Mapledash stumbled in the dust, tail dragging, walking towards the unknown that lay before him. He gave a grunt at his burns, but didn't dare look at how bad they were. How could this have happened? Why, starclan surely had plans for him and his clan, but whatever it was, they better hurry telling him before he goes mad. He prayed for hope, and for his clan's safety. Giving a glance behind him, he could still see the dark smoke from the devastation of the fire that had ate all of his homeland. With no more prey running in the territory, and smart enough not to beg the other clans for food, mapledash decided to find a new land for his clan. A place where, maybe, life could be easier. A mission that he couldn't dare ask for help, or assistance, without risking a clanmate's life. He had to carry this burden for everycat's sake. Alone. With this idea in mind, he kept walking in front of him, no directions other than forward, hoping for a brighter future.

Sagewhisker hurried out of camp, dazed with all the smoke. The fire had almost completely consumed the camp. Sparks showered her as a nearby tree cracked, threatening to crush her. The sparks burned her; she shook her pelt to get them off. She spotted a relatively small creek and hurried over to it. She drenched herself in water and sighed. The cool water soothed her burns. The tortoiseshell molly emerged from the creek and shook the water from her fur. Sagewhisker turned the hot blaze. In the distance she could see the hollowed silhouette of the destroyed camp. She sighed. 'My home is gone' Sagewhisker turned back around and fled towards ThunderClan territory, hoping to find help.

Mapledash made his way through the ruins of his camp. All that was left was ashes, crisp and hot blazes. The sight of this place made his heart lurch, but he moved on. "I need to go now ... starclan light my path. he meowed, looking to the sky. The smoke would hide the stars tonight, wich gave dark thoughts to mapledash, but he kept his hopes up as much as he could.
Walking out of camp, he couldn't tell why, but he felt something was looming above him, something urging him to follow his instinct of leaving. Was this maybe a sign from starclan? Or simply his pain that hit stronger than usual? He started walking faster, knowing he had to go where no cats of the clans had ever gone yet. He had to go beyong the clan boundaries, beyond twoleg territory, and through the unknown lands beyond them. However long this journey would take him, he would do it for his clan. He remembered his mentor, telling him that this world was cruel and that if he was willing to live, he'd have to suffer, his father, who wanted to be deputy one day, his mother, who simply wanted to teach the future generations, his friends, who always seemed to take clan life easily, day after day. All of this, he had to put it behind, but not leave it behind. He would bring their memory and their hope with him on his journey. Maybe would he feel less lonely every time he think about them. He finally sets off, giving his burns a few quick licks at last under his burned pelt, and glancing in the direction of the beach. "I will not come back empty pawed thunderclan, and I'll make this journey worth the pain." he promised solemnly.

@mapledash, I was thinking that maybe Mapledash could hear the fighting and come and help Sagewhisher? Or Sagewhisker could come out of the forest, ragged with wounds, and he decided to help her?
Sagewhisker trekked along the clan territory. As she neared ThunderClan, she reasoned that the fure had died down there. She looked along the ever-stretching plains. The forest beyond looked darker and more eerie than usual. She always had a bad feeling about this place. Sagewhisker shook the feeling away and started again. As she reached ThunderClan territory, she started to hear rustling in the bushes. At first, the molly ignored it. After walking on, she whipped around to see menacing beady, yellow eyes staring back at her. The stench if fox was heavy in the air. Sagewhisker hissed with disgust and wrinkled her muzzle. Menace struck in her gaze as she stared back at the yellow-eyed fox. Sagewhisker took a step forward, daring it to come out. The young molly let her claws slide out and prepared for a fight. The fox slid out of the bushes and leaped at Sagewhisker. The tortoiseshell molly darted to the side soon enough, luckily it had only got a light scratch in. Sagewhisker curled her lips back into a snarl.

Mapledash was going to head out towards the wasteland when he heard turmoil behind him, up a slight slope. His ears twitched at the sound and he glanced back. What was happening up there? He crept up the slope, hoping it wasn't an other clan attacking them. He reached the mid-height of the slope when the reek of fox started to hit him disgustingly. Definitely a male, and really angry by the sound of it. He reached the top, trying to stay hidden from the fox and whatever was getting shreded. He tensed, realising the sound was from a cat. He feared that one of his clanmates had followed him back to camp and got attacked by this fox. He jumped out of his hiding spot, wasting no more time to help his clanmate.
He quickly spotted the both of them, but then realised the cat wasn't his clanmate. Whatever, he was there to chase this fox, and that's what he was going to do, regardless of the cat's presence. An other claw to strike was worth trying. He ran towards the predator and unsheated his claws, digging in the ground to gain more speed and strenght in his blow. He came near his victim's muzzle and gave it a powerfull slice while it wasn't expecting it. The fox yowled and snarled at both cats. Turning around, mapledash was now facing the fox beside this other cat, wich he quickly looked at and realised it was the windclan cat Sagewhisker. His first reaction was anger. "Why are you even here? Trying to attack us when we're weakened? Is that it?" he challenged the cat, not shifting his gaze from the fox who was creeping and circling around them. A sudden thought came in his mind, but he didn't dare accuse his only friend against this fox about causing the fire.

Sagewhisker watched the fox dash away and turned to the tom that had helped him. Her eyes narrowed as he spoke. The cat was Mapledash of ThunderClan. "Why would I want to attack the whole of ThunderClan? I'm only one cat, not a raiding party. Besides, WindClan is weakened by the fire, as well." She retorted. Sagewhisker's tail whisked over the ground, making the grass below shake. She flexed her claws, ready to attack if needed. "I was traveling, away from WindClan to..well...find help for my clan." She meowed.

