A dense canopy of conifer trees block out the light of the sky, creating am eerie darkness within the territory regardless of the time of day. Often cooler and riddled with fog due to the marshlands that surround the territory, the forest flooring is covered in pine needles and pine cones with very little undergrowth.

Iceclaw looked around the territory for a moment as she claimed that she would leave soon, but was enjoying their conversation. He didn't understand how she be doing so, his end of the conversation was short and fairly obvious that he was trying to get her to leave, and yet she wanted to stay and chat. He was hesitant for a moment, unsure what to say to her. He knew he should run her out of Shadowclan territory, but she harmless... and just wanting to talk to him. Fine... but only for a bit, no one better find us, he gingerly sat down, though his tail twitched slightly at the thought of someone seeing the tow and seeing in as disloyal. It wasn't too long ago that he had proven himself as loyal and earned his warrior name back. Iceclaw gave a nod as she called Shadowclan pretty. Being away for some moons, he had learned to miss and love this place, and also hated himself for leaving in the first place, for what he had done and everything he destroyed. He constantly though of Eversong and their kits and even Snow...Snow.... Though that last thought was always quickly pushed back to the darker areas of his mind. "Yes, I guess it really is," he didn't let his ice blue orbs leave Thistlesplash, not wanting to let his guard down at all. "I'm surprised that this is the best conversation that you've had, there should be a lot to talk about back at your camp," he had finally placed the smell - and gave himself a mental note to check all the clans' scent and memorize them. He knew about Marshsnow's death, and believed that many cats would be talking about it, and possibly still talking about Bucknight. Talk about a new leader tends to die down quickly, but some cats were a bit on edge with Bucknight's and Blazingnight's names... and he was as well.

~for Owl- I just started where I could remember we left off, is that ok?~

Winterpaw looked over at her companion, a quick glance to make sure he was following. "You aren't going to back out on me now, are you?" she asked, a mischievous twinkle in her blue orbs. The young she cat smirked, looking up at the trees and swishing her tail as she did so. She loved to come into the territory, even when she wasn't planning on doing much. She looked up at the sky, just barely being able to see it through the canopy of trees and she smiled, her white fangs showing just barely. Her smile faltered suddenly and a strange expression came over her face as she looked back at Turtlepaw. Why hadn't he been playing with his friends? And why had he been all alone like that? Winterpaw shifted her weight a little nervously, a question entering her mind but she wasn't quite sure if she ought to ask it. "Do you mind if I ask you a...a personal question?" she asked, with a slightly embarrassed look on her face. She knew that it wasn't exactly the best thing to do, but the question was nagging at her and practically begging to be asked...and Winterpaw had never been one to shy away from getting to know about somebody.

A bright eyed she-cat looked around, her usually hyper mood now dull and sorrowful. A sigh escaped her lips. Her twin brother had gotten angry for some reason and is refusing to talk to her, or even glance her way. The she-cat, Ashenberry, let her tail drag along the ground and her head to hang. What did I do wrong? I don't remember doing anything that would make Smokeyface angry.... The white and grey she-cat thought, sniffing and feeling a breeze ruffle her fluffy fur.

Marshfoot padded quickly away from the training ground, his ears still burning from the compliments Octoberwind so purposefully gave. The tom had gained other cats attentions before, of course, though they were rarely reciprocated. However, there was something different about how Octoberwind behaved around him. She gave her full attention to him and seemed to enjoy watching and observing him. Marshfoot often kept to the sides, enjoying the solitude and quiet of his own company. Yet, he couldn’t help the small itch he felt to be closer to the other warrior. She was interesting. She had been to the tom for a while now. He had rarely gotten the opportunity to speak with her, though he rarely allowed himself to speak to anyone outside of his apprenitce. He had put many hours and days into Cedarpaw’s training and it was obviously showing. Marshfoot was determined to help Cedarpaw become the best warrior he can be and provide just as fully to the clan as he himself does. The future of Shadowclan was Marshfoot’s main focus and always has been. How was Octoberwind supposed to fit into it? The tom obviously knew he wished her to, though he hardly knew where to star. He decided hunting was the best he could come up with and led the small group purposefully deeper into the forest. His green eyes shifted from Octoberwind back to Cedarpaw and the warrior flicked his ear slightly, signaling for the apprentice to stop here and scent the air. Marshfoot could already pick up the scent of vole and frog as he parted his jaws. With a small nod towards his apprentice, Marshfoot padded off in search of the vole. The tom’s massive paws made little sound in the soft earth, though they sunk in slightly to the muddied surface. His ears perked forwards slightly as he heard a distant russeling, his broad form falling slowly into a hunter’s crouch. With sure and silent movement, the warrior took two steps forwards before darting forwards into a batch of overgrown grass, disappearing from view. A few moments later revealed the tom once again, a plump vole between his jaws.

Risingstorm prowled through Shadowclan territory, looking around for prey, he quietly moved in the shadows. Soon a small mouse scampered almost across his paws, Risingstorm quickly lashed out, killing it instantly and thanking Starclan for it's life. He buried and headed for the Riverclan border.

LeafPaw ran into the territory her eyes were sparkling as the sun hit them, she stopped and waited for VinePool who was only a bit away, "You kept up well! Im usually faster then MaskPaw! he is so clumsy!" she meowed her ears twitching.
"So where do you wanna hunt? we could go to the lake or near the twoleg place or..."she trailed of thinking the place she had been before as a kit hopefully they would not run into that area, LeafPaw stared at her paws her eyes slowly looked at her leg she could still remember when that adder bit her it hadn't been poisonous but OwlBlossom had to drag and pull it off so the scar was always there, "Anyway!" The young molly straightened up.

Drawing to a stop from his little run he panted lightly as he listened to what the apprentice had to say. Ears perking he tilt his head to the side slightly saying softly towards the Molly" if it's okay for me to ask who is this Maskpaw? You seem to mention him alot and I'm just wondering who they may be.... Is he a sibling friend or....?" trailing off he felt a pang of guilt erupt in thenpit of his stomach. As he cleared his throat in discomfort. "I mean you don't need to answer that i totally understand! " he squeaked trying to save himself from the rudeness he protain towards the young apprentice. Drawing a pale tongue over his maw he sighed "and how about you decide where we shall go hm?:

Risingstorm stepped out of camp, heading quickly through his territory to the Riverclan border, stopping once as he sented a squirrel, he dropped into a hunting crouch, creeping up on the rodent slowly, careful to stay downwind he got within jumping distance and leapt upon the unsuspecting squirrel, sinking his jaws into it's neck, spitting in disgust at the metallic taste of blood, he then picked it up and carried it to the border.

@fenic!

There was a rustling as tiny paws stumbled about on the outskirts of ShadowClan territory. A scuffle, a tumble, a thump all occurred in rapid order, one after the other, followed by a squeaked 'oof.' There was silence for a while before a rustling began and a sudden grey head was poked from a bush. A small body stumbled from the bush and the kit finally gave up and sat, sniffing as frustration overcame her tiny body and she struggled to understand why she couldn't see. There was a sudden rush of anger and sadness that overcame the she-kit as words flooded her memory. Ugly, disgusting kit! You are a curse upon this family. Why do you always run into things, are you mouse-brained? Vermin, that's what you are! Leave me! Lift this family of your burden! A sniffle and a sudden wail escaped her, and that's how the gray kit sat in a small clearing. Wailing, but unable to cry. Tears would never fall for her.

Treading around the border quietly, Martenleap didn't like walking alone. It was something that made him feel awkward, like there was something watching him from the shadows on their territory, while he had let his guard down. There wasn't anyone to talk to or anyone to help, and he couldn't confide about his fears to anybody, not even Shrewcall- his one love, a cat he could really talk to about anything. Sure, the tom was shy, but he was also so lovely, kind, and brilliant. Shrew, I wish you were here right now- I just feel lonely. The warrior's ginger fur stood out among the darkened pine forest of Shadowclan, and as he walked, his paws left small prints in the boggy soil, cringing away for a second as he took his first few steps into the marsh. He didn't sink, but it scared him for just a moment- Why am I so scared? I'm never scared! -and then he jumped. A sudden movement left him startled, as he heard whimpering, and he tried to run away- though it sounded helpless. Like one of the kits from their nursery, maybe a wounded piece of prey. Tiptoeing into the small clearing, Martenleap's eyes widened as a small kitten sobbed, but didn't cry- she couldn't cry.

She has no eyes. "Are you alright?" He asked, trying to be theraputic towards the little kit, seeing how lost she was.

She has no eyes. "Are you alright?" He asked, trying to be theraputic towards the little kit, seeing how lost she was.

Startled as there was a sudden voice to her right, she shut up quickly and bristled, scrambling to her paws and baring her teeth, taking a few steps backwards and tripping over a stick, falling into a seated position and letting out a squeak of alarm. "No, I'm not alright!" She hissed after a moment, letting her frustration out but her tone sounded more as if she wanted to give up. "I don't know where my family is, not that I want to be with them, I've tripped over EVERYTHING in this weird place... I don't know where I am. I don't know why they hated me, why I was a disgrace... Am I really vermin, a curse?" She whimpered the last part as the hateful words her family threw at her rushed through her thoughts again and she flatted her ears, shaking her head violently. "They said I'm not normal and should die! I don't even know why!" She wanted him to explain. She wanted to know what made them hate her, so she could fix the mistake and make everything right with her family. She didn't know they abandoned her on purpose and disappeared.

Widening his eyes as the kit scrambled away, Martenleap tried to make his voice sound nicer, not trying to scare the strange cat away, the cat who didn't have eyes but could sense he was here- it made him just a little happier to have company, even if they were suspicious, even if they were troubled- he just wanted to help. "I'm not here to hurt you." He mumbled quietly, trying not to let his nerves insert themselves into his voice. Maybe if he tried to be nice, he could make a new friend today- and bring a new kitten into the clan, if she ended up not being able to find her family. Does she even want to find them? They sound like terrible cats. "Hey, they don't sound like family at all- family is supposed to support you. Family means nobody gets left behind." Me and Shrew are a family. She needs a family.

While she was suffering in silence, things were so much better for others. Granted she suffered, others didn't. It brought her a relief she didn't know would ever exist. Things can be better for her. "So... things are better here?" She questioned after a while of silence, "But... this isn't where I belong, is it? It smells so strange." Se wrinkled her nose to prove a point, the taste of ShadowClan burnt her tongue when she parted her jaws and she was forced to keep it shut unless speaking. "I wish I could live here... Where am I?"

