In the middle of a modest suburban street, there was a fine house surrounded by a white picket fence on three sides. And that was the home of Moho, a gray-and-white pelted tom.

He'd lived here since kithood. From when he was a bright-eyed youngster to now, he'd always stayed around this little expanse of property, and his street block. No farther, because there was no need to: plenty of things happened around his house and the ones around it.

When the young tomcat slid out under the catflap, a humid burst of air met him. It was definitely a contrast to the indoor air-conditioning, but Moho didn't mind. Today, he planned to sit on his front lawn and watch the cars pass by, one by one in their lineup. Or perhaps he'd find a new feline friend, or hiss at a human walking their dog.

Every day brought something new, after all, and the morning had just begun.

Orchid had been padding along the fences and also the occasional sidewalk. It seemed that the more she walked, the more trees came with it. But, she hadn't wandered that far from her home, since she had been let out by her owners a few minutes earlier. Really- like most of the other kittypets born and lived here all their life, she was pretty good at navigating through the non-natural areas with ease. As soon the fences seemed to slowly change, she leaped down onto the sidewalk, her tail flicking slightly behind her. The young molly than broke into a quick trot, her ears perked as she listened to the new sounds. It really wasn't all that "new" there just wasn't so many sounds of monsters she had quite grown used too.
She stopped to look at a lawn, enjoying the scent of the grass for a moment, it kind of amused her how it kind of tickled her nose, as if it was trying to tease her. The russain blue actually reliazed that she had been looking down most of this time, and not forward. So, hunching her shoulders slightly, she lifted her head, too her surprise, seeing another cat. She stood there for a moment, wondering what she should do. She really wanted to talk to him, because, he was a new cat! But at the same time, he was a new feline she hadn't meant, and what if he was bad or something along those lines?

Latte sighed, walking down the sidewalk by the street. The bell on his red collar jingling. He looked at the yard nearby. He saw two cats there. One was sitting in the yard, and the other was standing by it. "Hello, there! I'm Latte.", the brown and white tom meowed.

Rubinaito if Aleka and Phoenix Flames are okay with you joining, then you could certainly hop in; I don't mind. ]

The small tomcat perked his ears when he saw signs of a feline joining him. It was a she-cat, nosing her way along the prickly grass absentmindedly. She was probably unaware of his presence until, well, now.

"Oh, hello there!" Moho said cheerfully, perking his ears in gleefulness. What a coincidence: he was just thinking about meeting new friends and the whatnot, and here one was.

He was going to elaborate more, and introduce himself, when a second being scampered along and took the spotlight. Ah, so this is Latte. Moho thought, studying the tom carefully. He seems quite friendly.

Once Latte finished talking, the gray-and-white tom realized that this was his opportunity to speak. "I'm Moho. This is where I live." He flicked his tail towards his owner's stone-and-brick home.

"It's pretty nice here. And you certainly seem friendly. A lot of cats I know aren't this friendly at all.", Latte chuckled. "Do you mind shoeing us around?", the brown and white tom asked.

“Well, I guess I’m the friendly type,” Moho shrugged. A small, almost shy smile spread across his face, and he couldn’t help but twitch his tail upwards in amusement.

As for the second part of Latte’s statement, Moho cocked his head slightly and thought for a moment. He usually didn’t show cats inside his house, because his owners might get upset. But they could certainly look around the property and backyard. The land around his house wasn’t very spacious, but there was a small flower garden area and work-in-progress plot of herbs and vegetables. Nothing very major, but Moho knew that his owners put a lot of effort into planting all of these things, and that it was pleasing to look at.

“We could go into the backyard, is that alright?” He then finished, looking at Latte expectantly.

"Sure! We could go to the backyard!", Latte meowed, his tail twitching excitedly. The brown and white tom loved exploring.

Phoenix Flames [im sorry, I’ll try to keep this role play as alive as possible, but my activity hasn’t been the best and I had to study four hours yesterday for my ap bio test]

Moho sighed contently, glad that Latte didn’t pressure him to go indoors or anything. That was a relief. If anybody were to go inside his house, it’s be when his owners were away, and they’d have to be very careful not to break or misplace anything. Moho’s owners were very strict about those kinds of things; they trained him to be polite and well-mannered as a kitten.

Without further ado, Moho turned around and flicked his tail slightly, signaling for Latte to follow him into he back property. Half of it was covered in green springy grass, but the rest was occupied by a multicolored garden and patio. He paused for a second, observing the well-trimmed flowers in front of him, wondering what his companion would think. “Do you like it?”

