✣Introduction✣

Your paws ache as you haul yourself up rocky terrain, but you don't mind it. It's better than walking on the burning sands on the beach, that's for sure. You sigh a breath of relief as you spot a small, grassy meadow. A small purr escapes your throat you pad along the lush and cool mountain grass. You can't help but feel as if you belong here, living along side the mountain in peace. As the sun warms your pelt, you can't help but start to dose off.

"Hey, wake up." A voice mews, prodding you in the side. Your eyes grow wide as you are surrounded by a patrol of cats. A sleek, silver and white furred she-cat stands in front of you."Silverstar, what should we do?" Chimes in a smaller cat, just a little larger than a kit. The cat is quickly silenced by an older cat, his hostile eyes watching you. "It's simple." Silverstar starts off, looking down at you." This cat can either join us, or leave the mountains." Her eyes narrowed slightly. " So, what do you want to do?" She asked, authority in her voice. Perhaps this could be the start of a new life for you. So what will you do? Will you join? Or leave the mountains?

✣ Rules ✣

This RP accepts LGBTQ+ characters! So go ahead and join with characters that fall under these terms. If you are uncomfortable with this then I suggest not to join this clan.

✣ Literacy ✣ First of all, no txt tlk! Secondly, please avoid writing 1 liners. I can't reply to 1 liners, they aren't descriptive, nor are they informative of what your cat is doing. Please understand this and try your best to reply with correct punctuation and spelling. It's okay if you mess up! All I expect is your best!

✣ Relationships ✣ Please let your character develop a crush rather than just join with one, it adds to roleplay fun and development. No having your own characters being mates with each other! That also takes away from the roleplay fun, plus it's way cuter watching two characters fall in love. BE SURE TO NOTIFY ME WHEN YOUR CHARACTER FEELS SOME TYPE OF WAY FOR ANOTHER CHARACTER. And never forget that crushes are not started with. If you really like the idea of someones character with yours, just ask if you can RP them together. That said, i don't want to see someone go "Gee, I wish Swagpaw would fall in love...!" because that goes heavily against my rules. I want this to be as realistic as it can be! People don't fall in love after one conversation and I would appreciate if ANY of you interested in joining realize this.
** THEREFORE ** - - That means DO NOT plan character relationships! Please respect that I want relationships in this clan to be fluid and natural. Should you have an issue with this rule, clearly this clan is NOT for you. There's plenty a clan that allow planned relationships and joined crushes.

✣ Activity ✣ Please be active at least 2-3 times a week, and by that i mean rping. I love to chat with everyone, but this clan is for RPing so please at least RP once in a while every time you are here. If you don't feel included enough then go ahead and tell me and I will do my best to help you get into the RPing action! Those who are not active for over 2 weeks will be deleted. Please tell me if you're going to be absent, or if you wish to leave the roleplay. Do not join and never come back because I don't want to waste my time adding you.

✣ Characters ✣ I have no problem with have characters in an rp that are handsome, beautiful, pretty, ect., what I do have a problem with is when they HAVE NO FLAWS. If you need ideas for your characters don't be afraid to ask! ^u^ I don't have a cat limit, but please only make a amount you can handle. You aren't expected to rp all of your characters at once either, especially dead cats. So don't worry if you don't touch a character for a while. All i ask is that you remember you have them. Keep the Genders even! I will NOT allow a person to have a gender difference no larger than 3. So should you have 3 she-cats and 0 toms. You NEED to do something about that. No joining as queens or as an orphaned kit! However, if you're willing to set up a plot to find your kit, i'm willing to let this slide!

✣ Powerplay ✣ No godmodding or spotlighting! It's bland and boring. This includes cat killing, you cannot kill a cat without permission! Also, no auto dodges, or auto hits. Be realistic with fight scenes! Your cat will not come out of battle unscathed. The cats in the books have only ever chased out predatory animals.. So don't have your character killing foxes or badgers!

✣ Respect ✣ I won't tolerate any from of bullying or disrespecting to another member! I don't want this to get deleted as I and a few others put a lot of effort into this clan, and if you do have beef and not chicken with someone, take it away from here please, and talk it out. I won't hesitate to ask someone to leave the roleplay. We've dealt with our fair share of 'arguments' and trust me when I say this clan is very civil and understanding. We talk things out. We get over differences. This is for the enjoyment of rping, and while friendships and chatting is a very real thing too, please understand each of us is different and deserve the same amount of respect as anyone else.

✣ No Kit____ing ✣ If you try to do any Kit___ing, we will ignore you, if you try multiple times, I believe I have the right to report you for spam. Kit-STEALING can be okay if used in this rp for plot advancement and if the respective parties are okay with it. I know kit___ing is quite dead now, but hey, I can't be too careful.

✣ Spam ✣ I do not want anyone advertising anything here, unless you are a member and you've asked me personally. However, saying "___ come back to ___" is fine!

✣ Plot ✣ Don't try to make a large scale plot without my confirmation. I like getting in on plot planning too! However, small plots like taking down an eagle, or forbidden romance do not require permission! Unless it reaches a more serious state. Also, as this has been a small problem in this clan before. Do not plan very dramatic things without letting the people you're rping with know what you're planning to do. And PLEASE do not get mad if the people you're rping with are not okay with what you want to do. Remember there is a person behind the name.

✣ Realism ✣ I don't want cats with pink fur and hair covering an eye. This goes with names too. This clan is going to be situated in a Mountainous area so names like Dragonwish or Pegasusfur will not be accepted! HOWEVER, I like the idea of cats with unusual EYE COLOURS! So cats with purple eyes, or red eyes, are totally fine! just not cats with black or white eyes. That idea is just scary.
Another realism thing to consider is time. Time WILL pass in RP whether you want it to or not! Please do not keep your character as an apprentice for over 40 moons!

✣ Apprentices ✣ No apprentice queens or apprentice mates! Apprentices are learning and that is their role in the clan. Drama is fun but please respect your character for what they are. These things can happen after they become a warrior. Only under a VERY strict criteria would I allow someone to break this. Also, please consider that you make a warrior should you have an apprentice. I really hate to see a person rp nothing but apprentices. I mean, come on! You leave it up to everyone else to make sure your apprentices get mentors and it's simply not fair.

✣ Positions ✣ For this RP, it will be like the books, where the Leader will choose apprentice names, and Medicine cats will choose Medicine cat apprentice names. Cats can only make name suggestions with good reason! ex. Crowsky in honour of Skyheart. Also, just like the clans, when the leader dies, the deputy must be prepared to become leader. Same for Medicine Cats. I want this clan to revolve around the realism that is in Warriors. PLEASE ALSO LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU WANT YOUR APPRENTICE TO BE MADE A WARRIOR. Because I do not want to be the one in charge of your character for those types of things, and it'd be bad if i randomly decided your character is a warrior when you didn't want them to be, you know? That said I feel the need to reiterate that PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do NOT have your apprentice... be... an apprentice.... their... whOLE... LIFE...

The cats of AetherClan posses an air of gracefulness. They protect one another and stand together against any of the odds, always coming out as stronger in the end. Though, there is no specific word to describe these cats as a complete whole as they are different and unique in their own special ways. Considering the territory of the clan, cats here generally have dull coloured pelts as brighter coloured ones would give the cats here a disadvantage against their surroundings when it comes to hunting or tracking. It's not surprising here that the cats have hardened paw pads from living on their rocky terrain of a territory for so long. Though there are the few unfortunates who are still soft-pawed.

The unique thing about AetherClan, is that both the Leader and Medicine Cats have a special powers.

The Medicine cat's power allows them to walk into the dreams of anyone of their clanmates, while the Leader's power is a little trickier then that. Leaders have the power to enhance their endurance, strength, or speed. That power comes with a serious punishment though, as it can cause: tiredness, confusion, fainting, blindness, possible loss of feeling in a limb. Once a leader passes on to StarClan, their deputy takes their place as leader and thus becomes the next owner to these powers once the leader ceremony is complete.

