(Alright!)

Kubomors awoke to bright sunshine. His green eyes fluttered open, only to squeeze shut at the shine of the sun. Drowsy, Kubomors stood up, and stretched. When he relaxed, the poor tom recalled the events of the last quarter moon.

Lupimors stiffly walked beside his apprentice, expression clearly hurt. The pair recently had a heated dispute over some.. personal matters. Kubofinne was not about to apologize to the person he disliked the most at the moment, and he probaby wouldn't for a few days. Well, if he had a few days. Lupimors and Kubofinne were on their way to the Pool to speak with the Starpacers, for they needed to know when Kubofinne was eligible to become a full Medicine Cat. Unfortunately, the Pool was in the mountains, which meant a hard, long trek. By the time the pair nearly reached the Pool, they were exhausted. As the path grew narrow and the mountainside was steep, the pair began to grow nervous. Kubofinne stared down at the seemingly endless drop below them, gulping with anxious energy. Oh how he wished the path were just a little bit bigger. He would wish it even more at this moment. There was a gap in the path. A jump they had to make for moons. Kubofinne's anxiety was at its peak at this moment, and anxiety was going to turn into trauma. Lupimors stopped, took a deep breath, and leaped. Unfortunately, his leap was unsteady. Lupimors landed on the next platform, but his backlegs slipped and fell off of the edge. "Lupimors!" Kubofinne raced to the edge, unable to leap over to help his mentor. After what seemed like minutes, but were actually seconds of frantic scrabbling, Lupimors fell.

Blinking from his momentary daze, Kubomors began to leave his den. Warmth hit him in an instant. It was beautiful outside. Birds were singing, cats were chatting. What could go wrong? Kubomors sat in front of his den, and closed his eyes. Time to calm down.

Gardemark flexed his thin shoulders as he stepped nimbly from the shadows that the branch he slept on cast. His serious, yellow orbs examined the small but effective camp, watching the cats bathing in the early sunlight. The sound of murmur and chatter of good friends and clan mates filled his ears, allowing himself to sit down just outside of the shadows. His black tail wrapped neatly over his paws, glancing at the mountainous range that clearly peaked at the edges of the territory.

Birdsong relaxed him in the early morning, the feeling of stardom making his heart pound. He clearly identified many faces in the small area he had paced for so long; though, one of worry stood out to him over all things. "Kubomors?" The leader called out across the clearing, beckoning the cat forward with his tail. The unnaturally small tom didn't even flinch. He knew that any of the familiar lads and lasses would come trotting up at his command. That was the power that came with being the leader of the clan.
It gave Gardemark the power he had always craved. He had secrets he would never tell and could never be questioned about with his royal rank.

As peaceful as the young tom had been, he had almost forgotten the other cats in the Clans. He remembered when his name had been called by his leader. Kubomors's head snapped up in surprise. His leader needed him for something. Was he finally being respected as the medicine cat in the Clan? Some cats thought less of him, that he knew. He was only a few moons away from being of age. Besides, who else would heal the Clan? Lupimors is dead.

Blinking out of his momentary spite, Kubomors trotted over to Gardemark. The black and white tom swayed his tail back and forth in waiting. "Yes, Gardemark? What is it?" Anxiety slowly returned to him. His peace was always small and uneventful. What had his leader called him for? Did he have a dream? Did he have something Kubomors needed to interpret? Was something wrong? Was he sick? Kubomors lashed his tail to rid of his nervous energy. When his silent episode was over, Kubomors took a deep, shaky breath and refocused his green orbs on his leader.

Gardemark squinted as Kubomors took a few steps over. He stayed emotionless, calm and collected as he sat in watch, giving Kubomors a few measly moments to adjust himself to the leader's presence. "Kubomors," He began. "You are young, and I know you are still shaken from Lupimors' death. But you have to get over it, dear. You have a clan that needs your assistance to interpret the Starpacer's messages and to heal them. You will earn respect, but you must give it time. You were young when I came into power, but I'm sure you must have noticed how I was treated? Unfairly. That is life, simply, and I'm afraid I cannot put it any other way. You are anxious, but you must be patient." It was as if the small tom had read Kubomors' mind. Gardemark had been treated with such indifference because of his small and weak size. Yet, the small tom had proven himself over time.

Kubomors began to tremble. He read him as if he were transparent. Lupimors's death was terrifying for the young tom. So terrifying, in fact, that he not dare take a step onto the mountains. But Gardemark was right. He had to toughen up. He had to talk with the Starpacers. He had to get over his newfound fear. Kubomors suddenly felt small. But he couldn't. There was always that voice in the back of his mind that whispered things he knew were wrong. Kubomors took in a deep breath, and let it out. Clear your mind. Be like a leaf. Drift with the sea, he recited inwardly. Lupimors had taught him this to help with his anxiety, and surprisingly it worked. It helped him calm down, and it helped him breathe. Kubomors met Gardemark's eyes. "Thank you, Gardemark. I'll tey my best," he finally replied. Kubomors looked past the camp and to the mountains. For a moment they didn't seem so scary. For a moment he forgot all about Lupimors's death. For a moment, he felt peaceful.

