, an amused glint in his blue eyes. His fur heated up a bit at the black chausie's next words, and his gaze dropped to his paws again. "Well, I... uh... never mind... thank you, I guess." however, at Wolfpaw's mention of Grovepaw, Littlepaw flinched, his eyes widening and suddenly stricken. He curled up into a ball and suddenly, his gaze grew serious and slightly cold. "He died in the fight. Does that answer your question? And yes, in fact I spent quite a bit of time with him, I lo-" he suddenly broke off, shaking his head. "Never mind... Just do not mention that name around me anymore. Do you understand? Do not ever mention him again." he struggled to rid of the sudden hostility he had put in his tone, but the mention of the tom he had loved before just brought too much pain and grief. He had hoped he would eventually forget, but just when he did forget, some stupid cat would mention him and cause the emotions to resurface all over again! Why did t have to be now? Why did it have to be Wolfpaw to remind him, his only friend? He glowered at the black chausie for a moment before he turned away, closing his eyes. "Can... can we just change the subject? Please?," the small tom mewed softly, a slight tremble in his voice.

((I hope all this with Grovepaw is okay, if not I can edit my post, since I really don't know what's going on with Grovepaw now))

( it's good! And..grovepaws in the dumpster......I can take him out again....if you want . But then that'll be awkward. )

Wolfpaw twitched his tail and was internally surprised by littlepaws reaction ,just because of that he was even more interested ! But he bit his tongue and nodded, although he was jealous of the other tom what's he have that I dont? I'm better! I can actually fight for starclan sake! ah, there it was that classic line amongst the many others, he's just a coward that doesn't deserve his warrior name. he thought bitterly . He barely saw that Tom fight when he was supposed to. Bitterness and jealousy showed in his eyes for a long moment before he sighed with a yawn,he just let silence fall over them for while since he couldn't think of much to say. "Honey bee, honey bee, don’t you sting me
Don’t you sting me no more
With a heart like yours, search and destroyer
You take what ever your owed
I can’t let you, I can't let you go~" he decided to sing silently for a bit instead " let me be the fool fool fool who would live and die for you ~" he added before yawning again. this is getting boring ...c'mon think of something ! his eyes lit up as a playful smirk could be seen. He stood up, crouched , and leaped toward littlepaw hoping to tackle him with his claws sheathed "c'mon little man! " he chuckled .