“I’m glad you like it,” the patched-pelted tomcat responded. He felt his pelt warm up a bit from the compliment. Even though the scenery was all created and designed by his owners, Moho felt a sense of pride. His twolegs were a good bunch of people.

“Oh, by the way, do your humans have a garden like this?” The kittypet wondered aloud, switching his gaze from the garden to Latte. “Or... erm, do you have owners?” He couldn’t quite tell from the scents whether Latte was a housecat or loner.

"Yes. I do live with twolegs. Why else would I have a collar?", Latte purred.

Moho chuckled too. Oh, right, I should’ve known that, he realized, looking down at Latte’s neck for the first time. Nobody wears collars except for we housecats... I guess it’s because humans like putting these collars on us. It does look pretty, and some of them have bells that jingle. Like mine.

“I suppose you’re correct,” he purred back, with the grin still on his face. “So, do you like your humans- twolegs- whatever you prefer to call them? I mean, some cats don’t like it and would prefer the freedom of the forest, but I’m perfectly fine living under their wing.” It’s comforting knowing that there will always be someone looking after me, making sure that I’m safe and sound.

"Yes, I do like my Twolegs.", Latte said. "I wonder what the forest is like...", the brown and white tom muttered.

Moho modded in agreement about the twoleg thing. But on the forest situation, however, he wasn’t quite sure what to make of it. Twitching his head towards the back property, which lead to a vast expanse of trees and woodland, Moho lied his gaze on the various logs and bushes that dotted the forest. Was it really safe to go back there?

The tom considered himself to be the observant type- he paid attention to the cars frequently, knowing exactly when it was safe to cross the street; he vigorously studied the various species of birds and figured out precise ways to catch them; he learned out how to open boxes and squeeze into tight spaces through trial and error. Moho knew tons of things, but he’d never learned too much about the forest. That was one of the most prominent- the most prominent- mystery in his life.

“Yes, me too,” he responded, still looking at the forest through his amber-orange eyes. “It’s quite intriguing. I’ve never gone there.”

"I have visited the forest couple of times before, when I was a kit, but, the forest is probably different now. I heard that sometimes Twolegs go to the forest and build stuff there. And then the Clans sometimes have to evacuate their homes for a bit.", Latte meowed.

“You’ve visited the forest before, hmm?” Moho repeated aloud, widening his eyes a bit, as if he were a shocked kitten. This made him even more intrigued- this tom visited? What was it like- was it really that dark and scary and big-looking, or was the intimidation all just a disguise? Was it harder to navigate through the terrain of the woodlands? Or was it just as simple as walking on springy blades of grass? Well, whatever it is, I definitely want to visit that forest one day. If another kittypet could do it, I could, too. As silly as it was, Moho’s spirits and confidence levels were boosted. He was that kind of tom- wavering, changing in attitude depending on the environment or situation.

“The clans?” The housecat perked his ears as he heard that word; he twitched his ear a bit, hoping that Latte would give more information about them... and what their situation was. “Uh, wait- those ‘clans’, why did they have to move?”

The young tom looked at Moho, shocked that he never heard of the five clans before. He sighed, about to tell him about the clans. "There are five clans. ThunderClan, ShadowClan, RiverClan, WindClan, and SkyClan. And they're said to believe in this thing called the warrior code. The warrior code is what the clans have to follow in order to be trusted. Also, they believe in these two places that cats go to when they die, one good and one bad, called StarClan and The Place of No Stars. The Place of No Stars is where dead cats' spirits go if they disobeyed StarClan and broke many codes in the warrior code. StarClan is where good cats' spirits go, when they die, obviously, if they haven't disobeyed StarClan as much and hasn't broken many rules of the warrior code.", Latte said.

"Sometimes the ckans have to move and stay somewhere until they go back to their own territory is because the Twolegs sometimes invade their territories and build stuff there, or their territories and camps are on fire, or it flooded.", the brown and white tom meowed.

Moho listened intently, as Latte began rattling off facts about those so-called clans. How interesting, he thought. Cats living in a civilization so much like twolegs. And they even have their own afterlife! Housecats like us don’t have our own afterlife, do we? he wondered.

“Wow, you sure know a lot about these cats. Were you ever... like, a part of a clan? Or did you know someone who was?”