[ QUOTE=Vermin;3909]A wave of embarrassment lapped in his blue eyes, forgetting what he said before that's a dead giveaway. Continuing their path, paw in front of the other as leaves crunch underneath his pads- the silver warrior didn't give an immediate response. "I was a city cat," he finally said. Instead of saying rogue or loner, he just stated 'city' hoping she doesn't know what that means. "Enough questions...we're here." Slipping a thicket, nude bushes scrapping along his fur the tom made it to the other side where there's a large clearing. This is a nice place to train, he commented, taking another look around for any signs of danger. He keeps forgetting how big the forest is and it always put him on edge. Coldtundra went around to properly scope out the area, sticking his nose in bushes and nose flaring to scent any fox or badgers. All clear, I guess. "Okay," the silver tom trotted back up to her and sat down, blue eyes focused on his apprentice. "You've probably seen how the other apprentices shown off their skills to the others. Show me a hunter's stance."
[/QUOTE]

The small molly frowned slightly as she listened to the toms answer. Unsure on what he meant by 'city' she tilt her head to the side. "What's a ci-" Hearing that her mentor didn't want any further questions she swallowed the rest of her question down growing rather quiet. Letting her gaze wander around the two she let a soft hum about her ears flickering as she heard the leaves crunch underneath. Letting out a restless sigh she looked back at Coldtundra she blinked "But I thought there was a....." trailing off from her sentence she sighed softly sinking her claws into the soft ground below her, her whiskers twitched as she kept her mouth shut, Hearing him say that she rolled her eyes crouching down in a slightly awkward stance she looked ahead of her. Her gaze rested on the outlines of the brushes that lay to rest in front of her. "So. How does it look?" She questioned see keeping her gaze else where.

She almost jumped as she heard the question, "No..he's not that..He's my brother well adopted brother we stayed together with the other kits in nursery, MaskPaw's Mom adopted me just before she went missing.." The Young Molly explained, gently hitting a rock with her paw looking up LeafPaw then said "I like hunting on the edge of forest there is a lot less tree's and easy to run through also a lot of prey run over there" Her brown and white tail twitched silently flipping a leaf over.

He wanted to help her, he wanted to make sure she was alright- she was so young, and he didn't want to leave her out here, especially if she couldn't find where her caretakers were. Chuckling as she wrinkled up her nose, obviously referring to the strong scent of pine forest which littered the area, though it had thinned now that they were out on the border. "The scent takes a bit of time getting used to, but it's absolutely lovely once you're here for awhile- pine sap, I think." Grinning, the jolly warrior's tail began to thin out, no longer scared of the sound that he knew was only a lost kit, trying to make her way in the world. "I can live here?! Really?!" She bounced to her paws, skipping in a circle before stumbling over her own paws and falling lat on her face with a small 'ooph.' This didn't damper her mood or hold her back, however, as she got to her paws quickly and stormed up to the tom warrior, tilting her head up to him. "I can have a new family here? Who are they? What's their names? Are they nice?" It was as if everything that haunted her before faded away, and it practically did for the spacey she-kit. Eventually she would forget about the cruelty she suffered her first three moons of life. All she would know is the joy of life with her new family. Of course, there would still be pain once she finally learns why she can't see, but for now she was clueless to the fact. "Let's go, then! I want to meet them!" She kneaded the ground with her tiny claws, unable to stay still and shifting about on her paws happily, her excitement obvious and not contained.

"Yeah- we'd be glad to have somebody here with us, y'know? You seem like a really smart kit." Why would anyone want to hurt you, to cast you out and deny you love like this? You're so happy, but it must hurt inside- I don't want to see you hurt. "Their names are Martenleap and Shrewcall, and they're the happiest, nicest, kindest cats in Shadowclan." Grinning to himself as he talked about him and his mate partially in the third person, enjoying the conversation with this kit. Seeing her small claws and the wide smile across her face, Martenleap's heart melted- she was absolutely adorable, and it was a shame she couldn't see- but she would be a great warrior, nonetheless. The kit's ears perked up as he spoke highly of the family that would take her in. "Their names are funny." She stated, tilting her head to the side and giving a wide grin to the tom that towered over her. As he asked her name, her features fell and she was quiet, turning her head away and staring into the distance, unsure what to reply with. Her name... what was it? "My fami- they called me Disgrace... My brothers didn't, just my parents and sisters." The painful memories overcame her again but as soon as the thought of being in a better place filtered through she perked up and everything was right with the world again, she didn't seem bothered at all. Why would she, when she was in the greatest family ever?

"...Oh, that's a terrible name." Martenleap sighed sympathetically, trying to comfort the young kitten quietly. That's a terrible family, I swear to Starclan- she's just a kit! Why would anyone do that, calling her a disgrace when she's barely three moons old. "I'm so sorry- you're in a better place now, I promise you. We don't do that here." His eyes suddenly lit up as he thought of a new name, though it had nothing to do with the she-kit's loss of sight- But how she found her family, how she was lost and then found again. "...How about Lostkit? Because you've gotten lost, and ended up here- the 'kit' part is just part of clan names- they sound really pretty, I promise 'ya."

The newly named Lostkit lifted her head towards Martenleap. If she had eyes she'd be squinting with confusion at the name he had suggested, but there would be so much excitement in the missing blue orbs. "Lostkit? The -kit part is weird, but I like weird! Hello, I'm Lostkit!" She reintroduced herself, smiling widely and innocently. Then she bounced around on her paws, looking every which way. "I want to go meet my family, now!" She exclaimed, starting to trudge off in the opposite direction of where they were supposed to go. It only took her a few paces before she tripped. It was a miracle she hadn't received an injury with how clumsy she was. Well, her being eyeless could be considered an injury of being a klutz, if she could convince anyone it was a horrible accident. When she finally learns the truth of her blindness. "Well, you've already met one half- I'm Martenleap, and it's nice to meet you... Lostkit." Getting up quickly from where he sat, having talked to the kitten, he made sure to drag his paws across the ground when he began to walk towards camp, so that she'd be able to hear his pawsteps clearly. "Just follow me to camp- I know it well, from having grown up in this place for so many moons. It's been my home for awhile, and I'm sure you'll love it." Looks like I'm adopting a kit- let's hope Shrewcall's cool with it. Oh, how Martenleap loved to make decisions on impulse, never really putting much thought into the idea more than emotion. It was a kit who needed a family, and obviously he had to help give her a home, right? She looked like she was freshly off milk as well, so that was a bonus. Shrew, I bet he loves kits! He's so sensitive and kind, I bet he'll be a great father for Lost- maybe we can even adopt more kits if we can, so she can have siblings! He was really getting into this 'adopting kits' thing- because Martenleap adored being able to take care of kittens.

Thistlesplash wasn't the best cat when it came to noticing the little things in life. Really, all she'd done was get lost in a pretty new place, and met a nice cat- who wouldn't want to talk to him? He was a bit blunt, surely, but the molly thought she could make a friend out of anyone, even the coldest cats- so he shouldn't be too hard. The Riverclan cat was spunky and energetic, willing to continue a conversation no matter how one-sided it got. Thistlesplash was more of a hopeless conversationalist than a hopeless romantic, but even she could see that this cat was really handsome- heck, even his voice sounded charming! "Well... everyone's gotten really boring back at Riverclan. They say the same things over and over again, and you're like a whole new opportunity- who wouldn't pass up a chance to talk to you?" Thistle never noticed logical things. She'd pass a fish swimming through the river and deem it a rock, and pass an invader right by with no question if she was already following a friend or two- but she did know a bit about emotion, and she was feeling like there was some sort of connection between them- maybe one-sided, maybe not.

"You're Martenleap? You're awesome! I'm glad you are my father! Shrewcall is going to be cool, too! Oh, I want to meet Shrewcall now!" Lostkit bounded after his dragging paws, ignoring the fact she had headed in a completely different direction. As he explained more on ShadowClan and how it has been his home for a while, she listened intently, eagerly downing the information. "Oh, this is going to be so great! I can't wait!" There was a skip in her step, which caused her to stumble over a rock and almost fall into the tom, but she managed to catch herself. "If I make it there alive, with all the stumbling I do!" She joked, laughing joyfully.

Ibispaw glanced over his shoulder a moment as he heard the sound of approaching pawsteps and to say in the least, he was a bit surprised to see that Stormpaw had decided to tag along considering that he had seemed overly bored of him, as well as made to feel awkward by him, but deciding not to make a comment on it, the black and white patched tom looked back ahead as they padded further into the territory, making sure that his pawsteps were heard so that any little creature could go scurrying off way before he and Stormpaw got to them, he didn't want to see any of them hurt, knowing full well that the other apprentice would likely want to hunt. I kind of wish he hadn't come... Thought the bob-tailed tom as the two trekked through the marshy territory, Ibispaws' yellow eyes glancing at the ground as he thought this. It's a lot nicer when I'm alone, then I don't have to worry about talking, or paying attention to the other cat, I can just walk with my thoughts. Glancing over at Stormpaw a moment, he cleared his throat and spoke. "S-So um, how old.. Are you again?" His voice was a bit shaky, a bit quiet, hardly making an echo in the marshy forest as they padded along. Ibispaw didn't recall asking the tom this before and decided that it might be a good.. Icebreaker? He's heard cats say that word when they were talking about statements that made other cats feel less awkward in conversation, things that sort of lightened the mood. Not that Ibispaw really cared about conversation at all, but he more or less wanted to seem polite, so that he wouldn't make another cat hate him. He couldn't stand up for himself and he'd rather not deal with another.. Another bully. Another mean cat. He didn't want to give himself a reason to hate other cats more than he already did.

Smiling as the newly-named Lostkit called him awesome, saying she was glad he'd be her father- Martenleap felt happy about his decision to stop by and find the little kitten, and as he noticed her going the wrong way, he took it lightly, just like her joke about getting back to Shadowclan alive and in one piece. "Hey, just follow my voice, alright? We're not too far away, and the scent gets stronger the closer you get to camp!" Should I tell Blazingnight about this? He thought about it for a second, thinking of the leader's harsh tone, though she wasn't too bad for the head of Shadowclan, a place that seemed to make Thunderclan kits shake in their paws at just the name. ...Probably not. If she asks about it, I'll just say that another queen had her and then died- that her mother was lost- just like she was. "Shrewcall's even nicer than me- he's the nicest cat I know when it comes to helping out kits like you."

"I can't wait to see camp, I bet it looks amazing!" She grinned up at him, her head actually aimed in the direction it should be, and then she turned it away to face forward as she marched on beside him. "Shrewcall sounds wonderful, and I can't believe he is nicer than you! Can a cat be this nice?" She questioned aloud, flattening her ears in thought for a few moments before she bounced right back into her excited, happy mood. "Like, how is it possible? I thought being nice was a rarity that cats only felt when good things happened to them, like enough prey to feed everyone for many days instead of one prey for the entire family. Or when you finally catch a break and are free of some burdens for a while, though it comes back and you are unhappy and mean again..." She drew off, falling silent before she turned her head towards Martenleap once more, showing her signature smile.

Stormpaw looked at Ibispaw as the other apprentice looked at him. The grey cat padded slightly behind his fellow apprentice as they hardly knew each other yet, and Stormpaw could sometimes feel quite awkward when having a normal chat with another apprentice. "Huh? Oh! I'm 6 moons. And you?" Stormpaw cast the patchy cat a strange look as he noticed his paw steps were louder than needed. "Are you alright?" The apprentice didn't really feel any concern for Ibispaw, as did he also not feel concern for any other cat, but the way this cat was acting was weird. Stormpaw was very curious as to why he was acting like so.

