they were born to fly.
for their whole lives, they had wings. they could soar through the air, sharing the sky with the birds. the birds were their friends, their family. their home.
the felines of isradel are unlike any others. they live within a world of magic, thriving in a territory full of many things. once they have reached the age of six moons, they sprout wings in which they use to fly through the sky, along with their aves cousins. with age, their wings grow to be large and strong, carrying them through the most powerful of winds. the oldest of elders has the strongest of wings, while the youngest of kits have no wings at all.
every feline who lives in isradel shall live a life of harmony. those who look to stray from the peace and bring destruction will be exiled from the territory, their wings falling from their bodies. all cats who become exiled are shunned from isradel and are sent away in order to live as normal rogues. it is believed that all cats without wings are descendants of those who were exiled from isradel.
these cats are not carnivorous. they eat plants and berries that they have learned to grow amongst many moons, and for that, the animals in which they have saved pay them back with no harm done to their precious food. the animals in isradel are different as well, yet they behold no wings. the birds, they do, but others don't. no, they hold a greater thing. love.
it is not a romantic love, however. the love they hold is for those who feel as if they hold nothing left. it is to share amongst anyone.
that is their gift.

isradel has no leader. they all live together in peace, and seek guidance from their ancestors, the esprits. the esprits reveal themselves in dreams, bodies of water, or the stars. their pelts are made of the clouds, with voices so soft they could be carried away by the wind.
elders are seen as wise and strong, while kits are respected as the next generation. queens are protected, and all adults are given the job to protect them. young cats, from the age of six to twelve moons, must undergo training in order to become a protector, a healer, or a gardener.
protectors learn the skills they need in order to keep isradel safe from harm. gardeners keep the herbs in which they grow safe and healthy for isradel’s residents to eat. healers do as it is said- they heal. though, they do not use herbs. no, the healers have a special magic that can heal almost anything. however, healers cannot grow back limbs, revive any organism, or resurrect anyone from the dead. elders share their stories, queens bear kits, and those kits grow to restart the cycle.

darkness shall rise.
sometimes, an esprit will become consumed by darkness. their form will change into something so dark, even the tiniest of light will harm them. because of this, isradel uses enchanted mushrooms as a boundary to keep the evil, called the limanus, away. but that has grown not to be enough. the limanus has found allies, the exiled, to help destroy the boundaries and allow them into isradel, seeking to destroy it. will they succeed?