AetherClan's Territory is based in a mountainous region with rolling valleys, forestry and streams. The territory itself is very lush and lively, often undisturbed save for the occasional upset by predators or pests. In the mountains, there are very steep cliffs and it's often advised to never ascend to the higher altitudes. AetherClan camp is based in the mountainous portion of the territory, where all of the mountains seem to lie next to one another almost on a line. Because of the uniquely consisted territory, these cats have an expertise in different altitudes and environments. The territory itself is found in a very continental climate and biome, meaning the weather in Leafbare is very chilling and the weather in Greenleaf is very warm.

{ The Forest } - - Is a thickset forest full of deciduous trees and coniferous. A heavy amount of prey is found here.

{ The Valley } - - Is a set of lush, rolling green hills. There are a few streams that jut into them during Newleaf and Greenleaf.

{ Bright Meadow } - - Is a large and colourful field filled with many different plants. The occasional rabbit runs through here and most of the herbs are found here. Cats who find themselves wanting to frolic here aren't really judged as it is often the best place to come in order to relax. When the season is Leaffall, the meadow is usually consisted of dulling colours. Where as when it is Leafbare, the meadow is completely bare until the next season save for the few plants that can withstand the cold temperatures.

{ Blossom Tree } - - In the middle of the valley's island there is a tall and large standing, cherry blossom tree that blooms it's pink petals in late newleaf. it's often that mates can be seen here to view the beautiful scenery it provides. If it's not during late newleaf, the colours of this tree will be a minty light green.

{ Shell Rock } - - A large, rock like structure in the shape of a shell for which it was named. It is on a cliff near the ocean that borders AetherClan's edge. It is apparent that mates often come here when their time allows them to as it overlooks the ocean at sunset and is overall a very nice place.

{ Newleaf Twolegplace } - - A small, traditional, fenced-in cottage at the very edge of AetherClan facing the ocean. This place is only a threat to be around during Newleaf and sometimes Greenleaf. During these times all clan cats are ordered to stay away from here. There is a thunderpath to allow arrival and exit of twolegs during Newleaf. NOTE; as the twolegs leave arrive in Newleaf and leave by Greenleaf, if your kittypet cat is there outside of those times, you must accept and RP out that your cat was abandoned.

{ The Thunderpath } - - A cemented, paved road that reeks of tar and burned rubber during Newleaf. It is usually unused unless the season is Newleaf and sometimes Greenleaf. Cats are highly suggested to never come here during Greenleaf as the road can easily burn paw pads if the weather is hot enough.

{ Snowed Peak } - - Is a the tallest mountain in AetherClan territory and it sits at the furthest edge of the territory corner to the right. The trek here is hard and difficult to navigate. Apprentices may never come here alone without a warrior or the leader.

{ Starry Cavern } - - A dark yet concealed cave at the base of the Snowed Peak. Here is where the cats of the clan come to speak to their warrior ancestors.

✣ Territory ✣

AetherClan's Camp is situated in a large and wide cave at the peak of one of the more shorter mountains in the region. The cave entrance is rather large but is concealed by a thin yet veiling waterfall. There is a path just out of the water's reach to allow exit and entrance of the camp, and is the sole way to come and go. Large, chiseled rocks are at the entrance of camp and they serve as a source of protection from possible predators and the harsh weathers on the outside such as wind, snow and hail. The cave floor is rather disheveled but is cool and stony underneath the foot. Thanks to the cascade at camp entrance the air in camp is rather humid and always scents of moisture, also because of this, there are stalactites that have formed on the cave ceiling. To keep organization, the cats have utilized the series of caves inside their camp quite rationally.

{ Leader's Den } - - A cave just a fox length off the ground, there is a series of large, step like rocks that allow for easier access than leaping. It is the closest den to the entrance. Has a downwards tunnel that leads into the Medicine cat den. The leader and Medicine cat usually talk in private here. Just outside the den is where the leader calls clan meetings.

{ Deputy's Rock } - - A smooth stone with scratch marks on it's surface. Is located right at the foot of the leader's den by the 'stairs', the latter of which is above the ground level. This is where the Deputy sleeps and arranges patrols.

{ Medicine Cat's Den } - - A cave just little ways away from the elders den and nursery. There are small holes in the walls that allow for easy storage as well as rocks to keep herbs under. Has a upwards tunnel that leads into the Leader's den. The leader and Medicine cat usually talk in private here.

{ Nursery } - - A cave that is beside the Medicine Cat den. The cave flooring is lined with moss and feathers for safety and nurturing.

{ Elder's Den } - - A cave just beside the Nursery, fairly small but can hold several cats.

{ Warrior's Area } - -The warriors sleep out in the open of the large cave they call camp. Their nests are small divots in the cave that are filled with moss and feathers for warmth and comfort.

{ Apprentice's Area } - - The apprentices also sleep out in the open of the large cave they call camp. Their nests are small divots that are filled with moss and feathers for warmth and comfort. They sleep beside the Warriors Area, in the corner of the cave.

✣ Starry Cavern ✣

Welcome to the Starry Cavern! This is the place in which the cats of AetherClan come and speak to their ancestors, whether it be for guidance or for their nine lives; Here is where they come.

There is a dark and dusky cave at the foot of the Snowed Peak, the tallest mountain in the region. When one looks straight into the cave, it's pitch black and it is hard to tell what is where. Only cats who have been here a few times are familiar to the cave's layout and know that there is a small, tunnel like pathway, that they need to go through in order to make it here. The tunnel is long and seems to stretch on forever before light appears at the end and one emerges from their encasement at last.
Once out, the pathway becomes a stony passage to the willow tree on an island in the very middle of the cave. It is still dark, yet the shallow, crystal clear water surrounding the pathway and island glows a brilliant shade of blue At the end of the dry pathway is the hollowed out willow tree and that is where the cats need to step inside in order to get to their sacred Sunset opal. It is only when the moon is at its highest point that the sacred opal will light up to its brilliant sunset shade and this is when the cats need to press their noses to it. The sunset opal is hit by the moon light in the opening of the cave ceiling just above the willow tree.

✣ Medicine Cat Stuff ✣

Herb List

Alder- Tall tree that grows in boggy, wetland areas. Leaves are simple and serrated (toothed). The bark is dark and often covered in moss. Twigs are spotted and sticky to touch. The bark can be eaten or licked to cure a toothache.

Adder’s Tongue- Found buried in soil, has purple-blotched leaves. Induces vomiting if eaten. Poultice can be applied to swellings and ulcers to treat them.

Beech- Large tree usually with a thick trunk that grows in sandy or chalky soil. Wood is rather smooth and usually somewhat gray in color. Iconic oval leaves with defined straight lines. Leaves are often used to carry medicine supplies. Also can be used as a bowl of sorts. Oil from the nuts can be applied directly to wounds to fight and prevent infection.

Bindweed- A vine-like plant with white, trumpet-like flowers and distinctive arrow-shaped green leaves. Grows almost anywhere like ivy. Vines can be used to tie things, most importantly sticks to broken legs to set the break.

Blackberry- Also called bramble. Very common and grows in most forests. A stout bush characteristically very prickly. Leaves grow in threes and are olive-green with reddish-brown tinged edges. Younger leaves are completely brown-red. Chewing the leaves into a poultice can be applied to bee stings to bring down the pain and swelling.

Bloodroot- Grows in rich open forests. Has a wax-like white flower, a single leaf with a pale underside. The roots are orange-red and smell bitter. Very poisonous.

Borage- Commonly found in gardens and old dwellings. The whole plant is rough with white and prickly hairs. Flowers are blue or purple and star-shaped. Leaves are eaten to stimulate milk in queens. Can also bring down fevers.