As soon as their eyes met, Ibispaw immediately looked away, his stump of a tail quivering with nervousness, he didn't enjoy eye-contact much, he always felt like other cats were trying to dig through and read his emotions, trying to read his thoughts, prying. And he felt like that in conversation too, or sometimes that the other cat just really didn't care at all and he was simply wasting breath in continuing the conversation, thus why he didn't enjoy speaking to others either. Overall he just didn't like being around others, he always saw the worst in cats, and really, Stormpaw hadn't changed his view in the slightest, but luckily enough he was good at hiding his opinions and views of other cats and how he felt about them, knowing that it would only make things worse, then well, no cat would like him.. Not.. That he would mind. It's complicated. "Oh I'm uh, 10 moons." His voice came out as a sort of resigned sigh, his gaze fixing back ahead. Ibispaw was looking forward to the day he would be given his warrior name, then the only time he would really have to be near others was during patrols, but he could go out hunting all by himself, walking, no one would question him.. It would be nice. Blinking at the other apprentice's question, Ibispaw's yellow gaze glanced over at Stormpaw for a moment before looking back ahead. "H-Huh? Oh.. Yeah, I'm fine.. Are you alright?" The question was empty, it was clear that Ibispaw wasn't much interested in the answer to it, and he wasn't trying to hide the fact either.

"Oh right..." he said in reply to how old the other cat was. The grey cat completely didn't realise that he was talking to a much older apprentice. Being bored, he didn't notice many things hat didn't matter when he finally had something to do. He didn't even care so much about the fact Ibispaw clearly wasn't interested in an answer to his question, but he couldn't help feeling annoyed at him slightly. Nonetheless, he replied anyway, "I'm fine, but you seem to be acting a bit weird which is why I asked..."

Teeth clicking as he continuously clenched his jaws together, relaxed them, and clenched again, the tail-less apprentice did not focus his gaze on the other apprentice, not now, and he likely wouldn't make much eye-contact with him in general. Flicking his ears in an almost sort of dismissive way, Ibispaw said nothing in response to Stormpaw's reply to his age. Really, the black and white apprentice really never thought about age, it was almost sort of irrelevant to him and it confused him when some cats seemed to rely on it heavily. What did it matter how old you were? Did it, for some reason you were more powerful? Did it mean you were better? Something to marvel at? He just couldn't understand other cats sometimes. Perhaps that's why he didn't like to be around other cats, they simply confused him to the point of making him angry or irritable. "Well I'm just a weird cat okay?" Meowed Ibispaw sharply, his yellow gaze flitting over to look at the other, both pain and anger flaring in his eyes like a confused fire before he looked back ahead, clenching his jaws shut tighter. It was very easy to hurt this apprentice, he always seemed to take things the wrong way, misinterpret things, make it seem like other cats were out to get him, to bully him, to put him down. Snorting, Ibispaw flattened his ears and began to pad a bit faster, no longer wanting to pad alongside the other apprentice, his head lowered slightly and his shoulders sagging a bit.

~for mirefern~

Clawpaw padded into the territory, the young apprentice flicking her tail in slight disgust as she did so. She was done with dealing with other cats, done with their ignorant personalities, all she wanted was absolute peace and quiet where she could at least be herself without being judged, or laughed at. The she cat flicked her ear as she heard the rustling of leaves, instinctively dropping into a hunting crouch that was near to perfect and smiling to herself at the way she had reacted. She was glad of it, merely because she prided herself on her hunting skills. Clawpaw slowly crept towards the source of the noise, suddenly stopping and giving a slight, sharp mew as she felt a sudden tug on her tail. She turned around to find it caught in a thorn bush, and she hissed angrily, muttering under her breath as she tugged, trying to pull it free of the thorns that were entangling it. When she could not succeed, the apprentice hissed once more...she would have liked to lash her tail in frustration, but it was currently stuck. Clawpaw thought for a moment, hoping that no other cats would come along...or if they did, that they would be smart enough and polite enough to help her instead of standing and looking at her or laughing like most idiots did. She waited, getting tired of standing and wishing that she could sit down, if not for the thorns that were keeping her from doing so.

(This is going to be short...)
"I don't really know anything much about you." Brief anger flared up in Stormpaw at how the other apprentice seemed to be reacting. What did I ever do to him!? Of course, being as young as he still was, with hardly any life experience, he didn't understand that it's just how some were and there was not really any changing that. As Ibispaw seemingly began quacking his pace, the grey cat had no idea what to do. Should he quicken his pace too, or just let the black and white apprentice go ahead? "Hey! Where you off too so quick?"

Risingstorm slowed as the distance from the border grew, he paused, it would be suspicious if he went back empty-pawed, I should get some prey, maybe there are a few mice around here. He lifted his nose into the air, scenting a squirrel almost instantly, It could have been right under my paws and I wouldn't have noticed it! Melodysong is beautiful but can't you take your mind off of her for one minute to do your warrior duties? Risingstorm shook his head as he berated himself. Then dropped int oa crouch and stalked up to the unsuspecting squirrel, his tail twitching in anticipation. He flashed out, hooking it's neck with his long sharp claws, flinging it up into the air, and pouncing on it when it landed. Satisfied, he turned and trotted to camp.

Standing beside Iceclaw, Thistlesplash's mottled fur rippled slightly in a few rogue breezes, not having realized that wind could be present in a forest territory like Shadowclan's as well, and completely ignoring the dangers of the land to focus on the beauty. She was a cat able to take risks, because she appreciated the result once they were done. She didn't know who he knew, who he thought wouldn't talk to him... because I know that I want to, and that this cat- he's really interesting. It's just that I want to know more about him, specifically him. He's a quest of my own, huh? A goal to complete, a task to figure out. I want to know more about you- Iceclaw. "...It's alright. Geckoleaf's quite the kind medicine cat, though she's quite young!" Grinning loudly, she didn't exactly like to focus on the negatives of life, though everyone in her clan had seemed quite down lately due to some of the deaths of the cats they admired most. As Iceclaw asked why she was comfortable here, however, her ears perked up, her blue eyes lighting up in excitement. "I... I like taking risks, and I like to visit new places, y'know- because everything has the capacity to be beautiful. If I confine myself to somewhere specific for too long, I get... bored, I guess. This place is lovely, and it's worth being caught to view it. It's not the same look you get when you're standing on the border.

Now that I think of it, I've heard that Marshsnow had been young when she first became a medicine cat as well, the tom thought, noting the coincidence - though they weren't connected. Iceclaw did notice how positive the molly was being, and wondered what it felt like to be that way. He had felt too much actually happiness ever since he left Eversong and their kits, which he's regretted ever since. And even before that it wasn't like Claw had been very father to him, but he had taught him to survive in a way that doesn't involve a lot of positivity. The black and white tom shook his head as he thought about Claw and even Eversong. He wish that there was a way to forget all that - he still wanted desperately to be with his first mate, whom he loved more than Shrew and did feel bad for what he was making Shrew go through; having him as a mate though he doesn't love her back, and then having his kits when he wasn't around to be with them. He hardly even tried to cheer her up when they lost two of their kits during the birth though he had never met them because Shrew told him about her pregnancy and had given birth while he was out. But Iceclaw didn't want to think about that either. He wished that he could start all over before everything seemed to fall apart. When the angora started to answer his question he perked his ears and looked at her. His ice blue orbs widened when she claimed that everything could be beautiful and it was worth getting caught. It was like the first time in their conversation he didn't see her as a cat from another cat, but rather someone that he actually could socialize with. Eversong was somewhat like that, having places just for the two of them that were nice and that she loves - but she never seemed at happy and care-free as Thistlesplash does and it was... refreshing. "Is a lot of cats from Riverclan like you?" He question, knowing that a lot of Shadowclan cats tended to be close-minded, a terrible stereotype that wasn't far from the truth.

Like always, Moonfang sat in the shadows, watching all the other warriors. Her gaze rested on Sheepface, and she tilted her head slightly. Moonfang's speed was remarkable but she never bragged. She never really spoke. Her orange eyes were the only things visible on her, for the black top of her pelt let her blend in with the shadows. She stepped out slowly, not making a sound. She was surprisingly light on her feet, despite her weakened paw. She sat down softly, and looked. "H-Hi..." she said softly. She had become a bit more open since the birth of her kits, but not in significance. "It's, uh, Sheepface, right?" she asked, trying to show no threatening pose. She wasn't the threatening type.

When Marbledface felt his tail graze her back she felt her own pelt react by tingling to the touch. It was strange receiving affection, or comfort rather, from a cat she barely knew. The mottled warrior barely understood comfort herself, she'd never received it from her mother and her father had been absent. How could you learn how to react to these thing when you had had none displayed to you. She wasn't sure whether to accept and bask in the warmth of the touch and the words he'd told her, that she could tell him anything, or whether to be uncomfortable and only get more distance between herself and him. She opted for the latter and arched her back slightly into his touch, and glanced over at him with eyes bearing relief. "Thank you." She said softly, and then as soon as the words were out his eyes shone with an intensity she often recognized in herself. The sort of fever a hunt brought out in a cat that liked to sink their claws into flesh. It wasn't a bad thing to want to do so, it was instinctual. It didn't make either of them a bad cat, or evil at all, simply made them the wild cats that they were. The challenge brought a confident smile to her maw and her tail flicked with excitement behind her. She sprang into action, her shoulder's soreness long gone and replaced with adrenaline. "Better move fast if you don't want to lose!" She said before springing into action and leaping ahead of him and veering to the right, deep into the marshy territory in hopes of finding an easily catchable frog. Suspiciousmindz

Heading out of the camp, Shrew made sure to be the lead. Despite not knowing the territory all that well, she didn't want to seem incompetent during their hunt. What's up this this guy anyway? She thought, unsheathing her claws as they walk. Why does he think he can just ask about my personal life like that? He has nothing to do with me and Iceclaw and shouldn't try to find a way to pry on that matter, and it upset her that he seemed to think he has some kind of right to know everything about her. Shrew stiffened slightly. She realized that this might just be because he had a lack of trust towards her. If that's the case, than he should just say it out right, not hit my nerves. The pale tabby suddenly stopped as she realized that she didn't know where they were - but of course she wouldn't, she hardly went onto the territory. "Uhh... we should hunt around here," the unsure molly turned towards him, trying to act like she knew what she was doing though she really didn't.

Tigergrowl let Shrew lead but was upset when she didn't know where she was going. "Hunt here? Fine if you think so," he was hoping that this would make her question her decision. Tigergrowl didn't hate her since he didn't know her, but he did want her to know that she wasn't born here and knew nothing about Shadowclan. "We'll split up and hunt separately," he said and then disappeared into the bushes.