Mapledash relaxed as the fox went away. He was surprised that it gave up so quickly, but didn't waste time to concentrate on the windclan intruder. Sagewhisker seemed struck by his words, as if he had offended her. "Then I cannot help you, my clan is only ruins, what's left of it is safe on the beach, probably as bad as yours is." he admited, sadness covering his voice. So her clan wasn't responsible of the fire, otherwise they wouldn't have burned themselves in the process, unless they were absolutely mouse-brained. "I have to go find a place where we can live untill all of this clears off." he explained the she-cat. Something came in mapledash's mind as he turned to the she-cat. Did windclan run towards the beach as well?" he asked, worried. Maybe she had news of Ashstar? He hadn't seen his clanmates since the fire started, since he brought most of the elders to the beach before going around the fire to reach the camp again. When he arrived, everyone had fled.

@mapledash
Sagewhisker nodeed. Her clan was fleeing toward the beach. "Our clan was ordered to flee toward the beach. I on the other hand, well.....let's just say that I- and my clan need something new." She meowed. Sagewhisker glnced beyond Mapledash and to the wastelands. I may find something there....or....I could go the other way? Her gaze then passed over in the other durection. It certainly seemed more promising, but looks can be decieving.

Mapledash looked through the she-cat. She seemed honest at this point, she was alone, she was seeking for help, not that thunderclan could provide much, and her clan was probably with his other clanmates on the beach. "Fine. I believe you. How's Dapplestar?" he asked, worried. His leader had been missing since the evacuation, but Ashstar definitely could handle himself without his help. He had multiple lives anyway, so they had nothing to fear, right? A problem still remained: who started the fire? Was this an attack, or a coincidence? How come the two new "leaders" were the only clans spared by these events? Mapledash's gaze started to shift lower as he thought this out, and frowned more and more as he came to realise how horrible this would be. An other evil era ... Starclan's new downfall... the destruction of the very being of what a clan was. He looked back up at Sagewhisker, shivering at the thought, and waiting for her clan's news.

Sagewhisker sighed. She hadn't seen much of Dapplestar, but when had seen her she looked very weak and ragged from the smoke. "Dapplestar is fine. She breathed in a little smoke, but she should soon recover with some honey." The dappled molly meowed. "So, where are you heading for?" Sagewhisker asked. A wide yawn escaped from her maw as she finished speaking. Sagewhisker sat down and began to lick her wounds.

Mapledash was quite relucant to answer the she-cat, but she needed his help, so why would she trick him? And telling her where he's headed won't help her really. "I don't know. Somewhere beyond the twoleg nests and the wasteland, maybe there's some forests we could go untill everything calms down. I hope" he meowed. Now that he looked at it, this cat would probably be a great ally in his journey. He didn't know how to put out the words to ask for help, so he tried pretending he offered her help instead of asking for assistance. "You're welcome to join me if you want, I think it would be better for you as well." he explained her.

Sagewhisker smiled. "I'd like that. Of course, the ground is still warm from the fire, we should camp on ThunderClan territory so we can stay warm for the night." She reasoned. The dappled molly shifted her paws, the ground below warmed as she sat there.

Mapledash still didn't trust the she-cat, nor the way she was acting so friendly. He layed down in the grass and eyed her suspiciously, just in case she casted glances towards him. He would stay up all night if he had to, but he was not going to be fooled by this cat if she planned something. "So we just stay here in my territory, and then what?" he asked the she-cat. "We'll just go find our clans after this" he proposed. He didn't want this cat to follow him.

After a rainy night, the two cats headed back to their respective clans to make sure their clanmates were okay. The fire had gone with the rain, and both cats bid their farewell as they went away. They agreed to come back to give news of their clans the next day, if the fire had caused important damages and what not. Sagewhisker warned the medicine cat of her departure, while mapledash made sure everyone was fine before leaving. Soon enough, they realised their clans were not doing fine anymore. Ratnight and Singenight were now leading their clans, and the Evil Era had begun.

Sagewhisker trekked along the ThunderClan border. I hope Mapledash is not here. The calico molly dwelled on this for a while. Or do I? She shook the thought from her head and trekked on acrosd the burnt territory.

Mapledash trotted along the border, hoping he'd see Sagewhiskers. He needed good news from windclan, because thunderclan didn't have any. The evil era was there, and he knew he had no much time to flee for better lands before the new leaders corrupted the clans. He saw her along the border, her pelt barely visible near the territory end. He made sure she was alone before calling to her. "Sagewhisker! Psst! It's maple! he hissed. He came forward and waves his tail, dipping his head to her. "So how is everyone doing?" he started.

(We're going to have to timeskip this part and get going on towards skyclan if we want to finish in time. We're at the town near skyclan and I'm going to get sick.)
Mapledash trotted confidently up the green hill and to the top to get a better view of the surroundings. There was a set of twoleg nests in the distance, but they couldn't go around in moons so big it was. They would have to... "We'll have to go through, Sagewhisker." he told her his thoughts aloud, trying to stay calm and confident, but he had no idea what they would face in there. Twolegs grabbing, monsters roaring, dogs chassing, kittypets hissing and all the usual cluster of problems in one bundle. They'd have to stick together through this one if they were to save the clans from the evil leaders. He walked down the hill towards the danger head on.