Broom- Hardy meadow shrubs with small leaves and tiny yellow flowers that grow upwards in a tall cone. Is used to make poultices for broken bones.

Burdock- Stout plant with large wavy leaves and purple flowers inclosed in a burr. Found in damp areas. Has a very sharp smell and dark leaves. Leaves can be eaten to treat indigestion. A poultice of chewed root is very important in the treatment of rat bites.

Burnet- Small bush that grows in dry meadows. Has multiple oval-shaped leaves on multiple single stalks. In Leaf-Fall and late Green-Leaf, large clusters of small flower buds grow on the top of the plant. It is eaten as a travelling herb to keep a cat’s strength up. Little is known about it.

Catchweed- A very small weed with fuzzy green orbs that grow tiny white flowers on long stems. Found where ever there is a lot of long grass and low vegetation. Burrs are very rarely used to keep poultices in place without irritating the wound or skin.

Catmint- Also known as catnip. Is very rare to find in the wild and can normally only be found in two-leg gardens. Is a very delicious-smelling plant that is low to the ground and possesses small, bumpy, slightly fuzzy leaves. Are eaten to treat Greencough and Whitecough. Collect in the day so the morning dew will be gone and it won’t rot in storage.

Celandine- An uncommon yellow flower with four petals and long pollen-stems. Has a prickly, fuzzy stem. Found in sunny areas of forests or meadows. Nectar is trickled into damaged eyes.

Chamomile- A small, daisy-like white flower with a large and bulbous yellow center. Has a heavy and sweet smell. Only found in two-leg gardens. Blossoms and petals are eaten to strengthen and calm the heart and mind. Also given for strength when traveling.

Chervil- A sweet-smelling plant that is large and very leafy. Has fern-like leaves and small white flowers. Roots are dark brown, gnarled and knoby. Grows in forests among rocky areas. Leaves are chewed and spit out for the juice on infected wounds. They can also be eaten to sooth a bellyache. They also assist in nausea that sometimes occurs when kitting.

Chickweed- A tall, vibrantly green plant with a hard stem and broad, almond-shaped leaves. Sometimes has tiny, five-petaled flowers. Found in forest areas among rocks. Eaten to treat greencough, but is not as strong as catmint.

Cob Nuts- Smooth, brown nut that is a member of the hazelnut family. Found under hazel nut trees. Chewed and made into ointments that would otherwise be too soupy to apply. Also used to attract prey.

Cobwebs- Webs from a spider, normally old or abandoned. Can be best found in dark and secluded areas. Used like a cloth on open wounds to stop bleeding. Applied to recovering wounds to keep medicine in place or protect the wound.

Coltsfoot- Found the most around wet places. Has iconic hoof-shaped green leaves and fluffy yellow flowers that look similar to dandelions. Leaves can be eaten to cure a cough. A good thing to give to kits that are having trouble breathing or have kitcough.

Comfrey- Small, short plant with very large and broad leaves and very tiny, purple, bell-shaped flowers. Found in damp and grassy areas, mostly where there are a lot of dew-filled mornings. Roots are chewed into a poultice. Treats broken bones, soothes open wounds, applied to wrenched or twisted claws. Leaves ease stiffness in shoulders and legs if lined in a nest.

Coneflower- Rich purple flower whose petals are seated in a high cone. Is very sweet smelling and tasting. Grows in northern rugged areas near short pine trees. Roots and leaves eaten to give strength and disease resistance.

Daisy- Small plant with a circular, iconic white flower with many petals and a yellow center. Found nearly everywhere. Dark oval leaves are chewed into a paste to apply to aching joints. Can also be eaten to prevent ***** pain when traveling.

Dandelion- A memorable yellow flower with long, weak, hollow stems. A half moon after the weed blooms, the yellow flower turns into a white sphere of minuscule smaller flowers that blow away in the wind. Is extremely, annoyingly common. Liquid within the hollow stems is applied to beestings to help them get better. Leaves can also be eaten to treat pain but taste awful.

Deadly Nightshade- An obviously deadly poisonous plant. It is found under the shade of trees, on wooded hills, and will grow very luxuriantly, forming bushy plants that are several feet high when not exposed to a lot of sun. Leaves are dull, darkish green in color and of unequal size. The lower leaves are solitary. They are all oval in shape and begin off of short petioles (leaf stems). Soft, downy hairs may occur on young stems and leaves. The veins of the leaves are prominent on the underside. The leaves both smell and taste awful and bitter. In Leaf-Fall, around the base of the petioles will grow shining black berries about the size of a small cherry. Despite their sickeningly sweet taste, these berries are the most fatal part of the plant.

Deathberries (Yew)- A quite large and poisonous plant. Found in most forests. Identifiable by it’s red and stout, pealing trunk and pine-like leaves. Dock- A common, large leafed plant with a tangy, almost sour, smell and taste. Doesn’t grow on mountain-sides but is easy to find in leafy, relatively flat forests.Leaves can be applied in a poultice to reduce swelling, help skin issues, and heal broken or injured pads. Stings quite badly when applied. If placed in nests, can sooth the pains of recent wounds.

Elder- A short-trunked, few-branched tree with corky, furrowed bark. It has feather-like leaves with toothed leaflets that smell horrible when touched. It grows in woodlands that are not too cold and have weak winters. It is most commonly found near rabbit holes and badger sets. Can be used to help treat sprains. However, never eat - they cause a horrible unknown sickness. (Cats wouldn't know, but the leaves and most of the other parts of the plant contain cyanide.) Added by ||Stormbird||

Considered the best herb for speeding up the healing of wounds and treating them in general. However is rarely found in forests or mountainsides.

Heather- A common moor plant known for its purple or grayish-purple, tiny clumps of sweet flowers on stalks. Is sometimes used in mixtures to make them easier to eat with their sweetness.

Holly- Plant with shiny, dark green, spiky-edged leaves and plump red berries. Berries are very poisonous.

Honey- Golden and sticky liquid made by bees and found in their hives. Taken with bitter herbs to get them down easier. Mixed with some poultices to make them hold to wounds easier. Can be given to kits without someone to suckle from as a nutrient substitute. Is very good for smoke-damaged throats. Also gives energy.

Horsetail- Found in temperate northern regions. Fernlike in appearance with fronds that resemble pine fronds with its needle-like leaves. A decoction applied directly to a wound will help stop the bleeding and promotes a faster healing. Also can reduce eye swelling.

Ivy- Found in vines growing on trees, cliffs, and rocks. Has green leaves with white edges and a half-star shape. Vines still growing on a wall or tree-trunk be used to store herbs.

Juniper Berries- Dark-green bush that grows in areas that aren’t wet. Has very spiky leaves and clumps of purple or blue berries. Berries are eaten to sooth bellyaches. Can be used to give strength and calm cats. Tastes sweet.

Knotgrass- A very common weed found relatively anywhere. The stems can grow up to six feet in length, with leaves that alternate and are stalkless. Leaves are narrow and oval. Roots are very strong and branching. A tonic can be made out of knotgrass to treat diarrhea. It can be directly administered to kill worms and fleas.

Herb List Part II

Labrador Tea- Found in taiga and mountainous biomes. It is a shrub that grows to a height of four to five feet with irregular and wooly branches. Leaves are alternate and elliptical or oblong. The upperside of the leaves are smooth and the underside is woolly, edges are rolled back. Bees are greatly attracted to the large, white, five-petaled flower clusters. It can be made into a poultice and rubbed on the chest and neck to treat coughs and chest infections. Tastes and smells spicy, slightly like mint.

Lamb’s Ear- A small, very soft, fuzzy whitish-green plant. Fuzzy leaves resemble sheep ears. Very common on mountains. Eaten to give strength.