Her ears flattened when he said 'if you say so'. She had to urge to either snap at him or ask if something was wrong with this area - but she held her tongue and didn't want to show how little she knew what she was doing. "Yeah, here," she stood a bit taller as if to show that she had faith in her decisions... though she had none. When he stated that they split up, she was ready to tell him that she was in charge despite the fact that neither of them really was, but was too late when he already disappeared. "Whatever," she muttered. Shrew quickly started to head the other way, wanting to catch more prey than him in order to shove it in his nose. Shrew was determined to prove to the warrior that she was good enough for Shadowclan, and then no one would question her past anymore.

She halted after she got some distance and looked around for any kind of prey. The molly was sick of this territory. Ice really seemed to forget to add the whole thing about the marsh and how everything is all muddy, she thought with flattened ears. She heard a rustle and turned towards the sound. She remembered what she had learned while living on her own and dropped into a hunter's crouch. As she approached, her amber orbs fell upon a squirrel. It was a bit scrawny compared at the size of then in New-Leaf and Green-Leaf, but it would do nonetheless. The tabby wiggled her hunches before leaping at it. "Caught ya!" She called when she landed on the grey creature and quickly finished it off. There seemed to be a look of pride on the molly as she held her catch in her jaws.

Burrpaw paced back and forth. He knew he should be sitting still, listening to Swiftfang, but he just couldn’t. He still kept his ears pricked, listening for instructions. The brown tabby apprentice stared at the stone he was pushing ahead of his paws, the smoth grey surface the exact opposite of his matted fur. As his name implied, burrs and leaves were stuck in the tangled mess of fur.

Swiftfang paced around like a dictator, marching with his Siamese-pelted paws to and fro. With each step, there was a hint of aggression. The leaves crackled and was immediately smushed with each and every footstep the tom made. After a while, the mentor abruptly stopped. His cold bluish green eyes hit his apprentice, and his head raised higher. "We need to do some hunting." The tom began, drawing his paw into the marshy ground.
"First, we will start off simple. A frog'll do, I guess, since we're forced into eating them every day." His eyes narrowed as he concentrated on his apprentice carefully.

Burrpaw stopped pacing and looked up. His tail fell a bit when he realized what his mentor said. I hate frogs! he thought to himself, but said nothing to his mentor about it. "Yes Swiftfang," his normally cheerful and honey-smooth voice was a bit lower, a bit less joyful. Why did it have to be a frog? The messy-furred apprentice stalked away through the marshy territory, scenting the air evey few steps and watching the few stalks of grass for movement. Finally, he scented the frog and dropped into the best crouch he could do at that moment. Unfortunately it wasn't a correct hunting crouch and probably wouldn't put enough power into Burrpaw's pounce. His paws were stretched a bit too far ahead of him and his backside was in the air a bit. He looked more like he was stretching than attempting to catch his prey.

"That was hunting?" The warrior said, flicking his tail in bitter disappointment. "That was how you go and catch a frog?" He padded up to Burrpaw, not caring about the crunching of leaves under his paw. "Do I need to show you how to hunt again? Are you a kit, or deaf?" His ears were perked up in dominance, and his face was solemn. "Do it again." He snarled, unsheathing his sharp piercing claws. "And be quick about it too. Nobody likes a slow apprentice." His tail flicked, and his eyes burned with great disappointment.

The Bengal let out a playful purr as he watched the she cat bound off in search for prey. Choosing carefully, he swerved away from her path a bit and instead stayed just outside the center of the territory where it was less boggy. He decides that perhaps more prey would be located away from all the water. Maybe he would be able to find a lizard or a squirrel. A squirrel this late into the season would be a blessing.
Jaguarclaw padded swiftly through the undergrowth, pausing every once in a while to agent the air. Nothing so far. Anxiety pricked at his paws. Marbledface could have easily caught something by now. The warriors pace increased until the sudden scent of a blackbird caught his attention. "This should be easy... I can still beat her" he murmured, dropping low to the ground pin pointing the bird at the base of a pine tree. It was distracted so the Tom cat silently crept up on it until he thought he was close enough to strike.
So intent on his catch, he didn't notice the sudden softness of the ground beneath him before his paw with the most weight balanced on it sank into the ground up to just below his knee. He let out a hiss of surprise alerting the black bird and causing it to let out an alarm and disappear into the sky. It happened in heartbeats. Jaguarclaw tried to free his leg but his other forepaw sank in his efforts. Frustrated, the tom stood funny, being half stuck in the mud. He froze, debating whether to push down on his hind legs or not. He feared he might become more stuck.

Even so, Swift wasn't surprised or even grateful for the catch. He ignored the apprentice's second remark, and directed his thoughts towards the first one: "'Out of practice' means that you have to do it more," he growled. Swiftfang stared at the squirrel that Burrpaw caught, nodding his head a bit at the catch. "Better." The tom said solemnly. "Could be better, but it'll do." The ShadowClan warrior flicked his head towards the direction of ThunderClan territory. "But remember, squirrels are generally ThunderClan prey. We don't find them on our side of the border much, due to our land." He spat, bracing himself. Even though he was a ShadowClanner, and was quite loyal to his homeplace, he couldn't help but feel annoyance. Why did his clan get the worst part of the territory, forced to hunt in this marshy area filled with less prey? He'd never remark his thoughts to Burrpaw, but these things always rang in his head when he went hunting. This was another reason that fueled the way he disliked StarClan; surely if they were actually so great they'd do something to help them. But no. Anyways, if StarClan was really so helpful, then why was his leader Blazingnight? He smiled inwardly at these thoughts, but his outward appearance was still solemn.

The tom paused. "Hunt some more. We're not done yet." He said, straining his neck upwards and gazing throughout the marshy land. "I'll be watching you; go and hunt a vole and a lizard as fast as you can. Now." His blue eyes were then fixed upon Burrpaw in slight annoyance. He had to pick up the pace a little bit.

"Yes Swiftfang!" Burrpaw quickly buried the squirrel next to the frog and bounded off through the marshy territory, but keeping silent on the squishy ground. What if he's giving me an assessment? Burrpaw hoped Swiftfang was. The brown tom really wanted to become a warrior quickly. Perhaps he'd set a new record in ShadowClan! But for now, he thought, crouching down and peering through a crack in a rock to try and find a lizard, I have to hunt and train. A tiny golden eye greeted him and Burrpaw reached a small claw through the crack in the rock. He hooked the scaly animal on his claw and dragged it out, the creature already dead from the point of his claw. He buried the prey to come back and get, and leaped off, searching for a vole. He found the small animal sniffing in the grass, eating a seed. Burrpaw dropped into a hunter's crouch and caught the animal quickly. Unfortunately it wasn't a completely clean kill. A small bit of blood was in the fur where he bit the animal. Oops. I hope Swiftfang doesn't notice! Burrpaw looked at it, seeing that it wasn't really visible and picked it up. He padded back to where he had left his mentor, collecting the lizard on the way there. Then he sat down to wait.

Frogkit bobbed up and down, his paws reaching out. Coughing, he cried out loudly, as his slammed into a rock. He coughed more, getting swept slower and slower. He passed out, his body dragging across the riverbed. He slowly came to a stop. The water was very shallow, and his head rested above water.

Mulberrykit's short legs were getting tired, but she ran on. I can't leave him! He's my friend! When the river became shallower and Frogkit finally stopped floating downriver she was relieved, and stopped on the bank, panting. "Frogkir! Frogkit, can you hear me?" Not waiting for a reply, she slowly waded into the river. Her brown and red pelt got soaked as she moved in the water, and she squealed at its cold, cold touch. "I'm coming, Frogkit!"

Mulberrykit was soon up to her shoulders in water, and she still wasn't close enough to reach Frogkit. How long can he hold on for? I can't reach him, or pull him out! She knew she'd never be able to get him out of the splashing current on her own, and she desperately looked around. Pine trees... leaves... dirt... sticks... wait! Mulberrykit glanced around, hoping to find a stick she could carry. When she did she splashed out of the water and grabbed it in her jaws, pulling it towards her friend. "Frogkit! If you can hear me, grab onto the stick!"

Swiftfang nodded as Burrpaw began hunting the lizard, and then the vole. It wasn't bad hunting skills, but they could be improved slightly with moons of repetitive practice. After all, that was the point of today's lesson. To keep practicing, more and more, until he was ready to become a warrior.
Burrpaw wasn't ready for that yet, and this wasn't his hunting assessment. He'd have those in a few moons from now, once his skills were all down pat. Fine tuning here and there would help adjust this, and by the time he was near-perfect in his skills, he would be a warrior and Swift's job was finished.
The tom nodded his head and checked over Burrpaw's work. "Better. You still need help hunting frogs, and we should try those again tomorrow. But the lizard and vole are better." He said, slightly satisfied. "Leaf-bare's coming up soon, so we'll see how you catch prey when the weather turns cooler and the prey gets skimpier. It'll be more of a challenge, which will test how good your hunting really is."
He paused for a second. "I think I should give you a choice now. Do you wish to continue hunting, or pursue fighting training? Either is fine."

Tigergrowl kept his eyes open for any prey that might be around him. He thought abut Shrew and hoped that she was doing terrible. He kind of felt bad for wanting her to fail but he didn't like to lose. Tigergrowl looked up when he heard a frog croaking and smiled as he readied himself to get it. He crouched down and waited to make sure that he knew the frog was there. He leaped forwards and pinned it down before it could try to hop away from him. He smiled when he killed the slippery creature and buried it to retrieve later.

After hiding her fresh-kill so she can set out in search for another prey. The tabby scanned the area, but knew that the prey around would've been warned of the hunter when she went after the squirrel. The molly just sighed and knew that she'd have to stray a bit from her current location, but also didn't want to lose her squirrel so she didn't go far. It didn't take too long for Shrew to find another squirrel, and smirked as she believed that Tigergrowl would have less fresh-kill than her at the end of their little hunt. Shrew crouched down and hesitated before moving forward. It took only a few steps for her to mess up - her paw cracking a twig beneath it. "Dung!" She hissed and glanced down at the twig under her paw, then glanced up to see the squirrel's tail disappearing through the branches.

She growled and lashed her tail, knowing that this meant she had to travel a bit farther now in order to find some more prey. Instead of heading in the same direction she was walking this whole time, she decided to head back in the direct where she and Tigergrowl had split up. Shrew didn't go far enough to actually end up where they departed and stopped to see if any prey was around that she could possibly catch. The pale brown molly moved more carefully this time, crouching down and watching her steps as not to scare off any more prey. Shrew hissed again - this time it was due to stepping in the marshy areas, hating the feeling of it getting between her toes. But she then froze when she saw a lizard. The former loner smirked again, stalking up to the scaly creature, readying herself and then leaped out of the marsh and onto her prey. But right before Shrew could kill it, the lizard was able to squirm out of her grasp and disappeared into the water similar to the squirrel in the tree.

He looked taken aback when Thistlesplash stated that she liked Geckoleaf, and believed the young medicine cat to be kind.

