Hey, guys!
Considering the disbanding of the Dusk Syndicate, I thought it was about time I actually used my DS cat for once. Though due to his history, the disbanding of the syndicate ties in well with what his plans are for the future, if not what they were currently were. This plot will be using my boi Nigmas (https://imgur.com/BiNmh6o), with mostly just some platonic relationships along the way, so most positions open will be friends. I’ll consider creating a family later if this becomes popular, but for now it’s pretty much just some friendships.
Things you should know when applying:
Nigmas is blunt and manipulative. He doesn’t care deeply for other cats though isn’t afraid to openly show these qualities. If you’ve got a cat that wouldn’t accept bad treatment or at least teasing at the start of their relationship, they probably won’t suit being a friend. Feel free to apply them still, this might make for an interesting dynamic!
Due to the fact that this is centred around a site plot, timing will have to work around this as well. The characters included in this plot will be leaving around the time that the Dusk Syndicate is disbanded, and the larger part of this plot will occur at this time. Any rp before this time won’t have a lot happening, though sit tight! The plot’s still going to continue.
And finally, the actual plot:
Nigmas could never see the end of the Syndicate coming. To him, they were infinite. Stable despite their violent rules and rituals, and smaller numbers compared to the clans. His life before the Syndicate was anything but stable. So what was going to happen to his home? Where was his home, if that couldn’t be it?
Before the threat of disbandment, Nigmas was rather content with his life. While he lacked proper friendship, being alive and in a group that could fall before you was all he needed. He’d put up with the treatment, the scars and wounds, though still couldn’t put up with Bones’ temperament. Bones was always too clingy, in his opinion, as if he just wanted protection from him. That was alright, he could always fire back at him with insults and curses in attempt to chase him away. This never seemed to work… Bones was adamant in sticking by Nigmas, inadvertently annoying him beyond all compare.
On the other hand, Saturn was a different “companion”. Nigmas went out of his way to annoy and tease her, much to Saturn’s despair. The two were never close, though Nigmas constantly pretended they were, acting affectionate towards her and calling her his best friend in front of other cats.
Come the fall of the Dusk Syndicate, Nigmas’ world had fallen with it. Despite his confidence and impolite behaviour, he’d relied on the Syndicate for protection and a place to rest. Now he’d be thrown out into the world on his own. Well… Not entirely. Bones follows Nigmas once he decides to leave, and in his frightened state he accepts the cat’s company.
Nigmas still looks down on Bones, however, still treating him as a lesser individual and taking out his anger on him. He also coerces him into doing some work for him while they are alone together. One thought always plays on the back of Nigmas’ mind, however. A memory.
Upon joining the Dusk Syndicate, Nigmas was accompanied by his sister, Nero. The both were battered and pushed to the edge, their morals tested. Nero couldn’t handle it, fleeing the Dusk Syndicate and leaving her brother behind. Now that they’d disbanded, this gave him an opportunity. He could finally find her after the moons they’d spent apart.
Nigmas brings Bones with him on his search, not sharing his plans with him. He doesn’t trust him well enough to share his motives for travel and still uses him as a tool to get what he needs. During their travel, however, they soon encounter Saturn. Glad to see a familiar face, Nigmas greets her with his usual pretend doting behaviour and she fires right back with an insult. Good times, in his eyes. Considering the issue at hand, Saturn agrees to join them both, and the three continue to travel.
At this point, Nigmas starts having nightmares, depictions of his sibling being torn apart by wild dogs and even clan cats. Unable to handle these visions on his own, he shares his worries with Bones, who he now trusts enough to share his fears with. Trust? This was an unusual occurrence for him, though what else could he do? Over time, Bones and Nigmas eventually become closer friends due to the experience. Saturn, though sick of being doted upon, is beginning to feel the loneliness creep on. Her complaints on the childish treatment have subsided, and she begins to accept the company of both Nigmas and Bones. The three become inseparable, a stronger bond being formed due to their isolation. Strangely enough, the disbandment had done their relationship a world of good.
After covering a large amount of ground together, the group encounters [Loner]. Unsure what to think of them at first, they remain cautious when [Loner] asks more about them, offering a place to stay. The group see no harm in trusting them, as they outnumber the loner 3 to 1. [Loner] shares stories with them in the night, mentioning a white and orange she-cat they’d encountered in the past.
Nigmas’ interest is piqued when the loner mentions this, the description fitting that of his sister. [Loner] offers to take them to her den, and Nigmas persuades the group to follow.
(After this point, Nero will be encountered and it’s up to the other cats to choose whether they wish to stay at the den or leave. Don’t forget to add that in your form!)