Lavender- Found in two-leg gardens and near thunderpaths. A grassy bush with tall clumps of small purple flowers. Has a sweet and calming scent. Cures fever and chills if placed in a cat’s nest and inhaled constantly. Also placed on the bodies of the dead to hide the scent of death, especially at burial.

Mallow- A short plant with fuzzy, three-pointed leaves that are somewhat bumpy. Sweet-smelling purple flowers with narrow, heart-shaped petals. Grows best near the seashore. Only harvest at sunhigh when they are dry for they rot easily. Eaten to sooth bellyaches.

Marigold- Found in wet meadows and along streams. Showy dark-green plant with a very large buttercup, usually red or yellow. Infusion of flowers prevent seizures. Poultice can be applied to wounds to prevent and fight infection. Can also be used for inflamed joints.

Mint- Low-growing plant with downy and serrated leaves. Leaves can be anywhere from green to purple to yellow but keep their white fuzz. Very sharp, minty smell and taste. Found anywhere that is wooded and rugged. Rubbed on a dead body to hide the scent of death. Also can be eaten with food or rubbed on a queen’s belly when her kits are having trouble suckling.

Mouse Bile- Stomach bile taken from a dead mouse. Used to remove ticks and fleas from pelts.

Oak Leaves- Dry leaves are taken from the forest floor. Best found in Leaf-Fall. Poultice chewed and applied thickly on wounds to stop infection from spreading.

Oleander- A lesser known poisonous flower. All parts are toxic to most animals, including cats. It is a shrub that can grow up to twelve feet high with wide, white, red, or pink roselike blossoms. Leaves are thin and waxy. It thrives in hot or sunny places.

Parsley- Found in moist soils that have a lot of sun. Grows low to the ground. Leaves are broad and crinkly and have ragged edges. Has tiny clumps of five to eight white or yellow flowers on a branching stalk. Generally has little use in most mammals but can stop milk flow in some queens. Is poisonous to birds.

Poison Ivy- A very powerful irritant that causes horrible, itchy skin lesions and can cause fur loss. Widely distributed in dark parts of forests. Roots are reddish and branching. Leaves are rather large and three-parted. The central leaflet is the longest and the lateral ones are almost stalkless. When dry the leaves are papery and brittle, sometimes with black spots. Plant grows low to the ground. It can be ingested for a nervous system sedative (temporary paralysis), but causes irritation and delirium.

Poppy- Common field flower that is a rich scarlet color. Seeds are eaten in small quantities for relaxation and as a sleep aid. Too many too often can cause addiction.

Ragwort- Tall shrubs with yellow flowers. Leaves are tiny but numerous. Always tastes rotten. Found in cool areas that get a lot of rainfall. Applied in a poultice to treat aching joints and keep the joints’ strength up.

Ragweed- Commonly found in the mountains among mountain rocks. Is a ragged-leaved plant that looks similar to a fern. Eaten for strength and energy.

Raspberry- Looks very similar to a Blackberry (or Bramble) bush, but leaves are soft to the touch with sharp toothed edges. Has red berries that look exactly like blackberries. Leaves are given to queens to stop bleeding during kitting. Berries can be used to coax out prey.

Rosemary- Tall, needled bush with small, light-purple flowers. Found relatively anywhere that is dry. Put on a dead cat to hide their scent, especially at burial. It is seen as a bad omen to smell rosemary when there is none around.

Rush- Long, very very thin leaved plant with dark reddish-purple heads on its stalks. Grows in soils that don’t seem to grow anything else. Hard stalks are used to bind broken bones.

Snakeroot- Best treatment for poison, especially from snake bites. Is a short-growing plant with numerous, very tiny white flowers in clusters and pointy and narrow green leaves. Chewed and applied directly to snake bites.

Saffron- Grows in meadows and forest clearings only in Green-Leaf. Low plant with grass-like leaves and lily-shaped pink flowers. Parts of plant eaten before and/or after kitting to prevent or stop heavy bleeding respectively.

Sage- Generally grows about a foot high and has wiry stems. Leaves are in pairs up the stem and are oblong with rounded ends. They have prominent veins. Flowers grow only in late GreenLeaf and are in whorls, purplish and lipped. All parts have a strong herbal odor and have a warm, bitter taste. Most commonly found in forests near the coast. Drinking a tonic of water and crushed sage can soothe the throat. Fresh leaves can be rubbed on teeth to strengthen them in Elders.

Sorrel- Tall plant with arrow-shaped leaves. Tiny round red flowers on a stalk. Roots and leaves used to help with heavy bleeding. Grows pretty much anywhere. Is also used to give appetite.

Stick- A thin twig usually found on the ground. Given to cats in pain to bite on to keep them from crying out too much. Also used in binding broken bones.

Sticklewort- A woody root with black stem, some spikes, and small flowers and leaflets. Found in dry thickets in fields. When mixed in a tonic of water and honey, can be ingested to fix the worst stomachaches and, surprisingly, snake bites (if taken immediately).

Stinging Nettle- A strange-looking bushy plant with yellow-green, long, and toothed leaves. Is most distinguished from its strange strings of very tiny bulbs. Has tall, hard, brown or green stems. Leaves and steps can be covered in hairs that are either soft or spiky. Found all over forests, and most common in moist fields. Seeds are eaten by a cat to induce vomiting. Seeds and leaves can also be chewed and applied to swelling areas. Can be mixed with comfrey to help heal broken bones. Stems also help with infection.

Sweet Sadge- Thick, reed-like stem with long corn-like buds at the top. Grows only in Leaf-Bare. Most common near rivers or streams. Sap is swallowed to ease internal infections.

Tansy- Vertical and leafy stem, very tall. In leaf-Fall, yellow flowers grow described as round and flat ‘buttons’. Can generally grow anywhere in a wood. Poultice applied to sprains and swelling.

Tormentil- A small yellow flower with tiny stems and a strong aromatic smell. Found in most cool or even cold areas. Poultices can be applied to all wounds and even snake bites.

Thyme- Commonly found in twoleg gardens, old dwellings, or at the base of rotted trees. Has very small, narrow and elliptical, dark leaves. Small, pink stemmed buds grow out of the topmost leaves. Thyme is generally combined with other herbs. Alone can be eaten to treat headaches and toothaches.

Valerian- Stout plant with thin leaves and fluffy purple flowers on a thin stalk. Found on mountains in cool but not cold areas with open skies. Roots are eaten to calm nerves, dull pain, and promote sleep. Seen as a stronger poppy seed (read tranquilizer) because body actually becomes numb and weak from consumption. Leaf juice can be rubbed on claws.

Water Hemlock- Grows in wet and marshy areas and occasionally partly submerged in water. Has thin, jagged-edged leaves. Tiny green or white flowers grow in umbrella-shaped clusters. Causes pain, writhing, and foaming at the mouth (seizures).

Watermint- A green and leafy plant with small purple flowers that grow in a sphere. Eaten to ease a bellyache. Found in streams or very damp soil.

Wild Cherry- A large tree that produces white, pink, and (very rarely) red blossoms. Also referred to as sakura. Bark is very dark and reddish, nearly black. The cherries are about the size of a pea and are glossy and sweet. A tonic made of bark can be used as a sedative and is a surprising treatment to Greencough.

Wild Garlic- Strong smelling, grass-like plant with white, round roots. Found at forest entrances. Rolling in it can disguise scent. Can be chewed after vomiting to get rid of bad breath. Can be applied to bites or scratches to prevent infection, especially those from rats.

Willow- Tall and thin tree with long, curtain-like strands of multiple narrow leaves and flowers, usually brown, light green, or white. Bark can be chewed to ease pain or bit on when in pain like a stick. Willow leaves can be eaten to stop vomiting.

Wintergreen- Very similar in appearance to holly. Has small, dark green leaves and tiny red berries. Was thought to treat wounds and poisons but should be avoided because of looking so similar to holly.