Swiftfang braced his jaws as the apprentice spoke, but he finally gave in to his desires. "Fine; we could stop by the fresh-kill pile for a moment to drop off the prey.
(Sorry if its not as good as I normally post xD mobile messes me up)

It didn't take the molly long to find what she had come for. Frogs in leaf fall were dumb and numb with cold. They sat at the marsh's edge in the sun, trying to heat themselves a little bit longer before they burrow deep into the mud to survive the leaf bare. Sure they weren't the tastiest prey, but that's not what the competition was about it was about the fastest kill. Within five minutes the mottled warrior had a plump bullfrog in her jaws and trotted triumphantly back to the spot she'd last seen Jaguarclaw. Though he was nowhere to be seen so she followed his trail. She wasn't worried until she got within sight of him, his legs caught deep in the muck that made up the majority of their clan's territory. She dropped the frog at the base of a nearby pine, taking no more than a second to scrape one paw's worth of needles over the kill before rushing to the tom's side. She wasn't teasing or malicious in her look, she was actually concerned. It was uncommon but it did happen that cats got seriously stuck and required more than one injured molly to pull them free. "Are you stuck?" she asked, getting a little close, but not enough so reach him yet.

"Maybe that's because I prefer to be alone." She hadn't meant to snap at him, but she sometimes could have a short temper. Redmoon instantly felt bad. "Sorry, but as you can see, that's why." He noted one kit on the ground, lying still, with another besides it. His ears picked up in concern, and he raised a paw hesitantly in the laying kit's direction. It's so still... is it even alive? He vaguely heard Redmoon question the kit about what happened. All he cared about was the small movement in the still kit's chest, telling him it was still alive. What do I do? He felt helpless, watching the kit lay there, knowing it needed help yet not knowing exactly what to do. He decided to stay still, not trusting himself to stay calm and afraid of making the situation worse if he did anything.

Pinestorm rushed forward, helping her grab the kit. Glancing down at the second kit, he muttered, "Follow us back to camp, little one." Meeting Redmoon's eyes, he was sure he looked panicked, and he tried to calm himself. "Let's go, if he gets too heavy we can put him on my back."
"Oh thank you, thank you!" Mulberrykit was glad someone had finally come to help them. "Frogkit fell into the river and floated down here and I followed him and then I had to use a stick and pull him out and -" She gasped for breath. "Then he stopped moving and I didn't know what to do because I'd opened his mouth but he didn't start breathing and then you came, so thank you!" Redmoon set down Frog kit for a second. He was getting heavy. She crouched beside him, very low down. "Pinestorm, could you put Frogkit over my back? It'll be easier to carry him, and we can get to camp much faster. And Mulberrykit could ride on your back?" She said, her eyes full of concern for Frogkit. "His mother must be very worried, and yours too." She told Mulberrykit. She remained still, but her paws itsched to be moving again. She couldn't bear to see a kit die.

Redmoon stood up with Frogkit limp on her back. "Let's go!" She meowed, then set off running, but careful that Frogkit didn't slip off or get snagged on some thorns or low branches. Her paws thudded rhythmically against the soft pine needles, and her head was low. Her tail streamed out behind her, while sunlight dappled her tortoiseshell fur. She ran swiftly, though not as swiftly as she would've if she hadn't been carrying a kit on her back.

Pinestorm nodded after shoving frogkit onto Redmoon's back. Yes, hop on my back and hold on tightly. Use your claws if you have to, but we have to get back as fast as possible." Seeing Redmon dart off, he turned to the kit. "Quickly, please."

He ran cautiously at first, afraid Mulberrykit would fall, but when he felt her sharp claws tightly gripping his shoulders he felt more confident and pushed faster in order to catch up to the cats ahead. As he drew closer and closer, his gaze focused on the limp form of Frogkit on Redmoon's back. "I hope he'll be ok," he huffed under his breath. He turned his head to glance back at Mulberrykit, who seemed to be enjoying the ride. "Look, if you promise not to sneak out again, I'll give you a badger ride whenever you want, alright?"

"Yes, whenever you want. You have to promise though," He meowed sternly, concern glittering in his eyes. Redmoon slowed her pace and looked at Pinestorm. "I'm fine." She replied, matching his pace step for step. She yawned, which kind of countered what she'd just said, but it'd been a long day. Ivyshade gritted her teeth as she kept her eyes glued on a mouse that was busy washing it's whiskers by a murky puddle. She crept forward slowly until she was within leaping distance, black ears flat against her head. Suddenly the mouse looked up, startled by some stray scent or sound. Ivyshade flashed forward desperately reaching for the brown rodent but missed and fell into the puddle instead. She scrambled to her paws hurriedly but the mouse had vanished into the marsh with no trace. Hissing irritably Ivyshade shook most of the water off her pelt and began to stalk away into the pines.

Jaguarclaw simply waited for someone to find him. He didn't want to risk his hind legs sinking and causing things to be way worse. The mud was icy now, sending shivers down his spine and causing his fur to bush out slightly to hold warmth in.

Finally, movement caught the corner of his green hues and his head turned to see it was Marbledface. Relief flooded his gaze, but that was shortly followed by embarrassment. His ears felt hot, but he didn't let her see that. He could see the concern written all over her face. The Bengals tail swished a few times, partially gesturing for her not to draw closer in case she sank. "No, I decided to take a mud bath," he replied with a forced teasing tone to lighten the mood.

As much as he wanted to lighten the mood, slight terror reached over him. This was his worst fear. Sinking into the ground or simply being buried alive. Jaguarclaw wiggled his forepaws a little more. The muck didn't let his paws budge. "Disadvantages of Marsh lands," he commented, unsure of what to do. He didn't want Marbledfave to sink, although it was obvious he needed help now. "Are you light enough that the ground will hold you?" He asked. The Bengals size and weight was probably the main cause of this incident.

Willowpaw dashed out of the entrance of the camp, his black fur brushed by the wind and his steps doing squishy noises as he ran through the swapland, and looked behind him. Maplepaw was a little way behind, thanks to his feint back in the camp clearing, but he wasn't going to stop there. He had to not underestimate her if he wanted to win this race. He kept running, panting as he took long strides in the swamplands and heading to their destination near the windclan border. Willowpaw had endurance, but running in straight line wasn't as easy, because of all the things in the way: bushes, logs, rocks, sandpits, etc. He did his best to keep his advance on maplepaw and win the race to the tunnels. He couldn't help escaping a curse when he slipped in the mud and almost fell face first into it. He still found this situation funny, even if it meant failing in front of maplepaw. Maybe he was too competitive about this, but that was just his natural. He smirked at the image of maplepaw laughing at him if he fell, after trying so hard to get those few tail lenghts of advance.

Frostedflight padded back ffrom Seastones, rubbing himself on the trees to take the RiverClan scent off. He found himself torn. Rainberry was the most beautiful she-cat he had ever seen. The other she-cats in ShadowClan had no chance against her. But Rainberry was from another Clan, probably had a mate already. Still, though, there was a chance he had with her. Frostedflight sidestepped a large patch of mud. Perhaps he could make her laugh. Surely a beautiful cat would have a beautiful laugh. The black and white tom caught a mouse on his way back as an excuse as to why he was gone so long. He looked down, shame burning on his face. Leafbare was coming and the Clan needed more prey, and he gives a plump thrush to a RiverClan cat?! Frostedflight cursed himself for being so stupid. That must have been why she didn't eat it! She didn't want to get in trouble. His large paws hit the ground on the way into camp, his mind so caught up in its thoughts to notice that he was where he wanted to be.

Clawpaw's wishes are dashed when Raccoonpaw slinks into her area, his belly against the floor; the sharp mew doesn't catch his attention initially, something easily disregarded and ignored in his pursuit of the rodent he'd spied earlier -- a weak and mangy excuse for a creature, cuterebra squirming just below the expanse of mounding skin. Truth be, he’s hardly a decent hunter -- he instead searches purposely for ill prey to bring back to the fresh kill pile. He figures something so pathetic is still better than nothing at all, and if he’s questioned on it? He’ll blame his brother.

Naturally, the longer Clawpaw’s distress lasts, the harder it grows to ignore.

Irritated by the interruption, he forgoes completing his hunt in favor of searching for the other cat. It takes less than a few minutes to locate her, tangled up in the underbrush, thorns pressing into fine fur. Briefly, he finds himself wondering if she’s been injured -- a quick draw of the scent around the area reveals hints of copper, which he takes as a ‘perhaps’.

“You look like you could use some help,” he teases, circling the caught she-cat. “---Clawpaw, right?”

Traveling Light lead way, how far still? The question lingered in the traveling tom's head, his emerald eyes resting upon the darkening skies still stained by the long orange pelt of the setting sun. Shaking his head to even shaking his entire form, he put a paw forward and started again his way where the light had streaked to the night before. He has been following the parting Lights for almost three moons.

The tom came to a stop as his stomach let out a rumbling groan. When was the last he ate? It was the morning before last, how could he not think of finding prey? Pushing the thought away he focused, taking in a deep breath for scents, ears perked up to catch sounds on the encroaching silence. "Mouse..." He dropped into a crouch, lightly pressing his great paws on the ground as he followed the scent.

His sense of smell was tempted by another smell though it was stale, it almost smelled of another cat. He ignored it as he slinked towards the mouse, finally catching sight of it. He readied for pounce, focusing solely on it.

Ivythorn let out a quiet sigh. She didn't want to go back to camp, but knew she'd have to eventually, lest the other cats, who were supposed to be her clanmates, would have quite the field day with her. Instead of heading back, however, she found herself at the border of her clan's territory. Strange, how she could hardly smell her clan on this border. She started marking it when she got a whiff of another cat.

This cat wasn't a clan cat, though she didn't let her guard down so easily. It was probably much stronger than her, but where her lack in strength was, her ability in speed and maneuverability came into play. She crouched low, following the drifting scent until she found the cat it belonged to.

She was right to assume he'd be stronger than her, seeing as he was well-muscled. Oh well, she'd just have to use her other attributes to beat him if he wanted trouble. He seemed to just be hungry, though he was dangerously close to the Shadowclan border. Maybe he was friendly, and she could simply warn him not to get much closer, lest her clanmates tear him to shreds? Well, all she could do was try, right? Besides, all that muscle would surely way him down enough to where she could get away if needed.

Ivythorn stepped out of the bushes calmly, and cleared her throat to get his attention. "You there, who are you and what do you want with Shadowclan?" she asked, trying to sound menacing but failing. Her voice was too shaky and high pitched for that. "I, uh, are you," she paused, searching for the right word, "friendly?" Great Starclan she hadn't used that word in a while.

Ivythorn stepped out of the bushes calmly and cleared her throat to get his attention. "You there, who are you and what do you want with Shadowclan?" she asked, trying to sound menacing but failing. Mouse not know... The energy built into his legs as prepared to pounce. The sudden voice, high pitched and questioning interrupted his focus, his ears flicking as the loner twisted about to find the speaker. The emerald gaze made a quick scan of the direction before locking onto a cat.