The faint groan of a feline announced the awakening of the deputy. Many grumbles and whines left from her lips as her scrawny body made its way out from the shrubs. Pieces of moss clung to her silky coat, however, Alaponos was more concerned on the lack of prey that remained in the pile. Of course, it was most-likely that a group of cats had already left to hunt, but it still upset her somehow. She ambled forwards, stretching out her limbs as she did so, and shaking out her foliage-filled pelage.

Sheebaign, unlike Alaponos, was wide-awake. He was bustling about, as energetic as ever, with a large grin spread out across his features. He seemed to be happy, which wasn't shocking at all, but today he seemed extremely happy. Baby blue optics gleamed as per usual, surveying the felines that surrounded the golden-lit camp, whilst his tufted auds swivelled around upon their wide-set axis. Soft hums were often heard leaving from his large, white body. Sheebaign was just in the mood for some fun!

A darkly colored feline had been up since before the sun. She hadn't slept so well last night - and it showed with every movement that she made. Solstice was truly exhausted, but she was half-frightened to show it and knew that she wouldn't be able to say she was even if she wanted to. The feline had been mute from birth, something that frightened her at times and at other times, made her feel fine. She was going to be perfectly fine just as long as other cats didn't decide to get up in her business. That was something she had to be careful of, because there were way too many cats who decided that it was their job to make sure that she was personally doing fine every second of every day. Slipping past the black and brown she cat, Solstice gingerly reached out to grab something from the pile, lowering her head in a greeting to her clanmate before pulling away quickly.

A large tom entered the clearing, his ears pricked up and looking alert, an expression of the utmost determination in his eyes as he padded along. There was a small mouse hanging from his maw, plump, but so tiny that it probably wasn't full adult age yet. It was almost like he couldn't smile. Averillign had been up since the sun had first peeked over the horizon, back when there wasn't enough light to be considered truly day, but for him that was a cue for every cat to get up and get moving. The tom shot a glance toward the deputy with a short 'hmph' noise as he continued padding along, before dropping the mouse on the fresh kill pile and turning back towards the she cat. "Good morning, Alaponos." He greeted her with a slight smile. "You're doing well, I trust?"

--

Another, more friendly face was also in the clearing that morning. Damiane had gotten up perhaps ten minutes ago, but he was already well groomed and looking foward to the day. His eyes sparkled with pleasure as he approached another tom who was sitting in the clearing. "Sheebaign," He greeted, padding over with a smile on his maw. He looked almost too happy for someone who had recently gotten up, which might have been considered suspicious had it not been for one simple fact; Damiane was someone who had always been a morning cat, even from kithood. "What's been up with you lately?" The tom had made it a point to memorize the names of most of the cats in LunarClan - and for the moment, he was getting pretty close.

--

Umberfinne was tired that morning. He'd slept in, sure, but gotten up for fear of being called lazy later on. He would have to go out hunting later that day to prove that he was able to move quickly and hadn't lost his excitement at being an apprentice now. For whatever reason, that had always been one of Umberfinne's biggest fears, that he would have to go back to doing something else if he appeared too lazy. Which was one of the reasons that he pretended he didn't have time for flirts, and had been doing a pretty good job of his 'pretending' so far... mainly because he REALLY didn't have time at this point. Right now, the only thing he had time for was paying attention to his "job." (open)

With soft movements, a lightly colored tail was sweeping across the ground. Dust was stirred up by it, some settling back down on the lightly colored fur of the feline and some landing back on the ground. Temperancefinne continued this one movement, calmed by how steady it seemed. She wasn't even paying attention to the dust particles that were being stirred up, keeping her eyes on the clearing in front of her instead. There was a certain softness to her expression at the moment, one that made her look a little friendlier, rather then the hard 'never smiling' expression that was normally presented to others. And maybe it was that Temperancefinne was relaxed that morning, feeling like she wasn't having to hide from anyone, but she felt a lot more - well - at peace with herself. (open)

Gardemark unraveled his tail from neatly around his white paws and stood gracefully, looming above Kubomors before flicking his tailtip in dismissal. "Alright, then." He spoke with his emotions completely concealed as if there were none at all. His eyes were glazed "You are dismissed. And, as I've said, calm down. You'll be alright. Forget the past and look for the future, my friend." His fangs clenched together as he lifted his featherweight paws and padded back towards the comforting darkness of his previous shadowed resting place.