Witch Hazel- Found in the Northern East of most continents. Looks similar to an apple tree but much smaller. Has smooth gray bark, oval leaves with prominent veins and slightly wrinkled. The leaves fall off in Leaf Fall but small yellow flowers appear at that time. A poultice heavy in water with a slight oil content from the plant can be applied to wounded eyes to help treat them. A poultice made of both crushed seeds and leaves can be applied to the most painful of swellings to sooth them.

Yarrow- Grows pretty much everywhere. Stem is hard and long. Small white flowers grow in clumps. Eating any part of the plant fresh induces vomiting. Dry yarrow eaten in small quantities has been known to open bloodflow (when bitten by snake or in shock) and to help with colds.

✣ Medicine Cat Terminology ✣

Ingest- To eat or drink, consume.

Sedate- To make sleepy or make fall asleep. To calm.

Tonic- Similar to a poultice, but ingested. Herbal material is crushed or chewed then placed on a broad, cupping leaf where water is applied to make the mixture a drinkable liquid.

Poultice- A soft, moist mass of material, typically of plant material, applied to the body. Medicine cats chew and spit out or crush (depending on the oils in a plant and how they may affect oneself if ingested while chewing) a plant’s leaves, roots, or seeds to be used in a poultice. Sometimes water from moss may be applied to make the poultice more moist. Occasionally honey may be used to make the poultice stick to the body better.

✣ Techniques ✣

- Gently nipping or poking a cat’s spine is done to see if the backbone is broken. Can also be done on the tail or legs to see if they are broken as well.

- Licking a cat’s fur is done to help clean wounds, calm a cat in shock or grieving, or warm a cat that is extremely cold. Normally kits’ fur is licked the wrong way at birth to help them start to breath and warm them.

- Herbs such as mint and lavender are placed on the dead before burial to hide their death-scent.

- Using honey, plants such as berries or mint, or prey’s blood can be used to make herbs easier to eat.

- Holding a swelling wound in cold water helps soothe and heal the swelling. Cats can also soothe scraped pads by soaking them in water. Added by ||Stormbird||

- Soaking moss in water should be used to cool feverish cats or provide for those that are too weak to get their own water.

- Telling a cat to yowl, wail, or yell loudly can sometimes clear their lungs and chest of mucus.

- Patting a descended belly while your ear is pressed up against it can determine if a patient is pregnant, has worms, or is bloated, depending on the sound and feel of the belly. Belly will be hard and sound like distant rushing water if pregnant, will sound dull and have a painful give to it if it is worms, and will sound bubbly if bloated.

- Swimming is great therapy for cats with weak muscles or bones. Also helps elders with inflamed joints or muscles.

- When removing a burr or torn claw, do not pull directly upwards but instead at an angle. This limits pain and makes it slightly easier to remove.

- If any herbs are wet, leave them in the sun to dry. It is best not to harvest herbs in morning or right after a lot of rain. Wet herbs will rot.

- Never completely deplete a herb where it grows so it can grow more later, unless the clan is truly desperate and/or you are positive there is another supply somewhere.

- Berries that are poisonous such as holly and yew berries can be used to kill predators, but can also be used to kill a suffering cat ONLY if they ask for them and you know there is not much else you can do to treat them.

- Its not always best to gather fresh herbs directly when stock of one gets low. Leaving camp too often in search of herbs is inadvisable. Instead, try to plan herb gathering trips when there are three or so piles getting low. Never wait too long however.

- Never give a pregnant cat more than three herbs during their kitting or poppy seeds (as they may become too sedated or sleepy to push). Some herbs and herb combinations will cause them to bleed more or prolong the kitting. Choose which herbs you give to a kitting queen wisely, or give none if it is not truly necesary.

✣ Illnesses ✣

Kitcough- An uncommon illness effecting weak kits. Usually happens to kits that had a difficult birth or did not start breathing right away. Identified by a harsh cough that weakens the kit. Usually harmless but very persistent and can lead to weak lungs.

Whitecough- Synonymous to a cold. Characterized by a running nose and eyes and a lasting slight cough. If left untreated, it can turn into Greencough.

Greencough- Similar to the flu. Symptoms include a running nose and eyes, chest pain, slight trouble breathing, a wet and loud cough that produces mucous, and tiredness. Sometimes causes a really bad fever. Can cause death if left untreated.

Blackcough- A horrible but rare disease that can come from nowhere. There is no known cure, only ways to help cope with it. It almost always results in death. It is unlike Whitecough or Greencough and does not come from those illnesses. It begins with chills and a cough with a lack of appetite. Weakness, dizziness, and nausea then ensue along with a worsening cough that results in blackish blood being hacked up. Wheezing and difficulty breathing are the worst part and normally are what kills the ill. It is believed that blood that is coughed up can cause Blackcough in any that touch it. Not formally featured in the Warriors series.

Shock (Emotional)- Can sometimes happen when great trauma has just occurred to an individual. Characterized by a lack of emotion or empathy, denial, ceasing to communicate, and rocking back and forth. Treat with poppy seeds, comfort, and, in extreme cases, valerian.

Shock (Physical)- Occurs due to blood loss and/or extreme pain. Characterized by chills, numbness, rapid heartbeat, low blood pressure (not that cats can really check that), and weakness. Is life-threatening because poor blood supply and breathing can lead to cardiac arrest or cellular damage (again, cats wouldn’t know the science behind it but they can know that it kills at least.) Treat by giving water, honey, and small quantities of dry yarrow. Cover and treat any bleeding wounds or broken bones.

Smoke Inhalation- Is caused by the obvious: breathing in smoke. Severity is determined based on the amount of coughing, if wheezing and nausea are present, and listening to victim's chest.

Cloudmouth- Or rabies as it's known in real life. It is to be noted that, as of now, rabies has not been featured in the Warriors books. Cloudmouth is very contagious, spread from the mere bite, scratch, or saliva contact of someone infected. Depending on what stage the infected animal is at when they come in contact with the victim, Cloudmouth can have no symptoms until two weeks to a year after the contamination. Characteristics of this disease include a distinct fear of water, inability to swallow, sleep, drink, or eat, mania, foaming at the mouth (to which the disease is named), paranoia, rage, and, three days to a week after symptoms show, always results in death. There is no treatment as of now. Infected cats should be heavily and carefully sedated and sadly left to die outside of clan territory for the safety of the rest of the clan. If cleared by the clan leader, feeding deathberries to cats with Cloudmouth may be a dire action to take. Those suspected to be infected that still have their sanity should always be asked if they want this option.

✣ Medicine Cat Code✣

1. A medicine cat cannot take a mate.

2. A medicine cat cannot have kits.

3. A medicine cat will never let personal feelings get in the way of his or her duties.

4. Medicine cats are outside Clan rivalry and are, in most cases, not to be touched when they are traveling across borders.

5. A medicine cat may be trained in as a warrior before becoming a medicine cat, but it is difficult for a medicine cat to become a warrior.

6. Medicine cats are outside Clan rivalries, but they still must learn basic fighting moves.

7. A medicine cat is the one to interpret signs and omens from StarClan.

8. Medicine cats cannot reject an injured cat.

9. A medicine cat must do everything in his or her power to save a sick or injured cat.

10. A medicine cat will give his or her life to save a cat.

✣ Medicine Cat Tasks ✣

- Knowing all of the herbs and store a supply of them in their den.

- Treating wounded and sick cats.

- Assisting queens while they are pregnant with kits, giving birth, or nursing.

- Actively checking up on the health of Clan cats.

- Visiting the Clans' sacred place at every half moon to seek guidance from StarClan.

- Interpreting prophecies and omens and sharing them with the Clan leader.

- Upon the death of the Clan leader, accompanying the deputy to the sacred place to be appointed as the next leader.

- Training an apprentice as the Clan's next medicine cat.