He held a stare onto her, a long one of silence as he took in observation. Other cat only question...no strike. Mew shaken...not all heart in it. Cat not threat. His thoughts moved his claws to sheath, or at least as much as they could, a decent length still exposed as he released the tension he was building for the mouse, relaxing his form as he sat down with his long, fluffy tail to lay out to the side.

"This one Bane of Hunters. This one hunting." the mew of tom was very deep and sounded heavy of struggle as if speaking was difficult for him to do.

He answered her first question and proceeded to the next one, "This one no harm to no threat. ...This one...friendly." He knew the word, it was used several times in his journey, but he knew how he looked with a pelt riddled of claw scars and bites on a dwarfing frame.

"Well, Bane of Hunters, I must ask you not to come any closer to the Shadowclan territory. My clanmates, they may not take as well as I do to strangers," she said, hoping he'd not be completely upset at her about interrupting his hunting to say that. She sat down as well, though her trusting nature made her relax much easier than it seemed the tom was.

"Where are you from, Bane of Hunters?" she asked. She had never heard of a name like that before. It was, interesting to say the least, and honestly, quite menacing a name indeed. She sniffed around, but failed to catch scent of any of her clanmates.

'Thank Starclan, I wouldn't have been able to fend off both a patrol and this male should they start to attack him for being so close to the border,' she thought. Maybe, just maybe, this cat and her could be friends? No, that's mousebrain speak. However, the Warrior Code says you can have friends not in your clan, as long as your loyalty to your clan overrides that friendship. So... Maybe?

Mistgaze cocked his head towards her, a little disbelieved. How could she not know him? Was he so much into the shadows withing his clan? That was actualy convenient. "Uhh ... Mistgaze? Your clanmate? I know we never talked much but at least you must have heard of me somewhere. At some point." he meowed, a bit rubbed against. He picked up the lightest pieces of preys, but took one more than her, and started heading to camp.

"I don't really stay in the camp much, or talk with our clanmates." Nightmoon said, catching up with the tom. "I'm more of a loner in the clan." She was brought back to her thoughts. A light ginger tabby tom was standing in front of her. "I'll miss you.." The ginger tom had told her."I'll miss you too, I'll try to make time to see you sometime soon." Then she was cut off by some of her clanmates nearby. "I have to go. Bye Stone." She nuzzled the tom then ran off toward camp. That was the last time she saw her mate. Nightmoon was brought back to the real world when her tail hit a twig. "That was the last time I saw him, and I never saw him again." She murmured, trying to hold back small tears.

Mistgaze could hear the she-cat mumbling or murmuring behind him. "Say what now?" he asked boldly. He didn't like being talked in his back, if that's what it was anyway. He wanted to see if she dared tell him whatever she just probably cursed to him. Did she just mention a mate? He didn't recon her having one in shadowclan. And what about being a loner or something? This was getting more and more strange to him. He picked up his preys and signaled to her to do the same. He wanted this job to be done with before sunset, wich was comming rather quickly. He didn't want to miss any ceremonies or meeting in the clan if there was any, knowing it was the time when they usualy took place.

"Nothing." She picked up the prey and followed Mistgaze back to camp. "And if you were thinking about me being one of those cats that talk behind someone's back, I'm not that cat." Nightmoon glanced up at the sky. Getting darker every second. She still was thinking about Stone, and if they were ever going to meet again. I still don't know when it's the right time to tell my kits about their father. She was still mumbling to herself parts of her thoughts.

Clawpaw's expression darkened visibly as she glared at the tom circling her. "No, I don't need any help, I'm just sitting here for my health," She mewed sarcastically, her eyes narrowing at him. "Correct. I assume you've heard of me- either that or you're some stalker." She said. With another effort, Clawpaw attempted to pull her tail out of the thorns and stopped with a hiss of pain as they pricked through her fur. "Well are you going to help me, or are you going to stand there like a mouse-brained idiot?" She asked, her sides heaving a little with frustration and the effort of trying to pull her tail free. She was already wondering about this cat- if her first impression had been correct, she wasn't going to receive any help from him. And as her first impressions were usually correct, she would have been exceedingly surprised if he had bothered to try and help her at all. In fact, she would have been exceedingly surprised if he had done anything other than mock her distress. Although she honestly couldn't have cared less. After all, who cared what this cat thought of her? I know who I am. She thought to herself with a pleased expression, although looking at her at the moment, it was hard to tell what she would have been pleased about.

Then he realised that the father probably wasn't in the clan, otherwise he would have spent time with his kits and her mate, wouldn't he? That was interesting, and probably could turn out usefull at some point. "How are your kits doing?" he mumbled through his preys. He knew he was going to hit a sensitive spot right there, and definitely make her react.

Nightmoon's voice got softer. "I don't know if the would trust me ever again if I told them something." She looked behind her, making sure nobody was following them. If she told some cat her secret, then it should be a secret between her and that cat. Not told to the whole clan.

"Oh, no, you're right. I'm a stalker. I mean, maybe I have some weird thing for you? That's gotta be the case, 'cause I sincerely doubt anyone'd be talking about you around the clan." He snipes, slanting those dark eyes up at her. He ceases in his circling only to consider his options. Sure, he could let her down now, but where’s the fun in that? Another two circles are completed, he wonders if she grows dizzy as he moves. He then settles down, surprisingly neatly, and flashes her a crooked grin.

“What’s in it for me?” A wager. His whiskers twitch. He meets her pleased look with his own smug look, before it dissolves into one of mild discomfort -- something he’s quick to try and mask.

“...Uh, that’s a weird face you’re pullin’.”

She smiled back at him, a spark of something close to respect flashing in them. Oh, I'm having so much fun with this. I could have so much more if I weren't stuck in these stupid bushes...She thinks, wondering if she should try to pull her tail out again. "What's in it for you? Oh gee, I don't know...how about helping your clanmate who is stuck in these stupid thorn bushes?" She asked, all traces of amusement disappearing from her expression and fading to anger. It's beginning to get more frustrating, especially as she knows that it wouldn't take that long for him to help her. She felt an odd sense of satisfaction as his smug expression faded to one of discomfort. It was slight, yes, but it was there all the same. "No! Really?" She asked, her voice dripping with sarcasm. She pulled a surprised expression, her blue hues fixed on him and widening until they were huge. Bigger than she had thought she could make them. She kept her gaze fixed on Badgerpaw even as the size of her hues became smaller and she gave another desperate tug to her tail. Once again the thorns scratched it and this time she gave a wince of pain, muttering to herself about 'stupid thorn bushes' and how Badgerpaw 'really wasn't helping.'

Bumbleleap bounced forward, my mate is going to have kits! I'll make sure they all stay safe and I'll start that by getting Maplefall some prey! He quickly spotted a small vole. As silent as a mouse he sneaked slightly forward and then took a massive leap catching the terrified vole. He then berried it underneath a massive tree. He walked forward some more but then a terrible smell hit his nose. The acrid stench of burning wood. At first he thought about screaming for help but then decided to climb a tree to get a good idea of where the flames were. He sped up the tree with urgency until he got to the top and realised it was in thunderclan territory. We're lucky it's not in our territory, but I still feel bad for thunderclan, hopefully the fire dies quickly.

This clouded his thoughts as he tried to pounce on a lizard. He missed but began chasing it . He aventualy caught it. But he could not get wolfheart out of his head. And so,he silently carried the lizard to the fresh pray pile in camp.

Clawpaw's blue hues narrowed until they were almost slitted. She unsheathed her claws, digging them angrily into the dirt and feeling slightly better as she did so. "Fine. If you're going to be like that, I'll figure it out myself. So you can enjoy the show." Clawpaw mewed, tugging on her tail one last time. With a final effort, she yanked it loose, giving a startled and pained mew as she did so. The thorns had left scratches all along her tail. They weren't deep; but they were there. "Ha! Did it myself. I hope you enjoyed the show, and now I will bid you good day- unless of course, you're going to stalk me," She said, triumph fading to mischief as she did so. Her tail hurt. She twisted her head around to look at the scratches.

Her expression darkened quite a bit and she sighed. "So, my little admirer, are you going to tag along?" She asked, raising her blue hues to meet his gaze again. How come he seemed so nervous every time she did that? What was wrong with her eyes...she had always been under the impression that they were kinda pretty. But of course, it would appear that not everyone thought the same way. "Oh, and I have a problem here...you know my name, but I don't know yours. So unless you want to be mysterious and creepy, I think it might be nice if I knew it." Clawpaw mewed. Her blue hues were no longer narrowed, and she glanced away from him.

Redmoon sighed, catching her breath. Once she'd exited the medicine den she'd run. Suddenly a scent washed over her and she stiffened, her eyes narrowing. It was ShadowClan scent, which seemed rather unsuspicious, but Redmoon bared her fangs. She knew this tom all too well, and she was not pleased to see him as the pale tabby figure stepped out of the bushes. She took a step back, her teeth bared and claws unsheathed.

“So, you've guessed?” Redpool sneered, taking a few more steps closer, rising to his full hight, snarling as he advanced on the tortoiseshell molly. Menace gleamed in his pale yellow hues, and he leaped, claws outstretched. He yowled, sinking his claws into her throat.

Redmoon struggled feebly against the massive tom, but it was no use. She collapsed on the ground, barely breathing as he released her. “You will... die....” she panted, her chest barely rising and falling as blood poured out of the wound. “And... my death... will not be... for nothing....” she hissed, all her strength gone as she lay on the soft pine needles, glad that she'd died a warriors' death after all, though she was sad it was so soon. She'd never had the chance to have a mate or kits. She looked up at Redpool, her eyes growing dull. “You're a fool.” she sighed, then lay completely still, all the life gone.

Redpool looked down at the dead molly, her blood staining his paws. Her final words rang in his ears. You're a fool. He sneered at her dead body. “No. You were the fool.” he hissed, then turned and headed away to clean the blood from his fur, not wanting to give away the evidence that he'd killed her.

"Hopefully the fire doesn't get to other clan territories." Nightmoon said. "If it does then we all might have to leave and move to somewhere new." As she watched the smoke in the air, it reminded her of the nursery tales she was told. Firestar, Bluestar, and all of the other cats in the giant fire in Thunderclan. The same as now. She thought.

So... Maybe?

Emerald eyes looked over the cat, the tone was soft...sweet on his ears that caused one to flick from the odd touch of the words. The loner flicked his tail, giving it a soft thump one the ground as he started his reply. "This one not wish intrude home." He stated first, acknowledging to her that he understood that he would not move forward.

"Bane of Hunters come from journey, search of home. This one follows the Lights in night fur." He shifted his forepaws about, his visage in thought.

"This one travel...three moons." The mew was long, as if he was making sure himself that the words were the right ones to use.

As he answered her questions he could not help but wonder something himself. "This one gave name to...she-cat. This one call she-cat what?"

Badgerpaw’s temptation is clear. He desires to press his paw down on the molly’s injured tail, but finds common sense hasn’t fled him just yet. Instead, he flexes his paws into the dirt to will the thought away. He waits until she’s finished talking -- she’s very chatty, he notes -- to pipe back up. Blue hues settle on his mottled coat, and his nose scrunches up in malaise.

