Ludicrous Lunacy

Dime a dozen
For a package
Of fresh water
But in Flint
You'd be lucky to get
A bottle of it
For a dollar

For a hundred
You could by a whole
Cow but in
Camaroon
You'd have to buy a hoof
By laboring and removing
Every blackfly from a lagoon

No chance to wonder why,
'Cause before the years go by
Y'gotta pick out all the sugar--
You waiting for the grass to grow?
Damn, you're going to slow
Not payed if you go home

No I can't chase
The lions away from your herd
In the night
Just scare them away with
A light it'll
Give them a fright
With something bright
They need help with eyesight

The waves rose
Thar she blows
But then it's all knocked down
The big blue
Keeps its crown
We don't need it no more

No money
To buy some honey
Just a spoonful of suger
Murmuring by the creek
Everything they get is
Too cheap
But don't ya say a peep
Cheep cheep
Let that little birdie pipe
Till the end of the night
Assuming we can last 'till daylight