- Visiting StarClan when in a crisis that requires direct communication with StarClan.

- Preparing deceased Clan members for burial.

✣ Common Practices ✣

- Apprentices, at six moons, are brought to the clan's sacred place to be introduced and named before StarClan.

- Despite popular belief, medicine cat apprentices are not generally expected to treat cats themselves. They are to watch and observe, only treating a cat as they are instructed to do so.

- An apprentice is to be given their full medicine cat name by their mentor, not the clan leader, at the clan's sacred place.

- Once becoming a full medicine cat, the apprentice gets full duties even if their mentor is still alive.

- Medicine cats normally preform their duties until death.

- Though medicine cats are not allowed to take mates or have kits, a warrior that has previously had a mate and kits but no longer has their mate may become a medicine cat.

- Most medicine cats and their apprentices are briefly taught to hunt but normally stay in camp.

- Medicine cats are to visit the clan's sacred place to communicate to StarClan every half moon, however they can miss a moon here and there with no repercussions save they might worry about not receiving important information.

✣ Warriors Pawbook ✣

~The Warrior Code~

If you are a newcomer to the Clan and do not know how we live, then you've come to the right place! All Clans live by these few rules, created by the Ancestors themselves, and passed through the generations as a must-follow code! If you are to survive, please look here!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Defend your Clan, even with your life! You may have friendships with cats from rival Clans, but your loyalty must remain with your own, as one day you may meet them in battle!

2. Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan’s territory!

3. Elders and Kits must be fed before Apprentices and Warriors! Unless they have permission, Apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the Elders!

4. Prey is killed only to be eaten! Give Thanks to StarClan for its life!

5. A Kit must be at least six moons old to become an Apprentice!

6. Newly appointed Warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their Warrior name!

7. A cat cannot be made a Deputy without having mentored at least one Apprentice!

8. The Deputy will become Clan Leader when the Leader dies or retires!

9. After the death or retirement of the Deputy, the new Deputy must be chosen before moonhigh!

10. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats!

11. No Warrior may neglect a Kit in pain or danger, even if that kit is from a different Clan!

13. An honorable Warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his battles, unless they are outside the Warrior Code or it is necessary for self-defense!

14. A Warrior rejects the soft life of a Kittypet!

~Combat Techniques and Strategies~

Here, Warriors who are inexperienced at mentoring, newly appointed Warriors, or Apprentices wanting to impress their mentors can learn a few tricks to hide up their pelts for an attack or battle with a rival. Use these wisely, as they have been passed down from our Ancestors before us, and it would be irresponsible for us to neglect the use of these tactics!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
✣ Aboveground Battle Moves ✣

The Sky-Crusher- Landing with all four feet on top of an opponent, flattening them like a leaf!

The Flick-Over- Landing with front paws outstretched to sweep the opponent off his feet and roll him into his back.

The Kick- Kicking down hard as a Warrior nears the ground, then using momentum from landing to spring away before the opponent can retaliate!

The Slice- Dropping down with claws unsheathed for maximum injury!

The Branch Swing- Holding on to a branch with front claws and swinging the hind legs into the opponent's face.

The Reverse Branch Swing- Holding on to the branch with the hind claws and striking with the front legs through the swing while claws are unsheathed.

The Trunk Spring- Sliding down a tree trunk and springing off at head height, using the hind legs to push off and clearing opponents (Good if tree is surrounded).

The Reverse Climb- Climbing backwards up the trunk of a tree as the opponent advances to gain advantage of height; Often followed by Trunk Spring.

✣ Water Fighting Techniques ✣

Double-Front Paw Slap-Down- Splashes water into the face of the enemy!

Underwater Leg Sweep (Front or Hind)- The opponent will not see it coming under the water's surface so he won't have the chance to brace himself before losing his balance.

Push-Down and Release- Almost all cats panic if they are submerged, while others know how to hold their breath underwater. This move can be used to secure a decisive victory, because its most likely to make the opponent surrender!

Underwater Clinch- Uses a Warrior’s weight to hold the opponent below the surface, with a firm grip that enables the Warrior to bring his enemy spluttering back to the surface before forcing him under again!

Tail Splash- Temporarily blinds the opponent by flicking water into his eyes.

Underwater Push-Off- Crouching and erupting out of the water and into the opponent, using surprise and impact to knock him off balance!

Rushpaw Splash- Using the noise of water splashed at a distance to create a decoy, leaving oppertunity for a surprise attack!

✣ Other Fighting Techniques ✣

Back kick- Explosive surprise move to catch opponent from behind. Judge opponent’s distance from you carefully; then lash out with your back legs, taking your weight on your front paws.

Belly rake- A fight-stopper. Slice with unsheathed claws across soft flesh of opponent’s belly. If you’re pinned down, the belly rake quickly puts you back in control.

Front paw blow- Frontal attack. Bring your front paw down hard on your opponent’s head. Claws sheathed.

Front paw strike- Frontal attack. Slice downward with your front paw at the body or face of your opponent. Claws unsheathed.

Killing bite- A death blow to the back of the neck. Quick and silent and sometimes considered dishonorable. Used only as a last resort.

Leap-and-hold- Ideal for a small cat facing a large opponent. Spring onto opponent’s back and grip with unsheathed claws. Now you are beyond the range of your opponent’s paws and in position to inflict severe body wounds. A group of Apprentices can defeat a large and dangerous Warrior in this way. It was deployed to great effect against BloodClan’s Deputy, Bone. Watch for the drop-and-roll countermove, and try to jump free before you get squashed.

Drop-and-roll- Used as a countermove against leap-and-hold. Drop to your stomach and roll in an attempt to squash your opponent under your weight and escape their grasp.

Partner fighting- Warriors who have trained and fought together will often instinctively fall into a paired defensive position, each protecting the other’s back while fending off an opponent on either side. Slashing, clawing, and leaping together, battle pairs can be a whirlwind of danger for attackers.

Play dead- Effective in a tight situation, such as when you are pinned. Stop struggling and go limp. When your opponent relaxes his grip, thinking you are defeated, push yourself up explosively. This will throw off an unwary opponent and put you in an attacking position.

Scruff shake- Secure a strong teeth grip on the scruff of your opponent’s neck; then shake violently until he or she is too rattled to fight back. Most effective against rats, which are small enough to throw. A strong throw will stun or kill them.

Teeth grip- Target your opponent’s extremities – the legs, tail, scruff, or ears – and sink in your teeth and hold. This move is similar to leap-and-hold except your claws remain free to fight.

Upright lock- Final, crushing move on already weakened opponent. Rear up on back legs and bring full weight down on opponent. If opponent does same, wrestle and flip him under you. This move makes you vulnerable to the belly rake, so requires great strength and speed.

✣ Tail Signals ✣

Tail held Erect- "Stop"

Tail Rippling- "Move forward with care"

Tail held Erect and Sweeping Slowly from Side to Side- "Retreat silently!"

Tail pointing low parallel to the ground and Sweeping- "Spread out!"

Tail Flattened- "Get down!"

Tail Bobbing- "Enemy sighted!"

Tail Hooked- "Danger!"

Tail pointed Sharply- "Go that way"

Tail held Erect and Waving from Side to Side- "Stay behind me"

Tail kinked over Back- "Follow me"

✣ Ceremonies ✣

Ceremonies are held when a new Apprentice, Deputy, or Leader is being named, or when a Warrior retires from his duties to the Clan and becomes an Elder. Each ceremony is different, and must be held by the current Leader of the Clan, unless the Leader has given permission to his Deputy or Medicine Cat to hold it for them, but that is very rare. Ceremonies are Clan traditions and usually begin when the Leader has called for a Clan meeting.

✣ Apprentices ✣ Performed when a Kit has reached the age of six moons old and is ready to receive his or her Apprentice name and is assigned to a Warrior of the Leader’s choosing to mentor them. It is unlawful for a Kit younger than six moons to become an Apprentice.