“Oh, my darling; I’d follow you to the ends of the Earth. Surely.” The young tom’s head cants to the left, amber eyes hooding lazily. “I got no issue with being mysterious and creepy, but if you gotta know, my name’s Badgerpaw.”

“So,” dipping forward, he sneers. “Where are we heading next? There’s some nice brambles just north of here. Figure you might enjoy that.”

Mistgaze hid his amusement. This cat was more innocent than he thought. Surely her little secret could be of use sometimes, so he kept this card in his sleeve for later, and headed silently towards camp, his many catches in his jaw, and the other half carried by Nightmoon.

(Don't have much to say anymore, and I'll mostly RP the EE so let's cliffhanger this up c; )

Clawpaw's hues spark with amusement, although she keeps her posture rigid and calm. "Again, how very flattering. I suppose it's a pleasure to meet you, my little admirer," She mews, her expression going back to an amused one. This has definitely been more interesting than she had bargained for, and it certainly hasn't been boring. That is definitely one word that she wouldn't use to describe the conversation. "That sounds delightful, shall we go there then? I assume you would enjoy watching me get stuck again, that appears to be your new favorite thing," She mews, her voice dripping with sarcasm. She looks as though she's had just about enough, although in her mindset she's doing just fine. Stalker. She thinks, watching him with a snort. She thinks for a moment before spinning away from him and beginning to pad away, at a quick pace. She stops and looks back briefly, her blue hues sparking again and she grins. "Keep up now, you don't want to miss the show, do you?" She asks, her tail twitching ever so slightly as she does so.

"Oh, how rude of me. My name is Ivythorn, and I'm a warrior of Shadowclan," she said, her so-called title with hardly the thrill of her name. She let out a slight sigh. "It must've been a long time since you've been home. Why are you following the.. Uh.. What, exactly was it you called it?" she asked, a bit confused.

She shook her head a bit, feeling stupid for forgetting what the large tom had called it. Was he referring to Starclan? She glanced up at the sky, seeing her past ancestors start to peek through the day's rays. 'I wonder if Bane of Hunters would want a companion,' she thought, then shook the thought from her mind. She couldn't just up and leave Shadowclan. Could she?

From the tom came a purr as he dipped his head. "Bane of Hunters wish Lights watch Ivythorn. Guide paws along path."

Bane of Hunters gave his small wish and rose his head back up to give the cat a perked ear and causing a fumble in his words. "Yes...the uhh...Lights, they those live before. Guide good cats along paths, test heart's strength."

It was near the end of his statement that he seemed to collect himself, his ears perking high and emerald eyes gleaming. "Snow of the Wind told son Lights lead this one better home. True family." He had to explain this before and he awaited the usual response of them not understanding him.

The tom stood up from his seat, seeing the friendly words and questions as a open way but his paws stopped from proceeding as he remembered his words of not entering the Shadowclan lands. Retracting his movements, he took a seat and asked another question. "Ivythorn, warrior of Shadowclan? What Warrior? What Shadowclan?"

Badgerstripe rolled his eyes and smacked her upside the head again. "Collect the moss, Mulberrypaw," he said firmly. "You will learn much but you must listen to me first."

He then went to another small area of moss nearby, and started rolling it up nice and neat, hoping she was watching so she could do it the same way.

She rolled it up quickly, not caring much about the quality versus the quantity, and little pieces of moss stuck up in places. "Done," She said once she'd done five. "I used up all the moss, too." Honestly, she'd used about half of it, and shoved the rest behind a tree. I need to be doing something productive, so let's get to the point, fast!

But a word she used made him look at her quizzically and so did her later words. "Starclan?" He asked, but it was soft like a kitten or atleast as much as a kitten with a deep and struggled voice could muster.

"Supposed be family? Ivythorn not feel Shadowclan family?" As the inquiries left his muzzle, Bane of Hunters imagined the she-cat amongst other cats.

The very shadows of cats moved around the she-cat before him, none of which either acknowledged or interacted with her. Ivythorn not cared? No strong heart in clans either? Bane of Hunters' ears twitched at the thought, pushing it away. This one made promise. Help all cats who heart needs help.

Badgerstripe glanced over at the apprentice, padded over, and rolled his eyes. "You have balls of moss alright, and also of mud, twigs, stones, and who knows what else," he said unamused, while also swatting her over the head.

He padded back to his ball, beckoning his apprentice with his tail. "Watch how I do it, then go back and do the other half you left laying there," he said, almost growling. He barely dug his claws into the moss, and only got the moss and a small amount of dirt with them as he drug his claws back, forming a ball with the soft green plant.

Ivythorn pinned her ears at so many questions, though it was only really two or three. She didn't mean to allow her feelings to come into explaining her clan, but... Oh well, what had been done had been done.

"Starclan are the four clans' ancestors. There's Thunderclan, the best prey stalkers in the forest, Windclan, the speedy cats of the moores, Riverclan, the best and generally only swimmers in the clans, and Shadowclan, the, well.. Shadows, of the other clans.." she said with an empty heart. "Don't get me wrong, Shadowclan was great once. We've just had a kind of, falling out?" she couldn't grasp at the right word for it.

"I, uh..." she sighed when he mentioned her not enjoying her time in Shadowclan. "I used to get picked on a lot growing up. Shadowclan's not anywhere near the friendliest of clans, and as of right now, not nearly the strongest, though, if you ask anyone else in the clan, they'll say otherwise. They still have their clan spirit. I'm not even sure if there is a Starclan anymore..." she said, then pricked her ears and gave her chest fur a couple embarrassed licks. Forestpelt padded into the territory, her brother with her, and her expression calm and unreadable in the shadows. She often looked like that, it was surprising how easily she was able to disguise her emotions, really. She gave a quick flick of her tail, turning her green hues onto Amberstrike. "So, it seems we have some catching up to do...how have you been doing these past few moons?" She asked, her tail twitching again. It was surprising how random the movements were, but they were there. She kept her hues fixed on him in an almost unnerving way, although for him she was sure it wasn't a big deal. Mainly because he was used to it by now, the two of them had grown up together after all...and mainly because it really wasn't that unnerving at all, unless you were scared of her or being stared at. And...he's not scared of either, she thought to herself with a slight smirk.

Trudging out of the warriors' den, a short snowshoe stifled a yawn as he made his way to the middle of the clearing. Still not completely awake, the warrior's head lolled about as he searched the camp for his apprentice. His gaze passed Brokenpaw's figure and went on, only to freeze and glance back at the tom. "Ah," Snakesnap murmured to himself. Blinking away the cloudiness in his vision, the tom realized with a start that he was late to awakening; it was nearly sunhigh! "Brokenpaw!" he called, keeping his words as sharp and clear as he could while still half-asleep. Padding over to the apprentice, he hesitated for a moment before continuing. "I've decided that we'll go hunting today. If we have more time, we may collect moss for the elders." Snakesnap stated the instructions for the day, making sure to use as little words as possible. He didn't wish to waste any breath on small talk. Without waiting to hear Brokenpaw's reply, he turned on his heel and started off toward the territory.

Thinking for a few more heartbeats, occasionally glancing at his apprentice through narrowed slits, he hummed a soft tune as he make his decision. "Hmm... yes. Brokenpaw, I'm going to set a goal for you. You are to at least try to catch a total of 2 pieces of prey by the time the sun reaches the horizon. I've set the bar lower due to how much colder it has become as of late. Reaching this goal may be a little harder than usual. I will assess your skills and make sure you've become adept at the hunting technique." He had to speak a lot more than he was used to, but he supposed it was necessary when you had an apprentice. Everyone always said she was a weak link, the weakest in the small amount of weak links in Shadowclan. Yet, this complete stranger, was nicer to her than even her own mother was.

She stood, slowly walked up to the tom who she now could call friend, and nuzzled his shoulder a bit. "Thank you," she said, her voice cracking a bit.

Amberstrike's golden orbs meet the green ones of his sister. "Well.. Not much really, I got an apprentice.. Clawpaw..." He said. He was secretly excited to have a young one to teach. "Once Clawpaw becomes a warrior I am thinking about looking for a mate...." He mumbled mostly to himself, you wouldn't guess while talking to Amberstrike that he would be nervous around she-cats, but he was terrified of talking to them. He tried to keep his calm, cool appearance but sometimes his nervousness got the best of him. His sister knew this and had to save him several times from completely embarrassing himself in front of a she-cat. "So... How about you? What have you been up to?" His golden eyes watched his sister, it still amazed him how similar the two siblings looked.

Mulberrypaw growled, unsheathing her claws. I'd rip your pelt off! Then you face, and then your ears, and then... and then...! She stormed into the elders den, changed their bedding as quickly as she could then walked out of camp. "Badgerstripe!" She called, looking around. "Badgerstripe, where are you? I finished, like you said!"

Mulberrypaw rolled her eyes again, only kind of watching her mentor. Sighing, she took the other half of the moss and tried to do it just like Badgerstripe. If he's gonna smack me every time I do something wrong, I'd rather just do what he says! Doing her best, she managed to avoid getting most if the dirt in the ball, but it wasn't as clean as she knew it should've been.ak, now I'm done, for real this time." The young apprentice backed away slightly now, just a bit worries Badgerstripe might hit her again.

The middle-aged tom rolled his eyes. He snuck up behind the she-cat, and pounced on her, acting as if she were prey but not actually biting down to hard on her neck. He sat up a bit, then got off of her. "Don't be so loud, an enemy can hear you coming from the twolegplace. Also," he added glancing back at his apprentice. "Never assume anybody is on your side unless you know without a shadow of doubt they are your ally, even clan mates," he said, smacking her upside the head again.

Ow!" This time Mulberrypaw stood up defiantly. "Youre always so mean! You smack me on the head so much, I won't remember I thing you teach me! Which, by the way, is nothing!" She knew she shouldn't be doing this, stepping up to her mentor, but it just wasn't right. Everything I've heard about apprenticeship doesn't include this! "I mean, you're probably teaching me something, but I want to lean more then just rolling up moss and changing bedding and getting pounced on!" Her amber pools glowed with anger as she looked into Badgerstripe's brooding eyes. You won't get away with being mean to me!

Badger stripe tilted his head. Finally something good about this little cat. "You still don't understand what I'm teaching you? Great star clan you're more dense than I thought. The moss collecting was to teach you how to use your claws precisely. The pouncing was so you'll not use your eyes to search for some cat, and the bedding was so the moss wouldn't go to waste. I hit you so you'll know when you mess up, and as for how mean I am, I don't care. Through all of that, however, you are the only apprentice I've had that has stood up to me about it. Good job, you have guts," he said monotonely. He then smacked her again. "Don't do it again," he said. He then got up and padded off into the forest.

"Ok, fine," Mulberrypaw grumbled, only half happy. She'd kinda solved the problem... kinda. "Soo..." She followed Badgerstripe, determined not to lose him. Or get another smacking! "What do you think of Blazingnight?" Water dripped down from the pine leaves, but the trees mostly protected them from the rain. "I mean, she's kinda introduced some... interesting change, like taking on the name night instead of star. Isn't that weird? And she didn't even try to help ThunderClan or WindClan when the fire came!" Using her nose, Mulberrypaw continued to track her mentor's scent. "Do you think she's a good leader?"

"Are you really?" Forestpelt asked, her expression becoming a lot lighter and her green hues flooding with both excitement and pain. Mainly because the mere mention of having a mate made her think of Dawnstripe, which was bittersweet at the moment. As much as she wanted to hate him, she couldn't...there was just nothing in her that allowed her to hate the young warrior. "Oh, well you know...I don't have an apprentice, so I don't do a whole lot. I hunt every once in a while, I tend to stick to myself a good deal of the time...before that I was involved in a relationship but it- it didn't work out." She mewed, lowering her hues away from his gaze. She began praying to StarClan that Amberstrike wouldn't ask her further questions. She didn't quite know his status on forbidden relationships at the moment, and she didn't want him to think less of her because of it. "How do you feel about forbidden relationships? I mean, the whole idea is a little, y'know..." Her voice trailed off, waiting for his reaction. Depending on what it was, she would either tell him or go ahead and continue keeping her previous romance with Dawnstripe a deeply hidden secret.

She is leader now and we will both obey her every command, no matter what it is, no matter what we think is right or wrong, got it?" He growled. He then turned and started walking, then started thinking. She probably would be good for the clan. Shed probably start getting them to not be suck pushovers anymore. Oh well, nothing he could do about it.

Snakesnap paused once he made it into the territory, watching how hard it was for Brokenpaw to pay attention. "Try to focus," he snapped. You always had to make sure that they comprehended the instructions. "Understand?"

Brokenpaw looked at his mentor and twiched his nose "cool, challenges are fun, and I'm not a mousebrain you don't have to walk me through it step by step, I know how to hunt." He said as he stood up and flicked his tail. "And ready set go!" He said and bounded off, his feet barely making a sound as he ran across the forest floor. The young apprentice spotted a vole and crouched, his tail swishing back and fourth as he crawled closer and closer. Finally the apprentice pounced on the vole and broke its neck, killing it swiftly. "Hah" he sighed out the new buried the body and bounded off in search of more prey.

I don't wanna live in a Clan that doesn't respect other cat's opinions!" She honestly didn't know what she was saying, other than that it needed to he said. Snakesnap curled his lip back at Brokenpaw's attitude. The warrior wasn't used to having to deal with an apprentice all the time. He trotted after the younger tom and kept his gaze locked on Brokenpaw's dwindling frame. After a moment, he glanced up at the sky and wonderered whether it was going to rain soon. Clouds were gathering; he hoped that the weather would not interfere with their quick session. Despite his rough exterior, Snakesnap valued his apprentice's education. Wait--where had Brokenpaw disappeared off to? While the snowshoe had been lost in his thoughts, his tuxedo clanmate had left the immediate area. Snakesnap cursed, sniffing the air for his apprentice. It took him a little while, but he finally caught his scent and followed the general direction of the smell. Snakesnap sent up a quick prayer to StarClan that Brokenpaw hadn't noticed his disappearance. That would be rather embarrassing, he thought. Catching sight of his clanmate, Snakesnap let out a quiet sigh of relief. He didn't think his absence was noticeable, but you never could be sure with apprentices. They saw everything. But it wasn't like the snowshoe cared about what other felt about him, of course; he had no reason to.

Ivythorn paused, and tilted her head a bit. "I.. I don't know what to say.." she said, speechless. Why was he being so nice to her? Everyone always said she was a weak link, the weakest in the small amount of weak links in Shadowclan. Yet, this complete stranger, was nicer to her than even her own mother was.

She stood, slowly walked up to the tom who she now could call friend, and nuzzled his shoulder a bit. "Thank you," she said, her voice cracking a bit. It was the first time she had said those words to anyone and truly meant it. It felt good to have a friend, even if this friend wasn't of any clan, much less her own.

Purring came from the tom as the she-cat nuzzled his shoulder, "No thanks ever needed. Promise for heart yearns for it." He craned his head over and gave the top of her head a small bump with his muzzle.

The tom drew his gaze over the last string of light before it vanished away, the dark encroached upon the land. His ears flicked at the change, hearing becoming more focused as he looked down to Ivythorn. "Clan will wonder of Ivythorn yes? Should be home this dark?" his mew with some concern as it fidgeted a bit to the surroundings.

The tabby tom paused in his return to camp, and turned around. "If you feel you cannot live here, then leave, but if you ever think to come back, we will rip you to shreds," he said. "You don't even know how to properly hunt yet, what makes you think you can survive outside the clan's territory?" he asked, turning around and walking up to her, standing tall in front of her. "You are no disappointment, Mulberrypaw. You have the potential to become the greatest warrior Shadowclan's ever seen, but you have to be patient and take the time to listen to what I'm saying." His tone turned to the soft side as he said his little encouragement. "I'm hard on you so that you will get used to it. Shadowclan has a new leader, one who I'm not entirely sure will lead us to greatness. I don't want to see any cat hurt because of this, especially not our clanmates," he said softly in her ear. "Now go back to camp and think about what I've said, Mulberrypaw. Maybe the elders need some ticks picked off of them, and don't think I'm being nice. This is a hard truth you will either deny or accept."

Heronback continued on the path he walked time and time again, but this time he wasn't alone. He could feel Honeybranch by his side, which made him even more nervous. I'm going to tell her. That was the plan at least. He had feelings for the ginger she-cat for awhile now. She was beautiful, clever, and actually understood him unlike every other cat in Shadowclan. They came to a tall bracken wall with a small opening in it with lichen hanging at the entrance. We're here. He sat down in front of the wide stream that ran through the clearing and thought for a long moment. His heart thudded in his chest, he was almost worried if Honeybranch could hear it. When it came to planning battle strategies, Heronback was the one to go to. Revenge, he had it covered. But love... He was completely ignorant in how to deal with love. "H-Honeybranch," He started carefully, "I'm glad we could come back here, and be alone."

"I am too. It's nice to get away from all the commotion in the clan, huh?" The molly agreed, leaning against the thin framed tom. "Heronback, I'm a little scared. She wanted her friend to loosen up and hopefully steering his mind away would help.

Badgerstripe nodded, then sat down. He would wait for her to come back for a day, and after that, if he saw her, he'd kill her. It wouldn't be all that hard. At least, it shouldn't be, right? She's just an apprentice, one who hasn't had any training yet. Then again, did he even want to train her? She ran out on him just because he hit her a couple times when she messed up. If she could run from that, then she would only run from battle when she was needed most. 'Oh well, if she comes back I'll train her, if not, then I won't.'

He shrugged with a sigh, "I'm not sure. I'm going to go on another patrol with her and see what I can find out." He tilted his head, a new found curiousness entering his dark cobalt blue eyes. "What do you think about her choice to abandon Starclan?" The tuxedo tom asked, watching her every move closely. Heronback pondered the idea of having a debate with the lovely she-cat. He figured it would be awfully thrilling but he had to find out what they disagreed on first.

I shouldn't have argued with Fleetear.

Another unsuccessful hunt. If this keeps up, he might end up in trouble, but he doesn't seem too worried about it. "What's happening to me..." he growls to himself, "I'm not even trying anymore... I should go back and attempt to sleep again, maybe-"

Just as he passes an opening in the brush, he gets a glimpse of Squirrelleap. Suprised, he halts and peeks out to see. His heart skips, thinking of their last talk and how much worse this might be, maybe this is a bad idea. But... She's my mate. My independent, can fend for herself mate that I haven't seen in over a moon. I... I have to...

Fleetear pads out to her, "...Squirrelleap?" he lightly mews, almost bracing himself.

Heronback glanced away, recalling the memories of his patrol with Blazingnight. She didn't say much to indicate really anything was bugging her, but she did seem tense...

(be sure to mention or quote me so it'll send me a notification)

Honeybranch nodded as Heronback offered to go out on a patrol with ShadowClan's leader. "It defenitely isnt wise, but who am I to tell her what to do? She is leader yes, but Im not gonna stop her. Judgement day will come whether she likes it or not." Honeybranch lifted her head as she pressed against him a little, feeling chilly from a small, but cold breeze that swept through the private, secluded clearing. "And you, dear Heronback? What ks your view on our leader's decison to abandon our ancestors?" She asked, gazing at him, searching his eyes to see if he would lie to her. The flaxen-colored cat definitely did not like liars.

He chuckled as she asked him the question, he knew Honeybranch was searching him. "My dear, I wouldn't ever think of lying to you." The black tom knew she was clever then most but she couldn't get every secret out of him. Sure she could tell if he lied to her at this very moment but she couldn't find out about his father. That is if I don't slip... "In my opinion Starclan has no real business with the living. Cats like us, the smart ones, can figure things out without needing the dead to guide us." Heronback said cooly, turning his sight to the smooth sparkling river.
(We can have him slip about killing his father here, but instead of killing her Heronback pleads for her not to tell, but Honeybranch races off, upset and scared. Later they can get back together. Sound gud?)

"Yeah... " Amberstrike felt his pelt heat up. He tried to meet his sisters gaze as she looked away. A frown appeared on his maw, "I am sorry sister.."He nuzzled her neck and stopped after she has asked her question. He thought for a few moments before he answered, "I think.. If you really love the cat then you should be together..." He smiled a bit and hoped his sister wouldn't hate him for his answer. Amberstrike seemed like a very cold cat but he was a sucker for love and he was a huge romantic.
Forestpelt looked a little more distressed, although her green hues regained their inpenetrable stare. "Yeah. That's the way it goes sometimes, though...can't always expect to get the toms." She laughed a little, although it was obvious that the subject was a painful one to her and she wasn't even quite sure why she was talking about it. Oh yes...because Amberstrike was her brother, and he did deserve to know. "Hm. Didn't know you had that kind of an opinion about it...in that case, Dawnstorm- the cat that I was...involved with...was from WindClan." Forestpelt told him, looking away once more. Despite him being okay with a forbidden romance, she knew that if he had been the one to tell her that, she probably would have been at least a little upset. Probably mainly with the other cat, for leaving her brother like that. Forestpelt waited for his reply, her thin black tail twitching back and forth as she did so.

Amberstrike tried to joke, he was confused why this Dawnstorm would hurt his sister. "Why can't you be with the tom... Why would he cause you this much pain?" He asked Frostpelt. He wasn't upset because of their relationship but he hated seeing his sister in pain. 'She doesn't deserve it.' He thought. His tail swayed with irritation.

(Yup!!)
Honeybranch enjoyed the closeness of her friend, closing her eyes as he responded to her question. "Yes, but they all are good and each one deserves to be in the clan of honor. We should at least respect them at the very least. Sometimes we may choose to ignore their warnings, but thats why we have medecine cats so they can recieve the messages and tell our leader. Not us.