Leader: “(Name of Kit), you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to become an Apprentice. From this day on, until you receive your Warrior name, you will be known as (Kit’s name prefix)paw. Your mentor will be (name of Warrior). I hope (name of Warrior) will pass down all he/she knows on to you.”

The Leader calls up the Warrior he/she has chosen as a mentor.

Leader: “(Name of Warrior), you are ready to take on an Apprentice. You had received excellent training from (former mentor), and you have shown yourself to be (quality) and (quality). You will be the mentor of (Apprentice), and I expect you to pass on all you know to ( name of Apprentice).”

The mentor touches noses with the Apprentice, and the Clan greets the new Apprentice by calling out their name. After this, the Apprentice will usually go greet their family, or go see to their mentor.

✣ Medicine Cat Apprentice ✣
Similar to an Apprentice ceremony, however the Apprentice being named will be assigned to the Clan’s current Medicine Cat as their mentor, and after the ceremony both Medicine Cat and Medicine Cat Apprentice must journey to the Starry Cavern to greet StarClan. In addition, it is the Medicine Cat who holds the ceremony. Same rules apply, an Apprentice must be at least six moons old.

Medicine Cat: “Cats of (Clan), as you know, I will not be around forever. So it's time I took an Apprentice. I have chosen a cat who has shown (virtues or morals). Your next Medicine Cat will be (Apprentice).”

Leader: “(Apprentice), do you accept the post of Apprentice to (Medicine Cat)?”

Apprentice: “I do.”

Medicine Cat: “Then at the half-moon, you must travel to the Starry Cavern to be accepted by StarClan before the other Medicine Cats.”

Leader: “The good wishes of all (Clan) will go with you.”

The mentor touches noses with the Apprentice, and the Clan greets the new Apprentice.

At the Starry Cavern
At the next half moon, the Medicine Cat goes with the Apprentice to the Clans’ sacred place to present them to the Warrior ancestors, where the Apprentice confirms their wish to be a Medicine Cat.

Medicine Cat: “(Apprentice), is it your wish to enter the mysteries of StarClan as a Medicine Cat?”

Apprentice: “It is.”

Medicine Cat: “Then come forward.”

Medicine Cat: “Warriors of StarClan, I present you with this Apprentice. (He/she) has chosen the path of a Medicine Cat. Grant (him/her) your wisdom and insight so that (he/she) may understand your ways and heal (his/her) Clan in accordance with your will.”

Then the Medicine Cat and the Apprentice lay down and have a dream from StarClan.

✣ Warriors ✣
Performed when an Apprentice has completed his or her training, when the Leader or their mentor has deemed them ready to receive their Warrior Name. All newly appointed Warriors, by tradition, must hold a silent vigil overnight and watch over the Clan. They are not allowed to speak during their vigil, even to the Leader unless otherwise permitted, and may not sleep until their vigil has ended.

Leader: "I, (Leader), Leader of (Clan), call upon my Warrior ancestors to look down on this Apprentice. (He/She) has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as a Warrior in their turn. (Apprentice), do you promise to uphold the Warrior Code and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Apprentice: "I do."

Leader: "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your Warrior name. (Apprentice), from this moment you will be known as (Warrior name). StarClan honors your (quality) and (quality), and we welcome you as a full Warrior of (Clan)."

The Clan cheers the new Warrior’s name and touches noses with them. From that point forward the new Warrior will hold his or her silent vigil while watching over the Clan overnight.

✣ Deputy ✣
When the current Deputy of the Clan steps up as Leader, after the current Leader has either died, retired, or proven unfit for the rank (either followed by demotion to Warrior or exile), a new Deputy must be appointed. Each new Deputy must be named before Moonhigh. Sometimes a current Deputy may die or retire as well, and leaves the rank to someone else of the Leader’s choosing. Other times a Deputy will be demoted or chased into exile if they have broken the Warrior Code. A Deputy must have trained at least one Apprentice to qualify for the rank.

Leader: “I say these words before StarClan, so that the spirits of our Warrior ancestors (or former Deputy name) may hear and approve of my choice. The new Deputy of (Clan) is (Warrior’s name).”

✣ Medicine Cat ✣
Named when the Medicine Cat Apprentice has earned their new name or the current Medicine Cat has passed.

Medicine Cat: "I, (Medicine Cat), Medicine Cat of (Clan), call upon my Warrior ancestors to look down upon this Apprentice. [He/She] has trained hard to understand the way of a Medicine Cat, and with your help [he/she] will serve [his/her] Clan for many moons. (Apprentice), do you promise to uphold the ways of a Medicine Cat, to stand apart from rivalry between Clan and Clan, and to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?"

Medicine Cat Apprentice: "I do."

Medicine Cat: "Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your true name as a Medicine Cat. [insert Medicine Cat Apprentice’s name here], from this moment you will be known as (new name). StarClan honors your (quality) and (quality)."

✣ Elders or Retiring Cats ✣ Performed only when a Warrior, Medicine Cat, Deputy or Leader is ready or ordered to give up their rank and move to the Elders den due to age, illness, or injury, where they will be cared for by the Clan. Elders may still defend their Clan during battle or raids on the camp if they must or see fit.

Leader: “(Warrior), is it your wish to give up the name of a Warrior and go to join the Elders?”

Warrior: “It is.”

Leader: “Your Clan honors you and all the service you have given to us. I call upon StarClan to give you many moons of rest.”

The Clan will call out the retired Warrior’s name and then they will go to the Elders den.

✣ Name Changing ✣
Occurs when there is a purpose for changing a cat’s name, such as due to a sign from StarClan, or when the name no longer suits said cat. A cat may also make a request to the Leader that their or someone else’s name be changed

Leader: "Spirits of StarClan, you know every cat by name. I ask you now to take away the name from the cat you see before you, for it no longer stands for what he/she is. By my authority as Clan Leader, and with the approval of our Warrior ancestors, I give this cat a new name. From this moment on he/she will be known as (new name), for (description of the reason). We honor his/her (quality) and (quality)."

The Leader rests their muzzle on the newly named cat’s head.

The newly named cat will give the Leader’s shoulder a respectful lick and the Clan will cheer the cat’s new name.

✣ Vigil for the Dead ✣

If a Clan cat dies, their body is taken to the center of the camp, and several of their Clanmates, usually the cat's family members, close friends, and mentor/Apprentice sit vigil for them through the night, sharing tongues for the last time before the Elders bury the cat in the morning.

There can also be vigils for cats without bodies and suspected dead. There is no burial, but the cats still sit vigil.

♀ - - { Leopardstar } -- { Leader } - -

Leopardstar is a sweet cat, with a soft spot for kits. She is more of the analytical type, seeing as she would rather fight with words than with claws and teeth. If figting with claws and teeth is necessary, she will often take days, or even weeks to plan out her attack. She is possibly the best cat you would go to if you needed help-she is a great listener, and an even better problem solver. One bad thing about Leopardstar, is that she is very strict, and will make you get up in the middle of the night to go hunting. She also can be mean, and will sometimes punish cats for no reason. Leopardstar hardly ever uses her powers, because she feels that they will corrupt her.

Leopardstar is 47 moons, and has all her lives.

Leopardstar looks like this (http://s3.amazonaws.com/assets.prod.vetstreet.com/e8/c0/d620c77e4fb3951f71b7637f2cf8/savannah-cat-ap-0xthsr.jpg).

When Leopardstar was a kit, she was traumitized. Her mother was the medicine cat, and her father was a rogue. Of course, nobody knew except for her parents and her. The was she found out, is that Leopardkit was dared to go out into the territory. That's when she saw her mother and father arguing. She could barely make out what the words were, but she knew they were something about her. One thing she did hear clearly, was something along the lines of this.

Rogue: "I'll kill you if you don't give me the kits! You're not fit to take care of them!"
Medicine cat: "Those kits are rightfully mine!"

At that moment, Leopardkit raced back to camp. Her siblings rushed over to her and asked them what she did. Not knowing, Leopardkit spilled everything she saw, and heard.

The next morning, the rogue comes back with her mother's dead body. He demands the kits, but the leader kills the rogue.

Leopardkit is now an apprentice. Her apprentice years are pretty boring, except everybody now teases her for being part rogue. Leopardpaw trains, and trains and trains. Now, everybody fears her. During her warrior ceremony, a group of loners and rogues come rushing through the camp entrance. The leader dies, and her former mentor gets chosen to be deputy.

Now, with her warrior name, Leopardblaze, she is a very popular cat. There are battles, and trouble throughout the clan. Little does she know, all of these battles that are causing plenty of deaths, are all staged by the deputy, AKA her former mentor. When Leopardblaze found out, her former mentor promises her a joint leadership. She refuses, and tells the clan of his betrayal. They exile him, and she becomes the new deputy. Not long after, the leader dies in their sleep. People think it was her former mentor, but it was a natural cause. Now, Leopardblaze is the leader, and she takes on the name Leopardstar.

That said I feel the need to reiterate that PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do NOT have your apprentice... be... an apprentice.... their... whOLE... LIFE...

✣ ✣

✣ ✣

- - P R O C E S S I N G - -

✣ ✣

[ ✣ ] { Agender Form }

- - {Lichenwhisker} -- {Warrior} - -

As a thriving cat, Lichenwhisker has seemed to be able to make the best out of any situation despite advances to eliminated, take over, or destroy them as a character. As they were growing up, they started off under the name Rosekit and grew up into a finely trained apprentice with incredible tracking and perception skills. Everyone thought that they would grow up to be titled under something that showed off their skills at hunting, but that seemed to not be the case. The tortoiseshell brought up to the once-named leader that they did not like their name- it did not define who they were as a soul, as what they had been debating over for nearly the entirety of their apprenticeship. The tort just wanted a name that didn't show off their feminine side, but rather something that just showed off how they looked and their skills- and thus Lichenwhisker was born.

Lichenwhisker is a tortoiseshell agender cat, biologically female, with a pale green set of eyes and, as their name unironically suggest, long whiskers and prominent ones. Their whiskers are slightly curled at the end. Their tail is slightly shorter than normal, however, this does not seem to hinder them- as their work is uninterrupted and they show no signs of sensitivity in their tail base. They are on the rather large size, which makes them able to survive in a battle on brute strength alone, but can easily be taken out by a cat with the ability to weave, dodge, and spike the blows that the tall feline cannot quickly put out. Any hit is a rather displacing one, but they are rarely hit and often times miscalculated by a longshot.

As a small kit born into the Clan, they originally started out as a she-cat. She developed as a single kit who got the spoils of attention from her parental figures. She got all of their care, love, and was never devoid of it until the end of her parent's lives- they were rather close in age and so they died very close to age. This was their time, and she knew it. She lived alright until her second moon of apprenticeship, where things took a turn for- in her mind -the worst. They suffered from a lack of understanding within themselves that could not be understood until they started to understand why- they didn't feel at home comfortably with themselves. They always knew that they never felt safe, but they never knew that it would become the spike in their life that took a turn for the worst. They, on the two days before her warriorship. Rosepaw asked the leader a very important question- if they could not have the name they were assigned, for it showed their feminine side too much. Instead, as they went on to say, the wanted a more gender neutral name that was more fitting of their title, of who they were- a cat that lacked the need, want, or security to have a gender to their name. The leader complied after they took their time with explaining it thoroughly, and then out came the news. They first got the name-changing ceremony, to Lichenpaw, before the warrior's ceremony, Lichenwhisker, for their tortie pelt and their hunting, tracking, and perception skills.

others; They have a fear of eating birds because of their fear coming from inhaling feathers in their bed as a smaller apprentice, however, their size makes it easy for them to take down any large birds like an eagle, and because of their acuteness to their surroundings, they are an exceptional fighter.
Though, they can not use their abilities in battle. They are clumsy, unaware, and illogically places despite their prediction skills that make them a lethal hunter.

oops why did that take too long

✣ ✣

♂ - - { Blazingeyes. } -- { Warrior, possible deputy if the current one dies.} - -

Description: Blazingeyes is a pure black, short-furred, tom. His fur is quite thick and tough, perfect for winter, though horribly hot in summer. His eyes are a dark amber, almost red. Blazingeyes frame is very strong, good for fighting and catching large birds, his legs are particularly powerful, almost earning him the warrior name 'Blazinglegs.'

Personality: Blazingeyes is very calm and relaxed, and the ultimate 'don't judge a book bye it's cover' story. His intimidating appearance seems ridiculous when you get to know him. As he is very fun-loving and freindly. His greatest flaw is his stubbornness, he will never let a cat help him as he feels he must feed all of the clan; with no help. A lot of the time at night he stands guard over the camp, his pitch black pelt helping him blend in with the darkness.

History: He was first brought into the clan as a rouge. At 6 moons old he was a used of stealing three kits but then it was found out he was trying to help them, his father had stolen them. He proved himself by taking them back to camp and risking his life. He was seen as an evil cat for most of his apprenticeship, because of his appearance and his upbringing, but proved himself by killing a fox that was attacking some kits. He has been seen as a loyal warrior ever since.

Other: TehDerpyShoelace maybe his father can be the same as Leopardstars father?

[reference] (http://cdn1-www.cattime.com/assets/uploads/gallery/maine-coon-cats-and-kittens/maine-coon-cats-and-kittens-1.jpg) emery is a thirty-two moon old loner, who is a maine coon with very thick fur. his pelt is colored a dark brown tabby color, with minimal white spotting and long whiskers. emery's fur isn't the most groomed, and it's quite messy due to his life of being a wanderer, foraging for food the best he can as he travels through the mountains. there is scarring around his two front wrists from infected stinging nettle scratches, which weren't treated very well due to him usually traveling in solitary. his build is one that can classify him as a 'tank', with high stats in defense and endurance with his thick skin and fur, able to withstand blunt trauma slightly better than the average cat, though his stats of speed and balance suffer due to this imbalance of power.

emery has never been a very social cat, always aiming for survival instead of really building relationships with other cats- he's usually alone. emery finds himself quite awkward when forced to talk to them, and is quite socially inept when faced with the idea of striking up a conversation. emery is focused on his own survival, and he's not a cat who is known to stop and converse- though when faced with something where his own life is at stake, he'd be willing to join a group.

emery was born to a kittypet named lulu, and life was alright in the first few moons of his life- until his elderly twoleg ended up passing away, and he was separated from his mother and taken to a cat shelter, where he was eventually given as a kitten to a twoleg family with a young child- though without lulu, he was extremely unhappy. at the slightest opportunity, he took a chance and escaped out of an open door, beginning to forage for his own food under the guidance of an elderly stray named miriam for a few more moons. eventually, he began to stray by himself towards the mountains of aetherclan, and has been living by himself for the rest of his life until now.

(we may start)

Amberpaw padded carefully and quietly into the medicine cat's den, breathing in the aroma of a collection of various herbs and similar remedies. She wasn't quite sure if anyone was inside, but she hoped it wouldn't be a problem if she entered. After all, she was the medicine cat apprentice, she had a right to be here surely. Well, unless she was interrupting something. Amberpaw couldn't see or hear anything happening however, so she kept walking in. She stopped before the herbs and examined them carefully, but not daring to touch any of them unless needed. She sat down and examined them, noticing the little things that made each of them different, or similar.

(Is it possible you could put all that info in the beginning on a website? It would be a lot easier to navigate when needed.)
